//------------------------------// // Episode 12: Execution! Five Ultra Students // Story: Ultraman Scorn Season 1 // by SuperSamYoshi //------------------------------// Did you two have a good day? I did, but S didn't. Oh. What happened? He was bullied. Aww, come here dear. On a gloomy day, a boy by the codename of Thunderlane was out doing his side job as a paper boy. He would be a good day, if his little brother, Rumble wasn’t following him. “Big Brother! I want a toy car!” called Rumble as he chased after his brother, “Let me help you carry things! Brother!” “You’re being so annoying,” Thunderlane said as he stopped, “go home!” “But…” was all Rumble could say. “You can’t help me,” Thunderlane said as he stood his bike up and took some papers from the basket on the front. Rumble, still wanting to help, took a newspaper from the bag on the back of the bike and was about to put through a letter box, when Thunderlane caught him in the act. “Rumble!” he called out to him, “wrong house.” “Oops,” Rumble said innocently, he pulled out the newspaper, just as a giant shadow cast overhead. Rumble looked up and saw the translucent body of a monster. But it wasn’t just a monster, it was a Choju. “Brother!” Rumble called out to him. Thunderlane looked up and saw the Choju too. “Choju!” he exclaimed, “I should call.” And he ran off. “Brother wait!” called Rumble as he chased after him, “wait!” Thunderlane ran into a phone box and was just about to put in the number for CASS, but the Choju roared and then from one of it’s arms, shot out a grabbling hook toward the phone box. It wrapped out the phone box and brought it onto the ground with Thunderlane and Rumble inside it. “Rumble, hurry and run,” Thunderlane said, Hurry, Run!” “What about you?” Rumble shouted, as he crawled out the broken window. “Hurry and get police idiot,” Thunderlane told him, just as Rumble climbed out, the Choju threw the phone box up into the air and slammed it back on the ground with Thunderlane still inside. “Brother!” Rumble called out, as the Choju vanished completely. Rumble watch the Choju vanish, and then ran to his brother, who was bleeding from his forehead. Rumble tried to shake him awake, but Thunderlane wouldn’t wake up. An ambulance came and took Thunderlane’s body to the hospital. Police had also showed up and Rumble was telling them what happened. But the police didn’t seem to believe him. “And then?” Asked one police officer to Rumble. “It’s true,” Rumble exclaimed, “it was a Choju. Its long arm lifted the phone booth and smashed it into the ground.” “Boy,” said the police officer getting annoyed that he wasn’t getting a straight answer, “you’ve said it many times now.” “But I really saw it,” said Rumble, “I’m not lying!” At that moment, Sunrise and Sunset drove pass in Earth Pony car. “Ah it’s CASS,” Rumble yelled as he ran to Sunset’s window “I… really saw a Choju!” “Choju?!” Sunrise exclaimed, pushing Sunset back. He could still remember the day he had to fight Aribunta and almost died. Sunrise and Sunset got out the vehicle, “What happened here?” “The phone booth tumbled,” said one policeman, “His brother wasn’t killed but was greatly injured.” Sunrise went to the destroyed phone booth. “NO!” exclaimed Rumble as he ran up to Sunrise, “a Choju did this! In order to save me, my brother let himself get in harm’s way. It’s true! Believe me!” “He said it’s the Choju,” said the police officer, “but there were no other witnesses or evidence, kids are good at dreaming these days. Grubber take the kid away,” the police officer said to her partner. “Right Tempest,” Grubber said as he grabbed a hold of Rumble, “Ok boy let’s go.” “Hey believe me! Please CASS!” Rumble called to Sunrise and Sunset. “It’s not such a serious case,” Tempest said to Sunset and Sunrise, “thank you for your time. It’s not something that CASS should worry about.” “But what if it really is a Choju?” Sunrise asked. “No, no, my younger brother’s the same,” Tempest responded, “they can’t differentiate between fact and fiction. Please return to your work.” That morning, the special radar beam at the CASS base detected something mysterious. “This is the Golgotha Star?” asked Commander Celestia. “What a bad omen,” Vice-Commander Luna said. “Golgotha?” Celestia questioned, “I’ve heard this name somewhere.” “It’s the place where Jesus was crucified,” Lyra said, “that’s Golgotha right?” She looked to Bon-Bon for confirmation. “Yes that’s the one,” Bon-Bon assured her. “Golgotha is located in Anti-Space,” Microchips said, “meaning, it’s in an opposite universe from ours.” “I see,” Flash remarked, “so it’s invisible to us.” “What is this really?” Derpy thought out loud, “This star…” Back at the Earth Pony, Sunrise and Sunset were still on petrol when Sunrise’s Ultra gauntlet’s shone, Sunrise stopped the car suddenly. “What’s wrong?” Sunset looked at him concerned. “I got to go,” Sunrise said. “I thought you went before you left HQ,” Sunset remarked. “I don’t need the bathroom,” Sunrise told her. “Ok, I’ll let Commander Celestia know that you have some ‘Ultra’ business to take care of,” she said Ultra with a wink. Sunrise just looks at her, “how do you…” Sunrise asked but was cut off. “You seem to disappear when Ultraman Scorn comes in,” Sunset remarked as Sunrise’s ultra-Gauntlets shined again, “now go quick.” Sunrise nodded, as he ran out the car. He looked up into the sky and saw an Ultra sign, it said, ‘gather at the Golgotha Star!’ “It’s a call from Saber,” Sunrise said to himself, “something must have happened on Golgotha. This might be big trouble.” Sunrise activated his Ultra-Gauntlets and entering the starry nexus. In a blinding flash, up rose Ultraman Scorn in his Specium Photon form. Ultraman Scorn flew at the speed of light into the Anti-Space. He flew through a rift which made him feel like he was on drugs. Once he emerge from the other side, he looked to his right and saw four other flashes of light, it was four of his Ultra friends from the Land of Light. Ultrawoman Cougar, Ultraman Ox, Ultraman Troopa and Ultrawoman Jill. Scorn joined his friends as they flew together and landed on the star. Pulling fighting poses ready to fight. They looked around, but they didn’t see any monsters, aliens or Chojus. They were all very confused. “Scorn, dude,” called Troopa, “what’s the matter?” “I saw the Ultra-Sign,” Scorn replied. “I was called by Scorn,” remark Jill. “I was called by Saber,” responded Scorn, “What for?” “So if it wasn’t you,” Troopa thought out loud. “Then, who called us?” Cougar remarked, turning to Ox and Jill. The five ultras decided to look around the star. They walked for a bit and saw something through some mist, as it cleared, they saw five crucifixes. Ox was the first to walk towards them, he walked up some rocky steps, and stood in front of one of the crucifixes. He looked up to see his name at the top of the crucifix. “This is my grave!” he called to the others, “it has my name on it!” “Don’t be ridiculous!” called Scorn, as the other four Ultras came towards the crucifixes and they all stood in front of a crucifix, “this is my cross!” “This is mine!” Cougar declared. “This one has my name,” exclaimed Jill. “Same with this one and my name,” chimed in Troopa. Suddenly a bright blue light started to flash behind them, the all turned and posed to fight. Somewhere, in her Realm of Shadows, the Cloaked Figure smiled to herself. “Cover Choju Baraba with the radioactive rain that the humans have made!” Lightning fired down on to the ground, as the Choju Baraba reappeared and roared out loud, as it poured down with rain. People in cars screamed as the Choju fired it’s grabbling hook from it’s mace arm, it hooked onto the cars, and through them into the air, killing whoever was in them as they exploded on the ground. Baraba roared out like it was enjoying its rampage. It threw it’s grabbling hook again at a building, it went stretch through it and destroyed it. Baraba swung the grabbling hook around and smacked down a telegraph poll. It then started to breath fire out its nose. “Rainbooms, get set! Commander Celestia told them. “Right,” the Rainbooms reported. “Get Sunrise and Sunset on the scene,” Commander Celestia told Lyra and Bon-Bon. “Yes,” they said, and went to the control panel. “Rainbow, AJ, Fluttershy, take the Pegasus with Luna,” Commander Celestia ordered, “Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie take the Griffin with me.” “Yes,” they replied. “This is HQ,” called Lyra through the mic. “Sunset, Sunrise come in,” Bon-Bon tried, “this is HQ! Earth Pony come in!” “Nothing?” Commander Celestia asked. “Just got a word from Sunset,” Lyra replied. “Tell her to wait until backup arrives,” Celestia told them. “Yes,” the two replied. “Let’s go,” Celestia ordered the Rainbooms. “Yes,” they replied. Celestia, Twilight, Rarity and Pinkie climbed into the Griffin while Luna, with Rainbow, Fluttershy and Applejack got into the Pegasus, and they both set off. Sunset had contacted Celestia earlier about Sunrise needing to take care of some Ultra business. Some blue lightning came from the earth and to the Golgotha Star, alerting the Ultras that a Choju had appeared on Earth. “Scorn, there’s a Choju on earth!” exclaimed Troopa. “This is bad!” Cougar remarked. “They targeted Earth while Scorn was away!” commented Jill. “Who is doing this?” Ox asked. “And why call us all here?” Cougar questioned. “I don’t know,” Troopa answered, “but Scorn you must hurry back Earth!” “Ok,” Scorn replied, he was about to fire back when more bright lights started flashing again. The Ultras looked around in confusions as a cloud of smoke fell down onto them. Around them, the rocks and puddles froze over, this smoke was a freezing mist, that was weakening the Ultras. “Look!” said the Cloaked Figure from her Realm of Shadows, “The Ultra Students’ weakness is the cold! Freezing the equipment on the cross will lower the temperature to -273C! This is the end of the Ultra Students!” More lightning crashed onto Baraba, empowering it. The monster roared as the Cloaked Figure’s voice spoke to it. “Destroy! Destroy!” the Cloaked Figure cackled, “under the protection of the Radioactive Rain, the Choju Baraba can’t be defeated!” Baraba slammed it’s axe arm down onto a building, destroying it into nothing to rubble. The Griffin and Pegasus flew into view and started to fire at the Choju. But they didn’t almost nothing to damage to Choju, and they simply bounced off Baraba. The Choju swiped his arms at the jets, but they just avoided them. Sunset wasn’t have much success on the ground, her bullets from her Alpha Pistol where just as useless at the bullets from the jets. “Sister, the bullets rebounded!” exclaimed Vice-Commander Luna. “Damn it!” Rainbow remarked. “Sister, use the missiles!” Commander Celestia told her. “Right,” Luna replied. She then pressed buttons on her control panel and fired some missiles at the Choju. But even the missile rebounded off the Choju’s body. “Even the missiles do nothing to the Choju!” Twilight said. “Damn,” Celestia muttered. “This is HQ,” Lyra tried to call Sunrise, “Sunrise come in!” but still nothing. “Strange,” Bon-Bon commented, “where did he go?” Where he was, was freezing on Golgotha with his comrades. His Ultra-senses could sense that the Canterlot City was in danger. “The earth,” Scorn said, “Canterlot City’s in danger.” “Scorn, hurry and go!” Troopa told him. “It’s no use,” Scorn responded, “if I return to Earth, I will have used up all my energy. My light and energy will all be gone!” “We will give you our energy,” Jill told him. “No, you can’t!” Scorn retorted, “if you do that… you will all die!” “Scorn!” Cougar spoke placing a freezing hand on his shoulder, “your mission is to protect the Earth. Go Scorn.” “I won’t,” Scorn countered. “Idiot!” Ox exclaimed as he smacked Scorn around the face, “Listen Scorn, at this rate, all five of the Ultra Students will die here.” “But Scorn…” Cougar spoke up in a more calmer voice, “You’re too young to sacrifice yourself here.” “I’m like a few thousand years younger than all of you,” Scorn replied. “You should go, Scorn!” Cougar said before giving him a hug, “only you can do it, in place of your friends!” Scorn lowered his head, as Jill came closer, “Scorn, do you understand what we’re saying?” she asked him. “Yes!” Scorn nodded. “We’re counting on you,” Cougar said, “Scorn.” Scorn just nodded slowly. “We’ll use the Ultra Charge to transfer our energy to you!” Cougar stood in front of Scorn, Troopa behind and Jill and Ox on either side. They raised their arms and formed a sort of square around Scorn. Energy spiralled around them and pulsated into Scorn. Once he had enough energy, Scorn flew back to earth. Jill, Troopa, Ox and Cougar, now low on energy, stumbled backwards to their respected crucifix and where chained to them, around their wrists, ankles, and necks. Scorn out of Anti-Space and back to earth, “Comrades…” he thought, and he flew back down to Canterlot city. The storm was getting so bad it was hard to see what Baraba was doing, but from the sounds of destruction, it was still rampaging. Sunset, Flash, and some of the others left at HQ where helping people get safely underground in bunkers or subway. Baraba roared and stomped down and destroyed another building. The police even helped people get to safety. The Griffin and Pegasus flew in front of the Choju to distract it. “Use the Ultra Laser!” Commander Celestia ordered. “What if the Laser isn’t effective…” questioned Rarity, but Celestia ignored her. “Sister, use the Laser!” she told her sister over the radio. “Yes sister,” Luna replied. “Aim for the head!” Celestia told her. They fired the lasers at Baraba’s head causing an explosion. It’s unclear if that hurt the Choju, but it did annoy it enough to chase the pegasus. The Pegasus turned around, but flew too close to Baraba, and the Choju wrapped its grabbling hook around the Pegasus. “Eject!” cried Celestia, and she, Twilight, Rarity, and Pinkie ejected from the jet. “We’ll get revenge for you sister!” Luna declared. As she started to fire her lasers. Down of the ground, Celestia, Twilight, Rarity, and Pinkie unstrapped themselves from their parashoots and started to fire at the Choju. Elsewhere, the Earth Pony driven by Sunrise, was heading toward the danger. The Pegasus continued to fire at Baraba, but the Choju still seemed unfazed. It swiped at the bullets and tried to swat the Griffin out the sky. The Griffin turned around to fire at the Choju again, but Baraba fired its grabbling hook at the jet and struck it. “This damn Choju!” yelled Rainbow as the Griffin came crashing to the ground, “I’ll remember this!” “Eject!” cried Vice-Commander Luna, and, she Rainbow, AJ and Fluttershy ejected from the jet. “Damn it,” remarked Applejack as the four floated down to the ground. As the slowly floated down, Fluttershy spotted something. “Hey, it’s the Earth Pony,” she said. She was right, the Earth Pony was tearing down the road at a great speed. Sunrise stopped the car and looked up at his falling friends. Celestia and the others on the ground shot at the Choju to keep it back, but they bullets did nothing to give the Choju a mark. Once the others where on the ground, and they were taking off their parashoots, Baraba breathed fire onto them. Sunrise quickly got the Earth Pony around to them. “Vice-Commander, hurry!” he shouted. The three girls piled in the back while Luna got in the front. “Nice timing, nephew,” Luna remarked, as Sunrise stepped on the gas. Another lightning bolt struck Baraba as Sunrise drove near the Choju. Sunrise quickly turned to the left, but somehow, Baraba was right behind the next building. The three girls in the back panicked as Sunrise to a sharp right, just as Baraba missed hitting them with its grabbling hook. The grabbling hook seemed to follow them down the roar, Sunrise took another sharp turn and he lost it. He stopped the car and everyone one got out. Sunrise then saw a kid running towards the Choju, it was Rumble. “It’s Rumble from this morning,” Sunrise said. While Luna, and the other three where distracted with the Choju, Sunrise ran after Rumble. Rumble wanted revenge for what Baraba did to his brother. “Stupid Choju,” he said as he pulled back his slingshot and fired a rock at Baraba. Either Baraba felt the rock, or heard Rumble, it turned around in his direction and saw him. Baraba roared which scared Rumble into hiding. But Baraba launched its grabbling hook at a tower, making it crumble and rubble fell to the ground. Sunrise came just in time as he picked up Rumble and carried him away from the falling derby. “What are you doing here?!” Sunrise asked him, “Let CASS handle the Choju.” “I want revenge for Thunderlane!” Rumble replied, “it hurt my brother!” “Is that true?” Sunrise asked him. “It’s true,” rumble told him, “I never lie.” “Ok,” Sunrise replied, “I’ll get revenge for your brother.” “Thank you,” Rumble said. Baraba roared out in fury as the storm grew worse. “Rumble, run that way,” Sunrise told him. “But…” Rumble wanted to retort but Sunrise cut him off. “Believe in me,” Sunrise said to him. Rumble nodded and ran off. Once he was gone, Sunrise enter the starry nexus and activated his Ultra Gauntlets. He quickly pull out his Ultra coins and placed them in the slots. “Lend me your power, Ultraman!” {ULTRAMAN} “Lend me the will of the earth, Gaia!” {ULTRAMAN GAIA} “I shall bring peace and harmony to the universe!!” {RISE ULTRAMAN SCORN SPECIUM PHOTON!} Ultraman Scorn landed near Baraba and punched it in the back. Baraba roared and turned to face the Ultra and the two began to wrestle. Scorn chopped at Baraba’s neck, making the Choju stumble back and as Baraba came forward for an attack, Scorn kicked it in the chest. Baraba roared and slashed its axe arm down, but Scorn hopped back to avoid it. Baraba tried to slash Scorn again, but the Ultra kept moving back. Scorn caught Baraba’s arms and held them up and then kneed it in the stomach twice, before trying to get the monster into a headlock, and then slamming it into the ground. Baraba rolled and them got back to its feet like nothing and fired its grabbling hook at Scorn. Scorn dodged and the grabbling smashed into a building behind Scorn. Scorn tried to tackle Baraba from the side, but Baraba ducked, and Scorn tripped over him and into a building, causing it to crumble to the ground like a prop on a movie set. From her Realm of Shadows, the Cloaked Figure was watching the fight. “You’re protected by the Radioactive Rain!” She cackled insanely, “Fight Baraba, my baby!” As Scorn stood up, Baraba fired its grabbling hook at him, and it wrapped around Scorn and hooked onto itself. Scorn couldn’t move and Baraba brought the Ultra closer. “Go, Scorn!” called Rumble from afar. Scorn broke free and rushed forward and grabbed Baraba by its axe arm. Scorn spun the Choju around and then through it into a building, destroying it in the process. Baraba struggled to get up, as it closed its eyes. “He did it!” cried Celestia. Scorn panted heavily, he was tired. He walked closer to Baraba, to deal with the body, but Baraba’s eyes suddenly shot open, and the Choju arose like a vampire and its sword on its head started to flash. The flashes paralyzed and blinded Scorn, as Baraba launched the sword from its head towards Scorn managed to dodge it and catch on its many back to its owner. Baraba then started to act afraid as Scorn used it to attack the Choju, Baraba blocked it with its axe, then swung the axe down. Scorn dodged the axe and then blocked another swing from it with the sword. The Ultra and Choju tussled a bit, then Scorn jumped back with the sword up and ready to slash. “Ok,” Celestia said to her team, “we’re attack the Choju too!” “Right!” they agreed. Scorn was ready to kill Baraba with its own sword, but then some flashing lights interrupted him. “Stop Ultraman Scorn,” spoke out the Cloaked Figure’s voice, “look at this!” A window to the Golgotha Star opened in the sky, and Scorn saw what have happened to Jill, Ox, Cougar and Troopa. “It’s over. Scorn lost! If you kill Baraba… you will have forfeited these four Ultra Students’ lives! Their lives are in my hands!” Baraba roared out and launched its grabbling hook again, but Scorn defected it with the sword. “Scorn, you don’t care about your close friends?” the Cloaked Figure’s voice mocked. Baraba launched its grabbling hook around Scorn’s neck and went to strike with the axe. but Scorn blocked it with the sword. Scorn got free and stepped back from the Choju before readying the sword for another attack. “Scorn,” the mocking voice of the Cloaked Figure spoke again, “watch yourself.” Scorn was now getting afraid to attack. “How could they!” Pinkie declared, “what a disgusting plot.” Baraba smacked his sword of Scorn’s hand and then slashed at his arm. Scorn grasped it in pain. “So, have you made up your mind?” the Cloaked Figure spoke again, “you can’t stop me!” The sword came falling back down, as everyone looked away thinking the sword was going to slice him. Scorn spread out his arms and the sword stopped right into front of him. The sword flashed and disappeared, as Scorn’s body was covered into rainbow lights, and disappear as well. “Scorn lost,” cried Rumble. Baraba roared in victory as everyone gasped in horror and shock that their hero was gone. “It’s Ultraman Scorn’s end,” the Cloaked Figure chuckled as Baraba started its rampage again. Stomping on buildings and destroying them with its grabbling hook, “Ultraman Scorn is dead. Therefore its up to CASS to defeat Baraba!” “Go all out and show them CASS’s power!” Commander Celestia told her team, “Got it?” “Yes!” they all replied. “Where Sunrise?” Celestia asked, everyone looked around they didn’t know. Celestia knew he was Scorn, but she had to pretend she didn’t know. Where Sunrise was, was laying passed out on the ground, amongst rubble. Ultraman Scorn is down! Also, four Ultra students were crucified. The Earth… Our world… Can Sunrise stand again to save them? Sup Bro, I am the one, the only Flash Sentry, and I'm here to bring you this instalment of Wondercolt Monster Library. Today we will be looking at, the Choju in this Episode, Baraba. Baraba, Alternately known as Varava, the Hitman Terrible-Monster. He stands at 75 meters tall and weighs at 85,000 tonnes. its home is Yapool's Alternate Dimension. Baraba was named for the thief Barabbas from the Holy Bible, that was to be crucified but was replaced with Jesus Christ. Baraba's death by its own sword is a reference to the words of Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew, "Live by the sword, die by the sword". Interestingly, in the Ultraman Ace manga by Mitsuhoshi Akihito, Baraba replaces Ace Killer entirely, even being referred to as such, with Ace Killer himself being absent. This is the first time that I've been defeated by a monster, I'm not counting Aribunta as I didn't return to human form afterwards, but I am worried about my comrades. Oh is that time up already, shoot. Well it's the end of this instalment of Wondercolt Monster Library. We hope you'll join us next time. Until then... Goodbye everyone. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya.
