I walked towards what appeared to be the town hall if I had to guess as I got there was a receptionist
"Name," He asked
"Lucina Dawn" I responded already accustomed to saying it
"You not listed as a citizen of ponyville, are you planning to move or just stay here for a while" He Questioned me
"Moving I wanted to move somewhere secluded from all the big cities but close enough to canterlot so I could visit my friends up there," I told him lying about 'friends' in canterlot but had to add another reason other than secluded since there were loads of other towns that would have been suitable if that was the case
"Ok all you have to do to become an official citizen of ponyville is fill out this form and also do some labour work for one of the following industries," he told me as he handed me the form which I filled in quickly until I got to the bottom which showed what industrie I had picked they were three of them farming, baking and modelling usually I would have gone for modelling but I hated standing still for hours on end so, in the end, I picked farming
After I handed him the form he gave me a sort of 'ticket of labour' which needed a signature "Ok just take this to one of the members at sweet apple acres and they will give you some labour work to do" he said as I went for the door
5 minutes later
I found myself outside a massive orchard as I entered orange coated mare struck a tree and all the apples came falling off she also had three apples for a cutie mark which probably meant she was one of the apples
"Hello are you one of the apples," I asked her without her knowing I was there she jumped back and almost bucked me in the face good thing I had good reflexes or I would have lost a tooth or 2
"Oh sorry you'll, you just frightened me is all," She said as she said apologetically while setting her hat straight
"It's okay I should probably try to sneak up on people less, "I said with a bit of sarcasm in
"Yeah you probably should, anyway I'm applejack nice to meet you..." she said questioningly while holding a hoof out which confused me until I remembered that she didn't know my name
"Lucina dawn, nice to meet you applejack," I said as I went to shake her hoof when she started shaking however she was almost making them go up and down quite fast
"So what can I do you for," She asked
"Well I recently decided to move to ponyville and I have to do labour work so I picked Farming and the receptionist said I should come here and give this to you," I said as I handed her my ticket of labour
"Sure I could use some help with some crates of apples but no magic please, us apples like to do it the old fashion way," She said as she led me to a farm which had about 4 carte and 8 bunches of apples
"Ok all I want today is for you to put 2 bunches of apples in each crate ok," She asked me
"Yeah I can do that" I responded calmly and objectively
"Now since I only just met you my brother big mac will be watching you make sure you don't use magic, ok, "She said as a massive stallion came out from behind one of the doors I just nodded in response"okay ill come check on you in an hour, "Applejack said before she left and the only thought I had was is it that easy to get a job and to make friends here
Unfortunately for me, I was going to regret the job part in about an hour
1 hour later
I had filled all 4 crates finally but they weren't kidding when they said that having to do work for a living would be hard Big mac had been silent almost the entire way through, and thats when I heard hoofs "I see you are all done with the crates, that's all you got to do today since it's your first day" She said as she handed me 40 bits or so
"Thanks, I have a question applejack can I work here even after my ticket of labour expires," I asked exhausted, even though I might not like it I need a job and if I can keep this one I wouldn't have to look around for one
"If you continue to do well for the rest of the ticket labour period sure I could give you a permanent job here after it's over oh and call me Jackie all my friends do," Jackie said to me happily
"Ok well in that case you can call me Luci," I told her before I said goodbye and made my way into town once more to see what this little community had to offer especially since I had already made 2 friends superfast
