Equestria Girls: Miraculous Meeting

Chapter 6

Back on Earth 12015, Marinette's room.

Rarity, Applejack, Kamala and Miles had explained to Marinette about how they were from another earth and had been transported to this earth, by accident.

Marinette had been confused by the concept of multiple earths and the four had given an abridged version of the explanation Twilight had given, different earths separated by different vibrational frequencies.

The four had also revealed their real names and powers to Marinette and had asked her to keep their secret and not reveal that they were from another earth.

After they were done explaining, Marinette sat in silence.

"We understand if you don't believe us," Miles said, "we probably sound like crazy people, but it's the truth."

After a few minutes, Marinette finally spoke.

"Honestly," she replied, "what you've just told me sounds unbelievable, but that would explain why you've never heard of things that are commonplace around here."

"Wow," Kamala remarked, "you're taking this a lot better than we thought you would."

"Well," Marinette smiled, "this isn't the first time something strange has happened to me."

Rarity, Applejack, Kamala and Miles looked confused.

Marinette felt she could trust the four with her most private secret, since they had trusted her with revealing their identities and origins to her.

"There's someone I'd like you to meet," she said.

As if on cue, Tikki came out of hiding, she had been listening to the whole conversation.

The Kwami looked reluctant and nervous, she wasn't comfortable with Marinette decision.

"It's alright, Tikki," Marinette said, with a reassuring smile, "we can trust them."

"OK," Tikki replied.

Rarity and the others stood in silence. Even after all the things they had seen on their earth, the Kwami was like nothing they had witnessed before.

"I'm Tikki," the Kwami said, "please to meet you."

Meanwhile, many earths away.

Twilight and the others were now in Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum on 177A Bleecker Street.

Wong had brought them to the Sanctum because the group known as The Sentinels of Magic, a team of various magic users, tasked with protecting their reality from various magical and multiversal threats, wanted to see them.

The teens had been told by Wong to wait until they were called.

After a while, Wong reappeared.

"The Sentinels of Magic will see you now," he said.

Twilight and the others followed Wong into one of the rooms of the Sanctum.

Before them were The Sentinels of Magic, some of the most powerful magic users on their earth.

The team usually had seven members , but only six of the members were present: Dr. Strange, Dr. Fate, Daimon Hellstrom, Zatanna, Dr. Voodoo and Tempest.

The seven were sat in chairs high above them, looking down on Twilight and the rest.

Dr. Fate was the first to speak, "I trust you all know why you have been called?" he asked.

Twilight knew why, but nevertheless she was determined to plead her case.

"We do," she responded.

"Then you should understand," Dr. Strange said, "the severe implications of your actions."

"We do," Twilight mumbled.

"You would be wise to cooperate," Daimon Hellstrom a.k.a. Hellstorm remarked, "otherwise, your punishment could be worse than what we usually do."

"Which is?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"A pat on the back," Zatanna replied.

"And a slap on the wrist," Dr. Voodoo finished.

Before they could continue, Twilight spoke up.

"Wait," she said, "allow me to explain."

"We're listening," Garth a.k.a. Tempest, formerly known as Aqualad, uttered.

Tempest had started his superhero career as the teen sidekick to Aquaman, Aqualad, and would later go onto found the first iteration of the Teen Titans alongside Robin, Kid Flash (Wally West), Speedy and Woman Girl.

Twilight explained what had happened and their attempts to retrieve their friends, pleading for the Sentinels to retrieve Applejack, Rarity, Miles and Kamala using their magic.

The Sentinels listened to her story and once it was over talked privately amongst themselves.

"After much discussion," Dr. Fate stated, "we have decided not to help you, you must stop trying to recover your friends."

"WHAT!" Twilight and the others collectively responded.

"Why?" Rainbow Dash demanded, "you guys are suppose to be heroes!"

"You are asking us to break down the barrier between worlds," Dr. Strange replied, "after what you did we would rather not push the dimensional walls any further."

"What do you mean?" Fluttershy asked.

"I think they deserve an explanation," Zatanna interjected, Tempest nodding in agreement.

"Very well," Hellstorm sighed.

He nodded to Dr. Fate, who began to explain that when Rarity, Applejack, Kamala and Miles were transported away they had weaken the fabric of their reality, like pebbles being thrown through a window, cracking the window. If the Sentinels were to use their magic to retrieve them, it would be like a boulder making the cracks in reality bigger and crack the world around it. The entire surface of their dimension would splinter, allowing all manner of things to bleed through, into their world, and the result would be that the multiverse and by extension reality itself, would crumble and descend into chaos. This could lead to an incursion, an event where reality is confused and destabilised, resulting in the boundaries between earths eroding.

"The earths could collide, destroying one or both earths in the process, and as a Lord of Order," Dr. Fate concluded, "I cannot use my powers to upset the multiversal balance."

Twilight tried to argue, but her arguments and pleas all fell on deaf ears.

The Sentinels weren't budging on their decision.

Twilight and her friends were about to give up, when Wong interrupted to deliver a message from Madame Xanadu, the seventh member of the Sentinels.

The message made its way through all the Sentinel's hands, each one looking at it and passing it to each other.

The message simply said, 'help them.'

"It seems," Dr. Strange said, "that we can help you."

"Really?" Fluttershy replied, "I thought you said that you couldn't upset the multiversal balance."

"There are times," Zatanna smiled, "when even unbreakable rules can be bent."
