Our heroes return to Olivine City for Turquoise’s upcoming gym battle with Jasmine. Currently, they were at the pokemon center where Turquoise was exchanging her Altaria and Milotic for her Meganium and Lucario. After the exchange was complete Turquoise called out Lucario who was excited to see Turquoise again.

“We have a very tough gym battle ahead of us so when we were in Goldenrod City I bought this,” Turquoise said before pulling out a gauntlet with Lucarionite embedded in it. “ I was saving it for the Johto league if we ever made it but considering how strong Jasmine is we may need it,” Turquoise placed the gauntlet on Lucario’s arm and instantly he felt the power pour into him.

“Are you sure you can handle that? From what Rainbow told me mega evolution is very hard to master,” Fluttershy asked.

“Relax Fluttershy we got this,” Turquoise said assuringly. The girls decided now was the time to head to the gym.





Sometime later the girls arrived in front of the Olivine City Gym where both Jasmine and Janina were waiting.

“So that you know I’ve been training a lot since that battle in Steel City so I won’t be going easy on you,” Jasmine said.

“I wouldn't have it any other way,” Turquoise said. Everyone went inside the gym and headed toward the Battlefield. While Turquoise, Jasmine, and Janina took their spots Fluttershy took a seat in the stands where spectators would watch.

“The battle between Jasmine the Gym Leader and Turquoise the challenger will now begin, Both sides will use three pokemon and the battle will end when all three of one side’s pokemon are unable to continue, Lastly only the challenger will be allowed to substitute their pokemon,” Janina said. “Are both sides in agreement?”

“I agree,” Jasmine said.

“No complaints here,” Turquoise said.

“Then let the battle begin,” Janina said before both sides called out their first pokemon.

“Magneton come on out,” Jasmine said as a creature that looked like three Magnemite fused together came out which prompted Turquoise to pull out her Pokedex.

“Magneton, The Magnet Pokemon, A Magneton is actually three Magnemite linked by magnetism. A group of these Pokémon can set off a magnetic storm,” The Pokedex said. Turquoise figured now was a good time to see what her newest pokemon could do.

“Go Gible,” Turquoise said as she called out Gible.

“Magneton use Tri Attack. Magneton unleashed its Tri Attack which Turquoise was expecting.

“Dodge and use Dragon Breath. Gible dodged the Tri attack and managed to unleash Dragon Breath which despite landing did not do much damage.

“Not bad but not good enough to beat us. Magneton use Gyro Ball. Magneton suddenly spun at high speed and now looked like a flying saucer ready to do some damage. Before turquoise could give her command magneton managed to deal a big amount of damage to Gible but not enough to beat Gible as he managed to hang on. “Impressive your Gible has tenacity I will give it that but can it survive this. Magneton use another Gyro Ball. Magneton spun around at high speed again but this time Turquoise was ready for it.

“Gible use Bite to catch it,” Turquoise said which caught Jasmine off guard a bit. Gible managed to bite down into Magneton which stopped the gyro ball while leaving magneton in his mouth. “Now use Dragon Breath. Gible unleashed dragon breath which hit from point-blank range due to being stuck in Gible’s mouth. Magneton was now on the ground where Turquoise wanted it. “Now finish this with Bulldoze. Gible put everything he had into his Bulldoze attack which resulted in a critical hit and was enough to finish off Magneton.

“Magneton is unable to battle Gible is the winner,” Janina said while pointing her right flag at Turquoise.

“We did it,” Turquoise said before Gible suddenly began to glow which indicated he was evolving. After a few moments, Gible was now a Gabite.

“Magneton return,” Jasmine said before recalling her Magneton. “You did well now rest. Congrats on your Gible evolving but the battle is not over yet.

“Thanks and couldn't agree more,” Turquoise said while checking her Pokedex to see if Gabite learned any new moves which luckily he did.

“Let’s see how you handle my next pokemon, Mawile come on out,” Jasmine said as she called out Mawile.

“Return Gabite,” Turquoise said as she recalled Gabite. “I may need you for later so just hang in there.

“Did you know my Mawile is part Fairy-type or is it because of how much damage Gabite took?” Jasmine asked.

“Both actually,” Turquoise said.

“Clever girl, what are you planning to use next?” Jasmine asked.

“This, Go Ninetails,” Turquoise said as she called out her Ninetails.

“Battle resume,” Janina said.

“Ninetails use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her Flamethrower which did not faze Jasmine at all.

“Mawile use Iron Defense. Mawile’s body suddenly became as hard as iron while giving off a sheen which reduced the damage from Flamethrower. “Now use Play Rough. Mawile ran towards Ninetails before playfully biting into her and throwing her around like a rag doll.

“Ninetails use Confuse Ray. Ninetail’s eyes glowed while her tails stiffened which managed to confuse Mawile. “Now use Fire Blast. Ninetails unleashed her Fire Blast which was heading straight towards Mawile who was stumbling around in a daze.

“Quick Mawile use Flash Cannon. Despite the confusion, Mawile was able to unleash flash cannon from her back mouth which pushed against the Fire Blast. Both moves kept pushing until in the end the Flash cannon broke through and nailed Ninetails for some decent damage.

“Impressive but we are not out just yet, Ninetails use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her flamethrower which like last time was going straight for Mawile.

“Mawile use Iron Defense. Jasmine was hoping her command would get through only to see Mawile hurt herself before the Flamethrower landed and finished Mawile off.

“Mawile is unable to battle Ninetails is the winner,” Janina said while pointing her right flag at Turquoise.

“Return Mawile,” Jasmine said as she recalled Mawile. “I must say your pretty good but let's see how you handle my ace in the hole.

“Bring it,” Turquoise said already knowing what it was.

“Steelix I chose you,” Jasmine said as she called out her Steelix who looked raring to go.

“I will stick with my Ninetails,” Turquoise said.

“So be it, Steelix use Autotomize. Steelix began to vibrate as if its body was being sharpened which resulted in some of its metal falling off making it lighter and faster. “Now use Iron Head. Steelix charged at Ninetails faster than a normal Steelix.

“Ninetails use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her Flamethrower on Steelix but despite all the damage it was taking, it kept charging until it nailed Ninetails with enough force to send her flying out of the battlefield and into the wall behind Turquoise where she fainted.

“Ninetails is unable to battle Steelix is the winner,” Janina said while pointing her left flag at Jasmine.

“Return Ninetails,” Turquoise said as she recalled her Ninetails. “You did great now rest. Turquoise wasted no time in deciding who to call next. “Go Gabite. As soon as Gabite took the field he still looked tired from his battle with Magneton. “Do your best Gabite.

“Steelix use Iron Tail,” Steelix’s tail suddenly glowed white before it was swung at Gabite.

“Dodge and use Dual Chop. Gabite managed to dodge the Iron Tail before delivering a Dual Chop on Steelix’s head which caused it to slam against the ground. “Now use Sand Tomb. Gabite unleashed a Sand Tomb big enough to trap Steelix in but could not maintain it for too long.

“Not bad but that won’t be enough to beat us. Steelix break free and use Iron Tail. Steelix broke free and managed to unleash iron Tail on Gabite which resulted in a successful hit and Gabite fainting.

“Gabite is unable to battle Steelix is the winner,” Janina said while pointing her left flag at Jasmine.

“Gabite return,” Turquoise said as she recalled her Gabite. “You gave it you're all now rest.

“I must say I rather enjoyed this battle so far,” Jasmine said.

“So have I,” Turquoise said.

“Then let's finish it. Call out your final pokemon,” Jasmine said.

“Go Lucario,” Turquoise said before calling out Lucario who looked ready to rock while Steelix was not at full strength due to the damage it sustained from the previous battles. Suddenly Jasmine went for the keystone in her barret which meant Turquoise knew where Jasmine was going.

“Dazzling Snake of Iron Mega evolve,” Jasmine said as Steelix mega evolved. Turquoise rubbed her keystone which connected with the Lucarionite in the gauntlet Lucario was wearing.

“Mighty Warrior of Aura mega evolve,” Turquoise said as Lucario began to change into its mega evolved form. As soon as he finished changing he looked ready to go.

“Time to begin. Steelix use Iron Head. Steelix charged at Lucario which Turquoise anticipated.

“Dodge and use Force Palm. Lucario dodged and managed to land a powerful Force palm on Steelix but wasn't enough to finish it.

“Steelix use Iron Tail while Lucario is still in range. Steelix managed to get off its Iron tail which sent Lucario flying but not out of the battlefield.

“Lucario use Bullet Punch. Lucario charged at Steelix ready to punch at it rapidly.

“Block those punches. Steelix used the metal plates that were surrounding it to block the Bullet punches which resulted in Steelix sustaining no damage from this attack. “Now use Flash Cannon. Steelix unleashed a beam of light on Lucario who managed to endure it since he was also a Steel-type.

“Lucario use Aura Sphere. Lucario unleashed his Aura Sphere which was flying towards Steelix.

“Block it. Steelix caused the plates to form a shield that blacked the Aura Sphere. “Now use Iron Head. Steelix lunged at Lucario and managed to inflict some more damage to him. Both pokemon were looking tired.

“Let’s end this. Lucario use Aura Sphere with all you got. Lucario put everything into his Aura Sphere which caused it to grow in size before being thrown.

“Steelix use Flash cannon with all you got. Steelix unleashed its flash cannon with all it had which caused both moves to collide and push against each other. Both moves pushed each other an inch before the Aura Sphere overpowered the Flash Cannon. “Steelix use your plates to block that. Steelix quickly formed its shield which looked like it was working until the Aura sphere broke through that as well which resulted in a successful hit that caused Steelix to revert back to its normal form after fainting.

“Steelix is unable to battle Lucario is the winner which means victory goes to Turquoise,” Janina said while pointing her right flag at Turquoise.

“We did it,” Turquoise said triumphantly as Lucario reverted back to normal. After recalling Steelix jasmine approached Turquoise.

“That was an excellent battle and as proof of your victory I present you with the Mineral badge,” Jasmine said before giving Turquoise a silver octagon-shaped badge with a white outline.

“Thank you,” Turquoise said.

“So where are you girls off to now?” Jasmine asked.

“To find the next Gym or Contest,” Turquoise said.

“Then may I suggest the gym in Mahogany Town?” Jasmine asked before Turquoise used her Pokegear to look it up on the map.

“Looks like we have quite the distance,” Turquoise said.

“The road to Mahogany Town will take you through Ecruteak City which is quite the tourist spot,” Janina said.

“We know we already been there,” Fluttershy said. After finishing up their conversation the girls returned to the pokemon center where after healing Ninetails and Lucario Turquoise exchanged them for Hunchkrow and Vespiquen. As soon as she finished coverage of Selena and her latest contest victory was being played.

“And that concludes our coverage of Selena winning her third ribbon in the Brass Town contest. Now we bring you the news you have been waiting for everyone. The next contest will be taking place in Ecruteak City so get ready for a historical time here in the most cultural city in Johto,” The news reporter said.

“Now we got a reason to return to Ecruteak,” Turquoise said. With their plans now finalized the girls called it a night. Where will our heroes go next? Find out as the journey continues.
