They were all terrible. They either ended up with her in a strange place that seemed very impossible, or with her committing a crime she never remembered committing. Either way, an adventure for Derpy was very different from the views of Minuette, who liked calmness and a quiet, normal, night of sleep. Too bad for Minuette, nothing is normal. 3 "Why are you spinning that?" Minuette tried to keep her balance as the room rocked back and forth. "It looks like it needs to be spun." Derpy continued to spin the wheeled device jutting out from the control panel. "How would you know? Have you ever been inside here?" "Nope. But it sure is fun with all the lights and stuff." "Do you not recognize the immediate danger we are in?" "Danger? What danger?" "We could walk out of that door at any place, any time, and you're sitting here spinning that wheel because IT LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS TO BE SPUN!" "Eeyup!" Derpy said, imitating Big Mac. She continued to spin the wheel as Minuette prayed for her life. 7 "See what happens when you tamper with time, Derpy? This is what happens!" "What?" "This!" Minuette motioned around her in a flailing-hooves sort of way. "I don't get it..." "Time is all jumbled now! Events are all messed up. Just like a broken record! Things are going to be messed up and out of order now!" "How does this affect us?" "Now we're going to experience the past twenty-four hours over and over again in a random order each time until we fix this mess." "How does that even work?" "I don't know. I don't even know how I know it. It's probably something that Doctor Whooves told me once about these things." 1 "Ugh. I'm so tired." Minuette bounded into bed and draped the blankets over her body with her horn. She drifted into a peaceful sleep for a couple of hours. She was then woken up by the sound of breaking glass. "Oops," said Derpy after her hoof went through the second-story window. She flew in and landed on the floor with a thud. "Derpy, what are you doing here?" "To invite you on a magical time-traveling adventure!" "Why would I want to do that? Last time I went on an adventure with you I started playing this game called Spurb and then a whole bunch of other crazy stuff happened that would take way too much time to tell." "This is going to be better, because we're going to use Doctor Whooves' special blue box!" "No. Doctor Whooves told us specifically not to use his TARDIS for any reason. Plus, we don't even have a key." "Yes I do!" Derpy held up a small, golden key in her hoof. "Well, I'm not going." "Fine, I'll go by myself." Derpy flapped her gray wings and lept out of the room. "Ugh. I better go to make sure she doesn't mess up time or something." Minuette slowly got out of underneath the covers and left her house to go on another perilous adventure. The TARDIS hit the ground with a thud. The room finally stopped spinning, and Minuette slowly got control of her dinner. "Where are we?" she asked as she stabilized herself after the rocky landing. "No idea. Let's go check!" Derpy bounced over to the door of the spacious room. She slammed head-first into the door and sat her rump on the floor. She sat there for several seconds, staring blankly into space. She then remarked, "I seem to have dug a hole." "What do-" "Clever." "What does that even mean?" 2 Derpy inserted the small key into the blue door. Tumblers activated, and it swung open to reveal an extremely spacious room for its small size. It has a large control panel at the 'core' of the room with several gizmos and gadgets jutting out of it. "This looks like fun!" "Derpy, we should go. Don't touch anything. We should leave." "Why would we leave? Look! This button is glowing!" She slammed her hoof down hard on the green button. The door to the TARDIS slammed shut. Derpy stared in amazement. "Cool! I wonder what this one does!" She pulled a lever. A weird sound emanated from the TARDIS, causing lights to flicker on and off to the rhythm of the noise. Derpy, lost in amazement and wonder, began to furiously spinning a wheel sticking out of the panel. 4 The TARDIS hit the ground with a thud. The room finally stopped spinning, and Minuette slowly got control of her dinner. "Where are we?" she asked as she stabilized herself after the rocky landing. "No idea. Let's go check!" Derpy bounced over to the door of the spacious room. She slammed head-first into the door and it swung open. It revealed a large metropolitan gray area. Most everything was made of metal, and it all looked very dull and boring, not too much different from your standard desolate future scenario. "This is... this is... this is boring." Derpy said as she slammed the door shut. "I have a better idea!" She trotted over to the gizmos on the control panel and began to randomly spin things once more. 6 The TARDIS fell straight into the hole, as Derpy predicted. Somepony on the inside tried to open the door in a very violent manner, but, seeing that it was immovable, stopped trying. Suddenly, a brilliantly white flash of light, sourced in the TARDIS, burst forth. It tore apart everything in its vaporizing beam. Everything was destroyed, and it all went black. 5 The TARDIS came to a rest once more. Derpy bounded out the door once more, this time with a shovel in hoof. Minuette slowly went outside to see what she was doing. She was digging a hole about two meters to the right of the blue box. "Why are you doing this?" "For fun! Don't you want to see what'll happen?" "What'll happen?" "I don't know! Isn't it great?" She drove the shovel in a couple more times with her mouth and hooves, and then declared it finished. It wasn't even a foot deep. "Quickly! Behind this bush!" She dragged Minuette behind some bushes so they could watch what unfolded next from a safe distance. "This is... this is... this is boring." Derpy said as she slammed the door shut. "I have a better idea!" She trotted over to the gizmos on the control panel and began to randomly spin things once more. Minuette, now realizing what has happened thus far, decided that enough was enough. She randomly pressed a button or two, hoping that they would accomplish what she wanted. She seemed to be guided by a pulling force on her flank, perhaps her cutie mark. When Derpy finally opened the door to the TARDIS once more, they found that they were back in Ponyville. "Aww. That's no fun." "Freedom! Stupid loop! I don't even understand what just happened! I don't care! We're free!" "Well, that wasn't a fun adventure." "Derpy, I hoped you've learned your lesson." "What lesson?" "Don't use Doctor Whooves' TARDIS! And especially don't use it to create paradoxes in which you trap your past selves inside said TARDIS so they can't escape!" "What's a paradox?" "It's that white light that happened towards the end of our 'adventure'. You remember? The thing that sent us all into the whole time loop?" "Oh. That light." "Yeah. That one. Anyway, go to bed, and don't bother me with any more adventures, okay?" "Okay." Derpy and Minuette went their separate ways. And Derpy never bothered Minuette with another adventure again. AN: Ugh. I'm really tired, if you can't tell by the quality of this story. Just ignore this one. Think of it as an experiment that turned out weird because I'm really tired and want to go to bed. I also wrote this entire thing in about an hour, so there's that. Part of some SALT contest. The link's on the title page. Just ignore this story. Just move right along there. Just keep going. Bye. -Puppo530 (P.S. If you're confused about the order of events [like I was at several times while writing this] just read the ones in order of gray numbers at the top of each section.)
