//------------------------------// // Thomas’ Train // Story: Super Dream Team: The Adventure Begins // by Lawton //------------------------------// The next day Twilight, Ash, Mikey, and Thomas were back in the yard. “It's not fair! All the engines pull trains except me! I never go anywhere.” Groaned Thomas as he bashed a truck. “Whoa! Pump the brakes, Thomas!” Said Percy to calm him down. “Yeah. You’ll get your chance, Soon.” Added Ash. “Pika Pikachu.” And then, Twilight and Thomas saw the strangest train she have ever seen before: a small coach, flat cars and two cranes. But, She had no idea where they're going so she and Thomas decided to investigate. “Wake up, Lazy wheels!” Whistled Thomas as the two cranes woke up. “Judy!” Gasped one of them. “Jerome!” Gasped the other. “Emergency!” Shouted the two cranes. “Where's the accident?” Asked Jerome. “Is an engine off the rails?” Asked Judy. “Or is it a break down?” “A fire?” “A bridge out?” “No, no, no. I, um... Well...” Thomas interrupted. “I just wondering where you were going, that's all.” Corrected Twilight. “Twilight, Thomas, Over here!” Called a voice. It was Clarabel with Annie. “Sorry to disturb you.” Apologized Thomas. “Disturb us?” Judy realized. “False alarm.” Moaned Jerome. “Emergencies never disturb us, did that, Jerome?” Judy asked. “Oh, you don't want to go wasting time.” Replied Jerome. “Just in case we're needed.” Said Judy. Twilight and Thomas moved back to the other side of the yard to meet Annie and Clarabel “You mustn't touch those cranes.” Said Clarabel sternly. “Why not?” Asked Mikey. “That's the breakdown train.” Annie answered. “But why are they in the yard if they're not meant to be shunted? Don't they ever go anywhere?” Thomas asked. “Only in emergencies.” Said Clarabel. “Like when a poor helpless coach needs lifting back onto the rails.” Annie explained as Judy and Jerome went back to sleep. “Okay. We won't bother them again.” Said Twilight when James puffed in with Dawn and Julio. “Ta-da! You can take my trucks away now, Thomas. I'm ready for my coaches.” He whistled “Oh.” Moaned Annie and Clarabel. “You're such a show-off, James.” Moaned Annie. “Maybe he is. But, You just wait and see if Sir Topham Hatt doesn't give us our own branch line soon.” Said Julio. “You got that right.” Replied Psychemon. “Hmm, there's that burning smell again.” Sniffed Thomas smelling some smoke again. Doraemon smelled it too. “Ew. Smokey.” Replied Doraemon. “Huh?” Said James. When he noticed some smoke, he blows it away. One morning, Henry wasn’t feeling well. Twilight was worried as her friends woke up. “Oh. Good morning, Sis. What’s wrong with Henry?” Doraemon asked. “It’s Henry. He wouldn’t come out of the shed.” Explained Dorami and she was right. “Is it because you think it might rain today, Henry?” Thomas guessed. “No, Thomas. I think there’s something wrong with my boiler.” Henry corrected. “Jeez.” Moaned Ewan. “At this rate, he might not be able to pull his coaches today.” “No good. No good. Very No good.” Replied Damemon. “Maybe your firebox needs warming up.” Twilight thought. “But, what about our passengers?” Lillie asked. “Don’t you worry, Lillie.” Said Thomas. “I’ll go and fetch your coaches.” And he puffed away. Later in the yard, Edward and his friends noticed Thomas humming happily while shunting trucks. “What are you so happy about today, guys?” Edward asked. “If Henry doesn't come….” Thomas started. “….I’ve might get to pull his train.” Twilight finished. “Eevee Vee.” “I’d be careful if I were you.” Said Roger. “It's not as easy as you think, Thomas.” Added Edward. “Pulling trains is hard work.” “Blah blah blah. I’ll bet will be a piece of cake.” Said Noby. Soon, Twilight and her friends arrived at Knapford with Henry’s coaches. They waited and waited. But still, Henry and his friends didn't come. This made Sir Topham Hatt worried. “Oh.” Tutted Sir Tophom Hatt. “You'll have to find another engine.” “Uh, there's only Thomas, Sir.” Said the station Master. He looks at Thomas, Ash, and Noby who have very big smiles. “Hmm. You guys have to do it. Be quick now.” Suggested Sir Tophom Hatt. “Yes, Sir. Sir.” Replied Thomas excitedly. “It’s just ‘Sir’, Thomas.” Corrected Twilight. Thomas raced around to the front of the coaches and back up to them with a bump! He was so excited. Sir Topham Hatt cringes the noise. ”Oh. Don't be impatient now, Thomas. Wait until everything is ready.” Sir Tophom Hatt ordered. But, Twilight, Thomas, and their friends were far too excited and not really listening. Twilight, Thomas, and their friends heard a guard’s whistle. But, they were in such a rush, they thought it was their guard. So, they took off before their coaches could be coupled up. “Thomas! Twilight! Stop! Come back!” Called Sir Tophom Hatt. But, it was too late. They were already gone. “We’re doing it! We’re doing it! We’re pulling a train!” Said Thomas happily. He then sees James approaching with some cars. “Thomas? Where are you going?” James asked. “Yeah. I thought you were working in the yard.” Added Ace. “Can't you see I'm pulling coaches, Ace?” Laughed Noby. But, James and his friends didn’t see any coaches behind Thomas. “Edward says it's hard to pull trains but I think it's easy.” Chuckled Thomas. “Easy peasy, Yummy bun squeezy!” Replied Doraemon. In a signal box, some signalmen are on the phone. “Right. Yep. Eh?” Just then they see Thomas without his coaches and rushed outside. “Come on! Thomas! Thomas!” The signalmen waved to Thomas to stop. But, Twilight, Thomas, and their friends didn’t take no notice “They're pleased to see us. Ha-ha.” Ash wondered. “Pika.” “They've never see Thomas pulling a train before.” Replied Sakura. “Ah, it's nice of them to wave.” Added Kero. They then approaches a signal which was red. “Oh bother. That red signal means danger. I have to stop. What a nuisance signals are. Signalman: Hello Thomas. What are you doing here? Thomas: I'm pulling my very first passenger train. Can't you see? Signalman: Really? Then where are your coaches? Thomas: (look back in shock and gasps) Oh no! [The scene changes back to Knapford] Henry: Back at the station, the passengers were all talking at once, telling Sir Topham Hatt what a bad railway it was. Sir Topham Hatt: Uh, please everybody. Please calm down! We will find another engine as soon as we.... Oh. [Thomas return] Thomas: I'm sorry, Sir. I really am. Sir Topham Hatt: I did say to wait until everything is ready, Thomas. Henry: This time, Thomas waited to be coupled up and for the passengers to climb on board. [The guard blew his whistle] Thomas: Ready? Sir Topham Hatt: Yes, Thomas. Now we're ready.
