Twilight hands Rainbow her boots and demands that she choose between joining her crew or dying there, and while the Marines are shocked at how Twilight was able to absorb their bullets, Rainbow Dash agrees to join her crew.

Morgon realizes that Twilight must have eaten a Devil Fruit, and after Rainbow questions, Twilight replies that she ate the "Magic Magic Fruit". Morgon then explains about the mysterious Devil Fruits: mysterious fruits that can give their user powers, such as the ability to breathe fire or create tsunamis.

Twilight hands Rainbow her boots and she agrees to the terms of joining her crew, saying that she cannot die yet and must keep a promise she made years ago, declaring that if Twilight gets in the way of her dream, she will kill her. With her boots equipped, Rainbow Dash breaks free of his restraints, while Morgon orders his soldiers to attack the girls. In battle, Twilight uses her "Energy Whip" technique (turning her arm into an energy whip to hit her opponent), defeating them all.

This defeat makes Morgon furious, so he takes off his coat and declares that he will kill Twilight himself. She accepts the challenge and charges Morgon, landing a hit with her "Energy Sphere" technique (focusing some of her energy into a small sphere in her hand and hitting her opponent with it), but Morgon blocks it with her cannon.

The two engage in a huge battle, with all of Morgon's shots missing and Twilight gaining the upper hand, knocking her opponent to the ground and pummeling him with her fists, furious that Morgon was shattering Luster's dream. Just then, Sunburst appears and points a gun at Luster's head and orders Twilight to stop attacking or he'll kill Luster, but she declares that she won't stand in the way of Twilight's dream, even if it means her death.

Impressed by her friend's determination, Twilight turns to Sunburst and prepares to attack him with a weak version of her "Stella Magna", but a totally furious Morgon steps up behind Twilight, about to shoot her with his cannon.

Just then, Twilight manages to knock Sunburst down, revealing that Morgon was unable to shoot her, because Rainbow had hit her in the stomach with a powerful kick. Stricken by Rainbow's attack, Morgon collapses to the ground in defeat, and our protagonists are shocked to see the Marines throw their weapons into the air, celebrating the defeat of their tyrannical captain.

Elsewhere, Fluttershy finds a map leading to Equestria in Morgon's office, but only finds a note, saying that someone named Sombra already took the map.

Later, Twilight, Rainbow, and Luster celebrate their victory at the town restaurant with Riko and her mother, where they eat their fill, and Riko questions where Twilight is headed next. She replies that she will leave for Equestria to become queen, and Luster responds in horror, saying that the route to Equestria is a dangerous place, also known as "The Pirate Graveyard". Still, Twilight remains confident in her dream. Then, Rainbow asks Twilight how many more members are in her crew, and she replies that Rainbow is the first, and then points to the small boat they will be traveling on.

At that moment, a group of Marines enter the restaurant and, since Twilight and Rainbow are pirates, they ask them to leave the town and the island immediately. Their leader, Lieutenant Ripper, also communicates that he will not rat them out to Marine Headquarters, in thanks for defeating Morgon. Accepting the terms, Twilight and Rainbow prepare to leave, and Ripper asks Luster if she's with them. At that moment, Twilight is about to explain that Luster spent time aboard Alvido's pirate ship as her slave, and this infuriates Starlight, since that information will ruin her chance to join the Navy.

Completely furious, Luster punches Twilight, causing her to retaliate and they start fighting. The Marines see that Luster is not with them, so they order Twilight and Rainbow to leave. As they leave, Starlight asks to join the Marines and is promptly accepted.

Outside, Twilight and Rainbow board their boat, and as they set sail, the Marines send them off with a salute for saving the city, including Luster, who promises to meet Twilight again one day, but next time it will be as rivals.

In the end, Rainbow asks Twilight why she wants to become the Queen of Equestria so badly, and Twilight replies that she does it because of a promise she made to the woman who gave her her crown... and that she won't break that promise, whatever happens.
