--Flashback--
A cart of candy apples were being wheeled around by appleblossom from the apple family and a 5 year old silverwing's stomach growled as he watched her staring at the caramel apples and saw all types of creatures going up paying 4 bits for one of them and he knew he didn't have money so he ran through the line and stole two caramel apples.
"Hey! You gotta pay for those you thief!", but appleblossom stopped herself and saw that it was a kid and put up a close sign and called her aunt applejack.
--Few years later--
A 10 year old flarewing was in dragon lands trying to fit in but they despised him but he didn't care as long as he had a home until a fateful day.
"It is weak, just like you dragon lord ember you allow weaklings into our den and those ponies before not to--", a dragon was chastising ember before being tackled to the ground by the dragon lord ember and was held down as the dragon lord was angry at her subject trying to chastise her.
"HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR DRAGON LORD THAT WAY. ANY CREATURE I SAY IS OUR ALLY OR GETS TO LIVE HERE IS MY CHOICE AND NO CREATURE IS WEAK IN DRAGON LANDS", Ember shouted which scared the dragon so much she dropped the baby dragon she was referring to as "weak".
Only for silverwing to catch the egg and flying it to ember but the look in her eyes told him to take the egg and leave as silverwing flew to the edge of dragon lands but was stopped by garble who shook his head at the young hippogriff. "Those feelings will get you killed and that kid most definitely", grable said leaning against a rock but silverwing knew the dragon was right so while he raised the egg he was leaving his emotions behind so he could never feel again.
