Chapter 1: Rachel and Casidy's night

Chapter 1…. A hero never-

Time: 7:30 pm. Date Monday Jan 10th, 2004. Location: Denise Manor

Rachel, a rainbow haired girl with sky related tattoos adorning her body, huffed as she switched the channels on her TV. After a long day of avoiding all possible work Rachel really needed something to do, sadly the TV didn’t have any answers for her. Uninteresting news, blatant lies, horrible events being-over publicized, yep. The normal for the world. Biting her tongue in an attempt to not scream Rachel switched the channel once again.
   A news channel popped up, familiar faces of famous people talking endlessly about some park or something. Rachel mumbled as she laid her head on her hand, honestly could today get more boring?

Slowly opening the door to the main room a meek girl entered. Her long black hair draped over her eyes and her charming cottage core, yellow powdered dress dragged behind her. The girl's bright blue eyes scanned the room before they landed on the rainbow haired mess. A soft smile grew on her lips as she approached the girl and sat beside her.

“Are you alright, Rachel?” the shy girl asked, her voice soft as a whisper. Rachel groaned and turned her head to the newcomer with a face anyone could only describe as “what do you think”.

“Ah… well, uhm.. I wanted to tell you Casidys at the door.” Great, just what she needed! Casidy always got herself in trouble and ran to Rachel to avoid the consequence. Rachel also tended to get herself in trouble but not as much as Casidy did. Sometimes Casidy dragged Rachel into the drama just because she said it was “fun”. Honestly all things Rachel did not fully understand. She still followed of course, it was fun! She was with her best friend after all! Besides, a little danger never killed anyone.
   With a slightly brightened mood Rachel spoke.

“I’ll get it.” Standing up from her comfort pose and stepping past the shy maid, Rachel hurried her way over to the door with a bored but happy look. Slipping her fingers around the door handle Rachel slowly opened the door only to be pushed back as a girl rushed in, shutting the door loudly behind her. Rachel watched Casidy with an amused look as the girl quickly made herself at home, holding two large bags of possibly stolen candy. Casidy quickly flashed Rachel with a wide smile before rushing her way to the TV with an excited giggle. Rachel only followed slowly behind her, secretly praising Cassidy's candy stash.

“Look at that!” Casidy flipped through the channels, finally landing on a certain news channel Rachel strongly disliked. It also focused on the negative and seemed so fake, but… Casidy always liked it for some reason.
   Following Casidy’s finger Rachel noticed a colorful pink clown looking girl with a bright blue mask over her eyes. Said girl was Pinkie Pie, feared criminal of the streets said to break the minds of any who met her. Honestly Rachel felt it was all just a paid actor for that certain news channel, no other channels spoke of her. To be fair though, Rachel never adventured to the streets Pinkie visited, but she knew enough to know another channel might try to profit off of the psychos sighting.
   Besides, for years the very channel was in a court case over how it only tells lies. It was fully possible Casidy just saw the channel as a reality TV show. Probably for the best.

Rachel simply rolled her eyes and flopped on the couch watching the TV with a blank, bored look. A few minutes passed before the police sirens began to rip past the house. This happened all the time, and they never thought to check Rachel's house. It was possibly because her parents were high business rich folk who didn't take too kindly to being disturbed. They were probably afraid for their wallets. Then again, Rachel's parents were never home. Always ignoring their daughter and leaving her to be practically raised by the maid. Said maid was Rachel's same age!
   The maid definitely was Rachel's best friend, possibly a bigger sister at this point. She was there with Rachel through thick and thin, always standing by her side. She was there for Rachels soccer games, there for Rachels breakdowns and there for Rachel's first cheerleading performance. Yes, Megan was truly a bigger sister to Rachel.

Casidy hummed happily as the police cars passed, probably congratulating herself on a good heist and escape. She dug into the bags, popping a gummy pony into her mouth. Megan soon entered the room with a tray of snacks and sweet drinks. Of course she kept some tea for herself as she set down the tray, Casidy politely digging in without a single thank you. Of course Megan played it no mind though, it was honestly impossible to break her gentle spirit.

“Ray!΅ Ray was a nickname Casidy gave Rachel, “did you see that! That was so cool!” She was probably referring to the TV, something Rachel was ignoring. Just wanting to make Casidy happy though, Rachel smiled and nodded her head leading Casidy right back to watching the news channel. Deciding boredom wasn’t worth it, Rachel too began to watch the TV. Just letting the night go by.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A loud crack startled Rachel awake as Casidy ran freely around the living room. Apparently Rachel fell asleep while the news played forcing Megan into the guardian role. Megan was struggling to keep Casidy from the expensive and breakable objects around the room, wheezing with each breath. Rachel mentally commented how she needed to make Megan work out more.
   Rachel quickly forced herself to stand up as she ran after Casidy, suffering from a major sugar high. Rachel could quickly catch Casidy, something the party animal did not particularly like. Grabbing the arm of the wild candy eater Rachel pulled her away from a precious plate her parents admired. She began to pull Casidy away and shoved her onto the couch earning a glare for her efforts. Megan let out one more wheeze before sitting down to calm her breath.
“Alright, what happened.” Rachel commented, a smirk growing on her lips. Casidy noticed the smile before smiling herself.
“They failed to catch Pinkie Pie! Another adventure awaits!” Casidy quickly squeaked in joy, joy that was definitely going to the wrong side.
“Isn't she a villain..?” Megan commented, she then twitched away when Casidy sent her a glare too.
“Nah! She's just having fun!”
“At the expense of others…” Rachel took notice of Cassidy's moon quickly dropping, an angry look sneering its way to Megan.
“Whatever, let's move on.” Rachel attempted, just wanting to pull the attention away from Megan. “How about we go to my room!”
“Yay! Rachel's room is the coolest!” Casidy squealed before darting upstairs. Rachel simply smiled and shook her head as she followed the girl, leaving Megan behind with the broken tea cups on the floor. She was the maid, she would handle it, Rachel thought as she walked upstairs.
Long rich halls of family heirlooms and expensive glass lined the walls. The walls were a lovely cream color, complimenting the blue carpeting squishing beneath Casidy's and Rachel's feet. Wide windows opened up showing the backyard garden and the front yards of freshly trimmed trees. The scent of chlorine broke into the two girls' noses as they walked above the downstairs pool. Rachel was blessed with having such a wonderful house to live in.
   Rounding the corner Rachel opened a set of two large doors revealing a sky painted, punk styled room. There was a lot of poorly drawn art on the walls, messy floors covered by clothing and what could only be assumed to be sports equipment. Casidy took no notice of the mess and jumped onto the bed laughing. Usually on nights like these Casidy would stay over to be extra careful, something Rachel suggested due to a lot of action movies.
Casidy kicked her shoes free from her feet as she laid back with a relaxed sigh. Rachel followed Casidy's actions before sitting right beside the party animal with a smile. The two did their casual chit chat over pranks they planned to play on friends and enemies. The hours would pass as the two talked, just happy to be near each other. Tomorrow marked the day they returned to school, so they took their time celebrating the last of the weekend.
