With weeks to go before her battle with the Pokémon League, Sunset decides to spar with one of her friends. Pinkie Pie and her sisters were visiting the Sanctuary when they heard of Sunset being there. Sunset brought out her Toxicroak to battle Pinkie’s Haxorus.
"Toxicroak," Sunset called out, "Venoshock!"
Toxicroak spit out green globs of poison. Pinkie quickly reacted. "Dodge it, Haxorus. Then, use Dragon Claw."
Dodging the poison, Haxorus slashed Toxicroak. Limestone soon stopped the battle.
"Good reaction time, sis." Limestone praised. "You're learning about Pokémon battles nicely."
"Thanks, Limestone." Pinkie replied. "That battle with those Team Flare goons was a learning experience."
"True. Let's head back to the lab and see how Marble is doing."
The Pie sisters head out. Sunset and her friends decided to take a break.
"Are you getting nervous?" Izzy asked.
"A little." Sunset replied. "With my battle against the Pokémon League three weeks from today, I have to be ready for anything."
"Well said." Said the voice of a familiar person.
That person is Luster Dawn as she and her friends approach the heroic trio.
"Hey, Sunset." Smolder said. "What's up?"
INVASION OF THE DAZZLINGS
"Checking on us. Huh, Luster Dawn?" Sunset asked.
"Of course." Luster answered. "Ever since Starlight and Dr. Fauna gave us our Pokémon, we've been understanding your approach on training Pokémon."
"I'm glad that we finally learned our lesson." Ocelus added. "Now, we know you're no longer a despicable character."
Sunset blushed as Izzy spoke up. "Speaking of training, how are your Pokémon?"
"They're pretty good." Luster replied as she took out a Poké Ball. "Check it out."
Out pops a disc type creature with magnets. Sunset soon took out her Pokédex. "A Magnezone. The Magnet Area Pokémon."
Magnezone, the Magnet Area Pokémon and the evolved form of Magneton. The Pokédex said. It flies through the air by way of magnetism. Often mistaken for a UFO.
Smolder calls for her own Pokémon. "Here's another one for you to study."
Out pops a blue dragon creature with red wings. Sunny Starscout was surprised. "No way. A Salamence."
Sunset’s Pokédex comes alive. Salamence, the Dragon Pokémon and the evolved form of Shelgon. Finally able to fly, it can be a bit rowdy in the air.
"Last, but not least," Ocelus said as she takes out a Poké Ball, "this!"
Out pops a purple insect that towers over the girls.
"It's a Scolipede, the Megapede Pokémon." Izzy said.
"It's freaky looking." Sunny said as Sunset checks out this Pokémon.
Scolipede, the Megapede Pokémon and the evolved form of Whirlipede. Said the Pokédex. The claws near its head can grasp its victims tightly to administer the poison.
"True, Scolipede may look like a nightmare image, Sunny." Ocelus said. "But, when trained right, this powerful insect can be helpful."
"Ocelus does have a point." Sunset said.
Just then, Limestone comes to the group.
"Hey, girls!" Limestone calls out. "Starlight and Dr. Fauna want you guys to come to the lab."
"What's wrong, Limestone?" Sunset asked.
"The Sanctuary is invaded by your old enemies, Sunset."
Sunset got nervous, knowing who Limestone is talking about. "The Dazzlings. They're at it again!"

The six girls arrived at the lab where Dr. Fauna was waiting.
"Thank goodness you girls are here." Dr. Fauna said with relief.
"What's going on?" Sunny asked.
"Check out the monitor." Starlight replied.
They looked at footage from security cameras. Just as Sunset figured, it is the Dazzlings. This made Sunset mad. "How dare they invade this Sanctuary!"
"These creeps are harassing people and Pokémon alike." Starlight explained. "Check these scenes."
One scene showed Adagio Dazzle causing havoc at a lake. By her side is a rock creature with extra claws near his head throwing rocks and scartng the water Pokémon.
"Looks like Adagio's Binacle has evolved into a Barbaracle." Sunset said as she studied this creature.
Barbaracle, the Collective Pokémon and the evolved form of Binacle. The Pokédex said. Made up of a group of several Binacle. The limbs don't always listen to the head.
The scene changes to Aria Blaze and a scraggly kelp type creature tangling the Grass Pokémon.
"Aria's Skrelp evolved into a Dragalge." Izzy noticed.
Sunset's Pokédex gave some information. Dragalge, the Mock Kelp Pokémon and the evolved form of Skrelp. It has a poison so corrosive, it melts metal.
Finally, they see Sonata Dusk having a pelican spray water on visitors.
"And, Sonata's Wingull evolved into Pelipper." Sunny said.
Sunset checked out this Pokémon. Pelipper, the Water Bird Pokémon and the evolved form of Wingull. It can store many things in its well developed beak.
"There is no end to their mischief." Sunset figured.
"Dr. Fauna!" Derpy called as she rushed into the room. "The Dazzlings are in the beach area."
All six girls agreed that the Dazzlings had to be stopped. Later, the nasty trio look at people and Pokémon panicking. This pleases them.
"Look at these suckers." Adagio said viciously. "Running for their lives."
"You said it, Adagio." Aria agreed. "Soon, we'll take over this whole Sanctuary!"
As the vicious Sirens laughed evilly, a bunch of leaves struck Barbaracle. They turned and saw Sunset on top of a Gogoat.
"You have crossed the line this time, Adagio!" Sunset said angrily.
"It's Sunset Shimmer!" Adagio Dazzle noticed. "And, she's riding a Gogoat."
"I'll bet her Skidoo evolved." Aria guessed.
As Sunset and Gogoat rode to confront the Dazzlings, Sonata stepped up. "I'll handle this. Pelipper, use Gust on that Gogoat!"
Just as Pelipper is ready to unleash a powerful wind, Luster shows up.
"Not so fast, Sonata Dusk." Luster announced. "Magnezone, Thunderbolt attack."
Magnezone unleashed an electrical attack on Pelipper, seeing this, Aria made her move. "Dragalge, strike at Gogoat with Poison Tail!"
But, Smolder shows up to stop that attack. "Salamence, use Dragon Claw!"
Salamence slashed Dragalge. Sunset's friends, Izzy and Sunny showed up to back her up while Ocelus joins up with Luster.
"Go, Gardevoir!" Sunset called out.
"Kirlia, Let's go!" Izzy said.
Gardevoir and Kirlia popped out to battle. Suddenly, Kirlia sensed something from Sunset’s backpack, and reached into it.
"Hey!" Sunset gasped. "What's going on?"
Kirlia jumped down holding a teal oval stone with a light teal star in it. Sunset was shocked. "I found that stone in one of the caves while traveling."
"It's a Dawn Stone!" Sunny realized.
Kirlia and the Dawn Stone glowed. When the glowing stopped, the Dawn Stone is gone. And Kirlia became more like a soldier.
"I must have had a MALE Ralts all this time." Izzy said.
"How do you mean?" Smolder wondered.
"When a male Kirlia is exposed to a Dawn Stone, he evolves into a Gallade."
"So, that's a Gallade." Sunset said as she pulls out her Pokédex.
Gallade, the Blade Pokémon and the evolved form of the male Kirlia. The Pokédex said. It uses it's sword like arms to defend itself against opponents.
"Big deal." Adagio scoffed as she gives a command. "Barbaracle, use Cross Chop!"
Barbaracle crossed his arms to attack. Izzy reacted. "Gallade, use Magical Leaf!"
Gallade sent a bunch of leaves to hit the Collective Pokémon hard. Then, the Dazzlings got another surprise.
"Gardevoir!" Sunset called out.
"Gallade!" Izzy said.
They both called out an attack on the foes. "PSYCHIC ATTACK, NOW!"
Gardevoir and Gallade fired a blast of psychic powers at Barbaracle. He then collided with the Dazzlings, causing them all to be shot into the sky.
"This must be what Team Rocket goes through!" Aria yelled.
"Is there a meal on this flight?" Sonata asked stupidly.
Adagio got disgusted with that last comment. "Shut up, Sonata."
Later that night, Sunset and Starlight have a little one on one time.
"Let's hope that the Dazzlings won't come back here." Starlight said with relief.
"You and me both." Sunset replied.
"Now, you and your friends can concentrate on getting prepared for the Pokémon League."
"Roger that."
And so, Sunset, Izzy, and Sunny return for their destiny with the Pokémon League. Luster Dawn and her partners left the sanctuary, knowing that Sunset will be ready for anything.
