It was the year RC1018, the 1018th year in the Regild Century calendar.

More than a thousand years ago, humans moved into space and made settlements in giant rotating cylindrical drums called colonies, as well as building cities on the Moon and other planets in the Solar System. In that thousand years, countless wars have broken out and taken countless lives and the colonies were ultimately gone. One of the huge factor that contribute to this is resources.

Technology was hugely improved and shaped human’s life dramatically in all those years. But after all, technology needs fuel to run. With that, a gigantic source of fuel called Photon Battery was invented. It fuels everything in their lives: from the cars, the electricity to use in normal electrical appliances, to mobile suits – the gigantic humanoid machine that was originally built as an instrument of war.

However, the shortages of Photon Batteries have resulted in more wars and destruction. After a war called the Capital Tower War, humanity from every side of that devastating conflict started to sit together and formed the Photon Battery Alliance (PBA) with the goal to distribute Photon Battery equally and find new sources of energy. This is how humanity is dealing with severe energy shortages together.

One of the members of the PBA was the Moon’s nation called Towasanga, which consisted of colonies that gathered in the far side of the Moon. The PBA have decided that the Cyrano 2, one of their colonies, was converted to a research colony in order to re-discover the old technology of the Minovsky UltraCompact Fusion Reactor (MUCFR). To run this technology, a kind of fuel that was called Hydrogen 3 (H3) was needed. The harvesting of this fuel mainly relies on Towasanga’s Jupiter Carrier fleet, which is a slow way to harvest the fuel. It usually takes months for the fleet to go through millions of kilometers to get the planet of Jupiter and bring the fuel back. With this huge setback for the technology, Towasanga needed to find another source. Luckily, a strange discovery has allowed them to fulfill their wish.

Somewhere between the Moon and the Earth, there was a cluster of debris that was a result of the old wars. In the year RC1015, a Towasanga ship discovered a wormhole that they later called “Cluster Wormhole”. 

It was inhabited by sapient creatures that look like ponies, which was later discovered that this is how they called themselves. More shocking facts were later found out: pegasi, unicorns, dragons,… Basically it was a world just like humans but inhabited by sapient mythical creatures. However, that’s not their main concern: Tosawanga have later found out a huge H3 reserve in the Equestria, and they even found a full-fledged mining facility that was already built there. It was called the Sea of Clouds. Built and maintained by the ponies and located near a town called Maretime Bay. Seeing opportunity, the PBA and all of their members have provided Towasanga with electronics, money, man power and mobile suits to explore the new world and together, they establish the relation with Equestria.

A special pony called Sunny Starscout and her friends have shown their friendliness to the humans and both sides gradually gained trust for eachother. However, the racism and the greed of humans sabotage all of the diplomatic efforts between the PBA and Equestria, causing Sunny and her friends to freeze the contract to buy the Sea of Clouds. Angered by this move, the PBA established the Heimdall Unit and started invading Equestria. They have successfully seized Maretime Bay town and Sea of Clouds after a year and go on to establish the Republic of Maretime Bay, their puppet government. Their goal is to once again divide Equestria and further exploit the kingdom.

The Heimdall Unit was a special military unit of the PBA United Army, armed with special mobile suits with technology that was developed and manufactured by the UC Reformation Project. With some old but powerful tech from the old time, they managed to build mobile suits with somewhat superior performance and strength to normal suits. Test pilots were carefully selected for these MS and they were sent to Equestria to fight for the PBA.

This is the story of one of those pilots…
