My Little Pokémon

Short: Harmonia's Inherited Will

Equestria. Ponyville. Twilight's Castle. Afternoon.

It has been only 30 minutes ever since Rarity brought BigTime Ben to Equestria for a sole reason. Currently, he was another target for the Rift. After finding out that he was another Rift Creation, BigTime Ben had been brought over to Twilight's Castle to learn how to control this form of magic he didn't know he possessed until recently.

Twilight was the best option to teach him, in the eyes of Rarity. She was the teacher of Cold Colt and to an extension Jade Skies. So coming to her was a sure-fire choice.

"So glad to have you as my student! I didn't think I'd be teaching you though. Or anypony older than me. I mean Starlight and me are the same age. This is new."

"Ah, glad to be here, Twilight. Hope you can help me through it all." He chuckled in response. "Say. How have you been doing with the Pokemon over at PokePark?"

"Uhh...I barely get enough time to see them. I've got the Pokemon School and a bit of back and forth with Pegalyisum and all that plus we still have threats from parallel universes and...I just can't see that much. The best I can do is the Cove Area and Verdant Court."

"Ah, it's fine. I'm sure you'll find the time. I haven't seen them in a while so it will be nice to revisit them all." He replied before checking out Twilight's category of books. A massive category. Gothitelle met with Espeon as both Psychic-Types ended up greeting each other via a Psychic connection. Their eyes both flashed blue, similar to how Electric-Types greet each other via an electric touch.

"So, do you know everything about Pokemon at this point with all of these books?" Ben browsed through the history books.

"Wish I did. But even with so many of them, there's still so much that the Pokemon World has to offer. From the past to the present and possibly even the future." Twilight replied, shaking her head. "But that makes it all the more fun to learn about them."

"Hm-hm. You've probably read this book then." Ben held a fairly sizable book in his hands. "Legends of Unova 2?"

"I only read the first one. I just got the second one a few weeks back." The Princess of Friendship fluttered towards the thick book. "The Heroes of Truth and Ideals are already in the first one among other figures."

"I see." He opened the book, looking through the contents before then skipping to a specific page. "Then, how about this legend? Heard of her?" He showed the page to Twilight, revealing a familiar figure, mainly in the hair category.

"Who's that?" Twilight looked closely at the lady in the picture as she recognized her hair. After a few seconds of processing it, she noticed it to be identical to Ghetsis' hair. "That hair looks like Ghetsis' hair!"

"It should. There's a big connection to him with the lady you see in the book."

"Wait! Is this...Harmonia?" Twilight recalled how Spike managed to learn about Harmonia via words from Drayden. He learned about the ancestor of Ghetsis' family line, Harmonia. The reason why Ghetsis' last name existed. "So that's what she looked like.

"Indeed. The famous figure from long ago who owned a kingdom that may have been small but was fairly influential in some parts. Isn't it interesting how descendants can differ from their ancestors?"

"Yeah...It certainly is something..." Twilight nodded slowly as the stark contrast between Ghetsis and Harmonia was staggering. "I learned about the battle she took part in. Legendary Pokemon and Mythical Pokemon were involved in them weren't they?"

"Correct. But it was a triumphant victory for Harmonia's kingdom, thankfully."

"I should've started reading this soon if I knew that she would be in here."

"Well, here's your chance then. To learn more about Harmonia and who she was." Ben and Twilight would sit tight with all attention being drawn to the pages of Harmonia. Information about her would certainly carry over to the next one.

Unova Region. The Harmonia Kingdom. 800 Years Ago.

Long ago, centuries ago, there lived a Kingdom. A great and ancient kingdom known as the Harmonia Kingdom. The Unova Region had its fair share of kingdoms and this was certainly one of them that used to exist.

And the ruler of this kingdom was none other than Harmonia. And this kingdom she made was formed by absolute unity. Sitting near a massive range of mountains that mimicked the shape of Togekiss was this kingdom. A massive castle stood at the centre as craters that seemed to mimic something of moon craters could also be seen residing next to the castle. Living in these craters which were full of plants and nature were Pokemon. And of course, living alongside them were humans.

Seven skinny, round towers form a protective wall on two sides of the castle and are connected by towering, massive walls made of light blue stone. Simple windows are scattered here and there across the walls in an asymmetric pattern, along with overhanging crenelations. Trees grew close to the castle gates and provide it with valuable wood for all sorts of purposes. This castle shows signs of decay after being around for ages even before Harmonia founded this kingdom, but its inhabitants are determined to repair any weaknesses to make sure this castle will be around for ages to come.

This great kingdom seemed like a dreamland. Flying above it were various Flying-Types native to the Unova Region but even Pokemon from other regions could be seen showing up as well as on the land. Currently, the people and Pokemon who lived in harmony here were working together to build something.

"Cofagrigus." Cofagrigus had used its four arms to hold hammers, smashing them down on an array of nails with precision. Helping that Cofagrigus were humans and some Duosion, Sigilyph and Reuniclus with their Psychic abilities.

"Min! Minccino!" The Minccino and Cinccino would clean up any dirt made via the construction of this building. Being the guardians of this kingdom were Bisharp and Pawniward, as to be expected along with human guards with ancient armour. But this place was barely if anything, ever under threat from how wonderful it was. And watching the humans and Pokemon build was the one who founded it. Harmonia.

A lady that many called the Great Joy. Or the One Who Brings Smiles. As the titles suggested, she was a figure that focused on making others happy, giving them freedom and smiles on their faces.

Her throne room sat on the top of a massive castle with a window to see everything outside. She watched them all build this building in perfect unison while some shenanigans went down. Standing next to her were various Pokemon that were always beside her. Some were native to Unova but others came from different regions. All of them were guardians and friends to Harmonia.

And atop her throne room, a symbol could be seen. This symbol was consistent throughout the kingdom as it helped to signify its identity. The Sun. The symbol of the Sun was also surrounded by ten wings in a perfect circle.

This symbol of the Sun combined with ten surrounding wings perfectly represented the absolute dawn of a shining world that Harmonia envisioned. However, despite this wonderful peace, Harmonia looked beyond that. Something that she wished to achieve and spread.

"Your majesty. You look slightly static so far. Is something the matter?" One of the people of this ancient kingdom asked.

"Apologies. I was in a bit of a daydreaming state." Harmonia replied. "I was starting at the future. Far past ours and many others."

"The future? Can you perceive time?!" Many people and Pokemon gasped.

"No. I wish." Harmonia chuckled. "I meant to say I was looking to the future. A future greater than what we have here."

"A greater future than this? How so? You've already made it the best it could be, your majesty."

"Yes. You set out to unite so many of us and create this kingdom under a new dawn." The people all commented, praising Harmonia for her great accomplishment.

"I did. But at the end of the day, it is all still small in comparison to this massive world we live in. I have other goals that I wish to see fulfilled. Harmony and peace are something that stand out more than anything. They're permanent, but they can't be maintained perfectly forever."

"That's true..." A guardsman commented, pondering for a bit "Hisui has its fair share of problems with the Pokemon living there. The Alpha Pokemon are terrifying forces as well."

"That can be said for other regions." Harmonia nodded. "Including ours. Living with these Strange and Wonderful creatures was never easy. That's why I want to spread my influence to all of them. Or at least hope for someone else to do the same."

"The whole world...is that possible?"

"Nothing is impossible." She wagged her finger before petting a Pikachu on the head. The Pikachu then ran off after receiving that comforting pat. "But...It's not like me to bring rather glum news. I am afraid I will not be the one to realize that goal."

"Huh?! What do you mean?!" They all shouted.

"You did it for us! Why not everywhere else?"

"Your majesty. Surely you're joking." A villager chuckled. "You can do it, no doubt. How could you not? You brought us all great joy so effortlessly, did you not?"

"I am flattered by your words. Truth is, when I sought out my goal, I had hoped to do it for the entire world. Every region possible united and brought together under one Sun. I was only given the title of the Great Joy for doing just that for different regions I had visited. Sadly, even when visiting them, it isn't quite enough to unite them all."

"Then we can try again. Your influence has already been spreading to seemingly Kanto and Alola first. We can cover the other regions." Another villager suggested.

"I plan to do that. I wouldn't give up so easily. However, my main worries come from how long it could last." Harmonia closed her eyes. "Like I said. Peace and harmony are permanent and forever, but they cannot be maintained always. There will always be something there to throw it off. No matter how many days, years, months or years pass by."

"That's true..." The people lowered their tones, knowing this all to be the harsh truth. Such wonderful concepts could never be held together permanently.

"But...that's why there are those who can help maintain it." Harmonia then turned to a Xatu that was within the air. She looked up at the Mystic Pokemon who also gazed back. "Isn't that right, Xatu?"

"Xatu." Xatu understood her. Harmonia could even effortlessly talk to Pokemon, acting as a translator for them. In fact, she spoke to Xatu from afar with a lowered voice and even still, Xatu could hear her.

"You have to teach us your powerful voice that can communicate with Pokemon someday your majesty." A guard asked as many of them would like to have that skill.

"What did Xatu say?" Three children asked.

"Xatu told me that it had already looked to the future." She kneeled to face the children. "Something that will make you all happy with what's to come."

"What? What?" The children spoke in unison, jumping up and down.

"I won't be the only Great Joy." She revealed to everyone, watching how the residents of her kingdom continued crafting this building, living their lives in a way that Harmonia was satisfied with. Something she wished to see everywhere.

"Another one will come?!"

"Not just one more. Two more. Two Great Joys will come someday." Harmonia then stood up, looking to the skies. "Those that can do what I had set out to do. Possibly even better."

"Oooh..." The children along with a few others gawked in amazement at her words. "Better than you?"

"Mm. Inherited will. A the reams of others. Not just people and Pokemon but potentially even beyond that. Possibly within the stars themselves. Everyone in existence values dreams that they aim to achieve. As long as everyone keeps searching for the meaning of their dreams, they will never cease to be. That is one way to achieving harmony in some way."

"So someone else will inherit your will?"

"Without them knowing it would be my will." Harmonia twirled her hair, thinking of the future. It made her heart melt with joy and happiness. And especially hope.

"Ah, I bet it will be your descendants, right? You have a child coming soon, your majesty."

"Maybe. Or maybe not." Harmonia gave out a soft smile. "I'm getting old too, aren't I? I certainly don't look old, but even I know I won't keep it up for long. And by then...I may not have accomplished my dream for the entire world, but there will be those who carry on my will. Not by heritage, lineage or destiny. But for what they can do naturally. Their dreams will make others smile."

When looking to the sky, through her crimson eyes and past the clouds, Harmonia could envision two silhouettes. Silhouettes helped realized thanks to the power of Xatu. And within the clouds, two familiar silhouettes of the future had appeared.

"Or perhaps I am looking at those very individuals right now." Harmonia looked to the people and Pokemon.

"Ah, I am not sure about that!" One woman scratched her hair. They all laughed in unison, knowing that they certainly couldn't be the next Great Joy. But they would certainly do what they can to make others happy. That much was true.

Harmonia then saw the clouds return, covering the silhouettes as the last of their visage had been enhanced by the rays of the sun. Harmonia looked closer, believing that she saw a third silhouette behind them, but the clouds vanished before that could happen.

Harmonia then walked off, assisting her kingdom and pursuing her dream. Her dream of helping others chase their dreams and bringing joy to many continued with her never planning to stop at once. This would continue for years. Harmonia lived up to her dream through and through.

Eventually, Harmonia knew that there would come a time when she would not finish her dream for the entire world, but knew that it would be carried on. It would take a long time for it to come true. The building that she made became of great importance.

A massive tower had been crafted with the help of people and Pokemon. And within that tower, Harmonia sat down to write something equivalent to a diary. There, she wrote down the meaning of her will and what the future held.

"For anyone who sees this book in the near future. Apologies if it isn't a lengthy one." She wrote on the paper with a quill. Sleeping net to her was a Stoutland which also had a Ralts resting on top of the Big-Hearted Pokemon.

"Here lies my will. A will that I left behind for one purpose. The wonder of dreams. Dreams that lift us up and let us know of what we can achieve and strive to achieve. This goes out to my beloved subjects and the people and Pokemon of the future. As for the future, I only wish for one thing. Harmony. Hard to achieve, but easy to perceive, isn't it? I know that there are those who will seek the same thing or something similar to it. Who knows? Perhaps they will do it without even knowing. What a funny thought that would be. But I will not vanish. I shall not depart from this world. I will live on. Not just in my will, but as somewhat of a spirit. I suppose this letter is starting to feel lengthy to whoever reads it. For my descendants and anyone who also sees this, know that I will always be watching. Perhaps as a spirit or some other mysterious force. Who am I trying to fool? It is mostly spirits. I leave you all with this last sentence to gaze at. The dawn of a new world will come. Or perhaps that new world is already here and it has yet to be fully unlocked. Until then, I will be with you."

Harmonia then finished the letter, ready to share it with her subjects and conserve its words for centuries and aeons to come. Stoutland and Ralts soon woke up, noticing Harmonia's departure from here. They followed promptly as Harmonia continued her life, never steering away from what she believed in.

Equestria. Twilight's Castle. Afternoon.

"So, that's the end?" Twilight flipped the page, searching for more about Harmonia, but there was nothing else to read. Her will was the final thing left behind.

"Afraid so. Harmonia, despite being someone so vehemently passionate about her dream, was never exactly the biggest figure in Unova. Or the Pokemon World." Ben closed the book. "But many still loved her and there are those who still follow her teachings. Mainly descendants of the Harmonia Kingdom who ended up travelling and settling down in other regions."

"I see." Twilight held the book with her magic. "It's still so strange that she and Ghetsis are related. I think I might need to lie down."

"Ah, if you think that relation is bizarre, you haven't seen anything yet, my little pony!" Ben chuckled. "Now, how about a revisit to PokePark? Then you can help me use my Rift Magic."

"Oh, right! Almost lost track of that!" Twilight quickly placed the book back. She learned more about Harmonia. First from Spike and now from a book of Unova. Obviously, there was far more to know, but for now, Twilight was satisfied.

Harmonia's spirit as she said long ago, in her words, would live on. But it was unknown if she had been seen. In the mind of Twilight, perhaps she became a Ghost-Type Pokemon. A Yamask, Gastly or any other spectral-based pocket monster. She wondered if Harmonia became an invisible spirit or an ethereal one. Either way, the Princess of Friendship could only wonder.

She walked out of the castle, heading for her lab before looking to the sky for a sign. There was not a sign of Harmonia anywhere. Twilight started thinking of the Pokemon World as the obvious place to be. But for now, wondering was all that Twilight could do. And wondering about those who inherited Harmonia's will was something that she would certainly not find difficulty in figuring out as the journey continues.
