My Little Pokémon

The Great Black Fire of Ponyville

Equestria. Ponyville. The Pokemon House. Afternoon.

Over at the Pokemon House, Fluttershy was feeding all of the Pokemon there. It was lunchtime. Fluttershy and every Pokemon within the Pokemon House weren't expecting any visitors now. Neither were they aware of what was occurring within Ponyville. Then again, almost everypony wasn't aware.

Ghetsis, still in Ash's body, was arriving at the Pokemon House. For him to arrive here, there were two reasons. To steal the magic that Fluttershy had while also hoping to catch some new Pokemon he could find some use for. And he desperately needed some after Cold Cot manage to sap away an impressive amount.

"Scorbunny!" Scorbunny and Angel were currently fighting over the same biscuit, pulling it back and forth. This biscuit must've been extraordinarily delicious for them to fight over it.

"You can both share either way." Fluttershy went up to them as she used her wing to cut the biscuit in half. That was some impressive wing strength for her to do that.

After slicing it in half, they could now have one side respectively. It was good enough for them but they would've preferred the full thing instead. As they started eating, at the same time, Ghetsis was getting closer.

But not without someone walking up to him. Earlier, Rarity told Sweetie Belle she would speak with Ash after the shout. Poor Rarity, much like everypony else in Ponyville is unaware of who was truly here. It certainly wasn't Ash.

"Ash. A moment please." Rarity said, walking up to him.

"I'm busy." Ghetsis replied, walking past him. He clearly wasn't up for more discussion as he needed to get back in motion after what Cold Colt had done.

"Just for a bit. It's about Sweetie Belle and the others." But Rarity persisted in trying to have a chat with him. "I know you must've been bothered or stressed out, but, yelling at them seems-"

"I don't care right now." Ghetsis put his hand on his face before speedwalking. "Leave me be." And with that sentence, he gave a demanding tone. And Rarity could tell as she didn't take too kindly to it.

"Ah. Not even for a bit? What's with you?" Rarity raised her tone, causing Ghetsis to turn his head. "First you yell at the Cutie Mark Crusaders and now your exuding this attitude out. This isn't you, Ash."

"You're right about that." Ghetsis said to himself, knowing that he certainly wasn't Ash. "And get over it. Children need a good yelling too here and there."

"Ah!" Rarity gasped, shocked by Ash's response. She narrowed her eyes before puffing her cheeks and scoffing. "Rude!"

"What's going on here?" Hearing the conversation first was Audino as she and Fluttershy had shown up. They were close to the Pokemon House after all. Ghetsis immediately turned to Fluttershy as he wanted magic from her. Plus Rarity too. He hadn't forgotten about her and the rest of Ash's friends. "Ash? Rarity?"

"Audino?"

"I-It's fine, Fluttershy." Rarity sighed. "Ash and I are just having a less-than-stellar chat. And frankly, I'm willing to leave it."

"Oh. Well, what's wrong?" Fluttershy asked. "Did something happen between you two?"

"Nothing." Ghetsis groaned as he was looking for the right moment to steal their magic. The main problem was Audino and her excellent hearing. The only way to get past Audino's hearing capabilities is by drowning it out with an array of sounds. Unfortunately, Ghetsis wasn't in the heart of Ponyville right now to make that work. But he was close to the Pokemon House.

"Oh, it's something alright." Rarity stepped in front of Ghetsis. There was some slight unfinished business and answers that Rarity demanded. Fried or not, she put the feelings of her little sister above everything else. Ghetsis then glared Rarity in the eyes as they entered a stare-down.

The air was tense as Audino could hear how the wind was changing because of it. Fluttershy as well along with a few other Pokemon nearby.

"Oh my." Fluttershy gulped. Ghetsis was still searching for that moment to strike. He wasn't too juiced with magic thanks to what Cold Colt did, so he had to use his magic less frequently and rely on tricks that he could still perform.

"What does it matter to you, anyway?!" Ghetsis questioned Rarity before allowing small shadows to descend from his fingertips silently. The shadows then started blending in with everyone else's shadows.

The corrupted shadow then moved along, becoming one with the shades that the trees gave off. Ghetsis had a plan to steal their magic without looking too obvious.

"It matters to me!" Rarity exclaimed. "Especially when it involves my friends and family! I'm upset but I want to help my friends at all costs!" She poured her heart into those words. And Ghetsis, aiming to make Ash's life worse, found a good opportunity to give a shocking rebuttal.

"Then in that case, maybe you should reconsider your friends. Or maybe I should reconsider." And after saying that, Rarity froze with shock while Fluttershy put her wings over her mouth. Ghetsis had them right where he wanted them to. A response that would taint the real Ash.

"A-Ash. You can't say-" Fluttershy tried reasoning with Ghetsis, only for Rarity to stop her.

"Leave it, Fluttershy." Rarity lowered her tone before turning around. She was now going to leave out of disappointment and shock. "You can forget about your future clothes, Ash. I'm-"

And right as she would give her parting words to Ghetsis, the shadows had acted out. Since the Pokemon House is surrounded by an acre, thanks to Fluttershy's cottage and current living conditions, that means it was prone to fire. Or in this case, black fire.

The shadows that Ghetsis made had transformed into his signature black flames. The first patch of grass it came into contact with allowed the flames to spark and begin the one thing that could distract Fluttershy and Rarity.

A forest fire. A massive one too. The trees and grass had instantly been consumed and coated by black flames that started roaring. And they even let out a giant roar that caused the flames to rise. High enough for Fluttershy and Rarity to notice.

"A forest fire?!" Fluttershy gasped, seeing the raging black flames as they had spread faster than even the deadliest of wildfires. Fluttershy knew that the Pokemon over at the Pokemon House were in danger due to how close it was.

Ghetsis gazed at the flames with a smirk as Fluttershy flew over to the scene. Rarity also had the urge to help. Fluttershy was her friend after all. But as Rarity ran off, she looked behind to see that Ash wasn't following.

"Ash!" Rarity called out. "Come on!" BUt Ghetsis didn't reply. Instead, he stood there, walking off and not saying a word. As if Rarity couldn't be more surprised. "Fine then Go along! Some friend you are!" Rarity went off to help Fluttershy stop this wildfire. She felt heartbroken that a supposed friend of hers would reject this. Everything she saw was so unlike Ash.

"Good." Ghetsis smiled as his plan was going into full motion. "That should keep them distracted for long. I won't just take your magic...I'll destroy everything around you and this entire world gradually."

Ghetsis then started moving, waiting to sap the magic from them while they were going to be occupied by the flames. And hopefully, after taking their magic, Ghetsis was hoping to see them consumed by the flames eventually. He wanted all of Ash's friends out of the equation after he had some of their magic to keep for himself.

Unova Region. The White Ruins. Underground. Afternoon.

And speaking of taking his friends out of the equation, the Golurk below began attacking Espeon, Starlight, Cold Colt and Hatterene. Ghetsis already knew they could be hostile.

"Golurk" The two Golurk swung their arms, breaking parts of the walls of this underground as they were both targeting Espeon and Hatterene. Cold Colt had his Cubchoo out considering the Golurk were Ground-Types.

"Espeon!" Espeon swiftly jumped over the arm swing of Golurk's Dynamic Punch while also using Shadow Ball. She opened her mouth, hurling a blob of shadows forward. The first Golurk was knocked back by this super-effective hit.

"G-Gol!"

"Hatterene, use Dazzling Gleam!"

"Cubchoo, Frost Breath!"

"Hatterene!" In unison, a breath of chilling ice and rainbow rays of fairy magic were sent towards both Golurk at the same time. The rays battered them like pellets while Frost Breath wrapped around them with an icy force.

"Gol!"

"Now, use Psycho Cut!"

"Cubchoo, use Brine!"

"Cubchoo!" Cubchoo sneezed as he always does, releasing a stream of water from his nose. As for Hatterene, she swung her claw around, sending tearing blades of Psychic Energy.

"Golurk!" The Golurk were once again pushed back, especially from Brine. However, these Golurk were impressively durable, but that was to be expected. In response, the first Golurk had used Flash Cannon while the other used Gyro Ball.

Two Steel-Type moves that spelt bad news for Pokemon like Hatterene and Cubchoo who were fragile against it. The second Golurk started spinning while the other unleashed a silver beam of light energy from its hands.

"Oh!" Starlight gasped as she put a protective spell around her friends. Right on time as Flash Cannon struck the shield. Ripples passed through the shield. Pokemon moves still pose a threat against magic. And Gyro Ball especially, considering that it's stronger the slower the Pokemon is.

"Lurk!" The second Golurk crashed into the shield, making it tremble along with everyone inside of it. Starlight shuddered along with her horn, but she was able to keep the barrier intact.

However, after the second Golurk crashed into the barrier, it started using Hammer Arm along with the other one using Dynamic Punch. They both simultaneously landed the powerful Fighting-Type moves onto the barrier at full force. Way more than what Starlight could handle as her barrier had broken.

And with the barrier shattering, everyone within it had been pushed back by the Golurk. They either tumbled or rolled on the ground. Either way, they had been harmed. And the force of those hits caused the underground to tremble as rocks started falling.

"Ow-ow-ow" Cold held his head as some rocks pelted his head. Fairly larger ones started falling, showing major signs of danger to them all.

But not to the Golurk as rocks were essentially minor tickles to them. They approached the group on the ground with one of them having Flash Cannon ready.

"We don't have to keep doing this forever" Starlight exclaimed. "Let's just find our way back and avoid trying to beat them!"

"Yeah, but that's a bit hard right now..." Cold spoke through his teeth. "I don't know where to teleport or where we are."

"Then I'll go." Starlight stood up. "You're in better shape than me anyway." To break out of here, Starlight aimed her magic upwards, shooting a beam at the top. It was deep underground so one blast of magic wouldn't do the trick. Some extra force was needed.

Golurk had sent out Flash Cannon, only for Espeon and Hatterene to combine their Dazzling Gleams, counteracting the Steel-Type move. After stopping the Flash Cannon, the other Golurk went to grab the two Psychic-Types with its massive hands.

"Cub...Choo!" Only for Cubchoo to use Frost Breath once more via a sneeze. And this time, when it flew over, it managed to freeze the hand of Golurk.

Starlight's magic kept breaking through the top of the underground as the other Golurk witnessed this. To prevent any escape, it had used Dynamic Punch on the top. And with just one hit, the entire underground rumbled with massive chunks of rocks large enough to crush a king-sized bed came falling.

Starlight gasped as the rocks rained down with their massive shadows casting over her and her friends. Once more, she used that large barrier to protect them, but it wouldn't last thanks to the Golurk as they had the means and power to break through it.

The barrier protected them from the rocks, but against the next incoming Hammer Arm, not so much. They were in a difficult spot. A spot that they could only escape from if they can manage to break through the underground.

"Ugh! This could go on forever!" Starlight groaned as Golurk smashed its arm onto her barrier. The barrier started cracking as the other Golurk joined in.

"Wait! I've got an idea!" Creativity struck the mind of the young unicorn. They had to find a way out of here and Cold Colt felt like he had discovered that way.

Equestria. Ponyville. The Pokemon House. Afternoon.

As for the Pokemon House, it was not a good sign. The black flames made by Ghetsis were so destructive and ferocious that not even Water-Type moves could keep them at bay. They could extinguish them but the flames would instantly rebirth and continue to spread with greater malice.

And what's worse, the flames were starting to reach Ponyville as well. Very rapidly with little to stop it. Fluttershy rounded up all the Water-Type Pokemon she could find, only for them to struggle to stop these black flames. Rarity's Milotic couldn't put it out either. She even had her Ampharos and Lopunny out for his. Her Leavanny were all the way back at Carousel Boutique, doing their job and unaware of the incoming flames.

"Why won't they go out?!" Fluttershy whimpered whilst moving back. "They keep coming back every single time!"

"These eternal flames seem to burn on forever!" Zecora said as she and Team Rocket were trying their best as well. "If we can't find a way to neutralize it, then this will be a pointless endeavour!"

"Worse! Look!" James pointed ahead, aiming his finger at Ponyville in the distance. Since the flames kept on burning with barely anything being able to properly slow it down, they had eventually reached Ponyville. And it was too late to stop the spread.

"Pheromosa!" Rarity then turned to her tall partner.

"Pheromosa?"

"Run and get everypony out of there as soon as you can!" Rarity ordered, showing Pheromosa the trail of destruction from the black trails. The trail was so great that many beautiful patches of grass had been wiped out along with trees withering away. And the same might be said for Ponyville. "Milotic! Help her!"

"Mosa!" Pheromosa and Milotic nodded as the Lissome Pokemon picked Milotic up. Using her incredible speed, she had zoomed off to save as many citizens as she could. Hopefully in time as the black flames were just as swift as her.

And watching those swift movements, seeing the Lissome Pokemon carry the Tender Pokemon towards Ponyville was Ghetsis. Truthfully, Ghetsis wasn't aiming for a scenario like this so soon. But thanks to Cold Colt, his plans have been accelerated.

He lurked within the shadows, watching the Pokemon try their best to take out the flames. And the Pokemon that were too afraid were being kept at a safe distance. But even that safe distance could vanish with these continuing flames. Fluttershy watched as the exclusive areas for each Pokemon Type and their preferences were being damaged and incinerated by these flames. All that hard work was vanishing before her eyes. But she wouldn't let all of it fade away as every Pokemon did their best.

But as everyone was distracted, now was the time for some magic absorption. He was aiming for both Fluttershy and Rarity. Ghetsis had used a ton of magic for those shadows to summon this fierce fire.

He was already running low on it, so he needed some time to recharge. But he still had some to spare either way. He used the remainder of his magic to manipulate the shadows of Rarity and Fluttershy. One of the few tricks he has that does not require too much magic. After manipulating their shadows, he managed to make them all sink.

"W-What is this?!" Rarity gasped as her body was sinking through. She held her hoof out, trying to escape, only for her next words to be cut off once she was fully through.

"Ampha!" Ampharos and Lopunny gasped as they saw their trainer vanish. Too late to grab her as it had happened out of nowhere. But Fluttershy was delayed as she had yet to sink through.

"Dino! Audino!" Audino went up to Fluttershy, grabbing her hoof as she tried to pull her out.

"Audi!" Fluttershy cried out as Chikorita used her vines to grab Fluttershy. Krookodile joined in, adding his strength into the mix. Scorbunny and Angel chimed in as well.

Ghetsis growled as his grip on Fluttershy was being resisted by the combined force of these Pokemon and a single critter. He wished that he had more magic to pull her through. But only Rarity was successfully caught. Ghetsis decided to release the shadow grip on Fluttershy, settling for Rarity for now.

"Oh!" Fluttershy gasped as her friends had successfully pulled her out. They fell on their backs with Fluttershy landing on Audino's stomach. However, it was not all well. Rarity had been taken. "Rarity! Rarity!"

Speaking of Rarity, Ghetsis made her rise from the shadows. As Rarity ascended, she had shadows wrapped around her to make her immobile. Ghetsis felt himself incredibly low, barely having any magic to manipulate more shadows.

"Ash!" Rarity bellowed before witnessing Ash beside her. "W-What's gotten into-" But Ghetsis didn't want any noise. Not with Audino as a threat. He made the shadows wrap around Rarity's mouth to silence her.

"Quiet. Unicorn magic should be healthy enough to get me back on my feet." Ghetsis said before approaching Rarity. Rarity tried breaking free with her magic as her horn was glowing. Her aim was to try and expel these shadows if she could while also wriggling.

But that wouldn't come to pass as Ghetsis grabbed onto her horn. After grabbing onto her horn, he allowed his Dark Aura to flow through. He took a deep breath as the unicorn magic within Rarity was being passed into him. As for Rarity, she was experiencing a horrible feeling from this. This was much worse than what Tirek had done to her. Rarity could not scream at all for help as it felt like she was being pulled by a powerful gravitational orbit.

Ghetsis' eyes started flashing after gathering the magic. He felt himself being rejuvenated from this. Granted, Rarity's magic wasn't stellar but it was enough. Rarity's eyes then went white from having a majority of her magic absorbed. So much so that she fainted from it. Ghetsis breathed once more before letting go of Rarity.

"Hah..." Ghetsis exhaled before standing upright. Rarity fell to the ground with the shadows separating from her. She was unresponsive as Ghetsis sat down, taking this all in. "I wouldn't have to go through extra steps if it wasn't for that brat. But, nothing wrong with regaining. At least one of these meddlesome friends will be lost."

Ghetsis then stood above the fainted Rarity with his shadow casting. The black flames reached here, threatening to burn this part of the forest down until it was nothing but ash in the wind. Ghetsis knew it wasn't safe for him to be here, even around his own flames.

He immediately sunk into the shadows as the flames consumed everything. Rarity was unable to get away from it due to her fainted status. Pheromosa, Milotic and Ampharos were busy trying to save everyone from their flames.

But it would seem as if their own trainer would be forgotten, lost to these ebony sparks. Rarity's last moments, without her knowledge, could be on this very spot with no one left to find her. Except not.

"Braviary, Superpower!"

"Bravi!" Soaring above the skies and getting a good view of the area was Rainbow Dash's Braviary. The Valiant Pokemon came flying in, flapping his wings while covering them with Superpower. He flapped his wings, creating a wind pressure strong enough to blow the flames back for a while.

Just enough time for Rainbow Dash to swoop in and pick up Rarity from the ground. It was wonderful that Rainbow Dash and other pegasi along with their airborne Pokemon could watch over from above. And of course, Rainbow Dash would watch out for her friends.

"Rarity! Are you okay?!" Rainbow Dash asked. But Rarity was still unconscious at the moment. Having so much magic taken from her after all. Rainbow Dash then hovered above the skies with her partner, watching as the flames continued. "How'd this happen?"

The roofs of homes were being torn apart along with benches being wiped out in an instant. Everypony started running or flying for their lives as their Pokemon tried fending off the flames. Those that could barely escape were helped by Pheromosa's speed.

Homes were being attacked by these flames, only for the trainers to try and push the black flames away from destroying their homes. Aria had her Brionne use Hydro Pump, some trainers tried using Rock-Type moves to block out the flames. Some even tried Flying-Types, hoping for success. Everyone was doing their best.

Mayor Maer instructed her citizens to either stay far distances or try different methods to take out the flames. The little foals were kept as far away from the flames as possible, while their Pokemon tried stopping the black flames

And Ghetsis watched, witnessing the carnage that he had created. But even so, he wasn't satisfied. Ghetsis still needed magic, starving for it. He would try and take everyone's magic if he can.

The Human World. Out in the forest. Afternoon.

"Right there!" Ash pointed ahead whilst running with Twilight. After moving through this forest, they had spotted the gateway that led to Eindoak Town. "That's gonna be a safe way home!"

"Wait, Ash!" Twilight cried out. "Shouldn't we try and have Manaphy use Heart Swap on you first?! I mean if you head back there and show yourself, so much panic is going to go through"£

"Yeah. I guess that would be the best option." Ash nodded before closing his eyes, thinking about Pikachu and the others. "Sorry, Pikachu. Everyone. Just wait for me a bit longer."

"Hold on." Twilight paused for a moment along with Ash. She stood in front of him, having an idea. "I've got something that'll give us an advantage. Against Ghetsis. Hold still for a moment, Ash."

"Huh?"

"Absol, Dark Pulse!"

"Ab...Sol!" Suddenly, Absol struck Ash in the stomach with Dark Pulse, causing him to stagger and almost fall back.

"Ow!" Ash cried out. "What'd you do that for?"

"Sorry. Had to weaken him." Twilight smiled as Ash laughed nervously, After their laugh, they jumped through the gateway, hoping to make it in time.

Little did they know, Ponyville was being attacked by a flame that started from the smallest shadow. And if it was not stopped, it would move across Equestria with seemingly no end in sight. Everyone was in danger right now. And just as Lucien predicted, everything would be thrown off because of this body swap. And it indeed was as the journey continues.

Chapter 584 End.
