//------------------------------// // Chapter 27 : Wolves // Story: Transferred as a Limited God to a World full with Colorful ponies // by WinterStormed //------------------------------// It's barely been four hours since Discord left and I am already on the verge of becoming a snack. "Why is it always wolves ?" I ran as fast as I could, the forest becoming more denser and darker. There is at least three wolves tailing me. Flying was out of the question, since I did not know how to take off point blank. The sword was useless too since I did not know how to wield it. Holding the sword in my mouth was a big no-no. I had no experience whatsoever in sword fighting, well, besides countless of hours playing dark souls. It was just there, strapped against my side, the hilt, glinting by the occasional ray of light. Oh well. At least the wolves had a giant silver toothpick to clean of the bits of me from there canines. "Woah !" I made a sharp halt, rolling my body to the left, dodging the forward lunge. "Where the hell you came from !" I squinted at the beast before me. It seemed my assumption of them being wolves was only partially correct. They had the physique and shape of one but that was where the similarity ended. Instead of fur, they had bark and leaves along with a pair of luminous green eyes. "Ah great, I'm surrounded." One in front of me and two behind me. Oh no, they doing the shark-circle thing. I tensed as they encircled me, making it smaller and smaller. The smallest one of the three lunged at me. Fortunately I anticipated it, Unfortunately I barely dodged it as it's extended claws scratched my neck. My back was against a tree. Dammit ! Trapped like a blithering idiot. The trio of wolves approached me , forming a straight line, making sure that all escape routes were null and void Holy pancakes. I'm hyperventilating now. Is this the end ? A clinging sound went by my side, catching my brief attention to my side. The sword ! Awkwardly, I grabbed the hilt with my mouth as I took a final stance. Urggg, what a ridiculous way to go. All three wolves pounced me at the same time as I swung the sword blindly. Thankfully it caused them step back. "Yea-" I realised in horror as the sword made a clink noise as it fell on the ground. I cursed my self silently as the wolves lunged at me. Celebrated to early there. I quickly raised my hooves to cover my face from the trio attack. *Shlick !* I felt liquid splatter all over me, the smell of tree sap. Raising my head up, I saw the two wolves backing off and retreating. The middle one was floating in the air.... "Good lord." The sword was impaled in it's stomach, green liquid pouring from the wound. What the heck is going on ? Did the sword move according to my movements ? I waved my right hoof, the floating body following suit. I gave a chuckle and a sigh of relief as I collapsed against the tree. "Whew ! That was a close one." I attempted to recall the sword but it was only after a couple of attempts did I manage to levitate it towards me. The concept was simple. Whenever I lift my right hoof I feel a tug. Pulling the tug allowed me to control the sword. Analysing the floating sword in front of me made me realise that it was using my wind magic to power up. Besides the fact that the blade had a green glow along the sharp side of the blade, I could also feel a slight breeze surrounding it. "Ha" I said weakly, realising the tug, the sword falling to the ground. "Discord was right. I did get the hang of it." A wave of exhaustion hit me as I woke up. "Urggg." It seems using the sword is physically taxing and magically consuming of my wind magic. "Well, all's well." I dusted by saddlebags. They were squashed and mangled but nothing broken. "Now to find a place to ca-" "You got to be fricken kidding me !" The sound of wolves howling was sound-wrecking. On the slope was 5,6,7,8....15 wooden wolves slowly coming down. I narrowed my eyes at the two accomplices. "So you brought back up, huh." I held the tugging sensation as the sword levitated from the floor, glowing. I felt a bit cocky. " Bring how many wooden Pinocchio's as you want. I fricken played all the Dark souls games to know how to whip your asses." We charged at the same time. I gazed at the massacre, dead wolves littered around me. The ground sticky with tree sap. I had scratches everywhere and a fairly deep gash on my left hoof. I was tired, bone-dead. My muscles were screaming, and my magic almost depleted. I felt sick at all the carnage, feeling guilt at what I had done but it was life or death. Anymore of them and I would have been overwhelmed..... *Boom* *BOOM* *BOOM* What the hell ? I gaped at the giant figure on top of the slope. It must be over one storey tall ! It was a white wolf with leaves and other fauna covering it's body. It's re glowing eyes staring own on me. I could feel the wind obeying it's command as it swirled around it. I carried myself up as I used my sword as support. It gave a loud growl. "Here we go again."
