//------------------------------// // Episode 10: Reverse Shot // Story: Ultraman Scorn Season 1 // by SuperSamYoshi //------------------------------// "Ok S, watch me." (Fires a beam) "Cool." "I know. Now you try." (Fires a small weak beam.) "Good work, you're getting better." One dark and calm night, where everything was still, the clocked figure removed her hood and looked up to the night sky. She spoke out telepathically, to a monster coming past mars. “Hurry up and come to me,” she spoke. The monster resembles a giant pterosaur- or bat-like creature, with a flattened, arrow-shaped head, leathery wings with three claws on each, feet with talons, and a tail with a flat sail on top of it. It had silver skin with dull reddish-purple markings and amber-coloured eyes. It was the space variant of an ancient creature that lived on earth. Space Gyaos. It came closer to earth but then out of nowhere, a voice called out, “Razor Beam!” then a blue struck Space Gyaos in the back and the monster blew up. The Clocked Figure’s eyes widen as she felt her connection to the monster being broken. The one who fired the beam was another Ultra, but this one was wearing some sort of armour, that covered its face and colour timer. The Cloaked figure sneered as she turned and before disappearing into the darkness. At CASS HQ, Commander Peach, and Vice-Commander Daisy of the Mushroom City region of the CASS (known as MASS for Mushroom city Attack Squad Service) came over for an unexcepted visit, with some great news. Peach and Daisy where commanders of their own team back at their base. Every Commander of each region of the respected bases would often come over to other bases for check-ups, if that base’s commander is too busy and needs help, or to give some good news in person to their fellow commanders. “Is all the Wondercolts here?” Peach called out, “Your recent battle results have been superb! Keep up the great work and make those at IMAS proud!” “What’s the special occasion?” Celestia asked hugging her young friend, “you two seem very happy.” “The public sees your achievements,” Peach replied. “The public,” said Luna. “Everyone is talking about how Ultraman Scorn and CASS are just incredible,” Daisy declared placing some magazines on the table. “The monster partner article is a little small and Mario’s interview was cut,” Peach said a bit annoyed, “But all in all, great articles.” “There were talks about dismissing the monster partners,” said Flash, “but I’m glad we never gave up, right guys?” But everyone was looking through the magazines. “Look it’s me,” Pinkie exclaimed. “How exciting,” Rarity remarked. “Hey look, you’re in here too Sunset,” Rainbow said, “Canterlot League’s ace striker, active with the defence force CASS.” But Sunset wasn’t having any of it, as she slammed a fist on the table. She startle everyone, as she got up. “Where are you going?” Applejack asked. “A walk,” Sunset replied bluntly. “We’re having a meeting,” Twilight said. “Not in the mood,” Sunset replied as she started to walk out. “Wait!” called Rainbow, “we’re a team, don’t act on your own.” “Team?” Sunset question as she turned to face them, “do you think I care?” as she then walked out the room. “Rainbow!” called Sunrise, but Rainbow tried to stop him. “Sunrise forget her,” Rainbow remarked, “she’s not worth it.” “I can’t” Sunrise said, “we are a team.” Then he rushed after Sunset, as Celestia and Luna watched with confident smiles. Sunset had made her way to the football pitch behind the HQ. She was kicking a football up, before placing a foot on the ball to keep it still. Before Sunset was part of Wondercolt at CASS, she was part of a football team. But sometimes, she wasn’t. She would make headlines in newspapers, like Lonely Ace, No Team for Her and Sunset ignores plans. She was reckless and disobeyed orders from her coach. This would made her teammate hate her. “Selfish jerk!” they would say, “the long shot was just luck.” “It wasn’t luck,” Sunset thought to herself, “I knew where I had to shoot.” She was about to kick the ball into the goal when she stopped. “What are you doing?” she asked. Sunrise was standing in the goal, “Please show me your Fireball Shot!” he called to her. “What?” Sunset asked surprise. “I’ll be the keeper,” Sunrise said, “please give me your best shot.” Twilight, Rainbow, and the rest had come out to see if Sunset was alright. “There’s no way, She was the top scorer three years in a row,” remarked Rainbow. “But you never know what’ll happen,” Twilight responded. “You can do it, Sunrise!” called out Pinkie, Fluttershy and Rarity. “Right,” Sunrise replied, “Go for it.” But Sunset wasn’t in the mood, “Amateur,” she said as she turned away, “blocking my shot? Not even funny.” Elsewhere, a family were hiking in the Green Mountains, singing a jolly little jingle while crossing a bridge, as fog started to roll in. “Its starting to fog up,” said the father. “We’re so close to the top,” said the mother, when suddenly they heard something within the fog, “that’s odd.” The daughter looked up at her mother, suddenly and large pincer shot out from the fog, and toward the screaming family. Back at the base, Lyra and Bon-Bon received an Emergency dispatch request. “Commanders, we’ve received an Emergency dispatch request,” Lyra said. “A possible monster appearance at the Green Mountains,” Bon-Bon responded. “Possible?” Celestia asked. “A thick fog is causing electromagnetic disturbance,” Lyra replied. The Pegasus and Griffin were sent out with Sunrise, Rainbow, Twilight, and Fluttershy in the Pegasus, and Sunset, Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie in the Griffin. They flew into the fog and immediately couldn’t see anything pass the jet’s noses. “Its sure is a thick fog,” remarked Rainbow. “Rainbow the Meter is running wild,” Sunrise said. “No radar in this situation,” Sunset groaned, “are you kidding…” she stopped and looked out into the fog. “What’s wrong?” Applejack asked. “Something moved in the fog just now,” Sunset said. She was right, as a giant pincer shot out the fog towards them. But the Pincer missed both jets. They monster that the pincer belonged to, came out the fog, the monster’s body resembles a worms body, had pincers for both feet and claws, her had pointy ears. It roars out loud at the jets. “It’s a monster as suspected…” Celestia said, watching the monitor showing the action. “According to the database, the International Monster Attack Service had fought this monster before,” Lyra said, looking into the monster’s history. “It’s called Sadora the rock monster,” Bon-Bon declared. Rainbow quickly turned to the left as a pincer came to her. Then turned to the right when another pincer came to strike the Griffin. “What are we going to do?” Rainbow said. “Rainbow,” Microchips voice came on, “Sadora has an organ much like a shark’s ampullae of Lorenzini which allows it to…” “The connection’s bad,” Rainbow interrupted, “get to the point.” “Sadora’s weakness is the tips of its ears,” Luna said as he looked over Microchip’s shoulder. “Roger that,” Rainbow replied. “Electronics are down,” Sunrise said, “we need to…” “Leave it to me,” Sunset called over the radio. “What?!” Rainbow shouted. “I’m taking it down,” Sunset said, as she flew into the fog. “We can’t from this distance in the fog!” said Applejack. “I can see where I need to shoot,” Sunset commented. She flew the Griffin deeper into the fog, she was focusing to spot Sadora. She soon saw the monster moving within the fog. “Plasma cannons fire!” she shouted as she fired the plasma cannons at the monster. And it would of hit, if a bolt of energy shot up from the ground didn’t deflected the plasma beam from hitting Sadora. The bolt of energy was fired from the clocked figure, who was smiling evilly. Sadora created more fog to surround it. “Please land,” Twilight said to Sunrise and Rainbow. “Why?” Rainbow asked. “The fog is clogging the turbine and it’s losing rotation,” Twilight replied. “This fog,” remarked Sunrise as they started to land, “is no ordinary fog.” As the landed, the failed to notice that Sadora was near where they were, the monster started to walk closer to the Pegasus. But then, the clocked figure spoke telepathically to the monster, telling it to stop and follow her. Sadora stopped and looked around to see where the voice came from, it then started to walk away from the Pegasus. “Did it go?” Rarity asked, “can you see?” Pinkie just shrugged. Sunset was thinking about what happened, “the shot bent to the right before it hit,” she thought out loud quietly. The cloaked figure walked down the path, smiling to herself, and licking her lips. She looked to her left and saw Sunrise coming down, who also spotted her. “Who are you?” he said, a bit panicked. The cloaked figure grinned, as fog moved around her, and she disappeared. Sunrise gasped and ran off. “Sunrise, where do you think you’re going?” called Rainbow as she, Twilight and Fluttershy ran after him. Sunrise ran into the forest looking around to try and find the cloaked figure. Rainbow was running after Sunrise, but as she was must faster than Twilight and Fluttershy, she quickly lost them. “Damn it, no one listens to me,” she commented out loud. Although she was on her own, Rainbow could sense that she wasn’t. She slowly grabbed her alpha pistol and spun around and pointed it at some stairs. Her heart skipped a beat as to who she saw. The person she saw hair orange hair, and red eyes, and instantly she knew who it was. “S…S… Sierra…?” she was speechless. But as she blinked, the figure disappeared, “that was… definitely… Sierra!” she called out to him. When everyone was back at the base, Rainbow had some words to tell Sunset. Everyone just watched as Celestia was just reading a newspaper. “Why did you disobey?” Rainbow harshly asked, “if we were closer to hit its weak point… we could’ve defeated it.” “I shot accurately!” snapped Sunset. “Then why’d it miss?” Rainbow snapped back, shoving Sunset. “An interference…” Sunset tired to think of a reason but Rainbow quickly interrupted. “Don’t cover up your failure with a load of crap!” Rainbow snapped, giving Sunset a big shove. “Obviously, there’s no place for me here!” Sunset remarked, “adios!” And with that Sunset left. “Sunset!” Sunrise called to her, but Rainbow stopped him. “Sunrise!” she shouted, “let her be! And nobody’s to follow her.” “And who made you leader,” Sunrise said crossly. Rainbow didn’t reply as she sat down. Silence hung in the air for a bit. “Oh dear,” Celestia said breaking the silence and giving Luna a knowing look, “it would seem we’re out of coffee beams.” “Fluttershy, be a dear and get us some more please,” Luna asked Fluttershy, giving her the knowing look at as well. Fluttershy nodded and went off to get some. Sunset Shimmer was in the locker room changing out of her CASS uniform and into a more casual outfit. She threw a magazine into the bin, when Fluttershy came in. “This is the reason for your temper lately?” she said, picking the magazine out from the bin, before reading some of the headlines, “’Scarlet Stockmen’s lack of teamwork led to the team hating her. Everyone one was relieved when she left due to her injury. For a player with no home of her own, her only option was to retire. The enrolment to CASS was an arrogant coward’s timid escape.’” “What a bunch of lies,” She said after reading the headlines. “I don’t care what they say,” Sunset said as she finished packing up her stuff, “plus… it’s not all lies either.” “What?” asked Fluttershy surprised. “It’s true that the team hated me,” Sunset replied, “I always went by myself when I got upset. I’m just not meant for a team.” “Running away, Miss Stockmen?” Fluttershy queried. Sunset stopped. “Don’t call me that,” she retorted, “why do you even care? You got a crush on me?” “No because I’m not gay,” Fluttershy replied, but I did admire you. I looked up to you as a sort of idol.” “What?” Sunset said turning around to face her. “When I signed up for CASS, I had an interview where they asked me what was your childhood dream. This was my answer… I want to get more confident and became a football player when I grow up. I wanted to be a hero for the next generation to look up to.” “I don’t even remember that,” Sunset said as she left the changing room. She just turned the corner, when she saw Sunrise standing in front of her. “I want to make a bet,” he said, “if I stop your Fireball Shot… Please return to CASS.” “I’m tired of hearing jokes,” Sunset said as she walked passed him. “Running away?” Sunrise called to her, “are you scared of me?” Sunset stopped in her tracks. “Fine. I’ll take that bet.” Outside, the cloaked figure was at a water fountain. She reached into the water and scooped out some water up, then let it fall back into the fountain. Sunrise and Sunset where in football gear and where making there way onto the pitch. “Three game match,” Sunset said, “if you can stop even one of my shots… you win cousin.” “Alright,” Sunrise agreed. “However, I’m not holding back,” Sunset said, “you can leave if you don’t want to get hurt.” “I’m not leaving!” Sunrise declared as they went onto the pitch. “Fine, I respect that,” Sunset said. Fluttershy stood off to the side, “First shot,” Sunset called out. She kicked the ball in the air, then did a bicycle kick in the air, making the ball go flying with the speed of a fireball into the net. Sunrise had no time to reacted. “This seems pointless,” Sunset remarked. “I saw the path,” Sunrise said, “I’ll stop this one!” “Stop being cocky,” Sunset shouted, “second shot!” Sunset kicked the ball in the air, bicycle kicked it, and Sunrise jumped to stop it. It just skimmed him, but although it did go into the goal Sunrise did manage to get the ball of its original course. Sunset was shocked to see that someone had at least altered the course, only thing Sunrise got from that was his goalie gloves were smoking. “Sunrise, I’m putting everything in this last shot,” she said, “don’t think you can stop it!” Sunset and Sunrise got ready, Sunset put all she had into her kick, but she put too much, as the ball fell so fast, it flew into the air and disappeared into the sky. Sunrise was the most surprised. “Unbelievable,” Sunset thought, she was on her knees, “I tensed up too much.” “Are you ok, Sunset?!” Sunrise asked running up to her, “your injury must have affected the shot. I shouldn’t have provoked you to do this bet.” Sunset stood back, “it’s not…” “I’m very sorry,” Sunrise apologised, cutting her off, “I’m so sorry.” “Sunrise… you…” Sunset struggled to say, she smiled, and she helped Sunrise up, “you’re really something.” “Seems like we have a winner,” Fluttershy said as she walked over. “I lost,” Sunset admitted. That night the cloaked figure was waiting in the streets, for Sadora the come. As a fog rolled in, the monster stomped into the city snapping its pincers. “Hey, They’re back!” Pinkie exclaimed as Sunset, Sunrise and Fluttershy walked in. “Sunset will continue to fight alongside us,” Sunrise assured them. “Great! We were so worried,” Twilight said. “Wait,” said Rainbow, she didn’t look up to Sunset, “I’ve still not forgiven her.” “I know,” Sunset said as she and Rainbow locked out. Outside in the fog, people’s phones won’t working, Until the looked up to see Sadora making it’s way through the city. The monster roared scaring everyone on the ground. “Sadora has appeared in down town Detrot,” Lyra declared. “Right, Wondercolts, take off!” called Celestia. “Roger,” they all replied. They boarded the Griffin and Pegasus and took off to stop Sadora. Due to the fog and the lighten behind the monster, Sadora looked very scary and threaten. Some girls on a bridge looked up at the monster, who launched a pincer at them. “That’s it,” spoke the Cloaked Figure from a safe distance, “Prey on more of them.” Soon the Griffin and Pegasus arrived. “Sadora is visible,” Sunrise said. But the Sadora started to emit the fog around its body. The Wondercolts in the control notice this. “It disappeared,” said Derpy. “I get it,” Microchips exclaimed, “it expels volatile fluid to create a mist, and attacks from the fog. That’s Sadora’s ability!” “It’s like a ninja attack,” remarked Luna. “Show yourself!” exclaimed Sunset, “I’ll get you this time!” “it’s coming,” Applejack declared, “9 o’clock!” She was right. A Pincer shot out from the fog and just missed the aircrafts. Sadora stomped on cars, causing explosions as he walked. The Pegasus flew in close for a firing shot. “Shock Blasters, fire!” Rainbow cried as she fired lasers at Sadora, but just like before, the Cloaked Figure shot bolts of energy to defect the laser blast, “What was that?” Rainbow asked. “It was the same as before!” replied Sunrise, as another bolt of energy struck the Pegasus. “Pulse engine’s damaged!” called out Rainbow, “landing!” While they were crash-landing, the cloaked figure watched with an evil smile, “stop bothering our dinner,” she snickered evilly, as Sadora emitted more fog. “This place is too crowded,” Rarity remarked. “Don’t worry I can do it,” Sunset said, as the Griffin hovered, and Sunset looking around to see movement in the fog. She then spotted Sadora moving and its glowing eyes. “I see him right there!” she screamed, “Launch!” She fired energy bullets at Sadora and successfully shot Sadora in the chest. Pinkie and Rarity cheered and Applejack high-fived Sunset, but suddenly, another Sadora appeared from behind them. Rarity was the first to notice, “Behind us!” she screamed. “What?!” Sunset questioned looking back to see the other Sadora coming up behind them. Sunrise ran out of the Pegasus and saw the second Sadora. He raised his hands, and he was transported to the starry nexus. Sunrise raised up her arms up and the slots opened, the coins in his hands. “Bond me with your weapon, Seven!” {ULTRASEVEN} “Bond me with your flame, Mebius!" {ULTRAMAN MEBIUS} “With the fire in my heart, I'll burn away the evil!!” {RISE, ULTRAMAN SCORN BURNING BRAVE!!} The Second Sadora was about to swing it’s pincer down on the Griffin, but Ultraman Scorn blocked it. He through the pincer back up and punched Sadora in the chest. “Ultraman Scorn,” Derpy cried. The Ultra and the monster got into fighting poses before Sadora ran forward and tried to strike Scorn with its pincers, but Scorn blocked them again and through the monster to the side. Scorn grabbed Sadora’s arm, and jabbed it in the chest with his elbow, before kicking it twice and throwing it into a construction site. Scorn then sat on Sadora, and punched it, but Sadora managed to smack Scorn off. Scorn fell to the ground as Sadora chuckled and started to create more fog. Scorn stood up but could see where Sadora was, he heard something from behind him but turned to late as a pincer struck him in the chest. Scorn staggered back as another struck him in the chest again and another struck him in the back. Scorn fell but quickly got back up and looked around. But again, Sadora had disappeared in the fog. He heard stomps from behind him and was too late again as Sadora swung a pincer into Scorn’s face, knocking him back. Scorn tried to punch the rock monster, but Sadora caught both Scorn’s arms in it’s pincers, then kicked Scorn down. Scorn struggled to get up as Sadora grabbed him back the neck and threw him into a building, destroying it. Scorn’s colour started to blink, meaning he hadn’t much time left. Scorn struggled to get up, as Sadora came closer, emitting fog as it went. In the Griffin, Rarity, Pinkie, Applejack and Sunset were getting worried. “Commander, we need a way to blow this fog away,” Sunset called to her. “Well good news,” she replied, “the tech experts have constructed a device that has been implanted into all our vehicles. This will allow you to transform the Griffin into a robotic Mecha griffin.” “Wait what?” Sunset asked a little shocked, “well let’s give it a shot.” Sunset pulled a lever, and the whole aircrafts started to transform around them. Soon, forming a robotic Mecha Griffin. The Griffin flapped it’s wings and flew towards Sadora with incredible speed. Sadora threw a pincer at the Griffin, but Sunset dodged it. Sadora tried again, but Sunset dodged them as well. “It’s close enough,” Rarity screamed. “Not yet,” called Sunset. The Cloaked figure tried to fight a bolt of energy at the Griffin, but it again dodged it. “Vacuum Bluster! Fire!” Sunset shouted, as the beak of the Griffin opened and fire a power gust of wind towards the ground, blowing away the fog. Sadora looked around confused as the Griffin fired lasers from it’s front talons at Sadora’s ears. This disorientated it. “Finish it off Scorn!” Sunset shouted. Scorn nodded, he lowered his right arm in a sort of circle shape, then brought his arms to perform the Nihonium Beam. Scorn fired his beam attack at Sadora’s chest, the rock monster roared in pain, then collapsed to the ground dead. “Yes!” cheered Sunset, “I knew he was the hero I could look up to!” “I thought Fluttershy said you didn’t remember that,” Pinkie teased. “I just remembered,” Sunset replied, but Pinkie knew she was lying. Scorn looked down at the corpse of Sadora, he was just about to fly away, when the first Sadora grabbed him by the neck with it’s pincer. Scorn struggled as a third came out from hiding. “There was… more than one,” Sandalwood, muttered. The first Sadora smacked Scorn to the ground, then started stomping on his back. Scorn cried in pain, as the third Sadora laughed. Then suddenly, a blue beam shot towards the first Sadora, knocking it off Scorn and exploded on the ground. Rainbow watched from the ground, a bright blue light float down from the sky, as the light faded, it revealed to be the Ultra that shot Space Gyaos. Scorn looked up and was shocked to see this new Ultra. The ultra was wearing armour, and a vizor, and orange tubes connecting the armour together, as well as blades on his arms and head. The Ultra crossed his arms and channelled energy to the Vizor and fired a beam from it at the third and finally Sadora, destroying it. Scorn looked at where the Sadora once stood, then turned back to the Ultra. Everyone was shocked to see the power of this new Ultra as it flew away. Scorn just stood there, looking up where the Ultra flew off too, as Scorn muttered one word. “Razor.” Greetings my little readers, I am Vice-Commander Luna, and I'm here to bring you this instalment of Wondercolt Monster Library. Today we will be looking at, look at the Rock monster Sadora. Sadora, Alternately known as Sadola, the Rock monster. He stands at 60 meters tall and weighs at 24,000 tonnes. its home is earth. In the Return of Ultraman series, Sadora's episode marks the first time in the Ultraman Series that more than one Kaiju/aliens fought an Ultra at the same time, the other kaiju was Detton. Sadora's design was intended to be more scorpion-like, thus his name was set to be Sasolar, after "Sasori" meaning scorpion. Sadora's are also pack hunters, hints why more than one showed up in this episode. And if your wondering what happened to that family hiking and those girls on the bridge, Sadora eat them. And on that disappointing note, it's the end of this instalment of Wondercolt Monster Library. We hope you'll join us next time. Until then... Goodbye everyone.
