Will you be my special somepony?

Her special somepony

Written by KingSombraTheTyrantRuler

Today was Hearts and Hooves day, a day on which everypony in Equestria showed how much they loved their coltfriend, marefriend, or the love of their life.

On this day, Fluttershy stayed in her cottage, sad that she didn't have a special somepony. All her friends had special someponies; Twilight had Flash Sentry, Rainbow Dash had Soarin, Pinkie Pie had Cheese Sandwich, Rarity had Spike, and Apple Jack had... well she never said who it was.

The pegasus wished that she had a special somepony, but she was too shy to ask the one pony that she liked. If only I weren't so shy... she thought.

Sombra had been living with her for almost two years now, and she would be lying if she said that she didn't have any romantic feelings for him. She had kept those feelings to herself for a long time, and each time she saw him, she felt like telling him, but never did for fear of rejection.

Does he have the same feelings for me that I have for him? wondered Fluttershy as she gave Angel his carrots.

Just for her, he had gone from being cruel and merciless to kind and caring. He always helped the mare, offering to do her shopping for her when she was too busy, keeping her company on Nightmare Night, and forcing her to rest when it was clear that she was exhausted. Sometimes, he even had to tie her to the bed to make her rest.

Fluttershy blushed at the memory, and then flew up to feed the birds.

He was good looking, and was everything that any mare would ever desire. Just then, the pony of her thoughts entered the cottage, trying to make as less sound as possible. Even though he was being as quiet as possible, Fluttershy still heard him.

Sombra looked as if he were trying to hide something, and her suspicions were confirmed when she saw him try to sneak up the stairs, blending in with the shadows.

A few minutes later, he came back down, acting as if he hadn't been sneaking around. Smiling, he said, "Fluttershy! How about you have a rest?" He climbed up a ladder and took the bowl of bird feed from her hooves. "Let me do that for you."

"Um...ok," Fluttershy said, letting him finish feeding the animals. She walked up to her room and laid on her bed. Before going to sleep, she thought, Maybe he has a surprise for me.

After making sure that Fluttershy had fallen asleep, Sombra went up the stairs and got the box he had been hiding earlier. Opening it, he started decorating the living room with flowers and hearts.

Once he had finished decorating, he went to the kitchen to make a nice dinner. He had learnt a few things about cooking, and decided to test his cooking skills.

"So...what should I make?" Sombra asked the kitchen, which was devoid of any ponies apart from himself. "Fluttershy loves to eat blueberry pies, right?" Just to make sure, he checked the notebook which was in his hooves. "Yeah, she does. So to make a blueberry pie, I'll need..." Turning to another page, he read, "Pie crust, blueberries, lemon zest, lemon juice, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and an egg."

He gathered those ingredients, and read what to do next. "

  1. Pre-make your pie crust and let it refrigerate 1 hour in the refrigerator before using. Roll the first crust into a 13" circle and transfer to a 9" wide pie pan.
  2. Roll the second crust into a 12" circle and use a pizza cutter to slice into ten 1-inch strips.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine 6 cups blueberries, 1 teaspoon lemon zest, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 4 1/2 tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and toss to combine. Transfer the blueberries into the dough-lined pie pan, mounding it just slightly in the center and keeping the edges clean of blueberry juice.
  4. Using the 10 strips of dough, create a lattice crust over the top (see photo tutorial on natashaskitchen.com), pinch the edges to seal and crimp edges if desired.
  5. Beat together 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the egg wash over the lattice crust and edges. Bake in the center of the oven at 375˚F for 50-60 minutes, or until crust is golden and blueberry juice is bubbling at the edges."

Sombra did exactly that, and waited for the pie to finish baking.

An hour later, he took it out of the oven, making sure that he had oven gloves on so that he wouldn't burn himself like last time. He shuddered at the memory of when he didn't use oven gloves. His hooves had been burnt badly, and took a few weeks to recover.

Putting the pie on the living room's table, Sombra walked up the stairs and had a shower so that he would smell fresh. After drying himself, he knocked on Fluttershy's door, after which he opened it and went in. "Fluttershy," he tapped her with his hoof. "Wake up."

A few more taps later, she finally woke up, rubbing her eyes with her hooves. "Have a shower, and wear your best dress," Sombra said.

"Ok," Fluttershy got out of bed to have a shower. While she had a shower, Sombra got himself ready.

Sombra smiled as he looked at himself in the mirror. Now that I'm ready, I'll see if Fluttershy is.

Fluttershy finished braiding her mane, and smiled. I hope that Sombra's doing what I think he is. She heard a knock on the door, and opened it.

Sombra was standing there, with a bunch of roses. "For you, my beautiful mare. I wonder if you would do me the honor of accompanying me to dinner tonight."

Fluttershy blushed, "I would love to!"

Holding hooves, they walked down the stairs, and Sombra put a blindfold on Fluttershy. He guided her to the living room, and then removed the blindfold.

"I know this isn't fancy like in a restaurant or anything..." Sombra started. "But I hope that you like it."

The pegasus gasped. "Oh Sombra, I love it! This is just beautiful!"

Sombra chuckled. "But you're still more beautiful than it."

Sombra pulled a chair out, and after Fluttershy sat on it, he pushed it in. Then he sat down and uncovered the pie. "I made it myself," he smiled.

Fluttershy breathed, and said, "It looks wonderful!"

Once they had finished, Sombra said, "Fluttershy, I've loved you for a long time, but never said anything because I wasn't sure if you loved me back. Will you be my marefriend?"

Fluttershy hugged Sombra and said, "Yes, I will!"

Sombra kissed Fluttershy, and that is how their tale ends.
