After two days of traveling through the desert which was the final obstacle to their destination. The girls finally made it to Olivine City which was below them from the cliff they were standing on. After following the path down they entered the city which was busy. As they were walking they soon came across the Olivine City Gym.

“Finally after days of walking, we made it,” Turquoise said before noticing a sign on the door.

“Out traveling and training for the Wallace Cup so the gym will be closed until further notice,” The sign said.

“Not fair we came all this way for nothing,” Turquoise said in disappointment.

“Maybe that sign was from months ago and she is back,” Fluttershy said trying to cheer Turquoise up.

“Sorry kids but that was posted a couple of weeks ago and Ms. Jasmine is still out there,” A woman in her mid-twenties with short blue hair wearing a sundress said.

“So we traveled all this way for nothing,” Turquoise repeated while feeling down some more.

“Cheer up the Wallace Cup is in two weeks I’m sure Ms. Jasmine will be back after that,” The woman said assuringly. “In the meantime what are your names?

“I’m Turquoise,” Turquoise said.

“And I’m Fluttershy,” Fluttershy said.

“Pleasure to meet you two, I’m Janina and I’m the official judge for this gym and ms. Jasmine’s number one student,” Janina said. “Anyway, why don’t we go somewhere and talk more. Janina took the girls to her place. “So tell me what brings you, kids, all the way to our city?

“I came to challenge the gym leader and maybe pick her brain on some contest advice,” Turquoise said.

“So you're doing both the Johto league and the Grand Festival?” Janina asked.

“I am,” Turquoise said.

“That’s pretty cool,” Janina said. “But about picking Jasmine’s brain for advice, why do you need it?

“Because recently I failed to make the cut for the second round in my last contest,” Turquoise said.

“Ouch and I thought Ms. Jasmine had it hard during her first time entering contests,” Janina said.

“What happened?” Fluttershy asked.

“When contests were first established here in Johto Ms. Jasmine was excited to try them but they were different from gym battles with all the dazzling appeal and performances,” Janina said before continuing. “Naturally it took her some time to develop her style which elevated her to being one of the top coordinators in the world. I know you can develop your style too since you did win the Kanto grand festival after all.

“How did you know that?” Turquoise asked.

“Ms. Jasmine has told me all about you after she came back from her journey in Kanto and I wanted to meet you ever since,” Janina said.

“I’m guessing she mentioned how I beat her at the tag battle in Steel City?” Turquoise asked.

“She did and how you won with contest moves,” Janina said.

“So back to the Wallace Cup, Where is it being held?” Turquoise asked.

“It’s at Lake Valor in the Sinnoh Region,” Janina said.

“Well since we can’t challenge the gym here then I guess we are taking a trip to Sinnoh,” Turquoise said.

“I’m afraid there is no boat in this port that will take you to Sinnoh,” Janina said.

“So how do we get there?” Fluttershy asked.

“I remember there being a boat in Cianwood City that goes to the Valor Lakefront,” Janina said.

“Guess we know where we are going next,” Fluttershy said.

“But the trip between Cianwood City and the Valor Lakefront will take about three days and that is only if you can board it before it leaves,” Janina said before remembering something. “Almost forgot I need to check on Sparkle.

“Whos Sparkle?” Turquoise asked.

“Ms. Jasmine’s beloved pokemon,” Janina said before leaving with the girls following from behind. Sometime later the girls and Janina were at the top of an old lighthouse where a sick Amphroros was laying down. “This is Sparkle she provides the light that guides ships to our port. Fluttershy examined Sparkle and could tell she was not feeling well.

“Based on the symptoms I would say Sparkle is suffering from static overload which is a common illness among electric-types,” Fluttershy said.

“So does that mean we need to find a way to get rid of the excess electricity?” Turquoise asked.

“No need it just so happens there is a special medicine in the Pharmacy in Cianwood City that cures this kind of ailment,” Janina said. Suddenly an old man came up the stairs and was glad to see Janina.

“Good news Janina, the medicine is ready and awaiting pick up,” The old man said.

“That’s great news,” Janina said before introducing the girls to him. “Girls this is Miren, Jasmine’s grandfather.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Turquoise,” Turquoise said.

“And I’m Fluttershy,” Fluttershy said.

“And I assume you girls were hoping to challenge my granddaughter for a mineral badge?” Miren asked.

“That was my original plan,” Turquoise said.

“I’m sorry to say but when Jasmine goes on these journeys of hers there is no telling when she will be back,” Miren said.

“So I guess this means I need to find another gym to challenge,” Turquoise said.

“Unless you can convince her to come back I’m afraid so,” Miren said.

“Looks like our next stop is Cianwood City,” Fluttershy said before asking where it is.

“It’s on an island a few kilometers from the Whirl Islands but the next ferry won’t be here for another few hours,” Miren said. Just before they could leave the sound of the window breaking was heard and standing by it was Team Supernova.

“What are you three doing here?” Turquoise asked.

“We came to steal that Amphoros for the bosses,” Isabelle said.

“Not if we can help it, go Espeon,” Turquoise said as she called out Espeon who was ready to go.

“Go Sandaconda,” Isabelle said as a big snake that was coiled up like a spring with green eyes and a big donut-shaped thing around its head came out looking ready to attack.

“What is that pokemon?” Turquoise asked before pulling out her Pokedex.

“Sandaconda, The Sand Snake Pokemon and the evolved form of Silicorbra. When it contracts its body, over 220 pounds of sand sprays from its nose. If it ever runs out of sand, it becomes disheartened,” The Pokedex said.

Surprise Dorkette my Silicobra evolved and now you are in for it,” Isabelle said before getting ready to battle. “Sandaconda use Slam. Sandaconda lunged forward and prepared to slam into Espeon.

“Espeon use Swift. Espeon managed to nail Sandaconda with Swift which caused it to spit out some sand and create a sandstorm inside the room. “Are you kidding me Sandaconda has the Sand Spit ability too? Team Supernova used the sandstorm as cover for their getaway and managed to hop into a Mightyena shaped hot air balloon they had outside the lighthouse. As soon as the sandstorm cleared Team Supernova was gone.

“We need to get Sparkle back,” Janina said.

“Relax Janina they couldn't have gotten far,” Fluttershy said.





Team supernova was now sailing over the city approaching the bay.

“Just a bit further and we will have escaped the Dorkettes reach,” Chris said.

“Let’s try not to get too overconfident, we haven't escaped yet,” Meowth said. Suddenly Turquoise and the others were right on their tail.

“Give Sparkle back Team Supernova,” Turquoise shouted.

“Like that is happening, Sandaconda use Mud Shot,” Isabelle said before having Sandaconda hang from the bottom of Sparkle’s cage and then unleashed a barrage of mud balls as they floated above the water.

“Steelix help us out,” Janina said as she called out her Steelix which looked slightly smaller compared to Jasmine’s Steelix. “Steelix bite onto one of the rocks and use Bind on that Sandaconda. Steelix suddenly bit into one of the rocks by the dock and then wrapped its tail around Sandaconda which made it look shocked. Steelix was now forming a bridge for Janina to run on while holding a rock. This suddenly bright back memories for Janina from when she was a kid. Janina reached the cage and then began smashing the rock on the lock.

“Oh no you don’t, Metang stop that woman,” Chris said as he called out his Metang which hovered behind Janina. “Use Psychic. Metang’s eyes glowed blue as it used Psychic to pull Janina away from the cage. Suddenly Turquoise ran and then leaped into the air before throwing one of her Pokeballs.

“Umbreon use Shadowball,” Turquoise said before Umbreon came out and unleashed shadow ball on Metang. Both Turquoise and Umbreon landed gracefully on Steelix as the shadow ball nailed Metang and disrupted Psychic thus allowing Janina to continue breaking the lock. After a few more hits the lock broke and Janina carried sparkle back to safety.

“Ok, Steelix let them go,” Janina said before Steelix undid its bind and caused Sandaconda to faint alongside Metang. Isabelle and Chris recalled their pokemon before flying off.

“You dorks haven't seen the last of us,” Isabelle and Chris shouted in unison as their balloon flew off into the horizon. Sometime later the girls helped Janina bring Sparkle back to her spot at the top of the old lighthouse.

“Time to get that medicine for Sparkle,” Janina said.

“The next ferry to Cianwood City has just arrived,” Miren said.

“Just in time,” Janina said.

“Listen Turquoise I know you came here to challenge my granddaughter and I’m sorry you couldn't,” Miren said.

“It's ok I can get that mineral badge another time,” Turquoise said.

“But in the meantime why don’t you and Fluttershy accompany Janina to Cianwood City? Miren suggested before continuing. “They have a gym in Cianwood City also and Chuck is one tough opponent.

“Did you say, Chuck?” Turquoise asked.

“I assume you met him already?” Fluttershy asked.

“That’s right you weren't in Saffron City with us at the time,” Turquoise said before elaborating. “We met Chuck at the P1 Tournament that has held at the dojo in Saffron City despite being flabby-looking he is one strong fighting-type master.

“I can assume you're also planning to compete in the Wallace Cup with Ms. Jasmine?” Janina asked.

“Not just because it will bring her back to her gym but also so I can try to regain my confidence and skill as a coordinator,” Turquoise said.

“Say didn't Applejack tell us that Rarity will be in Sinnoh?” Fluttershy asked.

“She did maybe we will run into them,” Turquoise said.

“Whatever your plans are we need to get moving before the ferry to Cianwood City leaves,” Janina said before the three of them left for the harbor. They made it just in time to board the next ferry to Cianwood City. Even though Turquoise didn’t get a chance to challenge jasmine she was looking forward to challenging Chuck since she didn’t get to do so back in Saffron City.





Meanwhile, with Team Supernova the burner for their balloon ran out of juice which caused them to fall into the ocean. Luckily for them, they washed up on the shore of a beach.

“Where are we?” Chris asked. Suddenly they heard the sound of a big man and his Poliwrath doing some special training.

“Now Poliwrath let's see your submission attack,” The man said before he and his Poliwrath rolled around while grappling each other. Unfortunately for team Supernova, they were hit by it very hard which sent them flying off. “Not bad a little more practice and it will be perfect,” The man said.
