I sat next to Sunset, her cyan eyes warm with love and kindness. She and I were an official item, and ever since, the entire year teased us for it. Now, we were alone in my house, in my bedroom. We were chatting about stuff that happened. Even though Sunset still had her bad days, I tried to help her get rid of those bad feelings. I loved Sunset; she loved me. We had so many adventures together, and so many times when we kept embarrassing each other.
She smiled, sliding into bed. She had no pyjama bottom, nor did I. I slid next to her, cuddling close to her.
“Sunset?” I asked. “Are we allowed to have... you know what?”
“Sex?” barked Sunset. “Of course. I give full permission.”
She kissed me gently. We smiled, having it together. I daren’t say it aloud. My father would probably kill me.
Sunset and I fell asleep, still in each other’s embrace.
The next day, my dad came in, seeing us snuggled up together like 2 peas in a pod. Sunset smiled. She got up, going straight to the mirror.
A loud cackle sounded from behind. As Demon Shimmer appeared, Sunset’s hands shot over her head in fear.
“Get away you fiend!” she cried.
“You’ll never get away from me!” cackled her demon. “I’m you. Your evil shadow, always following you, watching you. I can’t believe you, Sunset Shimmer! You had sex with that boy.”
“He’s not a boy,” snarled Sunset. “He’s my boyfriend. I love him!”
“And when he splits up with you, you’ll have nowhere to go but me!” cried Demon Shimmer.
“Shut it,” snarled Sunset. “Shut it, demon.”
Demon Shimmer grinned menacingly. She flew towards Sunset. “One day, Sunset Reginald Shimmer, I’ll take over your whole body!”
“Never!” she shouted. “Never in my fuckin’ life I’ll let you take over me!”
Demon Shimmer disappeared into the mirror.
I brought a pregnancy test out of a shopping bag. We went into the bathroom and Sunset weed on it. Positive. We knew that. We just had the deed.
