In New Funk City, a mother were walking with two kids that are wearing costumes, one was wearing a skeleton costume and the other wearing a Pumpkin Costume. 

“Alright kids, when we get back home, you better get some sleep, you have school in the morning.” The mother, named Lila said.

“Aww, but mom, school is boring.” The kid wearing the Skeleton costume, named Skid complained. 

“I know dear, but education is good for you too.” 

Skid crossed his arms and huffed.

“Don’t give me that attitude young man!” Lila raised her voice at Skid. 

“Come on Skid, I’ll be their and we can play more.” The kid wearing the pumpkin costume, named Pump said excited. 

“Yeah, your right!” Skid say excitedly. 

The three continued to walk in the dark streets. Suddenly, one of Daddy Dearest’s portals appeared in front of them. They all stopped in their tracks.

“What is that?” Pump asked Lila. 

“I’m not sure Pump.” Lila said nervously.

Then, the portal started to suck Lila, Skid and Pump in the portal. 

“Ahh! Mom, what’s happening?!” Skid said in a scared tone. 

“I don’t know honey, but you two hold on to me tightly.” 

They held on tightly as they were sucked into the portal.

The three of them began falling down the purple swirling tunnel. As the three were falling, they saw a white light emitting at the end of the tunnel. The three of them, still holding each other, fell further into the tunnel and into the blinding, white light, then everything went dark.

Skid’s vision was dark for a moment. Soon enough, his vision was starting to return to him. He noticed he was laying on a wooden floor with many bottles hanging off the roof. He slowly lifted himself up and looked around the room he was in. He saw that it was one big room, having a table, a bed and a chair was the only furniture in the room that Skid could see. The room also had a small library with stairs above it.

 “Where am I? I remember that I was on the street with Pump and my mom, now I’m in this… strange place.”  Skid thought in his mind.

Just then, a door opened and a cat like creature came into the room and closed the door, putting its head on the door. Skid quickly hid behind the single chair in the room.

“Man, I can’t believe Verko tripled my debt all because of that crazy pony,” the cat creature sighed. He turned around and looked around the room. “Well I did save his life from possible doom, maybe that can pay my debt? No… that’s stupid.” 

 ”Oh, this must be this guys place? If he sees me, he might think I’m stealing from him. I better get out of here, but how?” 

The cat creature opened a door and walked to another room that looked like a kitchen. Skid saw this opportunity to get out of his place. He stayed quiet as best he could, but the floor was squeaking under his feet, making noise that can alert the cat creature. He managed to get to the door and was about to open it, but he stopped when he heard the cats voice. 

“I wouldn’t go out if I were you, this place is filled with crooks that will want to sell ya.” The cat creature said to Skid. 

Skid quickly turn to see the cat crossing his arms, leaning on the wall. 

“I’m very sorry sir. I don’t know where I am. One moment I was with my mom and best friend, the next moment I’m here. I’m not here to steal anything I swear!” Skid said in a panicked tone.

“Hey, it’s alright kid, you don’t look like a stealing type,” the cat creature stopped leaning on the wall and approached Skid. “What’s your name?” 

“I’m… Skid, what is your name?” 

“Oh yeah, heh, where are my manners. Cappers the name, charming is my game.”

“It’s nice to meet you Capper.” Skid raised his hand for him to shake. 

“Nice to meet you too Skid.” Capper crouched down to Skid’s height and shook his hand. 

They stopped shaking hands and Capper got up, Skid looked out of a nearby window. 

“Where am I Capper?” Skid asked. 

“This is Kludgetown, a city where you want something, you have to give something. But this place is getting more desperate with trading.” 

“What do you mean by that?” 

“Everyone would sell their friends for a few bits, that’s how desperate they are. I was also the same of them.” 

“Like how?” 

“I was going to sell my friends, six ponies and a dragon. I was going to sell them to a crime boss, Verko, to pay off my debt.” 

“That’s awful.” Skid backed away from. 

“Don’t worry kid, I didn’t sell them, they escaped and I tried to bring a crazy broken horned pony away from them, but ended up finding them anyway. Afterwards, I am friends with the mane six. My one friend, Rarity, made me this cape and hat.” 

“But do you have to pay this Verko guy?” 

“Unfortunately, yes. I had to steal things to pay off my debt. I have to persuade people about stuff being cursed and I will take it so I can it off them.” Capper sighed.

“So your a con artist?” 

“Yes, yes I am.” 

“Oh.” 

“Yeah, and after that crazy pony zapped Verko, he tripled my debt.” 

“That’s just rude.” Skid crossed his arms. 

“Well, that’s just business kid. Can’t help it.” 

“Is their something I can help with that?” 

“I’m afraid not, unless I sell you, but I won’t. You seem like a nice kid, I’m not sure what they will do to you.” 

“Oh, okay.” 

“But what I can do is help you find your friend and mother, my friends can help you if I can take them to you.” 

“Really?! You would do that with a kid you just met?” 

“Of course! I may be a con artist and only care about me and the debt, but now I want to help others. I know a guy that has a airship, he’s a good friend of mine. If we have to go to him, it’s now,” Capper opened the door. “Let’s get going.” 

Skid nodded and went beside Capper. Capper went first out the door, Skid following behind. Skid walked out and into the bright outside. He covered his eyes for a moment before adjusting to the sunlight. He looked around him and saw all the buildings were broken like and dusty. He looked around again and saw strange creatures staring at him. 

 Spooky.  Skid said in his mind.

Skid looked at Capper and asked him a question. 

“Isn’t it weird that you are helping someone with a skeleton costume?” Skid asked Capper quietly. 

“I’ve seen strange things before, nothing really surprises me anymore. Plus, I hide my expressions pretty well. But I think that the costume is pretty cool.” Capper replied. 

“Thank you.” 

They remained silent for a minute, before Skid felt very hot and he stuck his tongue out. 

“We’re almost there, if we keep up the pace, we’ll be their in a few minutes.” 

“Where do you think your going Capper?” A voice said out of nowhere. 

Capper and Skid looked around and saw a mole with a suit and a top hat on and two strong looking moles on his left and right. 

“Oh no…” Capper whispered.

“What’s wrong?” Skid said quietly.

“It’s Verko.” 

Verko and the strong moles approached the two. Verko crossed his arms and tapped his foot.

“Where are you going?” Verko asked, sounding annoyed.

“I’m… finding more stuff for me to sell. The people here want something more exciting, so I’m going to a place where I can get more things.” Capper tried to lie to Verko.

“Sounds to me like you are trying to run,” Verko said in a mad and annoyed tone. “So Capper, do you have the rest of my money?”

“No Verko, just give me another week and I promise —“ 

“IM SICK OF YOUR PROMISES!! If you don’t give me the money now I will —“ 

Verko looked down and saw Skid. He moved his glasses and leaned to Skid. 

“My, my, what do we have here.” 

Capper moved in front of Skid. Verko got back up and looked at Capper. 

“Tell you what, you sell me that thing and you are debt free.” 

Capper looked at Skid, which Skid made a scared expression. Capper nodded at Skid and looked back at Verko. 

“No deal Verko, this kid lost his best friend and mother, so I’m getting my friends to help me out.” 

“I don’t care if he lost his family or not, give me the kid or else!” 

“No!” 

“Very well then, if you won’t get it to me, I’ll take it then!” Verko snapped his fingers and two muscular moles approached the two. 

“Uh—“ Capper said before one of the muscular moles smacked him to the ground. 

The two approached Skid. Skid was about to run, but the other mole was behind him. 

 What can I do, think Skid think! Wait! I know!  Skid thought to himself and had an idea.

Skid crouched a bit and stretched out his arms in a pushing position on the right side. He then brought his arms back to his chest. He then did the same on the left side. He kept doing it in a fast motion, while smiling. The moles looked at each other, then back at Skid. They started to smile and began to do the dance as well. 

“Hey! What are you…?” Verko looked at the three. 

As Verko looked at the three and started moving his head in a dancing manner. He then started to do the dance too. Capper looked at the four in confusion. Skid stopped dancing and ran to Capper. 

“Let’s get out of here while their distracted.” Skid said to Capper. 

Capper nodded and the two started to run from Verko. They got to the dock and saw several airship parked. Capper lead the way to his friend. As they approached his friend, Skid saw it was a giant fish like creature. It had a eyepatch on one of his eyes. 

“Hey Fishlegs, how have you been?” Capper said to the fish creature. 

“What do you want now Capper?” Fishlegs said annoyed. 

“What? I don’t need anything, just a ride to Ponyville.” 

Fishlegs sighed. “Alright, but that will be fifty bits.” 

“Fifty bits?!? Do I look like I’m made of bits??” 

“From the way you dress, I would assume so.” 

“Come on man, just one more free ride.” 

“Look man, I’m trying to make a legitimate business and I can’t have you getting free rides. If you get free ride, everyone will want free rides. Now pay up.” 

“Please Fishlegs, I have to get this kid to my friends so he can find his mom and best friend.” 

Fishlegs looked down and saw Skid, which he was doing a puppy eye look. Fishlegs sighed. 

“Alright fine, but I’m only doing this for the kid, or whatever this is.” Fishlegs said. 

“Your a good friend Fishlegs, you won’t regret this.” Capper said as he and Skid started to board Fishlegs airship. 

“I already am.” Fishlegs sighed. 

Fishlegs looked at the entrance of the dock and saw Verko and his goons running towards their direction. 

“Capper! Get back here!” Verko yelled out. 

“Oh yeah, and Verko is chasing us, so you may need to go now.” Capper mentioned. 

Fishlegs sighed and untied the rope from his airship and boarded . The airship propellers started and they left the docking area. Verko, standing by the edge of the dock, started yelling at Capper. 

“If I see you here again Capper, your a dead cat! You hear me! A dead cat!” Verko yelled out to Capper.

“Welp, no going back now.” Capper sighed. 

“I’m sorry Capper, this is my fault.” Skid said sadly. 

“Don’t blame yourself bud, I was going to leave anyways. I knew we would try to kill me or something, so I caught you by the best time actually since I was going to leave today.” 

“But where will we go now?” 

“Don’t worry, I know some ponies that they will bring me in and you as well for the time being.” 

Skid nodded at Capper and they stayed silent for a while. Skid’s mask was getting hot again, but this time he took it off. As he did, Capper looked at him in shook. Skid saw his expression and was confused. 

“What?” Skid asked. 

“That was an actual costume?” Capper said, still in shook. 

“Yeah… I wear this everyday because everyday is the spooky month.” Skid said happily. 

“Spooky month? What’s that?” 

“It’s where me and my friend, Pump, do spooky things together, like watching spooky movies, haunted houses, all that stuff.” 

“Huh… sound to me like your explaining Nightmare Night.” 

“Nightmare Night?” 

“Yeah, it’s where ponies wear costumes like you and collect candy and do Nightmare Night games.” 

“Sounds to me that it’s similar to Halloween.” 

“Halloween?” 

“It’s pretty much similar to what you were talking about.” 

“Oh, so you give candy to Nightmare Moon’s statue so she doesn’t eat you?” 

“…no? We just eat our candy when the nights over.” 

“Oh, never mind then,” Capper leaned on the rails. “So what kind of species are you? I’ve never seen anything like you before.” 

“Oh, I’m a human.” 

“A human? Never of them.” 

“We’re like you but without fur everywhere. We only have hair on top of our heads and some other places.”

“Huh, cool.” 

For the rest of the flight, Skid and Capper watched in the sky at the front of the airship, while Capper putting a hand on Skid’s shoulder.





Darkness surrounded Pump for a few moments, before coming to his senses. He slowly opened his eyes and slowly lifted his back up. He looked around and saw he was in a room filled with fabrics, a table with a stitching machine on it and mannequins that look like horses. Pump got up and look at his surroundings. 

 Where am I?  Pump said in his mind. 

Just then he heard footsteps. He went over to where he heard the footsteps. He came to a closed door and he went to open it, but something else was opening it, a pale sap green aura on the doorknob where Pump was about to hold. The door opened and on the other side, a white small pony with light greyish harlequin eyes. The pony also had a horn on top of its head.

“Gotta bring the fabric to Rarity so she doesn’t tell me the hundredth… time?” The pony said to itself, before looking at Pump. 

The two locked eyes for a moment, but for them it felt like forever. Pump cleared his throat and began to talk. 

“Uh… hi.” Pump said to the small pony. 

The pony screamed and ran away, yelling out Rarity’s name. 

 well, that was weird, I like it. 

Pump left the room and into a hall. He saw some stairs going down. He went down the stairs and into a room with mirrors with buckets on the floor near them. He went into the room more and saw a platform with three big mirrors, a changing room and a single pony mannequin. 

 Is this a… barber shop? 

Just then, Pump heard more footsteps coming towards him. The white small pony appeared again, but a light grey pony that is bigger than the other pony with moderate azure eyes and a horn appeared. Pump eyes widened in astonishment of the beauty of the light grey pony. 

 She’s gorgeous.  Pump said in his mind. 

But all of a sudden, the light grey pony screamed, making Pump jump.

“Monster!” The light grey pony screamed. 

The light grey pony’s horn flashed a light cornflower blue aura and it picked up a broom. The light grey pony started to run at Pump, swinging the broom at his direction. Pump ran in the room as the light grey pony continued the chase. Pump suddenly trip on his own foot and fell. Pumps pumpkin mask fell off and landed on the floor. The light grey pony was about to hit Pump, but stopped when she saw the white skin boy with black curly hair. The pony put the broom back and lowered herself to Pump’s height. 

“Are you alright darling?” The pony asked Pump. 

“Uh… yeah?” Pump said with uncertainty.

“I’m glad. So sorry about that dear, Sweetie Belle thought you were a monster.” The pony said as she moved her hoof to the white pony, Sweetie Belle. 

“Oh… it’s fine. I’m Pump, what’s your name?” 

“Oh dear, how rude of me, I’m Rarity.” Rarity said. 

“It’s nice to meet you Rarity,” Pump picked up his pumpkin mask and put it back on him. “What is this place anyway?” 

“Oh! You are in my boutique.” 

“A boutique? Isn’t that a place that you make dresses?” 

“That’s right darling, but this is also my house as well.” 

“Oh. I’m sorry, I woke up here and I’m not sure where I am. One moment I was with my friend and his mother, now I’m here.” 

“Hmm… did you go into a purple portal by chance?” Rarity asked. 

“Yeah! How did you know that?” 

“A blue haired human came here through a purple portal as well.”

“You mean… Boyfriend?! Boyfriend’s here?!?” Pump said excitedly. 

“Why yes he is, do you know him?” 

“Yeah, we rap battled against him before.” 

“We?” 

“Yeah, me and Skid,” Pump pointed to his side, but no one was there. “Skid?” Pump looked around the place. 

“I’m sorry darling, but I don’t know somepony named Skid.” 

“Oh… we must’ve been separated while being teleported here.” Pump said sadly. 

“I’m sure your friend isn’t far from here.” 

“Yeah your right, but can I see Boyfriend? Maybe he knows where he is.” 

“Of course dearly,” Rarity looked at Sweetie Belle. “Sweetie Belle, stay here, I won’t be gone for too long.” 

“Okay sis. Oh and sorry for calling you a monster Pump.” Sweetie Belle said, sounding guilty. 

“It’s fine, I forgive you, beside Skid and I get called names worse than that.” 

“Like what?” 

“Ehhh… I don’t think I should say them.” 

“Oh okay.” 

“Follow me darling.” Rarity said to Pump.

Pump nodded and Rarity opened the door using her magic. They stepped outside and began to walk into Ponyville. Pump looked around and saw many colourful ponies and fillies everywhere he looked. Many of them talking to each other, walking around or playing. Rarity and Pump were coming to a castle made out of crystal. Pump oh’d and awe’d to the size of the castle. As they got to the doors of the castle, Pump can see the Boyfriend and Daddy Dearest. 

“Where is my daughter!” Daddy Dearest yelled at Boyfriend. 

“I don’t know Dearest!” Boyfriend yelled back. 

“You two, please stop fighting.” Twilight tried to stop the fighting. 

“Stay out of this!” Daddy Dearest snapped at her. 

“Hey, leave her alone! She’s trying to help me find her!” 

“Since when can you speak anyway?! I remember you just going bop bo bap!” 

“Twilight put a spell on me so I can speak properly.” 

“I prefer you booping, but your annoying when you speak.” 

“And you sound like a old man… old man!” 

Daddy Dearest growled at Boyfriend, both of their head colliding with each other, teeth bared. Just then, they heard a familiar voice. 

“Boyfriend!” Pump yelled out. 

The two looked and they saw Pump running towards them. 

“Pump?” Boyfriend said confusedly. 

Pump ran to Boyfriend and hugged him. 

“Pump, how did you get here?” 

“A strange purple portal appeared in front of me, Skid and his mom. We got sucked in and I got teleported to Rarity’s boutique.” Pump explained. 

“That’s right darling.” Rarity spoke up as she approached all of them. 

“A purple portal you say,” Boyfriend said as he slowly looked at Daddy Dearest. “That’s funny, because Daddy Dearest made a portal that is purple and now we’re in this mess.” 

“Don’t blame me, your the reason we’re here.” Daddy Dearest said. 

“And how is it my fault?!” 

“Because your dating my daughter!!” 

“WILL YOU TWO STOP FIGHTING!!!” Pump yelled at the two, scaring Twilight, Rarity, Zecora, Boyfriend and Daddy Dearest from his volume. “Fighting is not going to get us nowhere! We must work together to look for Skid and Lila!” 

“I hate to admit it, but he’s right,” Daddy Dearest sighed. “Alright, if we find my daughter, Skid and Lila, you can continue to date my daughter and I’ll stop trying to kill you. Deal?” Daddy Dearest extended his arm towards Boyfriend.

“Hmmm… deal!” Boyfriend extended his arm and shook Dearest’s arm. 

“I’m glad you two are friends now.” Twilight said in relief. 

“We’re not friends, we are just acquaintances. That’s all.” 

“I hope we’re not interrupting anything.” A voice said in the distance. 

Everyone looked to see who said that. They saw Capper and Skid coming towards them. When Pump noticed Skid his expression turned to him being excited and he started to run towards the two. 

“Skid!” Pump said excitedly. 

“Pump!” Skid said as he ran to Pump. 

They both hugged each other tightly. Capper, Twilight and Rarity awe’d at the reunion. 

“Are you hurt Pump?” Skid asked worriedly. 

“I’m fine, are you hurt?” Pump asked worriedly as well. 

“I’m fine too. Capper kept me safe from any danger.” Skid pointed at Capper. 

“Thank you mister.” Pump said to Capper with a single tear on one of his eyes. 

“Hey, just call me Capper and it’s no problem. I couldn’t leave him by himself, besides, I had my own… problems. So I’m here to stay low for a while.” 

“Verko darling?” Rarity asked Capper. 

“Verko.” Capper sighed. 

“Well your always welcome to stay at my place as long as you want darling.” 

“Thank you Rarity.” 

“Well we found Skid, now we need to find Lila and Girlfriend.” Boyfriend said to everyone. 

“Yeah… but where would they be?” Daddy Dearest thought. 

“How about we call it a day, we can focus on this tomorrow.” Twilight said to everyone. 

“Twilight is Right. We will come back tomorrow when it’s nice and bright.” Zecora said to everyone. 

Daddy Dearest growled a bit, before he sighed. “Fine.” 

“Great! I’ll stay here with Twilight.” Boyfriend said. 

“And I guess I’ll stay with the rhyming zebra. It’s better than staying here with this blue haired midget.” 

“Are you two wanting to stay with me and Capper?” Rarity asked the spooky kids. 

“Are you sure?” Skid asked. 

“Of course, we have plenty of room for you two.” 

“Then I guess it’s okay with us. Thank you… uh…” 

“Rarity darling, my name is Rarity and it’s not a problem.” 

“Then it’s settled, we will look for Girlfriend and Lila tomorrow,” Twilight said to everyone. “For now, we will treat our new friends nicely, right every pony?” 

“Right.” Said Rarity, Capper and Zecora. 

As everyone was starting to depart, Skid and Pump went with Rarity and Capper to her boutique. As they got to her boutique, she looked at Skid and Pump. 

“Oh, you should meet my sister, you two will make great friends with her and her other friends.” Rarity smiled as she closed the door behind her.
