//------------------------------// // Twilight's first adventure // Story: Helping Megan fit in // by TalB //------------------------------// After Megan mentioned her first adventure from her perspective she then said, "Twilight, now it would be nice to hear what it was like for your first adventure from your side of the story." As Twilight kept her promise, she started by saying, "It started out when I was reading a book known as the "Tale of the Two Sisters", which talked about how Celestia banished her sister to the moon. Along with Spike, I later on found a book that did tell me that there was a prophecy that Nightmare Moon would return on the Summer Sun Celebration. However, I was stopped by Celestia herself in claiming that I was wasting my time reading nothing but dusty old books." Megan interrupted Twilight and asked, "What was the real reason she mentioned that? Was it because she just thought you spent too much time reading books, or was it because she was in a state of denial on banishing her sister and wanted to forget all about that? Twilight then answered and continued her story by stating, "I'm not exactly sure which one it was, though either one could have been the case, but Celestia insisted that I should take some time off from studying to make some friends in her claim that I was too much of a bookworm. Nonetheless, I was told to go over to Ponyville to help set up for that said celebration. When I got there, I met some ponies such as Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie, who would help me set up for the event. However, when we approached town hall, we started to see Nightmare Moon appear for some reason while Celestia herself was nowhere to be found, and she even mentioned how she was going to bring eternal darkness to all of Equestria starting with Ponyville." Megan then said, "First of all, I'm surprised that Celestia wanted you to have friends. That just doesn't seem like her to say that to any of her students. As for Nightmare Moon showing up after being banished, it was interesting that neither of the two played a role in her release, because Luna had no idea how she got back, while Celestia claimed that she did absolutely nothing to release her. Maybe you knew what got her out of the moon, because they didn't seem to know." As Twilight explained, "It was possible that her banishment was timed and that a special alignment of the stars was part of a timer that was keeping track of such. My guess is that her thousand years banishment was finally over, and she was allowed to return. However, I still couldn't figure out why Celestia herself wasn't there when she showed up, so I decided I would take on Nightmare Moon by myself." After hearing that statement Megan then claimed, "At least you had a choice in going after Nightmare Moon not to mention you knew what was going on before engaging in such unlike me, who was just dragged in order to help stop Tirac without even knowing about any of it first." "To this day, I feel very sorry about how you were first brought in to help the ponies of your time, but sometimes you need to remember about what I said earlier about sometimes how the wrong choices in the short run can be the right decisions in the long run." explained Twilight. "I guess you're right about that." said Megan. Twilight then continued with her story, "At first I was going to do it all alone, but then those ponies who were going to help me set up for the event decided to help me even though I didn't want them to. Seeing that they weren't going to take no for an answer, they helped me find the book over at the Golden Oaks Library that would tell us where to find the Elements of Harmony to help beat her by heading to Castle Everfree where the two used to reside. As it turned out, each of us seemed to have a connection to the said elements as there were six of them." Megan asked, "How so?" Twilight then said, "First, Applejack represented honesty by claiming that I will be saved by letting go of her hooves in that I will be saved by Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. Second, Fluttershy represented kindness by telling us to stop attacking the manticore only to find out that it had a thorn stuck in its paw and wasn't even harmful. Third, Pinkie Pie represented laughter by singing a song that would help us laugh away our fears as the trees turned back to normal. Fourth, Rarity represented generosity by giving a sea serpent who was blocking the river her tail to replace the other half of the mustache that he lost. Fifth and finally, Rainbow Dash represented loyalty by ignoring those Shadowbolts to help fix the bridge to help us get across." Out of interest, Megan then asked, "What element did you represent, because you didn't seem to mention the one that happened to be yours?" Twilight then continued her story and said, "The interesting part is that the sixth element was originally unknown as the book didn't mention it unlike the other five. As I managed to get into the castle, I found the orbs only to have Nightmare Moon smash them as if she believed that they couldn't be used. However, that didn't stop me as believing the spirits of the elements could still be used as they transformed into necklaces for my friends, while mine became a crown for knowing what the sixth and final element was, which happened to be magic. On a side note, gaining the new version of the Elements of Harmony did allow for Rarity to have her tail grow back. Nonetheless, we were able to use them to defeat Nightmare Moon and change her back to who she really was, which was Princess Luna. After her defeat, Celestia showed up and forgave her for everything she did, and we all went back to Ponyville to resume the celebration only now with Luna being there and being introduced to the crowd. Although Celestia wanted me to return to Canterlot after all of this, I insisted on staying in Ponyville to learn more about the magic of friendship and I would report anything back to her when needed." After hearing all of this, Megan, now feeling curious, asked, "What I don't get here is that why didn't Celestia just take on Nightmare Moon herself when she returned, which made you have to do it instead of her?" Twilight answered, "Again, as I have said in my story, I had no idea where she was at the time, but if someone had to stop her, it had to be me not matter what dangers I would be facing for doing so." After that, Megan commented, "I take it that the Elements of Harmony can also act as a purifier in that if a creature isn't truly evil, they can be changed back into who they were originally." Twilight then mentioned, "That is very true, and the same thing happened to Sunset Shimmer when she took my crown, though for that one, though it was just my crown alone that was able to do that with the help of the friends I made there who reminded me of the ones back in Equestria." Megan then asked another question, "How come nobody raised any questions or suspicions when they saw Luna at the end especially since it seemed as if she appeared out of the blue after being gone for a thousand years not to mention that it was first time the rest of the town even knew about her?" Twilight then said, "Unfortunately, there is no clear answer for that, though it could have been that they just didn't care about it after what had just happened. Maybe they just wanted to get on with the celebration. Either way, it was probably better at the time they didn't know that Luna was Nightmare Moon and probably for her sake, because she might have persecuted greatly if they did with the possibly of wanting Celestia overthrown for wanting to keep a former monster by her side even if she happened to be her sister." Megan then said, "I can see why that was the case until now."
