//------------------------------// // Chapter IV - Wake up, and see something amazing // Story: Double Surprise // by 654_nosneb //------------------------------// Bon-bon was rushing to the museum. She wanted to make sure than Lyra wasn't that stupid to try to steal a museum relique, that probably worth millions of bits, just to try to prove than some bipedal creatures from a fairy tail exists. But she knew Lyra, she knew that when humans were involved, she was capable of everything, just to prove once and for all than they exist. "I hope she wasn't that stupid to do that." Bon-bon thought. "Even Lyra has limits, and stealing private property was clearly crossing all of them. I just hope that she isn't at jail right now, or worse." As she approached the museum that she found on the newspaper she saw on Lyra's room, she was starting to calm down as no royal guards were there, no windows were broken, and the museum was open to the public. "Uff, maybe Lyra wasn't so crazy after all." the mare thought. "But don't relax yet Bonnie, not until I see that the relique is safe from Lyra's hoofs." She entered the building and aimless road through the various amount showcases the museum had to offer. In her saddlebag, she had the newspaper that showed the artifact she was looking for. She searched for the museum for some time, but eventually she just decided to ask one of the workers about it. She searched for one, and after a few seconds she found a pony with the museum uniform. "Um, excuse me sir, but can you tell me where I can find this?" she asked to the stallion. "I can't see it anywhere." "Oh yes miss." the green stallion answered. "That is the museum newest addition. The princess Celestia herself was the one who provided us with that amazing relique. She said that she found it on the castle vault and thought that it would be better for it to be in a museum so everypoy can see it. If you can follow me I could show where it is." Bon-bon followed her guide, until they arrived a whole room that was dedicated to humans! There where tons of little statues, paintings, burned artifacts, books written in very old languages such as Latin, and in the center of the room was what she was looking for: The Earth amulet. "And here we are miss, have fun at the human hall." said the green stallion before leaving. Bon-bon was stunned by the whole room. Sure, humans were pure fantasy, but they had tons and tons of old relics dedicated to them. It seems that their legend was very popular in the past, since all of this dedicated stuff were just to detailed to be fake. "Well... at least there it is, the earth amulet, which means that Lyra didn't steal it." the mare thought before realizing that: "Wait, so if Lyra didn't steal it, where is she? Oh no, Lyra is lost and I just wasted my time instead of searching her!" She turned herself around to began her searching of her friend, when suddenly she heard a noise from behind. "Is anypony here?" she asked, with no response from anywhere. She was about to continue on her way, until she saw than the Earth amulet was... saying something? "Initiate the friendship protocol!" the amulet spoke, with a bright blue light emanating from the black stone on its center. Then, suddenly and without warning, the floor opened under her hoofs and she fall into the portal that just opened under her. "What thE HAYYYY! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" she shouted before her body turned around, and make her head impact on unknown ground, leaving her unconscious. "How exactly I ended up here?" asked to himself Sophia's father. "Driving a unicorn to the hospital, beacouse she said than she might be able tu cure my mother from her coma." he didn't trust this unicorn fully yet, and he still refused to believe that magic was real, but... the simple idea of seeing his mother awake one more time was enough to accept taking this unicorn to his mother hospital room. Meanwhile, in the backseats of the red car, both friend were chatting very loudly about many things, while waiting to the traffic lights to turn green. "So, this 'car' uses the power of lighting for moving itself and its passengers!?" asked the unicorn to her friend. "Yes, it does." answered Sophia. "Although we don't charge them directly with lightnings." "I though that you humans used fossil fuels for energizing stuff." the mare said. "But maybe its better like this, since those kind of fuels were destroying the human atmosphere according to the legends." "Yeah, we previously used those fuels according to my history teach." answered Sophia. "But since the 4th industrial revolution we changed them for renewable energies. And that was about 2000 years ago." "Oh so your technology really improved since then, right?" "Well yeah, it improved" answered the girl. "But nothing very big actually. The biggest change in 2 millenniums is the development of virtual reality, and that's all. It looks like our technology its reaching its peak." "Kind of similar to magic back in equestria." Lyra spoke. "Since thousands of years, the biggest upgrade in magic was the discovery of 'magic of friendship'." "Ooo, magic of friendship, I wanna know about tha..." Sophia stopped talking, since at the other side of the open car window, she could see a teenager staring at Lyra. Fortunately the traffic lights become green, and both cars went on separate directions. "Maybe it will be better for us to close that window." Sophia said. "You worry too much Sophia." answered her unicorn friend. "In fact, I wanna be spotted so they can learn that unicorns exist!" "I don't think is a good idea either." said Sophia's father. "Miss heartstrings, from where you came they might be tons of different species living with each other peacefully, but here on earth a simple variation of your skin color could make the difference for determining your social group in the past. I'm already taking a great risk by taking you to the hospital." "But this is not the past anymore." the mare sentenced. "From what Sophia told me last night, you humans have changed a lot, even wars that were your greatest and repetitive mistake, have not happened for about 2000 years." "Well that's... true, but still..." "Since I don't know for how long I'm gonna stay here on earth, I think I could spend all that time helping the human race to be a little bit more friendly." Lyra sentenced with a very big smile on her face. "And I don't know how I can do it if I stay hidden to the public. Also you don't need to call me 'miss heartstrings' just call me Lyra." "You really wanna help our entire race!" said Sophia with a big smile on her face. "Well yeah." said Lyra a little nervous. "I think we ponies could teach you how to use magic, and you humans could teach us how to build these kind of awesome vehicles." The chat continued for some more minutes, until they arrived at the hospital's parking spot. "Well, here we are." said Lyra's father. "Now, I can lead you miss Heart... I say Lyra, to the room in which my mother is, you just have to follow me an my daughter, and if someone tries to harm you, just let me know and I would help you." The three of them went out of the car, and started their way to the hospital entrance. And, as expected, all of the people that were walking by stared at Lyra. From young to old, women and men, stared at Lyra as if she was an alien that just landed on the earth, which actually was not that wrong. They entered the building, and as soon as the people inside noticed Lyra they also froze. Nobody was moving for a whole minute, until Lyra spoke. "Hi everyp... I say, everyone, my name is Lyra, and I promise to all of you than I'm not harmful." said the mare a little nervous. "In fact I just came here to help one of your kind, that is not having a good time, to wake up." A few of them where starting to pull out their 'cellphones' and place them in front of themselves, pointing them to Lyra. This made Lyra a little scared, she knew that even though humans didn't had a war since 2000 years ago, they still have very destructive weapons. What if one of the functions of these 'cellphones' was to kill the thing that was in front of them. "Don't worry, they won't hurt you." Sophia calmed her. "They are just recording you, and taking photos. Now, let's go wake up grandma!" They went very quickly to Sophia's grandma's hospital room, since all the people in the hallways they needed to go through to get to her froze as soon as they saw Lyra. Sophia's father opened the door for the girls and they all entered. "Quickly," said Sophia's father, "now than they aren't any doctors around. Just do your magic... I say... Well, yes, do your magic Lyra." "Ok." the mare said. "As I said before, I'm not a doctor, so excuse me if I fail." She placed herself in front of the hospital bed that contained a very old human figure inside. She had wrinkles on her face, white hair, and a machine alongside her that was beeping constantly. Lyra's horn began to glow, as a greenish aura enveloped the old lady's body; then, her horn began to glow even brighter as she used all her efforts to find grandma's mind, and put it back at control of her own body. Then Lyra's horn ended the spell with a sudden 'flash', and Lyra's body was pushed against the wall. "Owww!" Lyra said while trying to stand up. "I should've practiced that spell before. Sorry guys, it seems that since I'm not a doctor, the spell didn't..." She stopped talking as soon as she noticed that the old lady was starting to move her hand to her face, and started to open her eyes to see her family staring at her with amazed eyes. "What happened?" said the old lady. "What happened? I just remember that I was taking my pills when..." "MOMMY!" said Sophia's father while giving her mother a tide hug. "I though that you would never wake up!" "Wait, for how much time I was sleeping? What happened to me? And..." She stopped talking as soon as she noticed the mint-green unicorn in front of her. Just like the equestrian ones that visited the earth 2000 years ago! And only a few people knew of their existence, although they didn't visited the earth since then. She just wake up and see something amazing. Bon-bon woke up from her unconscious state, just to wake up and see something amazing. She was at a hallway of a city like manehattan, but this one was a lot more strange. The buildings were extremly high, the architecture was very odd, and they were light plates showing images of... no they couldn't be. She rubbed her hoofs against her eyes just to make sure that she was seeing right, and effectively, it was still there. It was an advertising of a black brick made of glass, and... a human holding it. But this human was too detailed to be a simple drawing, the only thing that would make some sense would be that it was a photo, but that would mean that... She rushed to the exit of the hallway. She was not prepared for what she saw. Out of the hallway, they were lot, LOT of humans, REAL ONES! She was on the human world, but how? All the people in the street stared at the little colorful pony that just appeared from that hallway. This make Bon-bon feel uncomfortable, since some of the tales about humans describe them as meat-eating monsters. She was about to go back to the hallway, when suddenly a red metal monster stopped right in front of her. Then from the monster's inside came out a human colt, his father and... LYRA!? "Bonnie!" shouted her friend as she rushed to gave her a tide hug. "How did you came here! I'm so happy to see you again! I thought I wouldn't see you in a long time!" Sophia stared at the friends reunion as puzzled as her father, but then Sophia felt again the necessity of presenting herself. It was the right thing to do. "H-Hi miss Bon-bon, right? Lyra told me about you, my name is Sophia." said Sophia as she extended her hand to the candy maker mare. Meanwhile, at the hospital. Sophia's grandmother was still on bed. The doctors told the family that even though she woken up from the coma, she needed to rest, just to make sure than everything was ok. "At least, if everything goes according to the plan, I'll be back at home in a week." she thought happily. Suddenly, and without warning a portal opened in front of her. She could see the legendary Canterlot's castle, a building that she only heard stories about. The sight was beautiful until it closed as fast as it opened. "Oh my God its happening!" she said with emotion. "Its happening! The friendship protocol! That explains Lyra's visit to this world. Oh, I've to tell them as soon as possible!"
