In our previous chapter, Sunset, Izzy, and Sunny entered Cafe Lysandre to find a way onto their headquarters. After Sunset battled Lysandre, the girls made their way to find a key to the elevator. They battled all four scientists again and eventually got the key. They went down one floor, and found a man in a laser cage. He told a story of how this ultimate weapon was created, and begged the girls to stop this nightmare. 
Sunset battled and defeated scientist Xerosic. She then deactivated the weapon. But, using a remote Xerosic turned on the weapon. It's located at Geosenge Town. With help from Twilight Sparkle's Staraptor and Sunset’s Pidgeot  they make their way to Geosenge Town. And, the final confrontation  with Team Flare. 


INVADING TEAM FLARE
Part 2


The girls hovered over Geosenge Town. They noticed that every pathway is blocked by Team Flare goons. Sunset and Izzy landed in the middle of the town while Twilight dropped Sunny off.
"My friends and I will deal with these goons." Twilight said as she flew off. "Good luck."
The girls look at the crystal flower. It was beautiful. But, deadly.
"How are we going to stop something like that?" Izzy asked .
"You're not!" Said a Team Flare grunt behind them. "After them, Golbat!"
Golbat charged after them. But, Sunny quickly reacted. "Come out, Flaaffy! And, use Electro Ball!"
Flaaffy popped out and struck Golbat with her Electro Ball attack. The electric attack damaged Golbat. The grunt recalled his Pokémon and ran off. At that moment. Flaaffy glowed and started to evolve. Where Flaaffy stood, a yellow creature with a long tail now stands.
"Congratulations, Sunny." Sunset said as she pulls out her Pokédex. "Your Flaaffy evolved into an Ampharos."
Ampharos, the Light Pokémon and the evolved form of Flaaffy.  The Pokédex said. The light on its tail glows so bright, it can be seen from far away.
"And, it looks like you learned a new move." Sunny cheered.
Ampharos felt good to hear that. The girls followed a path to what looks like a rock. Using a card they took from the grunt, Sunset opened a secret door in the Rock. The girls entered the door and went down an elevator. In an area outside of town, Pinkie and her sisters battled some grunts who have a group of Mightyenas.
"Fraxure, Dragon Claw!" Pinkie called out.
"Houndoom, Fire Fang!" Said Limestone. 
"Graveler, Rollout!" Maud said.
Between Houndoom's fire, Graveler's rolling speed, and Fraxure's claw, the Mightyena fell quickly. Inside the lab, Sunset and her friends made their way to see something in a lower chamber. It looked like a dried up tree.
"Is that Xerneas?" Sunset wondered. 
Lysandre soon came into the room. " Indeed it is. Our machinery is used to drain this legendary Pokémon of its power to energize the ultimate weapon. Nothing can stop us from restarting the world." He hung his head low as tears came down his face. "Even if it means destroying all Pokémon in the process."
"Not if we can help it!" Sunset said with determination. " Let's go, girls!"
The girls went down into lower chambers to stop the machine. Lysandre put out an alert. "Intruders are heading for the central chamber. Stop them!"
Back outside, Applejack and her Boldore faced a mean Manetric. 
"Okay, Boldore." Applejack said. "Stone Edge!"
Boldore unleashed a bunch of rocks on Manetric. A female grunt recalled Manetric and is angry. "I'll get you for this, cowgirl!"
Back in the lab, Izzy has out Greninja and Sunny has out Quilladin as they faced a pair of Scrafty.
"Greninja, Water Shuriken!" Izzy said. 
"Quilladin, Seed Bomb!" Sunny called out. 
A water throwing star and high powered seeds defeated those Pokémon. 
"Good work, team." Sunset praised as her friends as they recall their Pokémon. "The central chamber is just ahead."
The girls reach a door with an electronic lock.
"Great." Izzy said. "How are we going to get in?"
Sunny pulled out an small box and placed it on the lock. "This little device Clemont gave me should do the trick."
After a minute or so, the device cracked the code and opened the door. Sunny puts her device away as the girls walk into the chamber. Outside the lab, Rarity and Fluttershy faced a Swalot. 
"Delcatty, Shockwave!" Rarity called out. 
"Butterfree, Psybeam!" Fluttershy said. 
The two Pokémon made short work of the Swalot. Inside the lab, Sunset sees the machine, and feels bad for this thing. She walks up to the machine to see if she can free this creature. After finding the right codes, tubes connecting the tree break off. The girls stand back as the dried tree breaks apart. From the pieces emerged a big blue animal that looks like a glowing blue deer with white antlers. Sunset was aghast at the sight of this creature. 





Pokémon Quiz

Sunset looks at this Pokémon as her Pokédex comes alive. Xerneas,  the Life Pokémon This majestic Pokémon is know to shower all living things with energy.
"It's beautiful." Izzy praised. "But, how can we save it?"
Sunset pulls out a purple Poké Ball with a white M on it. Sunny recognized it. "That's a Master Ball!"
"That's right." Sunset replied. "It was given to me by the Poké Ball Factory president for removing Team Flare from there." She threw the ball to Xerneas. "Master Ball, GO!"
The ball clicks onto Xerneas and absorbs it. After a few shakes, the Master Ball clicks. Sunset picks up the ball. "This is why I brought five Poké Balls with me this time. You're safe now, Xerneas."
"How pathetic!" Somebody said angrily. "A legendary Pokémon relying on a human for help."
It was the voice of Lysandre. He comes in wearing red rimmed glasses and has mechanical buzzing bugs on his backpack. 
"It's Lysandre." Sunny said. "He looks like he got an upgrade."
"The Ultimate weapon is now powerless, Lysandre." Sunset said. "With Xerneas safe, your scheme went down the drain."
Lysandre takes out a Poké Ball. "Time for our final battle, Miss Shimmer.  When it's over, I'll take Xerneas back. Go, Mienshao!"
Out pops a white creature that looks like it has long sleeves. Sunset studied this creature. "Looks like Lysandre's Mienfoo has evolved."
Mienshao, the Martial Arts Pokémon and the evolved form of Mienfoo. The Pokédex said. Mienshao builds up its strength for finishing moves.
Sunset makes her first choice. "Delphox, I choose you!"
As soon as Delphox came out, Lysandre gives a command. "Mienshao, use Double Slap!"
Mienshao slaps Delphox like a helpless toy. Lysandre soon gets angry. "Give me that Pokémon."
"No way!" Sunset said roughly. "Delphox use Psyshock!"
Delphox unleashed it's psychic powers and caused Mienshao to faint. Lysandre recalled Mienshao and called for his next Pokémon. 
"You cannot stop me!" Lysandre growled. "Attack her, Honchcrow!"
Out pops a big black bird whose head looks like a hat. Sunset quickly studies this Pokémon. 
Honchcrow, the Big Boss Pokémon and the evolved form of Murkrow.  Said the Pokédex. This bird likes to boss all Murkrow in his flock.
"Delphox, return." Sunset said. She then pulls put her next choice. "Avalugg, I choose you."
Avalugg is ready for battle. Lysandre quickly called out a command. "Honchcrow, use Night Slash!"
Honchcrow's wings glowed dark purple. Sunset reacted to this attack. "Avalugg, use Icy Wind!"
Avalugg blew an arctic cold wind. Murkrow was hit hard. Lysandre called it back and made another choice. "I want that Xerneas. Go, Pyroar!"      
Pyroar comes out all fired up, after recalling Avalugg, Sunset makes her next choice. "Garchomp, I choose you!"
Garchomp's appearance shocked Lysandre. "Gabite evolved?"
"That's right." Sunset replied as she calls for an attack. "Garchomp, use Sand Tomb!"
Garchomp made a bunch of sand surround Pyroar. It was so sudden, it soon fainted. Lysandre recalled Pyroar and pulls out his last Pokémon. 
"You will not defeat me!" Lysandre growled. "Come, Gyarados!"
Gyarados appears as Lysandre's ring starts to glow. He begins his own chant. "Power flows to the one who knows how it works! MEGA EVOLVE!"
Gyarados soon changed. His body is now more like a flyer than a sea serpent. Lysandre quickly gives a command. "Eliminate Garchomp with OUTRAGE!!"
Gyarados hits Garchomp so fast and hard, the Mach Pokémon fainted. Sunset recalls Garchomp and calls for another Pokémon. "Pikachu, I choose you."
"The moment Pikachu shows up, use THRASH!" Lysandre orders.
Pikachu pops out, just to receive so many blows, it fainted. After recalling Pikachu, Sunset wonders who to call next.
"Surrender, Shimmer." Lysandre orders. "None of your Pokémon can stop my Mega Gyarados. Not even your Avalugg."
Sunset soon had an idea. She tossed her Master Ball. "Let's go, Xerneas."
The legendary Pokémon appears and stares down Gyarados. Lysandre wonders how this Pokémon can help.
"Xerneas, use Horn Leech." Sunset said. 
Using its horns, Xerneas drained some energy from Gyarados. Lysandre saw that his Pokémon was dizzy from fatigue. 
"Oh no." Lysandre realized. "Using Outrage and Thrash left Gyarados confused due to fatigue."
"That means I'll unleash the final blow." Sunset replied. "Xerneas,  MOON BLAST!!"
Xerneas fired a pink beam on Gyarados. This causes it to faint and return to normal. Lysandre was upset that his plans have been ruined.
"Good thing Sunset studied what moves Xerneas can use." Sunny said. 
Sunset walks up to a defeated Lysandre. "You know,  our world may not be perfect. But, we can make it a better place by working together. If everyone pitches in, there would be peace for all. And, there would be no need for fighting."
Lysandre looked at Sunset, and listened to her words. "That was deep. You have indeed risen from your darkest moments."
Sunset was happy that even someone like him can praise her. Suddenly, he fiddled with the controls. Everybody was getting confused. 
"This weapon may not be at full power," Lysandre said, "but it has energy for one blast to wipe out this whole lab. I am leaving this corrupt world,  and I'm taking you with me!"
An alert sounded. Izzy called for her Charizard. She and Sunny hopped on Charizard's back. "Let's gets out of here!"
Sunset hopped on the back of Xerneas. "Right behind you."
The friends rode off to freedom. Outside, Twilight and other friends defeated the grunts and made their way into town when the weapon fired a powerful beam. They saw Sunset and her friends head out of the elevator in a hurry.
"Get back, everybody." Sunset shouted. "The beam is heading for the weapon!"
Everyone left the city just as the beam came down. It struck the weapon with such power. Explosions went down into the shaft. When it was over. The town was intact. Nothing left of the weapon but a huge hole. They all looked at this crater with sadness. 
"I understand how Lysandre must feel." Sunset said. "But, his methods were not  admirable."
Twilight comforted Sunset. "Don't feel bad, Sunset. At least you learned from your past. That's how you became the person you are today."
Sunset felt better after hearing that statement. Twilight even gave her a warm hug. Pinkie looked at the hole with shock.
"I guess that's what happens to those who want to take over the world." Pinkie said.
"You're right, sis." Limestone replied. "Sometimes, they find themselves out of it."
Everybody had a good laugh. Watching from outside the town, the tall man wonders of one thing. "The little Pokémon. What do I have to do to meet it?"
Later, Sunset, Izzy, and Sunny returned to Anistar City. Pidgeot and Charizard were recalled just as Sprout showed up. 
"Thanks goodness you girls are okay." Sprout said with relief. "That was a nail biter for sure."
"I know." Sunset replied. "Even I was starting to get scared."
"If only Lysandre wasn't so delusional." Sunny said sadly. 
"You're right about that."
Sprout then gave the girls some new information. "Now that Team Flare is out of action, it's time to resume the Pokémon Gym Challenge."
"That's right!" Sunset gasped. "I still need one more badge before I face the Pokémon League."      
"Gym Challenge number 8, the final Gym Challenge, is in Snowbelle City. Better bundle up when you get there. Catch you later."
As Sprout heads out to report to Professor Sycamore,  Sunset and her friends head for the Pokémon Center to rest up. The battle against Team Flare left them and their Pokémon worn out.
