//------------------------------// // How's it going, Equestria? // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Equestria. Ponyville. Day. Today, a report from Pokemon Weekly was coming by Equestria. The one to report on the ongoings in this world was none other than the reporter Eli and his Chatot. And this time, it would be all about how this world has managed to continue with Pokemon in their life. It's been going on for 3 years strong with no signs of slowing down. And everyone in this world was hoping that it would go on without an end. Eli stopped by Ponyville first, speaking to the residents. "So, how's it all been now that 3 years have gone by living with Pokemon?" Eli spoke to Fluttershy first. "I heard a lot happened here. Like... a lot!" "Chatot! A lot!" Chatot repeated. "A lot did happen," Fluttershy commented. "I don't know where to start..." "Bay! Bayleef!" Bayleef used her vines to grab Fluttershy's back hoof, nudging it to grab her attention. "Leef! Bay-Bay!" "Oh, that's a good one! I guess how everything's been going so far. You won't believe what's changed over the days and months. For starters, Team Rocket's been a good help here at the Pokemon House." "Team Rocket? As in the criminal organization Team Rocket? Guess it wouldn't be a surprise for them to eventually make a presence here." "Oh, no, no. The only Team Rocket I know about are good. Jessie, James, Meowth and Wobbuffet." "Hoh!" Eli's glasses almost burst into pieces. "So you've managed to get Team Rocket Members to help you here!? You must've been intimidating to them!" "Well, not really. It's a bit of a long story that involves an invasion. I guess the one to explain it the best is Zecora." Fluttershy turned around, spotting Zecora in the distance. "Who's right there. Zecora!" "Hm?" Zecora heard her name, promptly turning to Fluttershy. And the second she faced the pegasi, Zecora's eyes scrunched with her eyes bulging as she had noticed the camera being pointed at her. "!" "Over here!" Fluttershy waved. "It'd be nice if you told Eli over here about what happened with the-" Just then, Fluttershy paused once she saw Zecora trembling. The zebra had put on a nervous grin that was crooked and unstable. She was completely frozen once her eyes met with the camera. "Oh my. Zecora are you okay?" "Uhh...Aaah..." Zecora shifted her eyes as she was unable to perform her usual rhyming sentences. Or a sentence in general. She quickly zoomed off, rushing away without a word. "She must be camera shy," Fluttershy said. "The first time I'm seen this from her." "Ah, it happens. But anyway, Fluttershy! This Pokemon House is growing by the second, isn't it? I heard you wanted to make it bigger?" "Well, more and more Pokemon are coming by. Plus, some Pokemon are bigger than others, so it's necessary to try and expand it. But I'm worried it might get too big and could cause problems for Ponyville if it keeps growing." Fluttershy commented before observing the entire Pokemon House. While it was big and a blessing for many Pokemon, perhaps its size was its biggest issue. As more Pokemon continue to be attracted to this place, deciding to come here, the size of the house will grow. It was already close to Fluttershy's cottage and any further increase could cause problems for her cottage. And if it manages to grow past that, overtaking her cottage to the point where Fluttershy won't have a home. And worse, Ponyville might end up being caught up in it with a potential expansion. "Hmm...Have you tried building it somewhere else?" Eli recommended. "Hm? I can't think of anywhere else. A lot of places are already full of Pokemon, like Saddle Lake, the Pixie Plains and so much more. Do you know of a place?" "Beats me. But don't worry. BigTime Ben's the one who helped make this possible too, wasn't he? I'm sure he'll figure something out. But is there anything else you want to tell me?" "Well, I can say that the Everfree Forest is growing back." Fluttershy laughed, trying to pick something else. "Oh, and as for everypony else, things have been so much easier now. We have better fruits growing along with flowers thanks to some of the Pokemon. Makes it easier for Applejack and the others. Those apples are growing faster than ever. Plus, we've got an excellent Night Watch." "A Night Watch?" "Mhm. Absol, Jade and Cold Colt were always the ones who kept guard of Ponyville since they never get tired. At least, Jade and Cold don't. Absol just has a lot of energy. Now it's gotten better. The Pawniard and Bisharp from Twilight's PokePark help keep guard of the town now. They don't usually come out of there, but it's so good they get to see more of this place." "Oh, I should go and visit Princess Twilight next! I'm curious about all of the events that have happened here. Care to share, Fluttershy?" "Tot! Care to share!" "Which one? When Jade was kidnapped by the Indigo Alliance? When we were all attacked by the Unown? Have to save Premium Polish? The invasion? The time Ash swapped bodies with Ghetsis?" "Mhm! Mhm!" WHilst Fluttershy was unable to choose one, Eli was writing them down without a second thought. This was all juicy to him. "Good stuff, Fluttershy! Take your time!" "Oh. Maybe we should go and ask. Twilight about it instead. Ask her questions next." Fluttershy chose to help out Eli. Eli wanted to know more. Everything even. No matter how dark or terrifying it may get. It was off to Twilight's Castle. Twilight's Castle. "So! Princess Twilight! How are those Pokemon of yours? I hear that your Absol is getting pretty popular. More than just the Night Watch anyway." Eli already came in strong with some questions for Twilight. "Absol is popular. Very popular in Equestria. Like...very!" To better show this, Twilight had shown Eli multiple different Absol objects. Plushies and other toys plus artwork that either looked pristine or childish. "It may look like an average Absol, but that's my Absol." "Quite a fanbase, eh?" Eli admired the Absol merchandise. "Kinda reminds me of how you all received merchandise in my world when your names were getting popular. LIke with Rarity being a PokeStar Celebrity. An up and coming one anyway." "Oh, you have no idea..." Twilight shook her head. "I think some ponies like Absol a bit too much. I think it's both the fact that I'm a princess and he's all...dark and brooding..." Twilight used her wings to cover her muzzle as her eyes were narrowed to try and mimic the standard expression of Absol. "They do love dark and brooding. So how does Absol feel about it? All of that attention must be overwhelming for the poor guy." "Nope. Absol doesn't mind. He's usually just neutral but sometimes he'll scare them off if they go too far or get too touchy. The only time you'll see Absol frustrated is during a battle. But not a regular Pokemon Battle. More like...a world-threatening battle." Twilight explained. "Hm-hm. Yeah, that makes sense. I hear that nothing intimidates your Absol! He's gone up against so many fearsome things it's no wonder he's popular." "Oh no. Absol's afraid of one thing." Then, Twilight turned her eyes, putting on a sigh which was followed by a slight chuckle. Twilight knew something and it could only make her giggle. "It certainly turns him into a different Pokemon..." "Hm? What could Absol be afraid of?" "Well...It's Cadence's Sylveon." "Sylveon? Oh, because she's a Fair-Type?" "No-no. If anything Fairy-Types should be afraid of Absol with how aggressive he gets. Sylveon is a different story. She and Absol have a bit of an interesting relationship. Sylveon just loves getting close to Absol while Absol just freezes up or tries to evade her." "It's true." said Fluttershy. "Absol gets so nervous around her. It's actually adorable." "Absol..." Absol growled as he heard the entire conversation. Try as he might, that fact could not vanish as he was certainly afraid of Sylveon. "Sylve!" And speaking of Sylveon, as if it were horrific timing coupled with fate, her cry could be heard echoing all the way to this room. Absol's eyes shot up as the door to this room had opened. Lo and behold, arriving here was Cadence along with her partner Sylveon. "Hi, Twilight!" "Sylveon!" "It's always at the worst time too..." Twilight uttered before waving at Cadence. Absol stood up, navigating the room to find somewhere to flee and hide. "Sol...?! Sol?!" Absol could see that the nearest door was right where Sylveon stood. And Sylveon knew this with a cunning grin on her face. Absol was being watched by Eli carefully, seeing how his serious demeanour could change so rapidly in the presence of one Pokemon. "Sylveon!" Happy to see Absol, Sylveon pounced at him. "Ab!" Absol quickly jumped out of the way, causing Sylveon to crash into the walls. Face first too. Sylveon slid on the wall as she made a fairly hard impact that caused everyone to wince. "Sol?!" Absol witnessed this impact before then running to Sylveon's side. "Absol?!" Absol asked if she was okay as that crash had some weight to it. "Sylve..." Sylveon did feel slightly befuddled by that. But that quickly faded away once she Absol up close. "Sylveon!" WIth Absol close to her, Sylveon instantly got comfortable with him. Absol's guard was down in that instance as Sylveon rubbed her head on his fur. "Sylve!" "Absol...!" "Hard to tell if she did that on purpose. Oh well." Cadence shrugged. "It's about time we hung out again. Well, Sylveon suggested we do. Probably to just come over and see Absol." "Syl!" "Ab..." Absol groaned. "Oh yeah. I see what you mean. I can feel the mood change." Eli nodded, observing how Absol's feelings rapidly changed around Sylveon. "But moving on! You're Princess Cadence, aren't you?" "Uhh y-yeah!" Cadence quickly faced Eli, standing upright as she noticed the camera being pointed at her. "Hi!" "Nice to meet you! I heard some wild things from the Crystal Empire!" Eli rapidly shook Cadence's hooves. "Like your two daughters?!" "Oh, Flurry Heart? Ah, I suppose that knowledge did get out." "Mhm! I've been going from place to place as a reporter and a few research facilities across different regions have been focused on the Rift and its ways of travelling. And the older Flurry Heart is apparently from an alternate universe?" "Mhm. She is. She's from Universe 6 to be exact. Her world was once ruled by Empress Twilight. I think you might know about the invasion by now. Myself and Shining Armor also exist in that universe, but we were turned to stone. Unfortunately, the stone bodies haven't been found yet. But on the bright side, that world's free from any harm now." "Hmm...So what will happen when they're found and freed at last?" "Well, she'll go home. Universe 6 is at peace right now. It'll feel slightly empty without her, but her Cadence and Shining Armor will feel complete when she's back. Along with Flurry Heart herself. And it won't be goodbye forever since she can go between worlds. So in the end, we'll be together forever." "T-That...That's so heartwarming!" Eli sat down, putting his arms on his eyes. "Radical! I love a good sob story sometimes!" "Chatot! Sob story!" "This is all so good! I need to know more. We all do. Like uh, the Unown thing. I heard something major happened with those Pokemon here." "Something major did happen. Almost cost us our lives." Twilight shuddered. "But it's fine. The Unown were once a threat but thanks to Discord, who caught so many of them that's not an issue anymore." "Though, if we ever come across some of them again, we'll need the willpower to withstand their power to erase us. Just as Arceus said." Cadence explained. "I can think of a few who have the willpower. Might need some of my own but right now, Giratina's the only protection we have against them." "About the Unown, over at the Sinnoh Region, Professor Rowan and a few others found something out. Apparently, the Unown have been messing with things without us knowing about it." "How so?" Twilight, Cadence and Fluttershy asked. "Ah, they were pretty vague when I interviewed them." Eli shrugged. "Best I got was that some things changed throughout history. Like that existence of Sylveon over there." "Sylveon?" Cadence turned to Sylveon, who was still around Absol. "Is something wrong with my Sylveon?" "Nope. It's A-OK! But Professor Rowan said something about how the Fairy-Type wasn't ingrained in our memories the first time around. It could be a result of the Unown changing reality which warps our perception of things. I mean, you never know! Some Pokemon could've become Fairy-Types without us even knowing they have!" "..." Twilight and her friends looked at each other, realizing what this could mean. They then looked at Sylveon, having burning questions about the Intertwining Pokemon. "But ah, that's for you all to figure out!" Eli chuckled. "I'm just the reporter! And this world's still new about Pokemon so it's not that surprising huh? Ghahaha!" "R-R-Right." They stammered together. "Anyway! I gotta search some more!" Eli rushed off to continue interviewing the rest of Ponyville. Much like his first visit here, he focused on everyone, leaving no one in the dust. He stopped by Sweet Apple Acres to check up on the Apple Family and the ongoings there. Eli ended up spotting a Delta Riolu for the first time from his alternate appearance and his typing. "Right from the Holon Region. The newest member to our team right here." Applejack held the Embalming Pokemon out. "Riolu!" "From the Holon Region?! I haven't been there yet but I heard there are so many Delta Pokemon around! Radical! Look at how cute it is!" He gushed over Alpha Riolu before then switching to Apple Bloom who had caught so many Grass-Type Pokemon it was ridiculous. Granted, it wasn't all of them but it was certainly a heaping amount. "I've got uh...42 of 'em!" Apple Bloom counted. "There's way more out there for me." "Nice! Have you ever thought about becoming a Gym Leader in the future?" Eli wrote all of this down as Apple Bloom would soon go on about what she was doing next. Mainly being an apprentice to the Pokemon Breeder and Doctor expert, Brock. Next, he focused on trainers that had the same Pokemon with multiple numbers. Mainly Pinkie Pie and Rarity with their 7 Slurpuff and 12 Leavanny. "So, for all of these groups, you have the strongest out of each of them, right?" He asked. "That's right. The one in the middle is my absolute strongest Leavanny." Rarity showed her middle Leavanny who had stepped forward. "I don't really have a Slurpuff that's stronger than the rest." Pinkie Pie shrugged. "They're all pretty good at what they do." "Hm-hm. But how do you tell them apart? I mean, you've got so many, does it get difficult to know who's who?" "It-" That was a stunning question as it made Rarity and Pinkie Pie pause. They gandered at their Pokemon, noticing how to this day, they had yet to name them. "Hm. I suppose we don't have names for all of them." "I just have each of them sniff each other out so they know who's who. Plus, thanks to that Fairy Magic inside of me, I've got some good sniffing abilities too. Pretty nifty!" "Oh, right! I heard that you and Fluttershy were taught by Valerie. How does it feel to have some Fairy Magic inside of you? What can you do?" "Beats me. I just smell stuff better and everything sometimes becomes pink. Oh, but I can see Fairy Magic happen when no one else can." Pinkie Pie explained. "I should ask Valerie for more things to learn since she's the expert." "Right! I know what I should do!" Rarity clapped her hooves. "I should give each of my Leavanny special capes, scarves or badges! My strongest will hold a golden badge! Or a scarlet cape while the rest wear blue! You all don't mind that do you?" "Leavanny!" As long as they get to look stylish, the Leavanny don't mind." "Nice-nice! Say...There's also something about your little sister? I hear from Fantina that she's got a Phione helping out? Something about a stairway?" "Oh, you haven't seen it? It's going to be marvellous! A stairway to the cosmos!" Rarity looked to the skies. "With Phione giving us advice which comes from Arceus himself, soon, we will be able to reach Jirachi." "How come you haven't just gone out and explored for Jirachi? That's what most Trainers do anyway for certain Pokemon." Eli asked. "We would've. But that blasted Rift has been purposefully stopping us from having our chances to find Jirachi. Especially when it had prevented all Jirachi in existence from coming down to Earth. Hmph! How rude!" "That is pretty unfair." Eli nodded. "But with that stairway, you can reach Jirachi which is commonly found in space. If you see Rayquaza up there, let me know, okay? That'd be radical!" He continued his interview after finishing with Pinkie and Rarity. His notes were only piling up. Stopping by the Ash Ketchum Fanclub gave him further insight on Ash's reputation here plus the eventual merging of both this Fanclub and the Rainbow Dash Fanclub. Life with Pokemon has certainly done wonders for the ponies. From delivering letters with the existence of the Pelipper to even controlling the weather on an equal wavelength with the Pegasi thanks to the Flying-Types. The same went for everywhere else as Eli went for Canterlot next. There, he could spot the stairway that was incomplete but radiated such a beautiful golden outline. And there in the city of Canterlot, he saw Ash and Pikachu about. Not only that but there was a heavy amount of pegasi around Canterlot which was usually a unicorn heavy area. Mainly pegasi from Pegalysium as seen by their tipped wings. "Oh! What's happening here?!" Eli exclaimed, rushing over to the scene. "Ah, the Pokemon Weekly Reporter. You're just in time to see this." Fleur-De-Lis spoke. "Pegasi from Pegalysium are coming over after an agreed alliance with Equestria had been made. This is their visiting moment." "Mhm." Ash nodded. "They're gonna see a lot more with Pokemon now down here. But I bet there's just as many of them up there." "Pikachu." "Good stuff! Well, I've got something to say. Ash. What's it like being the King of the Sea?" He quickly shifted his focus onto Ash, rapidly going from one topic to another. "That's a huge title!" "It is?" "Of course it is! The sea makes up a majority of the Pokemon World! If anything, you own most of the world as we know it!" "He has a point, Ash," said Fleur-de-lis. "You might as well be the world's most important figure with all of that control. All of the Water-Type Pokemon and the sea itself are yours to control. We should be calling your King Ash or your majesty, but oh, how you insist we don't." "Well, I'm just fine with Ash but if you wanna call me that, then it's totally fine. But I think Kyogre's still the big boss of the sea since it made the whole thing." "Either way, you should be thrilled! Relish in your status! It must be better than shooting to become number and beating Leon, right?" "I've been trying to tell him this!" Sombra showed himself as his shadowy figure, emerging before Eli's eyes. "The fact that you aren't revelling in your Kingly status is absurd. King of the Sea, no less. Be it me, I would be beyond ecstatic. That is the closest to ruling the entire world." "Eh...What is that?!" Eli pointed at Sombra. "Ash, I didn't know you had a dark spirit inside of you! Creepy..." "Ah, this is Sombra. He's the previous ruler of the Crystal Empire. He's kinda stuck to me right now, but I think we're kinda getting along here and there." "I doubt it." Sombra doubted it greatly. "Your mere presence makes me sick. But...you aren't that bad. You do have potential and show promise here and there." "Oh, previous ruler as a shadow now? Tell me all about yourself!" Eli was now interested in Sombra. "I'm a reporter from Pokemon Weekly so ask away!" "Myself? Hm." Sombra smirked. "If you're a reporter then write all of this down. About my great rule and the legend that I left behind and will soon continue to make." This was a massive opportunity for Sombra. He was about to chatter until the bitter end, only stroking his ego. This would go on for hours as Fleur-de-lis had already left whilst the pegasi of Pegalysium continued to have a tour of Equestria now that they were here. The sun was starting to set slowly with its orange glow glistening. Eli wasn't done as there were a few more to interview. "So, Princess Celestia. Princess Luna. Anything new to offer?" Eli went over to the two sisters after listening to Sombra. "Nothing to report now." Celestia shook her head. "The day is coming to an end anyway." "Okay. But, what is Princess Luna doing right now?" Eli pointed at Luna who was currently standing next to her Xatu. Xatu's eyes were flashing, giving off potential premonitions. "Oooh...Another premonition? What is it about now? "Xatu..." "Xatu says that he's seen a lot in the future." Darkrai translated. "Something about a Pikachu with a hat, shadows and a group of ponies. That's all." "Pikachu...Shadows...Ponies." Eli wrote it all down. "Got it! I'm sure I can decipher it somehow. "Those Xatu premonitions must be chilling sometimes, right?" "Sometimes..." Luna repeated, knowing this to be true. Xatu can give off unnerving premonitions, but all of that was standard fare for the Xatu Species. "Well, anyway. I think my work here is done. I can tell that Equestria's doing alright." Eli closed his notebook. "It is. But I have faith that it can do better." Celestia looked outside, gazing at her subjects. "We have a ways to go before we can reach the type of world we want to be in. Especially with what we're facing off against." "Cosmic forces, alter egos and empires galore." Luna walked over. "All of those are the only things that stand in our way. But after it is all said and done..." "Then you'll be smooth sailing." Eli finished. "Your world might as well end up like another Pokemon Region, right? I bet that's what it might look like in the near future." "Yes...I suppose it will." Celestia and Luna agreed on that. Equestria itself was essentially becoming another Pokemon Region entirely. From the Equestria League to the brand-new Pokemon exclusive locations, it might as well be another region on another side. "See you around then!" Eli waved goodbye, finally returning to his world once he got everything he wanted down. "I'll be back another time!" "Chatot! Back another time!" Another Pokemon Weekly interview had come to an end. This time, it was all about how the world had changed after these 3 years have passed. Granted, these changes weren't slowing down for anything, even with cosmic interference. But that is the charm of it all. To many of Equestria's residents and beyond, to the Pokemon World entirely, it could be potentially seen as a never-ending, ever-wonderful tale. As the journey continues. Chapter 731 End.
