Sunset Shimmer’s Journey Through Kalos

A Lot of Shocks for Sunset

Sunset and her friends are in Lumiose City which is all back to normal since Team Flare is out of the Power Plant. Sunset learned that Garble was the one responsible for getting Luster Dawn angry at her. Now, the two girls are at peace with each other. Luster and her two partners, Smolder and Ocelus, are joining Sunset and her friends, Sunny Starscout, Izzy Moonbow, and Twilight Sparkle, as they are looking for the Lumiose City Gym. Soon, all seven girls ran into a woman with short dark blond hair. She wore a red buttoned shirt, beige pants and white sneakers.
"Hello." The woman greeted, "Are you Sunset Shimmer?"
"Uh, yes." Sunset answered nervously.
"Pleasure to meet you. My name is Alexa. I'm like a freelance reporter. And, I'm currently working on a story about you and your journey across Kalos."

"I think I've heard of you." Twilight spoke out. "Aren't you the sister of Viola, the Santalune City Gym leader?"
"I see my reputation is known, even by citizens of Canterlot City." Alexa said.
Twilight was shocked to hear that statement. "How do you know where I'm from?"
"I traveled to Canterlot City occasionally to learn of its citizens." A small yellow lizard crawls on her shoulder. "Me and Helioptile here are always fascinated by learning of new people."
Sunset takes out her Pokédex. "So, that's a Helioptile, huh?"
Helioptile, the Generator Pokémon The Pokédex said. Sunlight helps generate the electricity in its body so it doesn't need food.
The group are lead by Alexa to the iconic Prism Tower. At the base, a blond haired young man wearing a blue jumpsuit and glasses looks over the tower as a little girl with blond hair watches.
"Is everything ready?" The girl asked.
"Patience, Bonnie." The young man replied. "Looks like everything's ready. THE FUTURE IS NOW, THANKS TO SCIENCE! Prism Tower activate."
The tower started to light up. When the whole tower was lighted, the eight ladies started to clap. The young man was startled to see them.
"I didn't know we had an audience." The young man said. "My name is Clemont. And, this is my sister, Bonnie."
"Nice to meet you, Clemont." Sunset replied. "My name is...."
"Sunset Shimmer." Bonnie finished. "A former bully from Canterlot High School who's still on the path to redemption."
"You know about me?"
"We heard many stories about you, Miss Shimmer." Clemont said. "And, we heard of your friends, Sunny Starscout and Izzy Moonbow, as well."
"Must've heard of us from the other gym leaders." Izzy figured.
"Anyway," Sunset interrupted, "we're looking for the Lumiose City Gym so I can battle for a badge." She opens up her badge case. "As you can see, I have four."
"That's pretty good." Clemont praised. "Then, you qualify."
Sunset and company are all confused.
"Prism Tower is also the Lumiose City Gym." Bonnie explained. "And, my big brother is the gym leader."
"You're the gym leader?" Smolder gasped.
"That's correct." Clemont answered as he turns to Sunset. "Are you ready for our battle, Miss Shimmer?"
Sunset is hyped up for this opportunity. "Let's go for it!"

Hello, everybody. Sunset Shimmer here. Which electric Pokémon looks like a small tadpole?

Inside an arena within the tower. Alexa and the six other girls are on the stands as Clemont and Sunset face each other. Clemont's robotic friend, Clembot acts as a referee.
"This is an official gym battle between Gym leader Clemont and Sunset Shimmer of Canterlot City." The Clembot announced. "Each will use three Pokémon. The battle is over when all Pokémon of either side is unable to battle. Furthermore, only the challenger is allowed to substitute Pokémon."
"I bring out my first Pokémon." Clemont said. "Let's go, Emolga!"
Out pops a white flying squirrel. Sunset pulls out her Pokédex.
Emolga, the Sky Squirrel Pokémon. The Pokédex said. This Pokémon likes to glide through the air.
"Let's see if my training pays off." Sunset said as she throws a Poké Ball. "Gabite, I choose you!"
Out pops a tall shark like creature with booster like objects on its head, and wings on its arms.
"Cool!" Smolder cheered. "A Gabite!"
Izzy looks up the entry in Volume 4 of her book collection. "Gabite, the Cave Pokémon and the evolved form of Gible. If it sees something shiny, it likes to hoard it off to its nest."
The Clembot made an announcement. "Battle begin!"
"Gabite," Sunset called out, "use Dragon Claw!"
Gabite's Claw glowed brightly as it charges to Emolga. Clemont reacts. "Emolga, use Quick Attack!"
Emolga quickly dodges and strikes at Gabite fast. Sunset wasn't beaten yet. "You can do this, Gabite. Let's use..."
"Emolga," Clemont interrupted, "use Acrobatics!"
Emolga hits Gabite repeatedly. Sunset is getting nervous. "Don't give up, Gabite!"
Hearing Sunset, Emolga decided to hit harder and faster. Gabite eventually fainted.
"NO!!!!" Sunset cried.
"Gabite is unable to battle." Clembot announced. "Emolga wins."
Bonnie cheered for her brother and Emolga. Sunset recalls Gabite.
"Darn!" Sunset grumbled. "I was sure Gabite would be a good choice. Ground type have an advantage over electric types."
Everybody in the stands were surprised as well. Sunset saw Emolga laughing at Sunset. The former bully didn't like that. She then called for her next Pokémon. "Braixen, I choose you!"
Braixen pops out, ready for battle. Bonnie cheered for Clemont. "Do it again!"
"Emolga," Clemont said, "use Spark!"
Emolga is sparking up. Sunset reacted. "Dodge, then use Flame Charge!"
Braixen avoided the shocking attack, then hits Emolga with its flame. Emolga soon feels the heat.
"This is for what you did to Gabite." Sunset said to Emolga. "Psyshock!"
Braixen unleashed psychic energy to hit Emolga. Soon, the Sky Squirrel Pokémon fainted.
"Emolga is unable to battle." Clembot announced. "Braixen is the winner."
"Good work, Braixen." Sunset cheered.
Braixen gave her a thumbs up. Suddenly, Braixen started to glow. Bonnie got concerned. "Braixen is evolving."
When the glowing stopped, Braixen get bigger. It's legs look like they're covered by a red skirt.
"I'm impressed, Sunset." Clemont said as she recalls Emolga. "Your Braixen evolved into an amazing Delphox."
Sunset checked her new Pokémon with her Pokédex. "You're a Delphox now, huh?"
Delphox, the Fox Pokémon and the evolved form of Braixen. The Pokédex said. It uses it's burning stick to focus its psychic powers.
"And, it looks like you learned a new move." Sunset said.
"Time for my next Pokémon." Clemont said. "Come out, Magneton!"
Out pops what looks like three Magnemites linked together.
"That's what my Magnemite will evolve into." Luster said as Sunset checks out her Pokédex.
Magneton, the Magnet Pokémon and the evolved form of Magnemite. Said the Pokédex. Three Magnemites linked together might pump up electric attacks, but not usually brain power.
"Magneton," Clemont said, "use Electric Terrain."
Magneton fills the floor with electricity. Sunset figures that this can increase electric attacks. She had to stop this Pokémon fast.
"Delphox," Sunset called out, "use Mystical Fire!"
Lighting up the stick she carries, Delphox blasts Magneton with fire. The Magnet Pokémon soon fainted.
"Magneton is unable to battle." Clemont announced. "Delphox wins."
"Return, Magneton." Clemont said as he recalls his Pokémon. He then looks at Sunset. "Your newly evolved Delphox is a powerful Pokémon."
"Thanks, Clemont." Sunset replied.
"Let's see how it can handle my last Pokémon." He soon makes his move. "Come out, Heliolisk!"
Out pops a bigger version of Helioptile. Sunset checks out this Pokémon.
Heliolisk, the Generator Pokémon and the evolved form of Helioptile. The Pokédex said. it soaks up sunlight by spreading its frills. This added energy increases its speed.
"Let's wrap it up, Delphox." Sunset said. "Use Psybeam."
Delphox fired a beam of psychic energy. Clemont quickly reacted. "Heliolisk, let her have it with Parabolic Charge!"
With help from the Electric Terrain, Heliolisk used its electricity to drain Delphox. Soon, the Fox Pokémon fainted. This scared Sunset a lot.
"Delphox is unable to battle." Clembot announced. "Heliolisk is the winner."
Sunset recalled Delphox. She notices the Electric Terrain vanishing. Grabbing a Poké Ball, she called for her last Pokémon. "Lucario, I choose you!"
Lucario came out for a battle. Sunset soon began her Mega Evolution chant. "The bond between Pokémon and trainer is always to be special." She rubs the keystone on her bracelet. "Now, my faithful fighter, MEGA EVOLVE!"
The Lucarionite glowed and helped Lucario Mega evolve. Clemont seems unimpressed. "Even Mega Evolution can't save you now. Heliolisk, Parabolic Charge!"
Heliolisk starts charging. Sunset quickly reacted. "Lucario, Bone Rush!"
Lucario avoids the Electric attack, and uses a bone to strike Heliolisk. The ground attack caused Heliolisk to faint, ending the battle.
"Heliolisk is unable to battle." Clembot announced. "Lucario wins. The winner of this battle is Sunset Shimmer!"
"We did it!" Sunset cheered. "Good work, Lucario!"
Sunset and Lucario hugged each other after the Mega Evolution ended. The girls cheered for her as Clemont and Bonnie approached her.
"A very good battle we had, Sunset." Clemont said. "You and your Pokémon were definitely in sync with each other."
"And, that Mega Evolution was awesome." Bonnie added.
Clemont took out a triangle shaped badge with lightning bolts in the center. "In recognition of your great victory, I present you with the Voltage Badge."
Sunset received the badge. She was very pleased. "I have the Voltage Badge! That's badge number five!"
As the girls left the gym, they were stopped by Lysandre.
"I understand that you can now use Mega Evolution." Lysandre said with pride. "Professor Sycamore must be very proud of you."
"He probably is." Sunset replied.
"Miss Sunset Shimmer, there are two kinds of people in this world. Those who give, and those who take. I want to be among those who give. You may not believe it. But, even I believe that the future is uncertain. It's up to everyone to ensure that there is peace through this world."
The girls were touched by Lysandre's speech. He gives Sunset a crown shaped rock. "This King's Rock is my way of saying thank you for listening to me. Take care."
As Lysandre leaves, Sprout Cloverleaf shows up. "Lysandre must be dedicated to his quest for a better world. He even gave you a King's Rock."
"I heard of this item." Sunset said. "The King's Rock is essential in evolving a Poliwhirl into a Politoed. Or, a Slowpoke into a Slowking."
"That's cool. Anyway, Gym Challenge number 6 is in Laverre City. It's not too far from here. See ya."
Sprout heads out. Sunny was a little sad. " It's too bad Luster Dawn and her partners couldn't join us."
"At least they saw that Sunset is serious about Pokémon." Izzy replied.
Just then, Bonnie went up to them. "Wait, Sunset. You're a keeper!" She went down on one knee. "Please take care of my brother. I may not be with him forever. So, I'm looking for somebody who will be a great wife."
A metal arm grabbed Bonnie, and pulled her back. It was from Clemont and his backpack.
"Bonnie," Clemont said with embarrassment, "I told you many times to stop that!"
"You know what they say." Bonnie said. "Old habits are hard to break."
The girls giggled before they left.
"Next stop, " Sunset announced.
"Laverre City." Sunny finished.
"And, Gym Battle number six." Izzy added.
The girls left for the Pokémon Center to rest up before heading out. Luster watched and gave Sunset a thumbs up before heading away.
