//------------------------------// // This is the only Chapter // Story: The Last Scene // by Richard79 //------------------------------// The Last Scene Spike felt his claw cramping up as he was writing on some parchment papers. He'd brought the items over to Rarity's because she needed his help again with a few new dresses. Rarity had glanced over a time or two to catch a glimpse at what he was writing. Her cheeks had turned red a time or two. I should have expected him to be good at writing romance…I just wish he’d tell us who was who in his story. "Darling, are you okay?" Rarity asked seeing him holding his right claw with the other. "I've just been into writing lately. Once I start, I find it difficult to stop.” I figured being around you would be a good distraction. Rarity trotted over to him and laid beside him on the floor. She took his claw in her hooves. "Maybe I can help you with that cramp." She started to work her hooves in a circular motion on both sides. Spike took in a breath and the scent of Rarity being so close to him for the moment. "Rarity it's...noth..." His voice started to trail off when he could feel what she was doing was actually helping. "Sorry that I don't have claws like you." Rarity's gaze lifted up to him. He looks so much more intimidating being that he's older now. She could feel her heart beating a little faster being so close to him. "It’s okay, it is helping." Spike said enjoying what she was doing for him. The door to Carousel Boutique opened and the other elements of harmony came in. Rarity jumped at the sound, letting out a little squeak and went to hug Spike out of fear but ended up with her face inches away from his with her hooves around his neck. "Spikey...I...um. Spike's mouth had dropped open at the sudden reaction from Rarity. He glanced up at the shocked look that mirrored on everypony's face in the room at the awkward situation they’d walked in on not realizing they’d in fact caused it. Spike turned his attention back to Rarity he saw her red cheeks still inches away from him. "You, okay?" “I…um…” Her voice was soft that only Spike was able to hear her. Spike could see himself reflected in her eyes. Rarity took in a breath and spoke. “I forgot I’d asked them to come over.” She admitted, her hooves had slid down to rest on his shoulders. Spike only smiled at her. “Need some inspiration for a scene there Spike?” Rainbow asked being the first one to speak up and started to walk towards the pair. “Rainbow!” Princess Twilight used her alicorn magic to pull Rainbow back with the others. “Sorry, are you two, okay?” She asked. “Did we scare yawl?” Applejack asked being her honest self. Pinkie Pie took in a deep breath. “Spike was writing, and his claw started to cramp so Rarity was using her hooves to help his claw cramp…” She took in another breath and added. “Then we just showed scaring her...this is the result.” “Pinkie’s right girls.” Rarity said turning her head to look up at her friends, she knew her face was still red. “Should we leave you two alo-” Rainbow felt another tug from Princess Twilight’s alicorn magic. “Awe common, Twi.” “You just scared me.” Rarity said and found herself still picturing being only inches away from Spike like she was. He didn’t even pull back; I could hear the concern in his voice. Come to think of it I didn’t move either… “We’d come over to see if Spike’s new story was finally done.” Princess Twilight said. This should be interesting. Spike thought hearing Twilight while rubbing the back of his head and grinning. “Well um…that was the last scene.” The group let out a gasp and what Spike said had Rarity turning back around to him. “Come again, darling?” Spike could feel the fire on his cheeks he wasn’t sure how many shades of red he’d turned just now. “The um…two main characters…are you and I…” Rarity’s jaw dropped open. “Us? As in…us?” “Uh-huh,” He took hold of her hooves with his claws. “It’s how I was able to write them so well.” “So…when they came in…and we almost…” Rarity could feel her head spinning as Spike let go of her hooves and held up the last piece of parchment paper. She used her unicorn magic to hold it while she read. “That…was…the last scene…” Spike said and could hear the giggles from the other girls. “Guess she got lost in the story and didn’t even realize it,” Rainbow said with a smile. “You’d told us not to say anything Spike.” “Even Pinkie Pie was able to keep from telling Rarity,” Twilight said. “That was super duper hard,” Pinkie added with a big smile. “But totally worth it!” “Do we…um get to…um see…the um…last…scene?” Fluttershy asked in her soft voice her yellow coat had a shade of pink to it. Applejack giggled at that. “Well, I’ll be, listen to Miss Fluttershy over here.” She giggled again. “We almost did.” She noticed Fluttershy hiding her face with her long pink hair. Rarity had finished reading the last scene in the story, lowering the paper Spike could see the tears in her eyes. She’d heard what Fluttershy had said, and her gaze returned to Spike. Spike could see the smile on Rarity’s lips. “That’s up to Rarity.” Rarity lifted her hooves up and put them back on Spike’s shoulders. “I don’t see a reason why not to, Spikey.” Her eyes were half-closed. Spike’s eyes widened at that; his claws came around her waist. This mirrored the scene in his romance story down to the rest of the cast being in the last scene. The hero in the story had won the heart of the lady he’d dreamed about for years. Rarity and Spike leaned in at the same time getting a collective awe from their friends at the tender moment as the two kissed.
