//------------------------------// // An endless order // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Equestria. Ponyville. Sweet Apple Acres. Day. "Mmmrrgh..." Fast asleep and grumbling in her sleep was Applejack. When asleep, she slept with her Delta Riolu who was hugging onto the Earth Pony. Sceptile slept within a tree outside of the house as that was his best habitat. Riolu made himself comfortable, feeling warm in Applejack's embrace. "Gol." The only one not asleep, or rather, was unable to sleep no matter what. Golett had entered the room, holding a breakfast plate in his hands. "Ugh..." Applejack yawned, awakening to the sight of Golett's arrival and what he was holding. "Golett?" "Golett!" Golett place the food on her bed, ready to be served. Golett then saluted the earth pony. "For me? Oh, thanks." Applejack rubbed her eye, already prepared to have some breakfast. This isn't the first time Golett has done this. It has been delivering food to Applejack's room every morning. Golett did this without any second thoughts at all. True to its purpose as a Golett, it has a strong sense of servitude. Applejack ate away as Golett had opened the windows for her without her needing to do it later. It had made her bedsheets neater, moving them up to Applejack's hooves. Even going for the smaller things such as placing Applejack's hat on her head. "Gol!" "Thanks again. You're always so helpful every morning, Golett." "Gol-Gol." This would never be the end of Golett's charitable nature. Because even after breakfast, the Automaton Pokemon would continue to be helpful in any way it can. Today was a Pokemon School session for some students. Applejack being among one of them. Apple Bloom and the younger ponies wouldn't go today. Only on Mondays to Wednesdays will they go whilst older ponies such as Applejack and many others, head out on Wednesdays to Friday. Canterlot. The Pokemon School. Day. The train to the Pokemon School was underway for many students who lived elsewhere. And through it all, Golett made sure that Applejack had a nice ride, keeping watch over her. But she didn't really need much protection when she had Sceptile by her side along with her friends that had equally powerful Pokemon too. Even when getting out of the train, Golett was the first to exit, observing the scenario around itself. It was all ears despite having no ears. "Golett. You're always like this when it's time to head out for the Pokemon School." Applejack commented, exiting the train with her friends. "The whole Golett species are extremely loyal Pokemon, aren't they?" said Twilight. "I mean, the Pokedex even mentions how they receive the orders from their masters from thousands of years ago. That's some commitment." "Commitment for that long? I don't know if I could do that." Rarity shook her head, thinking of how long that would take to follow multiple orders for thousands of years. Then again, only a Ghost-Type could be able to endure such a long process. "IS Golett from a thousand years ago?" Fluttershy asked. "Could be." Pinkie Pie skipped over. "Fantina said that Applejack reminded Golett of someone special from long ago. She didn't say how long. Come to think of it...who could remind you of Applejack, Golett? Oh! Is it someone that looks like Applejack maybe?!" "I don't think that's it, Pinkie." Rainbow Dash chuckled before thinking about it for a second. Golett immediately attached itself to Applejack by simply being close to her during the Ghost-Type lesson. It was as if it had sensed her nature. "Unless..." Thinking about it some more made Rainbow Dash lean towards Pinkie Pie's theory being possible. "Well, there's only one way to find out. Fantina obviously caught this Golett when it had a previous trainer. Maybe she knows something about it." Twilight uttered. "I say we ask her." "Golett!" To fill their curiosity, they would head to Fantina to find this simple answer. Luckily for them, Fantina was available today as a teacher. When approaching the Pokemon School, they took the time to look at the golden staircase. Everyone would constantly take a gander at it due to its absolute beauty. There were even those who would try and touch it. Mainly the Flying-Types. A flock of Spearow could be seen approaching the golden stairway, curious about its appearance. But the moment it got close, the enigmatic and mystical light from it immediately compelled Spearow to fly over it. While it was curious the first time, it was forced to flee from it. Until the stairway was finished, none could make contact with it. Anyone near it would simply move in another direction. So says the light of Arceus. Within the Pokemon School, the lessons were underway. Twilight and everyone had focused on their classes first before going for Fantina, who was elsewhere within the school. The best time to head for Fantina would be once a single lesson ends. And that came soon, almost swiftly with how hard everyone was working. Eventually, Applejack went for Fantina, who could be found in her spectral classroom. "Hm? Golett's old trainer?" Fantina spoke. "Mhm. You brought its old trainer up when I first met it. Is there something about this old trainer that looks familiar to Golett about me?" Applejack asked. "Ah, yes! I do know Golett's old trainer. I caught Golett because of him." Fantina kneeled, patting Golett on the head. "I learned about his trainer when I was out catching Ghost Pokemon of my own. Golett here has been around for 110 years." "110 years?!" Applejack's hat flew up for a bite before then dropping back on her head after being so stunned. "Hold on...That ain't that long ago now that I think about it..." "A long time to some. But that is nothing for a Ghost-Type, évidemment." Fantina walked over to a shelf of various objects. She then started shuffling, searching for something. "Golett shared with me the name of its trainer and more. I still have the picture...right here." Fantina found herself a picture hidden behind some books. A perfect framed picture that showed some age. Most likely from those 300 years as Fantina walked over to show Applejack this relic. "Golett remembers his face well. This picture that was drawn of the first time they had ever met on that mountain pass." "This is Kipp. He was not only Golett's Trainer but also its creator. As you know, all Golett are made from clay." "So that's him, huh?" Applejack took a closer look. "Ain't no way it's just the way we look that makes Golett think of him. Is it?" Applejack looked over at Fantina as the Ghost-Type Gym Leader compared the two of them. They did have some similarities, but they were few. From the blond hair to even some freckles. Although, Kipp seemed to own more freckles than Applejack. "You do share similarities. But no. That isn't why Golett was drawn to you. Golett could feel the honest heart from you. Just like Kipp here. That is without a doubt the reason it drew similarities." "So he was honest too, huh?" Applejack gawked as Golett was feeling nostalgic, holding the image close. "As honest as you can imagine. Kipp was a Golett Sculptor in Unova. A group of trainers that help make Golett and sometimes even Golurk. They specialize in clay far more than anyone in the world and use a strange energy source to bring life to the Golett." "Strange Energy Source? You mean Infinity Energy?" "They never share their secrets." Fantina wagged her finger. "It's for safety so that no one could use that same power. Can you imagine what would happen if they have the power to give life to practically anything they sculpt? It would be awfully terrifiant! But it is said that they have different sources sometimes." "Gol..." Golett continued to admire the picture, thinking of its trainer even more. It had zoned out with only its thoughts being present at the moment. Golett reminisced of the past, thinking about Kipp. Unova Region. 110 years ago. Windy Willows Pastures. Day. The Unova Region many years ago. There resided a place known as the Windy Willows Pastures. A farm-like area. There were fields stretching over great distances, their mosaic marked further by the picket fences around them. All around the area, Rapidash and Flaaffy slept and grazed in the silent pastures, and passing field after field ran a weed-ridden, cobblestone road. But they weren't the focal Pokemon of these pastures. It was the Golett. And as further proof of that, there was an abundance of boxes that all had clay in them. These boxes covered a majority of the farm on all sides. All of this clay would be used for the birth of the Golett. And speaking of which, sculpting these Ground-Ghost-Types were the Golett Sculptors themselves. They were all essentially a mixture of farmers and sculptors. Perfect multitaskers. Each of these men and women were trained in sculpting a Golett with perfect detail. All Golett were built the same with consistent heights to boot. Not a single mistake could be made and if there were a mistake to be made by them. And plus, some of them had their partner Pokemon to assist them. And among these many sculptors was none other than Kipp, who had just finished making his Golett for the first time. "There we go." He spoke, moving his hands away as Golett stood before him. "My very first Golett statue. Wasn't too hard, was it?" Being as this Golett and practically all of them had just been sculpted, none of them were alive. At this point, they were just lifeless miniature sculpts. The farm was covered with standing Golett that all had the same pose. Everyone's hands were messy with clay along with their clothes. "Alright then!" An old mentor to all of these sculptors spoke. "Those who are done with their Golett can now move on to the final part. Bringing them to life. Unfortunately, we've run low on the power needed to make them come to life. Sometimes we tend to go overboard when making these Golett, don't we? They aren't even supposed to be that common." He got a chuckle out of everything. Indeed, Golett wasn't exactly a common Pokemon. And that was shown even further with Golurk which can only be found in specific places as opposed to a Pokemon like Pidgey, Patrat or even sometimes a Ralts here and there. "We will get some new energy next week. All of our usual areas have run low such as the Apparition Pass. You can hurry on over there or take your time to have all of them refilled. Doesn't matter anyway. "I'll head to the pass," Kipp spoke, holding up his Golett. "I want to see my Golett come to life so soon. It's my first one." "Then you will go to the Apparition Pass, newcomer. Gather the energy and make sure that it enters Golett correctly. After that, it's up to you to decide what to do next with Golett. Make it your partner Pokemon or set it off to let it do its own thing." "I'd like to keep it as my own, sir." Kipp held the Automaton Pokemon close to him. "Staying with Golett forever would be the best." "Well, you aren't going to be with it forever." Just like that, the mentor had shut Kipp down with that one sentence. "Eh?" "Don't you remember? Golett, and an extension Golurk, live for many years. They're ghosts after all. They have a purpose that boils down to your own orders that they can carry out even in the future." "Oh yeah. I-I forgot." Kipp chuckled. "But...it would be nice to be alongside Golett forever." "It would only be possible if you were to live forever. Or if some divine intervention from the one they call Arceus happens." The mentor chuckled. "And if you were lucky again, perhaps a blessing from Ho-oh or the like. But, as long as you can make sure your Golett lives a charitable and happy life in the future, that is all that matters." "Yeah. I bet Golett will make a lot of people and Pokemon happy, won't it?" "That's the spirit, newcomer. Now, then. Everyone continue. Let's make these Golett's see everything there is to see." The sculptors had then set off to bring life to their Golett. Not all of them and the options were minimal now. But they had to make, as the mentor had said. Kipp would head for the Apparition Pass to bring new life into this world while others would go elsewhere as Kipp made his way north. Life had been brought to this world. Kipp was already knowledgable on how to do so and even how to traverse the Apparition Pass, which, as to be expected, carried an eerie aura despite the sun shining through it. Once there, in his hands, Kipp held an incandescent green aura with a spectral black light that glowed within it. Truly fitting for a Ghost. He had carefully held this green light in the shape of a sphere before then placing it inside of Golett. And within seconds, the light within had possessed Golett, causing its signature golden eyes to finally glow. Golett had been brought into this world. "Golett." "Hey, there, Golett. How are you?" Kipp greeted the Automaton Pokemon. "Welcome to the World, little guy." "Gol...Golett!" "Feels great, doesn't it? My name's Kipp. Nice to meet you." Kipp held his hand out. Golett, upon having a few seconds of life, could already understand human customs, showing its intelligence. The Ground-Ghost-Type shook Kipp's hand promptly which definitely made him happy. Kipp was thrilled to have succeeded in making a Golett that would become his friend. "From now on, I think we'll make great friends." "Lett!" Now that Kipp had a Golett by his side, there was much to do. But to commemorate this moment, Kipp wanted to make sure that something of this meeting would last forever. Thus, he had commissioned artwork to be done. He had returned to the farm with Golett as many other sculptors had succeeded in bringing their Golett to life. Back at the farm, there was already artwork being made of these two. Golett was now 2 hours old after coming into the world. It was still so new but it was not overwhelming for the Ghost-Type. Then again, usually, Ghost-Types are the ones to overwhelm others. Kipp watched as many Golett were being set free into the world, becoming Wild Pokemon in this instance. Not all sculptors wanted to make Golett their Pokemon. The Golett had orders to follow even in the future. They even say that the Golett could fare better as free spirits. As the painting of them was being done by an artist, who was being assisted by his Smeargle, Kipp was starting to wonder about the future. He had Golett now, but what about later on? "Golett." Kipp got his attention. "I'm a pretty young soul here. Moving on to 20 years old soon in a year. With how much time may come and go, I want to spend all of it with you." "Gol?" "That's right. I wanted to sculpt you for a reason. It's mostly a family thing. My mom and dad were Golett Sculptors too before heading off to the Hisui Region." "Sinnoh Region." The artist spoke. "They've changed it to be known as the Sinnoh Region now." "Oh. Right. Sinnoh Region. Seeing them create life like that was amazing. That's what inspired me and it was all worth it." "Golett!" Golett raised its arms in agreement. It was happy to be walking right now. "But you know...eventually, there's gonna come a time when I'm not around." Kipp closed his eyes, knowing of the future for him. "For a lot of us, really. But you'll be still kicking around even still, Golett." "Gol?" "I wouldn't you to forget me. Or any other friend that you and I could make together." The sun shined down on Kipp afterwards prompting him to look up. Just then, an idea was sparking within his head. "Truth is, it scares me so much knowing that I won't be there forever with you. One of my many wishes anyway." "Golett..." "But I also don't want you to be alone, Golett." The sculptor placed his hand on Golett's head. "So, here's my order for you to follow forever. Don't be alone or live alone, Golett. Everything can be so much more wonderful with others that you truly care about by your side. Human, Pokemon, or whatever lies beyond. Never forget to make new friends, okay?" "Gol...Golett!" Golett would make sure to follow that order to the bitter end. Right then and there, the painting had been completed. Afterwards, Kipp and Golett took the time to admire it. And soon, it would become a picture that would be taken and preserved for years. The two of them would go on to have many adventures. Whether it was just them both or others by their side, they would do whatever they could. And for Golett, this was its purpose. Not to be in the wild, but to be around friends. Present Day. Equestria. Canterlot. Day. "Golett..." "Remembering that promise that Kipp made to you?" Fantina kneeled as Goltt nodded in response. "It's good that you kept his promise even to this day. But you are a Golett after all." "What was his promise?" Applejack asked. "Kipp ordered Golett to never be alone. To make new friends. It has done that successfully with you and I. And all of your friends as well. This is Golett's sole order. It's merveilleuse, isn't it?" "Hmm..." Applejack thought about it. It was indeed touching, but she couldn't help but think about Golett's future and the future friends it could make. Applejack was happy for Golett, but even she, much like Kipp, knows that Golett and her will be distant in many years to come. Golett would still have friends, but Applejack felt like taking it a step further. "What if we could give Golett a new friend now?" "Gol?" "Excusez-nous?" "Lots of 'em. You've been helping me out a lot, Golett. Especially every morning. Might as well return the favour to you. I know what I wanna do now. Fantina. I wanna make some more Golett." "Oh?!" Fatina's hair tendrils, all four of them, shot up after hearing that. "Do my ears deceive me? Making Golett? Ah, you've taken interest in Golett Sculpting now, have you?" "Ya could say that. I was thinking about making more Golett just for my Golett here. Having friends that'll be around just as long as it. Sounds mighty fine, don't ya think?" "Golett!" "Choosing to make more Golett for your own..." Fantina gawked. "Ah! How sweet! This is something that Kipp would've wanted, aucun doute. Very well. No one is going to stop you at all, but you should know where to go and how to sculpt as well. Allow me to guide you there." "Thanks, Fantina. Just you wait, Golett. Sweet Apple Acres is gonna have more than just Applin lying about." "Gol!" "You'll have to go to the same place Kipp sculpted Golett and where the rest of the Golett Sculptors were. Windy Willows Pastures. After that, it will be up to you to bring life to the other Golett once they're sculpted. But you cannot sculpt them all on your own, my little pony. You know what you need, n'est-ce pas ?" "I do. My friends. I've already got some of them here with me." Applejack gandered at Sceptile, Riolu and Golett. "Sceptile!" "Rio-Rio!" "And me as well." Fantina stepped forward. " We are friends too, Applejack. I can consider myself to be an artiste sometimes. How I would love to take part in Golett Sculpting!" Fantina clapped her hands, showing interest in this activity. She wanted a piece of the action. "Now! Finish up your lessons and we will make our way to the Unova Region!" Soon it would be off to Unova. Applejack would be joined by the Gym Leader and Contest Expert Fantina in her quest to sculpt some Golett. She would end up bringing more of her friends along. Applejack shared everything with her friends including the photo of Kipp and Golett to them. They would all also like to part in Golett Sculpting as well, but all of that would have to be done after their time at the Pokemon School was done for the day. This message had been passed on to Ash and Goh far away in the Kanto Region via the good old Xtransceiver. Golett couldn't help but wonder what it would be like with more of its own kind around it at all times. It was already sounding wonderful to it. Granted, the farm would be overflooded with extra Pokemon which was already an issue thanks to the various Applin that disguise themselves with regular apples, and it would certainly give Granny Smith a judgemental stare. But it was all in good faith as the journey continues. Chapter 732 End.
