Rescue in the Storm
It was a bright afternoon at Fluttershy's cottage. The pegasus herself was tending to her animal friends as she greeted them with a smile. She didn't think nothing would ruin this wonderful time she was having. But she didn't expect what was about to happen next.
The calm breeze that she felt blowing was no longer calm. It was starting to get windier and stronger. Fluttershy looked at the sky and saw the leaves being blown around much faster before she realized what was going on. A storm was coming this way!
She turned to her animal friends. "Quickly, everyone! Storm is coming!"
Immediately, the animals quickly rushed to their homes, sheltering themselves from the storm. The birds flew into their nests, rabbits hopped to their burrows, and the squirrels scurried up the trees and into their holes.
Once every animal was safe and sound in their homes, Fluttershy began heading for her cottage. As she tried to make it to her cottage, Fluttershy felt the wind pushing against her, trying to push back. She had never seen a storm like this and it was getting hard to reach her cottage.
All of a sudden, the pegasus found herself being blown by the wind as it lifted her in the sky before she let out a yelp. As she continued to be blown by the wind, Fluttershy desperately began to flap her wings, hoping to fly through the storm.
"Must...break...through," she said, flapping her wings with all her might.
However, the storm proved to be more stronger and Fluttershy was getting tired and tired by the minute as her wings were beginning to slow down.
Fluttershy panted as she tried keep her wings flapping. "Need...to...keep...them...going," the pegasus panted as she was getting tired and more tired by the second.
Down below, Discord was busy minding his own business until he looked up in the sky and saw Fluttershy being blown by the wind. The pegasus was trying to break free from the wind that was blowing her around with little success as her wings gave it their all. Discord also saw that Fluttershy was starting to get a little fatigued from all the flying that she was doing before he realized what would happen. He knew that if Fluttershy stopped flying, that meant that the storm would keep blowing her away to who knows where! He then knew what he had to do. He unfurled his wings as he took to the air and headed for Fluttershy.
"I'm coming, Fluttershy!" he said.
Back with Fluttershy, her wings could not flap anymore and the pegasus soon found herself being blown by the storm as she was beginning to pass out. Fluttershy tried to get her wings to flap some more, but she could not flap anymore as she felt her eyes beginning to close. As her eyes were closing, Fluttershy could have sworn that she could see a familiar figure flying towards her before she completely passed out. Discord made his way through the storm as he battled against the wind and made his way towards Fluttershy.
Once he finally got close to the unconscious pegasus, Discord quickly grabbed her and carried her into his arms as he flew out of the storm and headed for her cottage. When they finally reached the cottage, Discord opened the door and went inside as he carried the unconscious Fluttershy before closing the door behind them with his tail. Hearing the storm rage on outside, he looked at the pegasus still in her unconscious state. As he did, he carefully inspected her, making sure she didn't get and scratches or bruises on her body. After seeing that she did not have any scratches or bruises, he sighed in relief, glad that she was okay. He happily nuzzled her, glad that the pegasus did not get any injuries from the storm. Seeing that Fluttershy was completely tired from all that flying she did while trying to get out of the storm, Discord thought of putting Fluttershy into her bed so she can rest while he would head back to his house.
Before he could prepare to take her upstairs, the unconscious pegasus hugged Discord's arm. As she continued to hug his arm, the draconequus looked at the pegasus. It was almost as if she didn't want to be alone with what she had gone through already. So, he went into the living room as he carried Fluttershy until they got to the couch. He placed Fluttershy on the couch before he laid down beside her. Snapping his fingers, he conjured up a blanket and placed it above himself and the pegasus. He looked at the pegasus as she slept in her peaceful state before he laid his head down beside her before he closed his eyes and slept.
Some hours later, Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes as she began to awaken. Now fully awake, Fluttershy found herself in her own cottage as the storm blew on outside. But that was not the only thing that surprised her.
Sleeping right next to her was Discord, his body right beside her. Looking at the draconequus, Fluttershy recalled what had happened outside before she finally understood. Somehow, Discord had seen she was in trouble and saved her from the storm before taking her home. For some reason, Fluttershy felt safe and secure with Discord beside her.
Looking at the draconequus with a smile, Fluttershy decided that she'll thank Discord for saving her once he was awake. But for now, she felt like sleeping beside him a bit more. She closed her eyes as she snuggled a bit closer to him. As she slept, Discord opened one eye as he watched her sleep before softly wrapping his tail around her as if he were protecting her. As he looked at the pegasus, Discord just smiled before he went back to sleep as well. The storm outside blew, but surprisingly, it did not disturb the two as they slept peacefully together.
