// Story: Sunset Shimmer’s Journey Through Kalos

Sunset Shimmer arrives in the Kalos Region to prove that she's no longer a she demon. After graduation from Canterlot High School, she was thrown out of the party by a young lady named Luster Dawn, who still thinks that she's a bully. So now, with a Pokémon by her side, she sets off on a journey across the Kalos Region. 


SUNSET'S NEW POSSE


As she walks down the road, Sunset Shimmer checks out a little tablet she was given before setting off on her journey. 
"According to this electronic map Rosie gave me," Sunset said to herself, "I have to make my way through Aquacorde Town and Santalune Forest before arriving at Santalune City."
Just then, she saw a little brown bird near a tree. 
"Wow!" Sunset gasped as she reached for her Pokédex. "A Pidgey!"
The Pokédex spoke in a calm female voice. Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. Pidgey has a good sense of direction and can find it's way home no matter how far.
After putting away her Pokédex, she grabs a Poké Ball and tosses it in the air. "Fenniken! I choose you!"
The Poké Ball opens and Fenniken pops out to confront Pidgey.
"Let's do this, Fenniken." Sunset said. "Use Tackle!"
Fenniken rushes in to tackle Pidgey. After recovering, Pidgey starts kicking sand towards the fox Pokémon. 
"Dodge it!" Fenniken gets away from the Sand Attack as Sunset gives out another command. "Use Ember!"
Fenniken unleashes small bursts of fire, and they strike Pidgey. Seeing a chance, Sunset grabs an empty Poké Ball and tosses it to Pidgey. "Poké Ball, GO!"
The ball hits Pidgey, opens up, and encases the Tiny Bird Pokémon. After a few shakes, the ball clicks which indicates that Pidgey is captured.
Sunset picks up her Poké Ball, and realized that she was successful. "Yes! I caught my first Pokémon!" She then cuddles Fenniken. "Good work. Fenniken. I'm glad I chose you as my companion."
Little do they both know that they were watched by a green and brown creature with spikes on its head. It rushes away from the scene. Meanwhile, a light orange skinned girl with purple hair in pigtails rested under a tree. She had on a red polo shirt and a magenta skirt with a pair of black shoes on the side.  The creature rushes up and cries to the girl. She then woke up.
"What's the matter, Chespin?" The girl asked.
"CHES! CHES! CHESPIN!" The creature cried as it points to something it saw. 
After putting on her shoes, the girl followed the green critter. They soon saw Sunset Shimmer and Fenniken.
"It's a Pokémon trainer and a Fenniken." The girl said.
Soon, Sunset saw another bird on a low branch of a tree. This one was light gray with a red head, black tail feathers and feet. As Sunset takes out her Pokédex, the mysterious girl saw what the bird was. "It's a Fletchling."
Fletchling, the Tiny Robin Pokémon.  The Pokédex said. Despite it's small size, this Pokémon doesn't back down from a battle.
"Well, Fenniken," Sunset said with determination, "let's catch this Pokémon too."
"WAIT!" Cried the voice of a young girl. It turned out to be the girl who was watching Sunset and Fenniken. "Please, don't catch that Pokémon!"
Sunset got a little worried. "I'm sorry. Is that your Fletchling?"
"No. It's a wild Fletchling. Please, let ME catch it. My little Chespin is in need of a playmate."
Sunset sees this green critter, and pulls out her Pokédex. "So, that's a Chespin, huh?"
 Chespin,  the Spiny Nut Pokémon. The Pokédex informed.  It can defend itself with it's hard shell and can fight with the quills on its head. 
"Isn't your Chespin at a disadvantage?" Sunset wondered. "A grass type like Chespin is weak against a flying type like Fletchling."
"I got that covered." The girl said as she turns to her Pokémon. "Chespin, Use Tackle on that tree!"
Chespin rushed over and hit the tree. This causes Fletchling to lose balance and fall to the ground. The girl was very happy. "Now, Use Vine Whip!"
Two vines extended out of Chespin, and struck Fletchling hard, even though Fletchling has a type advantage. The girl takes out an empty Poké Ball and tosses it at the Fletchling. "Poké Ball, GO!'
The ball hits Fletchling, and encases it inside. The ball shakes a few times, then clicks.
"Hooray!" The girl cheered. "I caught a Fletchling!"
"Nice work." Sunset praised. "You and Chespin made a good team."
"Thank you. By the way, my name is Sunny. Sunny Starscout."
"Nice to meet you, Sunny. My name is Sunset Shimmer."
"Shimmer?" Sunny gasped. "You're that girl from Canterlot City who made up for past misdeeds at your school."
Sunset blushed. "Yeah. Basically."
The two girls soon made their way to Aquacorde Town. 
"You live in Aquacorde Town?" Sunset asked.
"I do." Sunny answered. "I live with a kind couple who agreed to let me live with them after my father passed away."
"How did he die?"
"He was working at a lighthouse in Maretime Bay. But, it suddenly collapsed. I was heartbroken."
This made Sunset feel sad. They soon saw a light magenta skinned girl with blue hair in a ponytail. She wore a blue tank top and navy blue 3/4 tights. She was doing some yoga stretches on a pink mat as a blue frog watches her.
"That girl is Izzy Moonbow. A good friend of mine." Sunny said quietly. "And, that frog is Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokémon."
Sunset pulls out her Pokédex to study Froakie.
 Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokémon. The Pokédex said. The foam on its chest can defend from attack or used to throw at any attacking foes.
The girls quietly left Izzy and Froakie to head to Aquacorde Town. What they didn't know, Izzy soon watched them head for town.

In Aquacorde Town, Sunset and Sunny left a building with a red roof.
"Not quite a regular Pokémon Center," Sunny explained, "but they help heal your Pokémon." 
"Thanks,  Sunny." Sunset said happily. "So, you want to tag along with me?"
"I sure do. You can always use a traveling companion during this journey.  Someone has to make sure this Luster Dawn person doesn't cause you anymore trouble."
Sunset thought about that offer for a moment. Then, she gave Sunny her response. "You can come along, Sunny. If legendary Pokémon trainer, Ash Ketchum, can have traveling companions, so can I."
"Great!" Sunny cheered. "I'll head for home and start packing."
Sunny runs off to prepare to join Sunset on her journey. Minutes later, Izzy Moonbow arrives carrying her mat and a small bag with her. She then started talking to Sunset. "Sunset Shimmer. The former bully of CHS who has seen the light. I was hoping to meet you someday."
This left Sunset shocked. Meanwhile, Sunny Starscout left her house with a backpack strapped to her. "I'm glad that kind couple gave me the green light to travel. With Chespin and Fletchling by my side, I'm ready for anything."
As Sunny gets back to Sunset, Fenniken and Pidgey were enjoying some Pokémon food Sunset brought with her.
"Fenniken, the Fox Pokémon." Izzy said while looking at a book. "Seering heat comes from it's ears to keep enemies at a distance."
"That would be something I hear from my Pokédex." Sunset said.
"I like the paperback version." Izzy explained. "Don't get me wrong, The hi tech gadget is cool. But, I always like to read about Pokémon by myself. " She holds up a brown book with a green number 6 on it. "I have volumes one to six with me. Each book had information on the Pokémon that were first discovered in specific regions."
"Do you have volumes seven and eight?"
"For Alola and Galar? Not yet. But, I'm looking out for those books."
Sunny then runs up to join the other girls.
"Hi, Izzy." Sunny said. "I see you met Sunset Shimmer."
"Yes I have." Izzy replied. "She was telling me that she's traveling through Kalos as a Pokémon trainer."
"Well, I was given permission to travel with her. This way, nobody can hurt her."
Izzy soon has an idea. "I would like to travel with you guys."
Sunny and Sunset were surprised to hear that.
"You are?" Sunny gasped.
"Why not." Izzy replied. "My folks would love for me to do some exploring."
Soon, the three girls were outside Aquacorde Town and looking at Route 2. Izzy changed her clothes. She wore a blue long sleeve shirt, light blue capris, and black sneakers.
"Time for us to hit the road." Sunset announced.
"You got it." Izzy replied. "But first,.."
Izzy soon bent down and rolled up the cuffs on Sunset’s bib overalls.
'I never thought of that." Sunset said happily.
"Most folks sometimes roll up the cuffs of bib overalls." Izzy explained. "Gives it a good farmer style."
Sunset was very impressed with Izzy's idea.
"Next stop," Sunny announced.
"Santalune City!" Izzy Saud proudly.
Sunset finished the announcement. "And, Gym Battle number 1!"
And so, Sunset and her new companions make their way to Santalune City, and Sunset's first gym battle. Meanwhile, in Canterlot City, Cadence has a talk with Abacus Cinch, who's attempting her own redemption. 
"Are you sure, Cadence?" Cinch asked.
"You heard right." Cadence replied. "Luster Dawn sneaked on a flight to Kalos. She still thinks that Sunset is rotten to the core."
"I hope Sunset does well as a Pokémon trainer, despite what Miss Dawn thinks.”
