“Well I heard that there is a new version of the Cupcake Corner, Equestria Girls: Silly Location. They’re also now hiring for a security guard. I decided to sign applications for the both of us so we can both be security guards! Isn’t that great?!”
“Yeah… great. About that.”
I really didn’t want to deal with any more security guard watching animatronic stuff so I had to lie my way out.
“I’ve already applied for a different job.”
“What?! I’ve already applied for both of us! Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!”
“I could ask you the same thing when you decided to hire me for a job I was unaware of.”
“I guess you have a good point. Anyways I have to get going. My shift starts at twelve.”
“Alright. Good luck.”
“Thanks.”
Ashley hung up the call. Part of me felt like it was a normal phone call, but the other part of me is telling me that I should be concerned for Ashley as she’s applying for a job that would cost her life. I would know, I’ve been there. I could’ve told her to not apply for a job at that new Cupcake Corner for the same reasons as the previous one but I doubt she’ll believe a word I say.
Sort of off-topic, I should actually apply for another job as I have no other source of income, unless you count my bank account. I’m not actually sure what I should apply for, but maybe a waitress should do. I know, it’s only like $14 or $17 per hour but that’s good enough for me. Plus, really all I have to do is take people's orders, serve them said orders, wash tables and dishes and that’s basically it.
I went online to find a restaurant near me so I wouldn’t have to wake up so early in the morning just to drive all the way to a job nowhere near my house. I found the restaurant’s official website which provided a link for a job application. Clicking the link, I type out all the important information needed: name, contact information, strengths, skills, education, etc. After sending the resume, I headed off to bed. After all, it was like twelve or something.
As I headed off to bed, I grabbed my Sunset Shimmer plush to snuggle with. Yes, I know, I’m in my early twenties still snuggling with a toy, judge me. Even with my previous job, it’s not enough to ruin Sunset for me, let alone the series in general. Speaking of which, Sunset wasn’t even in the Cupcake Corner. I was kind of sad not to see my favorite character there, but it was probably for the better as handling seven animatronics is already a pain as is. I then drifted off to sleep, my Sunset Shimmer plush in hand.

“Huh? Where am I?”
I was sitting on a chair that was inside an office. There was a door on the left and right side of the walls. On top of me was a vent against the wall in front of me. I was back at the Cupcake Corner.
“What am I doing here?! More importantly, why am I here?!”
Not caring or wanting to be here, I left the office from the right door. Before I could exit…
“Stay here.” An ominous voice came out of nowhere.
“Why?” I asked.
“Your shift doesn’t end till six.”
“But I’ve already applied for a different job.”
“Then why are you here?”
“That’s what I’m wondering about!”
“Well you can leave until your shift is over.”
“Well what’s stopping me from leaving right now?”
As I continued walking towards the door, an animatronic magically appeared at the door. I quickly shut the door while also falling on the floor from shock during the process.
“What the?! How did she?!... Who was that?!”
I opened the cameras to find the mysterious animatronic. From past experience, I’ve memorized the cameras and clicked on Cam 11. On the camera was an animatronic that had red hair with yellow stripes. However, I noticed that the left side of her hair was pitch black, like she had just escaped a fire. Just like the other animatronics, she was withered, some wear and tear on her chest area, skirt and left leg, her right hand and left leg being exposed, showing her endoskeleton. She had half of her left arm missing and had black scleras like the others.
“Sunset?”
I was surprised and shocked to see my favorite character, not only trying to kill me, but seeing her attack so early as it was only 12 AM. Checking the other cameras, I noticed that none of the other eight animatronics were here. I checked the Supply Closet where Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Applejack were supposed to be, but they weren’t. I checked the second Supply Closet where Twilight and Spike were, but again, no one. I tried to find Rainbow Dash and Rarity at their specific locations but they weren’t there either.
“What happened to the rest of them? Did they all burn in a fire?”
That would explain Sunset’s burnt hair but that would mean the whole Cupcake Corner would most definitely go down with them. I checked the Right Corner camera to see Sunset had left. I was free to open the door.
Tracking her down, I found Sunset at the Main Stage. I don’t recall any animatronic on that camera the last time I worked here. Knowing that Sunset is the only animatronic active, this should be an easy night to get through.
It was 1 AM, Sunset had moved to the Party Room. Took her a while to get there, maybe because it’s the start of the night and will progressively get faster as the night goes on.
“If Sunset only attacks from the right door, then really all I have to do is just look at the right door till her eyes glow.”
A few minutes later, I heard thumping that seemed to be coming from the vents.
“What?” Checking the cameras I saw Sunset was now crawling through the vent.
“She can attack through the vents too?! Does that mean she can attack from all three sides of the office?”
Fortunately, she was very far back from the vent to my office but obviously, I had to keep an eye on her. A few seconds later, Sunset was very close to the vent camera. As I closed the vent door, I noticed that Sunset’s eyes didn’t glow.
“But they were just glowing when she appeared at the door.”
A little thud emitted behind the vent door, signaling me to open the door. I still remember the fact that the doors basically keep every single piece of electricity alive in this place, which I thought was stupid. It would be so much easier if I could just close all the doors altogether and just sit here.
It was 2:30 AM. I had found Sunset back at the Party Room. Instantly, the camera glitched out and Sunset was no longer in the Party Room. Searching for her, I found her right outside my left door.
“AHHHH!!!” Even though her eyes weren’t glowing, they didn’t do that the last time she was at the vent. I quickly shut the door.
“How did she go from the Party Room to outside my door so fast?! I knew she would get faster, but I thought it would be around 3 AM.”
I checked the Left Corner to see that Sunset was no longer there, safely opening the door.
“Okay, I guess she can attack from all three sides.”
Knowing that Sunset is starting to move faster and can attack me from anywhere, I have to be extremely careful and keep a good eye on her. I checked the cameras to see that Sunset was in the kitchen, pretty close to my right door. What I decided to do, was leave the cameras on the Right Corner as she was pretty close to the door anyway. Few seconds later, Sunset quickly appeared at the right door and I shut it immediately. I noticed my power was at 64%. Checking Sunset’s every move, plus closing the door must be taking up power. I limited my camera options to the Left and Right Corner, and vents.
The night was now a repeated cycle of checking the three cameras then closing the door if necessary. Checking the time I saw that it was 4 AM but I only had about 40% due to her approaching me more often. Hopefully I can make it to 6 AM safely.
It was 5:56 AM. I only had 3% left. Sunset had been waiting at the door longer than usual, maybe that was her plan to kill me. The doors that were closed now opened and the lights turned off leaving the office and Cupcake Corner in general dark. My adrenaline was rushing as I’ve never had a power outage from past experience. For a few seconds, nothing happened. However, I did hear footsteps, most likely coming from Sunset.
I was now scared out of my mind as this killer robot is now in the same room as me. Suddenly, Sunset leaped at me with a loud shriek and tackled me off my chair.

“Ahh!!” I shoot up from my bed looking at my surroundings. I saw that I was still in my room.
“Oh thank God that was just a dream.” I looked down at my Sunset Shimmer plush. After my dream, I didn’t really know how to feel about having this toy, but as I said, it’s not enough to ruin Sunset for me.
I set the toy down and checked my phone and saw that I got an email. It was from the restaurant I applied to. I was hired. The email said that my shift started at 7 AM tomorrow. Funnily enough, I didn’t have an alarm set after I quit my previous job. I set an alarm that would wake me up at 6:30 AM. Suddenly I got a call from Ashley. I answered the call.
“Hello?”
“Cassandra,” she said in a scared tone. “My job is totally insane!”
