//------------------------------// // This is the only chapter // Story: Rarity's Teleportation Problem // by Richard79 //------------------------------// Rarity’s Teleportation Problem Something shocking had happened to Spike not more than two weeks ago. A certain white unicorn wasn’t sure how to take this sudden change of events. She’d known Spike for years, now he was taller, and his physical body had her staring more than normal. Spike had caught fleeting glances for a second, but she’d always turn away whenever he’d noticed. Something strange was happening with her horn as of late, it would start to glow each time she thought about Spike. “Horn now you stop that.” Rarity protested when an image of Spike popped into her head. She had been putting on the fire heart ruby he’d given her like she enjoyed doing whenever he wasn’t around. Her horn however didn’t stop, instead, the light grew brighter. In a blinding flash she found herself not standing in her Boutique anymore. Once her vision cleared from the blinding flash of light. She found herself standing within a few feet of Spike. Spike had a bewildered look on his face. He’d been out walking the streets of Ponyville when Rarity just appeared out of nowhere. “Um…Rarity? How did you…” His now deeper voice reached her ears. “I um…don’t…know.” Rarity could barely get any words out without stuttering. She glanced down and noticed the fire heart ruby around her neck. “Excuse me.” She said and ran off back to Carousel Boutique, opening her door she threw herself behind it and closed it. Her heart was pounding in her chest. What in Equestria was that about? Spike saw me… She noticed her horn starting to glow again. “Oh no…not again-” *** Spike was back at Friendship Castle, and he’d told Princess Twilight about the odd events of earlier. It happened only once, but the look on Rarity's face had him worried. “I’ll admit Spike that is strange. I could feel something strange going on.” She pulled some of her magic books off the shelf, particularly the ones on odd and unusual magic. “And this only happened once-” “Uh…Twi, make that twice.” Spike turned around when a flash of light enveloped the large room. The light faded revealing Rarity standing in the room with them. “Oh my…” Rarity said shaking her mane. “Rarity?” She glanced up when she heard two familiar voices. Her jaw dropped open when she spotted Spike again. “Um…what’s going on with your magic? Spike said you appeared near him earlier and just now.” I’d felt her teleport just now. Our bond of friendship links all of us. “A unicorn can’t teleport around?” Twilight noticed a sight pink in Rarity’s cheek, she was avoiding making eye contact with Spike and she had on the fire heart ruby. “Rarity I want to help you figure this out.” Spike was waiting on Rarity to just bolt out the door, but he had a feeling she’d reappear again. This was becoming a pattern. “When did this all start?” Even if I have Twilight take me another area so I can speak in private, the second I think about Spike… “Two weeks ago, far as I can tell.” Rarity said. Twilight lifted her head up. “The time of Spike’s last molt?” “Yes, darling, today I’d put on the fire heart ruby Spike gave me. Then my magic…” Heat rushed to Rarity’s cheeks for what she was about to say. “I was thinking about him…” Spike had been standing there when he heard that and his jaw about dropped. “You teleported because of me?” He heard his own words, but it sounded strange. “Can I ask you to try something?” Twilight asked. Rarity glanced over at Spike then back to Twilight. “You had that fire heart ruby on both times, right?” When Rarity nodded, she went on. “Remove it and I’ll take you to another part of the Castle.” “To see if I’ll end up near Spike again?” “Yup,” Twilight replied with a smile as Rarity took off the necklace and Twilight took it in her alicorn magic. Twilight used her alicorn magic to take Rarity to another room leaving Spike standing there alone. “Now I can ask you something?” Twilight asked. “Pardon?” Rarity tilted her head. “I could see how you were when you teleported in and caught sight of Spike, you normally don’t walk around with this necklace. He’s grown up and you’re noticing him differently now. Am I right?” Rarity nodded her purple mane bouncing along. “A favor darling-” Rarity whispered something into Twilight's ear before she left. That had Twilight grinning. “I won’t say anything,” Twilight replied and teleported them back to where Spike was at. “Well as long she doesn’t wear that necklace she won’t teleport, apparently her magic is getting stronger.” “Thank you, Twilight, I feel so much better.” She said and turned to Spike. Her sapphire eyes locked on his emerald, gaze, she smiled, then walk out of the castle. *** Spike woke up when a sudden flash of light came from above him. A white unicorn materialized above his bed. Her purple mane flowed out around her. "Spike?" The shock of seeing him and falling on top of him took her breath away. After she found her voice, she spoke. "Hello, Spike." Her mane spilled out over Spike's now larger body. "Hello...another teleportation?" Spike was expecting her to bolt out of his room. He kept his arms at his side. "This is unexpected." "No, I planned this. I asked Twilight to help control this one." Spike felt his heart skip a beat at what Rarity just revealed. "Apparently my magic was telling my heart where I should be and why I've been teleporting at random.” "So, it's why I've been seeing you everywhere?" Spike asked. "Yes, Crazy huh? You grew up and my magic started acting up." "Well, I'm not objecting to this." He wanted to lift his arms up to her. "If I hold you, are you going to teleport away?" "I hope not." Rarity said smiling and added. "I'd rather stay where I am right now."
