After a tasty breakfast of just a bowl of cereal, Sunset Shimmer heads for the reception desk to prepare for her third battle. She pushed the water drop uvon on the computer screen with Albert watching.
"So, you selected Seibold as your third opponent." Albert said. "He's passionate about water Pokémon as he is with cooking."
"Seibold is a chef?" Sunset asked.
"One of the best I've seen. You don't need to change your clothing this time. I'll give you time to exchange some of your Pokémon."
Five minutes later, Sunset enters through a door marked with a water drop. She looks around. The room is a basic arena. Across the way, is a young blond haired man wearing a white outfit.
"Hello, Sunset Shimmer." The young man said. "I am Seibold. I'm representing the Elite Four."
"A pleasure to meet you, sir." Sunset replied politely.
Just then, a woman with long red hair and wearing a navy blue wetsuit comes in. Sunset is a little confused.
"Isn't she a little out of place?" Sunset asked.
"This young lady is one of my great assistants in the kitchen." Seibold explained. "She is also a beach bunny."
"And, since my boss specializes in water Pokémon," The beach girl said, "what better outfit for me than a wetsuit. I do a little surfing on my time off."
"I guess it makes sense." Sunset said.
"If you're both ready, call your first Pokémon."
TRIAL 3: TRIAL BY WATER
"My first choice is Clawitzer." Seibold said.
Out pops a sea creature with a giant right claw. Sunset pulls out her Pokédex.
Clawitzer, the Howitzer Pokémon. The Pokédex said. It can shoot water from it's giant claw powerful enough to pierce through metal.
Sunset made her first choice. "Gogoat, I choose you."
Gogoat comes out to battle. Seibold makes the first move. "Clawitzer, use Water Pulse!"
Clawitzer fires a stream of water. Sunset quickly reacted. "Dodge it. Then, use Horn Leech."
Gogoat got close enough to drain some of Clawitzer's energy.
"Knock him off with Crabhammer!" Seibold said.
Clawitzer's big claw glowed and knocked Gogoat away. Seibold followed it up. "Close the deal with Vice Grip!"
Clawitzer clamped down on Gogoat. Sunset wasn't going to let this beat her.
"Let's do this, Gogoat." Sunset said. "Razor Leaf!"
Gogoat fired a bunch of leaves from close point range. The impact caused Clawitzer to faint.
"Clawitzer is unable to battle." The beach girl announced. "Gogoat wins."
"Clawitzer, return." Seibold said as he recalls his Pokémon. "Not a bad start. Now, here's my next choice. Go, Starmie!"
Out pops a starfish creature with ten limbs and a red jewel on its body. Sunset's Pokédex comes alive. Starmie, the Mysterious Pokémon. It pulses strange energy from the crystal on its body.
Sunset sees that her Gogoat is tired. She makes a decision. "Gogoat, return. I might need you later." She then makes her next choice. "Pikachu, I choose you!"
Pikachu comes out, ready for battle. Sunset makes the first move. "Pikachu, use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu zips across the field to attack Starmie.
"Starmie," Seibold said, "intercept Pikachu with Rapid Spin!"
Spinning fast, Starmie clashes into Pikachu. The Mouse Pokémon is pushed back. Seibold follows it up. "Use Swift!"
Starmie unleashed a barrage of stars at Pikachu.
"Quick, Pikachu!" Sunset called. "Intercept those stars with Electro Ball!"
Pikachu used its tail to unleash an electrical spark to crash through the Swift attack and strike Starmie. Seibold was in shock as the electric attack hits Starmie, and causes it to fall to the ground. When it's crystal started flashing, that means it's defeated.
"Starmie is unable to battle." The beach girl announced. "Pikachu wins!"
"Great work, Pikachu." Sunset cheered. "Two down, two to go."
Seibold recalls Starmie and gives Sunset a comment. "Don't be so confident. It's gets harder from here on out."
Pokémon Quiz

"Here comes my third Pokémon." Seibold said. "Gyarados!"
Gyarados comes out and stares at Pikachu. Sunset thought of a plan.
"Let's see if this'll work." Sunset said. "Pikachu, Quick Attack!"
Pikachu sped up to reach Gyarados. Seibold quickly reacted. "Gyarados, use Aqua Tail!"
Surrounding its tail with water, Gyarados strikes at Pikachu. Sunset then switched her strategy. "Quick. Pikachu. Nuzzle!"
Pikachu latched on to Gyarados and rubbed against its body.
"Throw Pikachu off," Seibold said, "then use Thrash!"
Gyarados threw Pikachu off, then slammed into him. The impact caused Pikachu to faint.
"Pikachu is unable to battle." The beach girl announced. "Gyarados wins!"
"Pikachu, return." Sunset said as she recalls her Pokémon. "Thanks, Pikachu. You set the stage perfectly." She then calls for her next Pokémon. "Zwellious, I choose you!"
Seibold looked at Zwellious come out, and is not impressed. "No offense, Sunset. But, this Zwellious doesn't look that powerful."
"You'd be surprised with what the proper training can do." Sunset replied.
"We'll see. Gyarados, use Ice Fang!"
Gyarados has a mouth full of ice. But, the electricity of Pikachu's Nuzzle stopped it in its tracks. Sunset then went for it. "Zwellious, use Dragon Rush!"
Surrounded by green energy, Zwellious charged into Gyarados. Soon, the Atrocious Pokémon fainted.
"Gyarados is unable to battle." The beach girl announced. "Zwellious wins."
"Gyarados, return." Seibold said. He then turns to Sunset. "The stories are true. You are truly dedicated to your Pokémon training."
"I sure am, Seibold." Sunset replied.
"Now, here's my last Pokémon. Go, Barbaracle!"
Barbaracle jumped out and confronted Zwellious. Sunset soon has an idea.
"Zwellious, return." Sunset said as she recalls her Pokémon. Then, she brings out a big surprise. "Venusaur, I choose you!"
Seibold was surprised to see this. "Going all out, I see."
"Yes, I am." Sunset replied. "In more ways than one."
"Barbaracle, use Cross Chop!"
Barbaracle's arms glowed, and it struck Venusaur hard. Sunset fought back. "Push 'em back, Venusaur. Use Razor Leaf!"
Venusaur fired a barrage of leaves to push Barbaracle back. Then, Sunset rubbed her bracelet and started chanting. "The bond between Pokémon and trainer is always to be special. Now, my blooming flower of power," Sunset then pressed the keystone, "MEGA EVOLVE!"
Seibold was shocked to see a Mega Evolution. He felt that he has to strike fast. "Barbaracle, use Mud Slap!"
Barbaracle fired globs of mud. But, Sunset didn't let that stop her. "Venusaur, use PETAL BLIZZARD!"
Venusaur unleashed a bunch of petals at Barbaracle. The impact caused The Collective Pokémon to faint.
"Barbaracle is unable to battle." The beach girl announced. "Venusaur wins! The winner of this battle is Sunset Shimmer from Canterlot City!"
Sunset rushed up to hug her friend. "Way to go, Venusaur!"
Venusaur wrapped its vines around Sunset, hugging her. Seibold recalls his Pokémon and can't help but smile. Later, Sunset is at the cafeteria, eating a platter of roasted vegetables. Dressed in his chef's outfit, Seibold stands by.
"These veggies are delicious." Sunset said happily . "You are indeed a good cook."
"Thank you, Sunset." Seibold replied. "And, you're a clever trainer. It was smart of you to have your Gogoat and Zwellious on standby in case Venusaur falls."
Sunset blushed. As she was tasting some mashed potatoes, Seibold gave her some information. "You have one member of the Elite Four left. And, I'm sure you know who it is if you learned about the four of us."
Seibold is right. This is the final obstacle in Sunset’s path to face the Pokémon Champion.
