//------------------------------// // Dessert // Story: Nibble Nibble Nom Nom // by Comrade Bagel Muffin //------------------------------// "Commandew Teddyeeeeee Beaw, we have bad news," the little midnight black bat pony colt said sitting in front of a teddy bear wearing a general's cap. "Mommy and Daddy have said, that it is to late fow us to get the sweety mango pie, and that we can't have it until dessert for lunch tomorrow. This is not good. It's like tomorrow and houws away. And I want it now. I was a good bat Commandew Teddyeeeeeee Beaw. I should should get pie. I even ate all the nasty gween peas. This Outwage can't stand. So you mission Mistew Teddyeeeeeeeeeeee Beaw is to go down staiws and get the pie." He put both of his forehooves on the bed and tapped the teddy bear with his nose. It fell backwards. Flieder picked up the teddy bear and sat it back up. "But captain Fliedew, I's can't do that dere awre monstews down dere, and without the daylights we'd be all eaten up." "You wight commandew Teddyeeeeee beaw." Flieder nodded. "Is a scawwy mission." He tapped his chin as he thought of a solution on how best to get to the denied mango pie, and avoid all the scary monsters that hid in the dark. "We could use the flash light to scawe the monstews away, but we'd have to do that down staiws owr mommy and daddy will knows we doing something." He seemed a little concerned. "I can't send you down the scawy wall alone commandew Teddeeeeeeey Beaw. So I too will come with you." He starts moving the teddy bear's arms around. "But captain Fliedew, the monstews awre out dere. Awren't you scawed siwr?" "I am but I'm a big bwave bat so I will help you get to the mango pie Comandew Tedeeeeeeeeey Beaw, and I will get you a piece too." He answered happy to know that his teddy bear was concerned for his safety. He picked his commander up and set them on his back, in a practiced maneuver called pony ride. He poked his head out his door, the hall was clear, lit by several nightlights. Mommy and daddy had put them there so he wouldn't be afraid to go to the potty in the middle of the night. Now they would be used to aid him in his desperate mission to right this most terrible wrong. Flieder bolted down the hall from the safety of his room to the only relative safety of the hallway light. Flieder looked around before bolting quickly and as quietly as possible to the next one. He would continue this until he got to the top of the staircase. He gulped looking down the stairs into the pitch black where the monsters lurked, a darkness so consuming that not even with his night vision could he hope to see through it. "Wight comandew, I pwease keep an eye on my back we can't tunw on the light until we get to the base of the staiws." He took a deep breath and quickly started going down the stairs on his tippy hooves. He tried not to think about it with his eyes tightly closed, see not monsters there are no monsters. He stifled a squeak as he stepped on the really noisy step at the bottom of the staircase. His ears perked up, as he desperately struggled to get the flash light on. There was a tapping at the window his squeezed his eyes closed horrified at the monster trying to get in through the living room window. With a click the flashlight came on, and he pointed it at the window. He opened his eyes, and breathed a sigh of relief. the tapping at the window was just a tree branch. "Wight the mango pie is in the kitchen," he said around the flash light in his mouth. he moved his head side to side lighting up the living room as he quickly and quietly moved to the the kitchen and the pie that had been promised to him for dessert nearly two hours ago. He smiled when he heard the clipity clop of his hooves on the kitchen's tile. The sound signified that he almost had the pie he so rightfully deserved. "Okay Commandew Tedeeeeeey Beaw, you keep an eye out I'm going to twy and get the tasty pie, fow you sewvice I will get you a tasty piece of the mango pie too." He put his teddy bear on the ground and gave them the flash light. and pointed it at the living room. There was enough light from the microwave clock to see by. He got to the counter were he knew the pie was all that he had to do was get up there and the dessert was his. He jumped, and quickly noticed a problem he only got to about half the counter's height. If he didn't have to worry about noise he would just scoot a chair in from the dinning room, he would get it there eventually, but it would make far to much noise, and he would get caught. In order to do this quietly he would have to fly. He stretched his wings like mommy and daddy had taught him and flapped once or twice, then crouching down he jumped flapping his wings he barely reached the counters edge he'd done. He had hold of the pie tin. Then, he slipped. The pie flipped in the air as he fell backwards landing hard on his rump it felt like the house gave him a hard spanking. The pie hit the floor with a bang from the pie tin as it rolled around and started spinning to a stop in a loud crescendo. He could hear mommy and daddy rushing down stairs; he knew he was in trouble as the pie lay ruined smeared across the kitchen floor, so he did the first thing that came to mind, and started crying. The living room light was turned on quickly followed by the kitchen light. Mommy and daddy looked at the mess on the floor and then at him. "Flieder are you okay sweet heart?" "What are you doing up this late it's 10 AM, three hours past your bedtime." "I did wa-what you said and ate all the nasty g-g-gween peas, but didn't get a-a-any mango pie. S-s-s-so Commandew Tedeeeeey b-beaw said we should get some s-since we clean the plate. And, and-and so I did and then I fell and now thewes no more mango pie!" He cried as mommy looked him over to make sure that he wasn't hurt. "And now now you'we going to spank me and say say say I-I'I'm a b-b-b-bad bat but I'm not!" "Flieder," daddy said. "It was to late to get you pie then it was already an hour past your bedtime." He got down and nuzzled his son. "Your not a bad bat are you hurt." Flieder shook his head side to side. "Here you go Flieder." Mommy scooped up just a bit of pie that wasn't touching the floor. "Say ahh." Flieder tried to calm down and after a couple of attempts was able to get his mouth open long enough for mommy to give him a hoofful of the delicious pie, he was still up set but with something so tasty it was hard to be sad. "Tell you what Flieder if you go to bed, we'll get another pie and have it right after breakfast okay?" "O-okay." Mommy and daddy gave him a kiss and sent him up to his room with Commander Teddy Bear, while they cleaned up the knocked over pie. Flieder was sound asleep by the time they got back up there, his mission to get the pie and the lateness being more than enough to tire him out.
