Nightmare Night

Nightmare Night

Like most of Equestria, the town of Poofquestria loved to celebrate a number of time worn traditions and holidays, one of the most popular being the holiday known as Nightmare Night. The entire town had been done up in lights and spooky decorations to fit the mood as ponies were dressed up in some manner of costume. Everywhere you looked you saw ghosts and goblins, witches and werewolves, ninjas and nannies, and just about every kind of costume you could possibly imagine were all on display.

And, in theme with the town’s unique founding principals, every costumed pony waddled rather than ran thanks to the large, poofy diapers they were all wearing with their costume. Obviously no pony minded since the sight of such puffy diapers were a common normality in the town, and for many the diapers served to prolong the fun of trick-or-treating well into the late hours of the night, as well as protect some ponies from certain “accidents” that may occur from sudden spooks and scares. Plenty of ponies would leave their homes in a fresh diaper, only to return in need of a change by the end of the night, another normal occurrence in this unusual town.

For this night’s tale, let us follow a small group of friends as they enjoy the festivities, shall we?

“I love Nightmare Night!” shouted an earth pony mare with a light orange coat and pink mane named Cinnamon Sings as she happily munched on a candy bar. Her costume was of a maid, the skirt purposely designed to be as short as possible to show off as much of her pink, heart speckled diaper. “The candy, the costumes, the scares, the candy—“

“You said candy already,” remarked Brick Mane, the blue unicorn stallion walking just behind her. He was dressed as a dragon as his costume, the large bulk around his plot the only indication of his diapered status as the costume covered him completely.

(In truth, Brisk Mane had been too lazy to figure out a costume in time, so he had settled on wearing one of his favourite onesies instead. He would deny it if you asked him, though…)

“Well, that’s just because the candy is one of my favourite parts!” As if to emphasize this, Cinnamon reached into her candy bag and pulled out a lollipop, tearing off the wrapping before popping it into her mouth. “I mean, how can you go wrong with free candy?”

Brisk said nothing back as he followed behind her, carrying his own candy filled bag over his shoulder.

“Cinnamon!" whined the light green pegasus mare lagging behind at the back of their little group. The mare, named Gentle Rain, was dressed as a typical ghost, draped in a white sheet with two eye holes cut out of the front so she could see, and two more cut out the sides for her wings. “You promised we’d go to the haunted maze soon!’

“And we will, just as soon as we’re done hitting every house in town.” Reaching into her candy bag again, this time Cinnamon pulled out a carefully planned map of the town, with the best route to hit every house plotted out in advance. “At our current rate, we should be done in another hour or so…”

“Cinnamon!” Gentle whined again.

“Alright, fine!” Cinnamon said with a huff as she stuffed her map back into her bag. “We’ll go to the silly maze for a bit, and then we’ll hit the remaining houses. Alright?”

“Yay!” Gentle squeed, clapping her front hooves happily. “Thanks, Cinnamon!”

Cinnamon just sighed, unhappy with needing to delay her carefully planned candy route for even a moment. “Why are you in such a hurry anyway? You don’t need a change already, do you?”

“Nope!” Gentle replied, shaking her head.

“Really?” Grinning, Cinnamon waddled up to Gentle. “Then you won’t mind if I… take a peek!” Lightning fast, Cinnamon grabbed the edge of the sheet Gentle was wearing and lifted it up, revealing her orange, pumpkin themed diapers for all to see. Pressing a hoof into the thick padding, she felt around for a minute before remaking, “Dry, for now.” As she pulled the sheet back down over Gentle’s rear, she muttered, “You and your seasonal diapers, Gentle…”

“They’re cute! And festive!” Gentle said in her defence.

Brisk just giggled to himself as Cinnamon and his girlfriend continued to bicker as per usual.

“Alright then, let’s get going and get this over with so we can go back to getting free candy!” Cinnamon announced as the trio set off for the hedge maze set up near the edge of town.

Before long, the group stood outside of the entrance to the maze, which had been done up in a large variety of scary decorations such as ghoulish looking pumpkins, plastic skeletons reaching out their bony hooves as if ready to snatch you up at a moments, notice, coffins with dry ice smoke billowing out of them, and even a massive statue of the terrifying Nightmare Moon, rearing up with her wings spread wide as if she was preparing to gobble up any pony who dared to cross her path. Placed in front of the statue was a chest with a sign that read “Offerings to Nightmare Moon”.

“Welcome, travellers!” Proclaimed an earth pony stallion standing directly in front of the entrance to the maze while dressed as a warlock as the three approached. “Are you brave enough to enter the dread Haunted Maze, where not even your terrified screams will be able to escape?”

Despite her love of everything scary, Gentle was still a giant scaredy-cat, as she clung to Brisk like one would hug a stuffed animal they knew would protect them from the monsters. Brisk didn’t seem to mind though, following behind Cinnamon as she walked up to the stallion.

Cinnamon rolled her eyes at the cheesy performance. “Sure, whatever. Just move aside and let us in already.”

“Hold, for there is a toll to enter this accursed place!” The stallion announced as he pointed at the chest near the Nightmare Moon statue. “All that is required to enter is an offering so that Nightmare Moon will be satiated for another year. One piece of candy is all it takes.”

Cinnamon hissed, not wanting to part with her hard earned candy so easily. Before she could say a word though, Brisk had already placed a hoof over her mouth to silence the less than family friendly words she was about to utter.

“Come on, Cinnamon. The sooner we pay the toll, the sooner we can get even more candy to replace it, alright?”

Grumbling, Cinnamon reluctantly pulled out a toffee from her bag and dropped it into the chest, the other two ponies doing the same. Only then did the warlock step aside, allowing them entry into the maze.

“This better be worth it…” Cinnamon muttered as the three ventured further and further into the maze. They could hear the screams of other ponies already lost somewhere deep within the maze, as well as other ghoulish sounds that contributed to blanketing the maze in a haunting atmosphere.

Gentle trembled like a leaf in the wind as she clung to Brisk, the normally unshakable stallion also starting to appear scared as they took turn after turn without any direction in mind. Cinnamon remained unflappable though as they walked, undeterred as ponies dressed as skeletons, mummies, and zombies jumped out at random intervals, scaring her two companions almost every time.

If you listened closely, you could hear the quiet hiss as at least one of them soak their diaper in fright, and Cinnamon was more than certain that Gentle would be in desperate need of a change by the time they reached the end.

As they turned another corner, the trio stopped in their tracks as they hit a dead end. Groaning, Cinnamon turned around to face her trembling friends. “Come on, let’s find another way out—“

She was cut off by a loud yell of fear from both Gentle and Brisk, who both immediately turned tail and ran back the way they came. With a huff, she turned around to face what had spooked the pair so badly.

Poking out of the wall of the hedge maze, Nightmare Moon towered menacingly over Cinnamon, the alicorn licking her lips as she flashed her large fans. “Oooh, what a tasty morsel I have found!”

Cinnamon just rolled her eyes. “Look, I get that you’re supposed to be ‘scary’, but can we just drop the act?” Slowly approaching the fake Nightmare Moon, Cinnamon reached a hoof out to de-mask the mare. “Obviously none of this is—“

Instead of touching fabric, her hoof slipped through the figure like it was nothing.

“… Real?” Looking up at the looming Nightmare Moon, Cinnamon could finally see that the figure was see-through, as the spectre continued to loom over her. “Uh…”

RWAAAAR!”

“Eek!” Without a second thought, Cinnamon turned tail and ran blindly through the maze, not even sparing a moment to see whether or not the spectre was even chasing her or not. Turn after turn she barrelled down, desperately searching for the exit as her heart hammered away in her chest.

After what felt like forever, Cinnamon finally spotted the exit nearby and ran as fast as her legs could carry her, sliding to a stop just outside the exit. Gasping for breath, Cinnamon plopped her padded rear onto the ground before flopping backwards onto her back with a sigh of relief.

And then she started to laugh, uncontrollably even as she lay there, letting her fear slowly leave her system.

“There you are!”

Glancing up, she spotted Gentle and Brisk just exiting the maze. “We couldn’t find you after that Nightmare Moon appeared,” Brisk said, “so we started getting worried. Are you alright?”

“I’m… I’m fine,” Cinnamon muttered, giving a dismissive shake of her head. “You kidding? I wasn’t scared, this whole maze was so lame, just like I thought it would be!”

“Really?” Brisk remarked, grinning as he walked up and pressed a hoof against Cinnamon’s diaper and feeling it squish beneath his hoof. “Cause it looks like somepony got the piss scared out of them to me!”

Cinnamon’s face flushed bright red. “I… It’s not… It was already like this when we went in! You have to believe me!”

“Uh huh…” Brisk said, clearly not buying her story one bit. “I think we should get you changed first before we do any more trick-or-treating. Don’t want to risk you leaking by accident, right?”

Cinnamon grumbled some more as she refused to look Brisk in the eye, her face still flush from embarrassment.

“As a matter of fact…” Stepping back, Brisk snaked a hoof beneath the back of Gentle’s costume and pressed a hoof against her diaper as well, smiling as Gentle squeaked as her diaper too squished to the touch. “… I think both of you could use a fresh diaper change, right, Gentle?”

Despite blushing almost as red as Cinnamon, Gentle giggled as she reached up and planted a quick kiss on Brisk’s cheek. “As long as my big, strong dragon will be there to change me…”

Brisk chuckled as he nuzzled his girlfriend. “Of course, honey.”

“Hey, lovebirds!” Cinnamon shouted at the pair, already having stood back up and began to walk away during the pair’s mushy display. “Let’s go already! We’re burning the midnight oil!”

With no further delay, the three waddled off, two of them in desperate need of fresh diapers. As they did, they didn’t notice as the Warlock stallion from before stepped out from the shadows, his horn going dark again as he used his hat to cover it up once more. “Happy Nightmare Night.”

And so, the holiday would continue well into the night, with plenty of scares to leave many ponies in desperate need of dry diapers by night’s end. Just was the way in the unusual town of Poofquestria.
