//------------------------------// // Biting Idol // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Equestria. Ponyville. SugarCube. Afternoon. "You were right when you said it looks like something out of a storybook." Carlita had just arrived at Equestria, courtesy of Ash and Pikachu. "Equestria's a neat place. Food's almost as good as mom's cooking too." "You haven't seen anything yet, Carlita," Ash replied, stuffing his mouth with food. "Isn't that right, Pinkie?" "Got that right, Ash. So you're a Dragon Trainer, right?" "I sure am. Well, not a full-time one anyway. But I do have the light." Carlita held her hand out to Pinkie, showing her the golden glow of the draconic light. "Neat, isn't it?" "Oooh...It's brighter than Spike's." Pinkie gazed into her hand. "Then again, I guess Iris' was also brighter." "I gotta make a quick trip to Canterlot. Celestia and Luna gotta know about the Dread League before things get out of hand. I'll leave everything to you, Carlita." "Aye, aye, sir!" Pinkie Pie would take care of things, opting to help Carlita. Ash and Pikachu departed from SugarCube Corner as Carlita was left to her own devices in Ponyville. "So. Who's Spike?" "Glad you asked!" Pinkie Pie grabbed Carlita's arm. "I'll take you to meet him right now." "Mew!" Mew popped out of Pinkie's mane, greeting Carlita promptly. "Mew?!" Carlita pulled back. Much like any other human, she would have a reasonable reaction to Mew of all Pokemon and his sudden appearance. But it wasn't just him. The second Mew had shown herself, also resting in Pinkie's mane. "Another one?! What's Mew doing here?!" "Ah, these are my friends! Mew and Mewie." Pinkie Pie giggled. "One of them's my Pokemon and the other's a friend staying around for a while. Can you guess which one?" "How do you just have Mew with you?!" "Ah, don't worry about it." The party pony hopped over Carlita, landing near the exit. "Come on. Let's have it be Dragon to Dragon. Dragon Trainers that is. But he's a Dragon too." "Wait. He's a dragon?" Carlita got off of her seat. Now her interest was truly piqued. But the appearance of two Mews still took the cake. Speaking of cake, it had been left on the table with one of Pinkie Pie's Slurpuff's slowly sneaking up on this pastry meal. Free to eat since Carlita left it behind. Twilight's Lab. Afternoon. Speaking of Spike, at this moment, he and Deino were undergoing some biting exercises. Deino's goal was to have the best biting strength possible and Spike, including all of his Dragon-Types encouraged it. "Okay, then. Throw it Goodra!" "Goo!" Goodra's horns were wrapped around a steel beam. Courtesy of the Gurdurr living in PokePark. It gave up one of its steel beams just to have Deino test her strength. "Dei...No!" Deino's mouth opened as wide as it could. And with perfect timing, she managed to catch the steel beam which was larger and longer than her body. But that didn't matter to this daring Dragon-Type. "Deino...!" Once the beam was in her mouth, Deino began using every amount of her biting strength on it with her non-existent teeth. "Come on, Deino! Let's prove that you can break through even steel!" "No...!" "Is she going to do it?" Twilight wondered as she and BigTime Ben were observing Deino's biting practice sessions. They were curious if Deino's biting strength could reach the level of crushing metal itself. Progress had been shown. A crack was formed on the beam that made everyone gasp. Deino put everything she had into it and it was starting to pay off. Carlita and Pinkie Pie had shown up at Twilight's Castle, walking into the training session. Carlita stood there amazed by what she was seeing. A Deino, biting against a steel beam of all things. "What's going on here?" Carlita asked. "Deino's practising her biting strength. She wants to have the best bite in the world. A weird goal, but one worth shooting for you, don't you think?" Pinkie Pie explained as Deino's legs were trembling. The crack was starting to spread at a slow pace, showing that Deino had the capability to damage it and potentially shatter it. But unfortunately, that's all that Deino could muster as her jaws gave out. "Deino." She dropped the steel beam, only managing to get a mild crack in the process. "Oh..." Spike and the others sighed. "Well, at least you made a crack through it all. Good job, Deino." "Dei-Dei." "Gurdurr." Gurdurr went over to its steel beam, raising it to see the damaged crack. The Muscular Pokemon wondered if it could battle with this. A direct hit against a Pokemon or an incoming attack could potentially shatter it. "Ah, we'll build you another one, Gurdurr," said BigTime Ben. "Don't you worry." "That was impressive!" Carlita applauded Deino's efforts. "I've never seen a Deino do that! I'd expect a middle stage evolution to pull that off." "It is impressive, isn't it?" Twilight turned to Carlita. "Uh...Who are you actually?" "This right here's Carlita!" Pinkie Pie appeared on Carlita's shoulder, introducing the girl from Eindoak. "The one that Ash mentioned. Straight from Unova in Eindoak." "So this is Carlita. One of the People of the Vale?" said Twilight. "That's me. First time visiting here, princess." The Dragon Trainer from Eindoak greeted with a peace sign and wink. "Great to be here already." "Afternoon!" Spike greeted, walking over to Deino, who still felt some pain in her jaws. "Are you okay, Deino?" "Dei-Dei." "Thanks for your help, Gurdurr. You can head back to PokePark now." Twilight ordered as Gurdurr served its purpose. It only came here to help Deino's training session as it had left with a damaged beam. Repairs would soon be done once it returns home. "So you're Spike, right?" Carlita kneeled to face the baby dragon. "Wow, you're...adorable!" Amazed by Spike and how different he looked from the dragons in the Pokemon World caused Carlita to grab him by the face. "Gooouh!" Spike's face had been puffed with Carlita easily picking him up. "You didn't tell me the dragons of this world were this cute, Pinkie!" Carlita giggled, mushing Spike's cheeks. "Are they all like this?!" "Well, Spike's a baby dragon. And he's the only baby dragon we've seen." Pinkie Pie shrugged as Spike felt trapped, unable to move within Carlita's grasp. "Y-You're squeezing my face..." "Oh! Sorry!" Carlita promptly placed him down. Allowing Spike to breathe. The baby dragon held his face, seeing if something was still intact. "He doesn't look like a baby though," Carlita said. "Doesn't act like one either." "Well, in this world, baby dragons are different to actual babies. They've got some maturity in them." Twilight explained. "Plus, it's also because...you know, it's best I don't go too in-depth with it." "But anyway! Aside from that..." Carlita stood up, jumping back to the topic she wanted to discuss in the first place. Deino's recent training session. "I saw what your Deino did. So, you want her to have the best bite ever, you say? Could it be that...if she gets this good as a Deino, how would she be like as a Zweilous and Hydreigon?" "That's what I was thinking too." The baby dragon nodded in confirmation. "Ya see, Deino's gonna bite harder than a Zweilous the way she is right now. And when she becomes a Zweilous, the strength of a Hydreigon is what she'll get and then after that...well you get the idea." "Spike said it better than I would've put it," said Twilight. "Deino also wants to bite as hard as Dracovish. By far the Pokemon with the strongest bite in the world. If she can match that then there's nothing she can't chew her way through." "That is pretty big and weird at the same time. I like it!" Carlita laughed. "But, I want to see how true that is. How good is your Deino's biting strength now?" "Almost enough to bite through a steel beam as you saw. Just a bit more and Deino's reaching new heights." Spike patted the Irate Pokemon on the head. "Hm-hm. In that case...I'd like to see how it stacks to my Hydreigon." Carlita held out her Poke Ball, sending out the final stage of the Deino Evolution Line. The Brutal Pokemon Hydreigon. A Shiny to boot. "Hydreigon!" "Deino...!" Deino was immediately starstruck upon seeing her final evolution. This was a natural reaction from other Pokemon that witness their final evolutions for the first time. "This right here is what you want to try and look up to, Deino." Carlita walked over. "I can promise you this. My Hydreigon could snap a piece of the road in two if he wanted." "Hydrei!" "Deino!" "Uhh..." Twilight stood there stunned, quivering in her hooves for a bit. Carlita soon noticed this, wondering why Twilight was shaking all of a sudden. "Sorry. Hydreigon's just a Pokemon that's a bit um...nerve-wracking." "It's fine." Carlita gave an understanding shrug. "I get what you mean. I mean, who wouldn't be nervous around this powerhouse. Right, partner?" "Dreigon!" Hydreigon had roared, spewing out fire from his mouth. It almost touched the ceiling with Twilight backing away. Deino attempted to do the same with her mouth, but she didn't have the moves available to do so. "I'll need some objects, okay? Anything hard and tough to break. And Deino's gonna watch Hydreigon completely tear through them." Carlita announced. "Deino!" Deino was already on it, focusing on the first object. Or rather, a batch of the same objects. Books. She immediately turned to the bookshelves, dashing over to grab a stack of them. "No-no-no-no!" Twilight and Espeon got in front of the Irate Pokemon. Seeing her go for the books gave Twilight bad memories of when some of her books had been chewed up by Deino ever since her goal was revealed. "Books are off-limit, Deino. Mainly my books." "Espeon." "Even so, a book's not gonna be enough of a challenge." Carlita shrugged her arms, shaking her head as she had extreme confidence in Hydreigon. And why wouldn't she? Considering how powerful he was. "Just show me the best of what you have. That's all. And I can guarantee, it'll all crumble in the face of Hydreigon." "Hydreigon!" This would be done outside on the streets of Ponyville. Hydreigon hovered there with many ponies gazing at it. It was their first time witnessing such a ferocious Pokemon. Seeing Hydreigon only reminded them of Ghetsis' Hydreigon and how infamous it had become. Objects had been gathered by Twilight, Pinkie and Spike. Objects hard enough to the point where only Pokemon moves could break them and perhaps other tools. But for Hydreigon, he wouldn't need Pokemon Moves at all. Just his bare mouth. Various metals from Ponyville were gathered from the spot as well as hard objects of various substances such as a kitchen sink, a tossed out lamp post, a piano and more. Stopping by to see this hodge-podge of items were Applejack, Rarity and Fluttershy while also glancing at the Brutal Pokemon. "There. Will all of these do?" Twilight asked. "Perfect." Carlita rubbed her hands. "They'll do just fine." "What's all this then?" Rarity asked Twilight before walking over. "Are you having a yard sale of some sort?" "Ah, this is just one of Deino's Biting Practices. But in this case, it's Hydreigon who'll be doing all the biting." Twilight explained. "Carlita's Hydreigon. You know Carlita, right?" "The girl Ash mentioned yes." Rarity nodded. "And who Rainbow Dash befriended not too long ago." "Here's what we'll do." Carlita held the piano, using a ton of her muscle strength to keep it up. "Hydreigon will break an object and I want Deino to try doing the same thing on the same object. Got that, Spike?" "I got it." "Okay then. Go Hydreigon!" Carlita focused the piano on the Brutal Pokemon. "Hydrei...Gon!" Hydreigon bit away. With his mouth open, he immediately sunk them into the piano without hesitating and wasting any time. And in just one second, just like that, the piano had shattered. The group were stunned in awe by the speed that which the piano had been broken and the power behind it. Deino's heart skipped a beat from that devastating bite as the shock of Hydreigon biting into it caused the entire piano to crumble. All those piano keys were flying with some of them bumping Deino's head. "Deino..." "Whoops!" Carlita fumbled. "Uhh...Guess Deino can't bite into that object. Hehe." A mistake had been made. The piano wouldn't be used for Deino as all of it was now demolished. But that only proved how ferocious Hydreigon's bite was. "Let's hold back a bit, okay, Hydreigon?" "Hydrei." Hydreigon would have to hold back some of his strength Once he did so, the next batch of items would be bitten into. And thus began another training session for Deino. A lamp post had been to them by Fluttershy with Hydreigon being the first to break it. Holding back allowed him to partially break the lamp post as he then passed it on to Deino. Deino was ready to see if she could do the same with her mouth connecting with the lamp post. While Hydreigon held back, Deino did not. Her jaws were being pushed to their limit with Deino using everything she had. Successfully, she managed to break one side of it. Deino successfully pulled it off, granting her some applause. The next batch of items were sent over by Twilight and the others with Hydreigon once again starting off and Deino picking up where he left off. Items were being broken left and right as Twilight and her friends passed them over in levels. From the least durable to the most durable, just to see how far they can go. This little training session grabbed the attention of other ponies and Pokemon, catching their attention. It was a bizarre sight to see, but oddly satisfying seeing the way these items broke. With each item that was bitten into, Hydreigon broke it in a second while Deino would take some time. One of those examples came from a metal bar. Hydreigon, as to be expected, crushed it. As for Deino, she picked up where she left off with Gurdurr's steel beam, hoping to see if she could successfully pull it off. And thanks to Gurdurr's steel beam from before and all the other items she ended up biting into minutes ago, she managed to shatter the bar. "Deino! You broke through metal!" Spike exclaimed as everyone congratulated Deino. "Deino." Deino smiled; if it was easy to tell when she was smiling, looking up at her idol Hydreigon. "Hydreigon." Hydreigon couldn't exactly give a thumbs-up or even pull off a smile like Deino since they both had the same stagnant mouth. But, Deino could understand that Hydreigon was proud of her as the Brutal Pokemon gave a head pat with his head arms. "Hy-Hydrei." "Dei-Dei!" Deino was happy to hear that as her face blushed with happiness. "What a champ!" Applejack and everyone applauded. "Mhm!" Fluttershy nodded in agreement. "Pokemon can adapt and learn so fast, can't they?" "This Deino's hard work is paying off." Carlita kneeled to face the Irate Pokemon. And it's totally gonna pay off in the future too. I wonder if there's anything harder we can try?" "Well...there's one other material." Twilight aimed her head to the skies, thinking of a material that was almost impossible to destroy unless under a certain effect. She thought about Dynasite. Material from Pegalysium. "Deino..." But, that was as far as Deino could go. Her jaws twitched from everything she's bitten into, causing the Dark-Dragon-Type to fall over. She felt like sleeping and now was the time. "Dei...Dei..." "Oh. That's it for her." Spike observed as Axew went over to pick her up. "But she did great. All that help was great Carlita." "No problem." Carlita laughed. "Maybe later, you and I can have a battle. Deino against Hydreigon. What do you say?" "Yes please!" Spike nodded without hesitation. " So wait...are you leaving?" "Nope. I still have more to see in this world. Ash brought me over for that after all. And come to think of it..." Carlita stood up, pondering for a moment. "Rainbow Dash is here too, right? This world's Rainbow Dash. Been a bit. Where is she?" "Rainbow Dash isn't here right now," said Fluttershy. "She went over to Canterlot for her own training session." "Hm? What would that be?" Carlita asked. "To train with Princess Celestia." Twilight stepped forward. "They both share something that Ash also has. The Bond Phenomenon. Rainbow Dash figured she could work alongside Princess Celestia and Ash to perfect the Bond Phenomenon without any issues." "What's a Bond Phenomenon?" Carlita had another question that needed to be answered. The mystery that was the Bond Phenomenon to her. Canterlot Gardens. Afternoon. Speaking of Canterlot, Ash and Pikachu had just shown up there as well. Important information needed to be spread about the Dread League and who better to do it than the one who's encountered them twice in a row so far. Ash was told by the Canterlot Guards that Celestia could be found at the Canterlot Guardians right now instead of her throne room. And the one with her at the gardens was Rainbow Dash, as correctly said by Twilight. She and Celestia were indeed undergoing their own training session. "Oh. What's happening here?" Ash asked after arriving at the Canterlot Gardens. He saw that just Passion and Braviary were out right now. "Ash. Perfect timing for you to be here." Celestia replied. "As you can see, we're both practising the Bond Phenomenon." "Mhm. I took what you said last week when we were training on that Psychic-Type-shaped island, Ash. And I want to perfect it, ya know." said Rainbow Dash. "You have perfected it, Ash. Mind helping us out?" The Ruler of Equestria asked. "Love to! But I have something important to share first, Celestia." Ash immediately switched focus to the reason he came here. Something far more pressing than the Bond Phenomenon. "It's about the Dread League." "Dread League?" Celestia's eyes narrowed as a serious tone immediately met with her. She started thinking about that name. The Dread League. It almost escaped her, but there was some familiarity to it. "How do you know about that...?" "Pikachu and I kinda bumped into them two times now. Vampires and all. Glad that you know who they are." "I do. But I haven't heard about them since I was a filly. So...centuries. And you encountered them? Especially the vampires?" "Just the vampires. And the demons count too I think." He answered, wondering if the demons did count since they originated from Tartarus. "First, it was Kalos and later, it was at the Human World. They're all shooting for one thing. Finding Yveltal." "Yve-Y-Wha?" Much like others, Rainbow Dash found it difficult to pronounce the name of this Legendary Pokemon. "What is this Yveltal?" Celestia easily got the name perfected just like that. "And why would they want it?" "Yveltal's a Legendary Pokemon that has the power to cause destruction by absorbing life energy. Pikachu and I also met it years back. They've been looking for all information about Yveltal for a while now. It's a good thing we managed to get them away from it." "Pikachu." "Oh." Celestia didn't need to hear anything else. "That much is clear. If that's what this Pokemon does, then I can see why they'd want it. Alright. Thank you for this, Ash. I'll see to this situation as soon as I can." "I know you will, Celestia. But uh, about the Bond Phenomenon. You guys want help, right? Well...I don't think I'm gonna be the best one to do it right now." Ash shrugged. "Huh? But you helped me with it a year back. Or was it 2 years?" Rainbow Dash replied. "I can, but I still don't have Greninja with me. He's busy. But I know someone else who can help!" Ash put his arms together, knowing of the best individual to go to. "Professor Sycamore!" "Professor Sycamore?" The two ponies repeated. "Oh yeah. He's the one who found out about the Bond Phenomenon and what it was when researching it. He'll definitely help you with it. At least, I think. Plus, you've got the ability to fuse with Passion, Celestia. So it's definitely something that Sycamore's gotta know about it. "Hm-hm-hm." Celestia nodded to Ash's suggestion. "Yes. A Pokemon Professor would do perfectly. Mine is different from yours and Rainbow Dash, so it is worth looking into." "Yeah. But you've experienced it, Ash. So you're still gonna help, right?" "For sure! Wouldn't miss it for a second!" It was official. Professor Sycamore, with the assistance of Ash, would help the two ponies with their Bond Phenomenon while also figuring out what Celestia's version of the Bond Phenomenon was that allowed her and Passion to become Celestial-Gardevoir. It was off to Lumiose City in the Kalos Region. Two different training sessions. One had already finished which was Deino's and the other was just getting started AKA Celestia and Rainbow Dash as the journey continues. Chapter 763 End.
