The Dazzlings were currently in their house having a practice Battle with one another. The house was perfectly decorated for Valentine's Day a day that the Dazzlings were looking forward to. Today was the day the Dazzlings were going to "hang out" with some "friends."
"Girls be on your best behavior with your friends. I want you back here before nighttime, got it?" Sunset asked as she looked at the Dazzlings.
"Yes, mom!" The Dazzlings said, and with that, they headed off to their "friends" houses.
Adagio had arrived at Venus's house, she was excited to see how the day would turn out. The backyard door was open so she walked in, and there she saw Venus outside. He turned his head to see that Adagio had arrived, he smiled and waved at her.
"Hey, Adagio! How are you?" Venus asked.
"Hey, Venus! I'm good and how are you?" Adagio asked.
Venus smiled. "I'm good, but I think you want to watch this. Apparently, it has something to do with the future of the Blading world."
Adagio looked at Venus with confusion but then decided to see what he was talking about. The screen then lit up and it showed Tom with Aaron beside him.
"Hello everyone! Today we have a special announcement! There's a new tournament in the making, it's called the Team Tournament! This tournament will be worldwide! Anyone can join no matter what their ranking is! This tournament will decide the best team in the entire world. You along with two other individuals will have to work together to prove if your team has what it takes to be the best!" Tom announced.
"This tournament will focus on the teamwork between you and your friends. In the first few round of the tournament, it'll be a first to three points. You and your team must win three full matches to win. The final showdown will be a first to five, where you and your team must win five whole matches to win! Do you and your teammates have what it takes to be the best? And be declared the best team ever! Find out!" Aaron announced.
"We look forward to seeing all the amazing talent at the stadium. Until then, see you then!" With that, the screen went blank. Adagio continued to look at the blank screen in awe. A team tournament, she was totally going to enter but who would be her other two partners?
"Cool right? I'm guessing you're going to enter, I can see that fire in your eyes. Who do you think you're going to team up with?" Venus asked as he looked at Adagio with a knowing smile.
Adagio smiled at him. "Of course, I'm going to enter, I'm the World Champion after all!" Adagio then looked down at the ground. "However, I'm not sure who I'm going to team up with... Do you want to team up with me?"
Venus looked at her confused. "I thought you were going to want to team up with your sisters, plus I'm nowhere near as good as a Blader as you are. I'll probably just push you down with my skills."
"That's not true! You're an amazing Blader! And to be honest I don't know if me and my sisters teaming up is a good idea. We fight more than we get along. If we team up we probably won't go far. Please, be one of my partners! I know we'll make a good team!" Adagio begged, she really did want Venus on her regardless if she had a crush on him or not.
Venus then thought of an idea. "How about this, we have a Battle! If I win you decide if whether or not we should team up. If you win, I'll team up with you... and give you a little surprise."
Adagio looked at Venus confused. "Surprise? What kind of surprise? I wanna know what the surprise is!"
Venus smiled and laughed at her. "Gotta beat me if you want to find out. However I don't plan on losing, I've gotten much stronger since the last time we battled. You shouldn't underestimate me Adagio or else it'll lead to your defeat!"
Adagio scoffed. "Please! I'm the World Champion, and as the Champion, I don't lose to anyone. I'll beat you and you'll get a surprise of yourself with your Bey bursting!"
Venus laughed. "My Bey ain't bursting but yours will! Now let's go!" The two then got into position.
"Three! Two! One! Let it Rip!" They both yelled.
The two Beys collide in the center and already Venus was getting ready for a special attack. Adagio had kept Achilles in Attack Mode but without the sword equipped.
"Let's go Valtryek! Use Comical Star!!" Venus yelled.
"Survive the hit, Achilles!" Achilles yelled.
Valtryek hits Achilles sending it flying, Adagio was surprised but that wasn't going to stop her. Achilles was coming back down from the sky and was heading toward Valtryek!
"NOW ACHILLES!!" Achilles started to shine and went into Hyper-Flux. "RAIN DOWN ON YOUR ENEMY WITH UNISON DIVE!!"
"NOT HAPPENING! GO VALTRYEK!" Valtryek started to speed up and started heading towards Achilles who was still falling from the sky. "USE COMICAL STAR!!!"
The two Beys collide with one another neither of them giving up for even a second. Both Bladers wanted to win but sadly one of them was going to lose.
"USE UNISON BREAKER NOW!!!" Adagio cried out.
With no time to escape Achilles hits Valtryek with its special move making the Bey burst. Venus gasps in surprise while Adagio starts cheering for her victory. When Adagio went to go pick up her Bey, however, her Bey burst. Adagio gasped, Venus had gotten stronger, so strong that he almost won.
Adagio looked at Venus and smiled. "You sure have gotten strong Venus, you almost had me there. I hope our next Battle is just as action-packed as this one!"
Venus looked at Adagio and smiled. "Yeah! So... you won, do you still want me to be your partner for the team tournament?"
"I'm actually going to have to get back at you about that one. Don't get me wrong I would love to partner up with you, but I want to think about all of my decisions. I mean there's Bael, Leon, Athena, Phoebe, and so many other powerful Bladers out there that we don't even know about. So... I'm sorry." Adagio looked down.
"Don't be, I understand what you mean. The World Champion should have a Champion team just like her." Venus's comment made Adagio blush.
Adagio then looked away. "So, uh... what's the surprise you had for me?"
Venus looked up at the sky, the sun was starting to set. Venus then smiled and looked at Adagio.
"That. That's my surprise for you." As he looked up at the Sunset. Adagio looked and it was a perfect view of the sun setting. Venus sat down and Adagio sat next to him. "So what do you think of it?"
Adagio looked at Venus and smiled. "I love it." With that Adagio gave Venus a kiss on the cheek.
'This is the best Valentine's Day ever!' Adagio thought as she continued to look at the sunset with a blushing Venus next to her.
Aria had arrived at Bael's house and walked to the back of the house. When she entered the backyard she saw Bael training with his Bey. He was also looking at something on his phone screen.
"Yo, Bael! What're you looking at?" Aria asked as she arrived.
Bael turned around and looked at Aria. "Hey, Aria! There's word about some team tournament. Three people team up and see if they have what it takes to be the best team ever. The tournament is worldwide too and the team that wins will be declared as the world's best team!"
Aria looked at him surprised. "Wow, I wonder who I'm going to team up with? I'm going to need to team up with some people just as strong as me!"
Bael looked at her surprised. "I was for sure you were going to team up with your sisters. I mean with Adagio the Champion as your sister and Sonata who made it in the Semi-Finals and then you, that's a dream team in itself.
Aria thought about it but shrugged her shoulders. "I guess... but what if I want to team up with you? What would you say to that?"
Bael smirked. "I would say no because I'm way too powerful to be on your team! What happened at the first tournament was prior luck, I can beat you."
Aria scoffed and laughed. "I could beat you with my eyes closed! I've beaten you once and I can do it again! Just admit my attacks are too much for your defense!"
Bael smirked as he crossed his arms. "Want to test that theory out right here and now? Balkesh will defeat your Apocalypse! I have the Type advantage and more experience than you!"
"And what if you do? No matter what you try you can't stop me! I may not have made it to the Semi-Finals like my other sisters but I'm just as strong as them if not stronger!" Aria said as she showed off her Bey.
"Enough talking and let's just let our Beys do the talking. Or are you too scared to battle me?" Bael asked as he showed off his Bey.
"I'm not scared of anything and you're nothing but scary Bael! Let's do this thing!" As the two got into position.
"Three! Two! One! Let it Rip!!" They both yelled.
Both Beys landed on the stadium, Balkesh took the center while Apocalypse rushed around the outer edge.
"Alright, Apocalypse! Hit Balkesh with everything you got and show them who's boss! Use Omega Blast!" Aria yelled.
Apocalypse rushes in and strikes down Balkesh making it go out of the center. Balkesh's lock advances making it go to the center and making small wings appear. Bael smiles at this, his plan was working.
Bael looked up at Aria with a smile. "Thank Aria! Because of you, Balkesh's defense is at its strongest! Now your chances of winning are over! Try as you might but you'll still lose!"
Aria looked back at Bael and smiled. "Think again Bael because I never give up! Don't stop Apocalypse and hit it over and over again! Make them beg for mercy!!"
Apocalypse continues to hit Balkesh over and over again but with the increased defense its attacks weren't doing anything. Apocalypse was now starting to run out of stamina quickly and Balkesh looked untouched. If Aria didn't do something soon she was going to lose the Battle and she didn't want that.
"Sorry Aria but some things just happen, it was just meant for you to lose to me. So why don't you bow to me and my almighty Balkesh!" The avatar of Balkesh was seen behind Bael roaring.
Aria looked at Bael, he was fired up and he was giving it his all. Aria could do better than this and she knew she could! "Apocalypse! This ain't over yet! Let's show them what we can do at full power! Use PRIME REBOOT!!"
Apocalypse not only sped up but also gained a massive boost of power. Bael looked at Apocalypse in surprise but then he put his game face back on.
"It seems this match ain't over just yet! Fine by me, come at me Aria!" Bael yelled.
Apocalypse charges towards Balkesh and the two enter a head-to-head collision with one another. Neither of them was backing down and neither were their Bladers.
"ARIA!!!" Bael yelled with the avatar of Balkesh behind him.
"BAEL!!!" Aria yelled with the avatar of Apocalypse behind him.
"Let's go Balkesh!" Bael yelled.
"Take them down Apocalypse!" Aria yelled.
The two Beys' avatars come to life as they both continue to push each other. Just then Aria came up with a genius idea that not even Bael would be prepared for!
"Now use Final Blast!" Aria yelled.
The impact from the attack sent Balkesh flying toward the stadium wall. Once it made contact with the wall however it burst, leaving a surprised Bael but a happy Aria.
"You were saying? Looks like I'm the winner!" Aria said with a smirk.
Bael looked at Aria as he picked up his Bey. "Yeah, I guess so. I was so close too, I'll be sure to get you next time!"
"That's what you said this time, it wouldn't happen next time." Aria smiled as she looked at Bael.
Bael rolled his eyes. "Oh shush you, I can beat you."
Aria looked at Bael the way the sun was hitting him was making him twice as cute as before to Aria. Before she knew it, she had given Bael a kiss on the cheek and started to hug him.
'This is the best Valentine's ever!' Aria thought as she continued to hug Bael.
"So what do you think Sonata? Do you have a game plan for what you're going to do?" Arctic asked Sonata. They had just seen the video explaining the whole team tournament and Arctic wanted to know if Sonata had any idea about who she was going to team up with.
"No... not really. I mean, maybe Dagi and Ari want to team up with me? But then again they probably want to team up with Venus or Bael. Or they'll probably go with powerful people like Leon, or Phoebe, heck maybe even Dean or Derek. There are so many people I could choose, I don't have a clue who I want to team up with." Sonata said holding her head, all of this thinking was hurting her head.
"You should try teaming up with people you personally have a connection with. Like Adagio and Aria, they're your sisters and the three of you have that family bond. You're friends with Athena and Phoebe so maybe one of them as well. You should also team up with people that have different styles of Blading. For example, Spryzen is a Balance Type that can switch Type and spin direction, it's not great at anything but not bad at anything. If you teamed up with someone like Leon you would have a good offense but not-so-great defense. And if you were to team up with someone like Bael you would have a good defense but a bad offense. It all matters on the Bladers and what Beys they have." Arctic explained.
Sonata held her head even harder. "All of this just for me choosing some partners. Don't you think this is a bit much? I mean sure all of this is very helpful but I think this is too much. I love that you're helping me but I want to go based off of what I know, I kinda want to do this by myself. I know you probably know what's best but this a friendly team tournament not picking out an unstoppable team."
Arctic nodded his head. "I guess your right, sorry Sonata."
"No, no. Don't be sorry, you gave me some helpful ideas. I just need to them to my advantage and make the ultimate team! Just watch, Arctic, I'll make the best team and win the whole thing whether or not I have Adgaio or Aria!" Sonata said with a smile.
Arctic once again nodded his head. "I'm sure if anyone can do it you can Sonata. Between the three of you girls, I think you have the most potential. Sure, Aria and Adagio are strong Bladers with their hands on Beys like Prime Apocalypse and Union Achilles. However, I think you and Spryzen have the strongest bond between Blader and Bey."
"Wow, thanks Arctic. It means a lot to hear that. Ever since Spryzen was destroyed by Gabby, I've wanted nothing more but to get a rematch with her and show her that me and Spryzen will never lose to her ever again. But we still have a long way to go until we can Battle her and beat her. I mean unlike Adagio we didn't go up against people like Leon or Aria and unlike Adagio we lost to Gabby while she won. With those terms, Adagio is stronger than me as well and I don't know if I can even put up a challenge against Aria. Maybe me making it to the Semi-Finals was just a fluke maybe I was just lucky." Sonata put her knees to her chest as small tears started to come to her face.
Arctic then went over to her. "Sonata don't cry and don't say that. You took on many strong opponents, you beat people like Dean and Athena. You beat Valex and even Frizzle. You didn't beat any of them out of luck but out of skill and the bond you have with Spryzen. Spryzen believes in you and you should believe in yourself."
Sonata then looked up at him. "But Adagio and Aria have Hyper-Flux and Dark-Flux and they have that super cool power-up ability. Yet here I am the only one who's yet to do something like that."
"Sonata you're not the only one who feels that way. How about everyone else? Leon, Phoebe, Dean, Derek, Athena, and Bael, too don't have the ability of Hyper-Flux or Dark-Flux. Sure yes, your sisters have unlocked new profound powers before you but I'm sure Adagio or Aria would have felt the same if they were the last ones to get their powers. I'm sure your powers will come one day, I think you and Spryzen are on a breakthrough to gain your powers you just need that extra push. With a bit of time, patience, and training, you and Spryzen will acquire your powers." Arctic told her.
Sonata looked up at Arctic and then down at Spryzen. She smiled and started to wipe the tears from her eyes. "Here I am being selfish when there are others going through the same pain as me. I'm sorry Arctic, and I'm sorry to you too Spryzen. I made a promise to Spryzen that I would make it the strongest Bey the world had ever seen and I plan on making that promise come true one day. But before that we'll learn our powers just like Adagio and Aria, one day we'll shine brightly from Hyper-Flux too!" Sonata said as she looked at Spryzen.
Arctic then thought about it. "I don't know Sonata. Your sisters have shown new powers, Adagio with Hyper-Flux and Aria with Dark-Flux, and let's not forget about Gabby and her Superior-Flux, you might just show off a new kind of Flux we've yet to see! You and Spryzen totally have what it takes to create your very own type of Flux."
Sonata looks at Arctic and then at Spryzen. "Our very own type of Flux you say. What do you think of that Spryzen? Do you want to try to create our own type of Flux? One that's stronger than Aria's, Adagio's, and Gabby's?" Spryzen shined and Sonata smiled. "I guess that answers my question. Alright, me and Spryzen will create our very own Flux if it's the last thing we do!"
Arctic smiled. "Nice. Keeping goals for yourself is a good way of pushing you and your Bey to your limits. And if you're ever stuck on what to do just know I'll always be here to help you out. I'm here for all of you girls, you three are like my family like my little sisters at this point. You and me are family even though we aren't by blood. You can come to me for anything not just about Blading advice."
When Arctic said you're like my sister Sonata felt a little hurt. Why? She wasn't quite sure, but she smiled knowing Arctic cared that much about her and her sisters.
"Thank you, Arctic. You've been such a big help to not only me but to my sisters as well. Because of you we've gotten stronger, Adagio may not have said it but she wouldn't have been able to become Champion without your help. The same goes for Adagio and Aria, I would've never of made it to the Semi-Finals without your help and Aria wouldn't have gotten as strong had it not been for you. You play a part in our improvement whether or not you believe it. So thank you... for everything." Sonata then went up to Arctic and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Oh, u-uh, your w-welcome." Arctic said as he blushed.
"Y-yeah... w-well see you l-later!" Sonata said as she walked away.
Night finally arrived and the Dazzlings were laying down on their beds thinking about the day they had, had. This Valentine's Day had to be the best the Dazzlings had ever had. At the time they weren't thinking about the danger that was around the corner all they were thinking was about another amazing Valentine's Day for the following years to come.
