The Death of Lab 14

23) Experiment Cora

{Henry}

I put my hands on my hips when I saw James in a scolding manner. "Well now, it's about time you showed up! I was beginning to think you got killed or something."

James paused when he saw me. Then he smiled. "Now look who's here! Experiment Henry, my, my, how much you've grown! No wonder why-"

He didn't finish his sentence when he looked over and saw Cora tied up by Tiger Stripes. He snapped, "Release Head Cora now!"

I tapped my chin with my index finger and then shook my head. "Hmm, yeah I would but no."

James sneered, "Why you little-"

James charged at me and before he got close to me I summoned a lightning bolt and threw it at him. The lightning bolt landed mere inches in front of him. He stopped short and stood shaking when that happened. He looked over at Cora. "Head Cora did you-"

Cora shook her head. "It wasn't me and as you can see I'm a little tied up right to even try and figure out  an explanation."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm sorry but you're not going to get a chance to look for one. Not after today you won't!"

Cora snarled when she saw Ada laughing again. "What is so funny, Experiment Ada? When I get my hands on you again-"

"You'll do what?" Ada sneered. "Discipline me again? Oh I'm so scared, someone help me please!"

Derek didn't even bother to stop laughing. I wondered if he was going to pass out. He kept laughing so hard.

Ada looked over at Derek laughing and frowned. "Uh, God Henry?"

"Yes, Ada?" I said.

"Can you stop God Derek from laughing so much? He might pass out," Ada said with concern.

This statement only added fuel to Derek's laughter.

I shrugged. "Nah, besides if he does pass out it won't be for too long anyway. We just came back from the dead, so yeah I'm not worried."

James paused. "Wait, Experiment Ada, did you just call an experiment god?"

"Yeah, so?" Ada said. It was kind of funny to me because she said it so casually.

"An experiment is NOT a god! There's no way that's possible!" James snarled.

"It's too bad you missed the show because God Henry and God Derek did just come back from the dead literally," Ada said.

James looked to Cora to confirm this, she sighed and nodded. "Yes it's true, I saw it. One moment they were dead and then the next moment, they just popped up like nothing happened."

Tiger Stripes let out a loud shout and just like with Experiment Elena and Experiment Wren, Tiger Stripes shout froze James in place. The next thing that happened was we came under a hail of bullets from out of nowhere.

"You've got to be kidding me!" I said. "Okay fine, you asked for it! Unicorn!"

I transformed and summoned my shields again. This time instead of using them to kill, I used them to protect Ada. I was relieved when I saw that I didn't have to protect Cora and James because Tiger Stripes had put a doomlike shield around them.

James smirked. "Don't worry Head Cora, we'll be out of this situation in no time! I called the firing squad before I got here. I  knew there was trouble when I saw Experiment Elena and Experiment Wren's dead bodies next to their rooms."

"What?" I said. "Last time I checked, they were alive when we saw them."

"They're dead," said James, "it looked like they bleed to death with the number 14 carved in both of their arms."

Derek snorted. "That was me that did that! Wow, I didn't know Lab 14 would let my 'fake future wife' die. Oh well."

Cora's eyes went wide in horror. "No way, they were supposed to be stitched up and ready to go for the weddings by now!"

Ada smirked. "Aww poor Head Cora, Lab 14's never going to the children they so desire."

As Ada was busy taunting Cora about Experiment Elena and Experiment Wren dying Derek and I were busy squashing the firing squad like a bunch of bugs. Finally, when the last person of the firing squad was killed, I put my shields away and shouted, "Human!"

Once I was transformed into a human, I dusted my hands off. "Hopefully we won't have any more interruptions. So why don't we begin with your punishment huh, Cora?"

Cora's eyes went even wider than before. Derek whistled  when he saw that. "Wow Henry it looks like you've struck fear into her heart. Gee I didn't know she had feelings!"

"I'm not scared! I'm-" Cora answered quickly.

I rolled my eyes and cut her off. "You know when someone says something that quickly, they're in denial so bad."

I gave Cora my best sinister smile. Finally it was time for her punishment.

{Cora}

The next time I woke up, I was terrified. I had to admit, I've never felt afraid of anything in my life except for Venom of course. Experiment Henry was towering over me with a sinister smile on his face. "Well, well, Experiment Cora's awake finally. Did you have a nice nap?"

"I'm not a damn experiment, Experiment Henry!" I snapped.

Experiment Henry laughed wickedly, "Now where have I heard that line before? In case you're wondering, yes you're tied down to something. I wonder if you can guess what you're tied down to? I'm going to give you a little hint it starts with a 'd'."

I looked down to see I was tied to one of the data gathering chairs and the fear inside of me multiplied. This can't be happening! I'm dreaming! I'm dreaming, that's right! Yup I'm dreaming!

"Wow, Experiment Cora," Experiment Henry laughed, "you look like you've seen a ghost! For the record I'm not Experiment Henry, just call me Henry, will you? Or you want to be more correct, God Henry."

"THERE'S NO WAY I'M CALLING AN EXPERIMENT GOD! OVER MY DEAD BODY!" I shouted. "AND I'M NOT A DAMN EXPERIMENT! I'M THE HEAD OF LAB 14!"

"I hate to break it to you, Experiment Cora," Experiment Henry said, "but Lab 14's gone. We're in the very last location of it and once Derek and I are done with you Lab 14 will be gone for good."

Then I heard a hissing noise in my ear. "Master God Henry, can I let you in on a little secret?"

Experiment Henry tilted his head. "Sure Tiger Stripes, what is it?"

"The reason why Experiment Cora doesn't have a kind bone in her body is because she has someone inhabiting her body that is making her heart dark and keeping it that way," Tiger Stripes said. "Oh Venom! Why don't you come out and play?"

I gasped for air as I felt something being pulled out of me. After the feeling left I looked to see Venom standing in front of me and not staring at me in a mirror. She had blue handcuffs on her wrists and struggled to get free of them but it was of no use.

"Let me go now!" Venom shrieked.

Tiger Stripes laughed and it was a strange laugh, I can't even begin to describe what his laugh sounded like. Although when I got a good look at him, he looked like a snake that was blue and had tiger stripes going up and down his body. So I guess the name Tiger Stripes suited him. "Oh Venom you've been such a tricky god to track down. It seems you've found a way around the whole barrier law. You've been able to inhabit someone's body to mask your powers. I think The Grand God Council is going to have to look into this. Although technically you didn't break the law until after the In Between became a universe. Either way, that's why there were scouts sent out like me, to track down gods like you and bring them to the Downward for punishment. Oh and one more thing, Experiment Cora."

"What?" I growled.

"I'm sensing from your emotions that you've been wanting to call Master God Henry by his rightful title this whole entire time," Tiger Stripes said. "But with Venom inside of you, she had been making sure that didn't happen, am I right? Well, if I am then you can go ahead and do what you so desire. If not, oh well, either way, I'll be taking Venom to the Downward. The Dark and his wife will deal with Venom when she goes back home to the Underneath."

Venom looked panicked when Tiger Stripes said that. "No! Don't take me back there! I don't want to go back!"

Tiger Stripes laughed, "That's why the shadows of the Downward sent scouts like me to track gods like you that break the rules. Too bad, you're going back and it looks like you're going back kicking and screaming. But before I go, I do want to hear if my guess about Master God Henry is right from you Experiment Cora."

I bit my bottom lip. Even though Tiger Stripes was right, I didn't want to do what I desired so badly to do. I didn't want to do it in front of Experiment Henry, nope if I was going to do it I would do it in private. Tiger Stripes smiled. "Wow, Experiment Cora, I know that you know I'm right. But it seems you have too much pride to actually do it. Oh well, come on Venom, it's time for you to go back home."

I heard Venom's screaming as Tiger Stripes dragged her away.

The world kept fading from me  off and on because of the pain Experiment Henry put me under. Of course now, I've swallowed my pride and started calling him God Henry. Every time I called him God Henry, I begged for the pain to stop. It seems that no matter how hard I begged my pleas fell on deaf ears. I didn't realize how much pain I had put my experiments under in all the testing I put them through. Of course, I didn't realize it until I found myself on the other end of the stick.

I was surprised that God Henry didn't do the iron test on me or tie me to the ceiling. I wondered why he didn't do it.

Through one of the tests God Henry put me under, I looked over when I heard James screaming and begging God Derek to stop the pain he was putting him under.

"Please, stop this madness, Experiment Derek!" James pleaded.

"Excuse me?" God Derek snarled. "I wish you would stop calling me a damn Experiment! I'm not an experiment and I never was to begin with! Okay I'm done hearing your voice, it's getting on my nerves. Henry?"

"Yes, Derek?" God Henry said.

"Do you remember where the voice box technology is?" God Derek asked.

God Henry smiled and told God Derek what room the technology was in. I stared in horror at the thought that James' voice was going to be taken away from him. The procedure has to be done just right or it can be fatal. I didn't dare do it on God Henry until I perfected the technique. Once I did I used it as a form of punishment for him. He was stubborn, it didn't matter to him if his voice was gone, he wasn't going to cooperate with me, not one little bit. That's another reason why I envied him. His strength and his endurance, Eleanor was right I would never measure up to him.

As God Derek was taking James away I looked over to see Experiment Ada laying on a cot on the other side of the room sleeping. Or at least it looked like she was sleeping, she was tied up with an iron chain as she laid there.

"In case you're wondering, Ada's not dead," said God Henry, "she's asleep, the poor thing. It's been a stressful day for her. No, I'm not killing her. Even though she was misguided in her attempts to save me from you, she was still trying to help. I figured it would be best to have her sleep so she doesn't level the building with an earthquake."

"Oh," I said.

"Now where were we?" God Henry said.

I was in tears by the time the next test was done.

{Henry}

I was having way too much fun giving Cora her punishment. Listening to her screams begging for me to stop and the best part of all she called me God Henry while doing so. After I had my fun with torturing her I decided it was time to do the final test I had in mind.

Derek had already taken James' voice away from him and wheeled him back into the room where I had Cora in. James didn't not look happy, but at this point, I didn't care.

During Cora's testing there was no way I was going to let her die. I didn't want to have to resurrect her to continue her punishment, once she's dead I decided she would stay dead. An evil person like her should not be able to see the light of day again after they've died once.

Once James came back from his voice being taken out, Derek had James' voice box in his hand and was throwing it up and down as if the voice box were a toy.

I rolled my eyes. "You're having way too much taunting this guy aren't you Derek?"

Derek smirked. "What the guy kept calling me an experiment. I'm not a damn experiment for crying out loud! If I was, I still wouldn't want the 'experiment' attached to my name."

"Oh well, it sucks to be Experiment Cora," I snorted. "She'll have that word attached to her name down to her very last breath."

"I'm not a damn experiment God Henry!" Cora cried.

I rolled my eyes and growled, "Too bad, you're an experiment, get used to it!"

Cora snarled at me, but it didn't bother me, not one little bit. By now, I'm pretty immune to Cora trying to strike fear into my heart. I mocked her, "Aww, that's so cute! Experiment Cora is once again trying to strike fear into my heart. I'm sooo terrified!"

Derek was trying to keep himself standing up because he was laughing so hard. I almost rolled my eyes at it but I didn't want to spoil Derek's fun.

Uh, Derek? I think it's time for the final test, don't you? I thought.

Derek stopped laughing and I saw him throw up in his mouth because he knew what I was talking about. Yeah, are you sure it's time?

Yeah I'm sure. I've had my fun. I'm done with her. But I need to take her voice away first, I'm tired of hearing her screams for mercy. I thought.

Derek nodded. So I untied Cora and put her in the same type of chair Derek had put James in. I grabbed a pair of earplugs and put them in because Cora started to scream bloody murder as she realized her voice was going to be taken away. I was going to turn her voice into a box and after I took it out she would never get it back.
