Chapter 4: Stopping the Sirens
Spike, Dusk, Nyx and DJ Pon-3 were heading over towards the amphitheater where the Battle of the Bands finals were going to be held. And on stage, they saw Trixie and her band performing.
"How are we going to get to the stage?" Dusk asked. DJ Pon-3 put a hand on Dusk's shoulder and motioned a hand, telling them to follow her. They left the area just in time before the Dazzlings came up to the stage and started singing. They walked around the area and saw a door there. DJ Pon-3 then walked over to the door and opened it, where the Rainbooms, except for Fluttershy were laying on the ground in front of them. Spike then walked in.
"Spike!" Twilight said. Spike ran up to Twilight and the two nuzzled.
"Sorry I took so long," Spike said. "I had to find Dusk and Nyx and then someone to help us out with stopping the sirens, one who wasn't effected by their singing." Then the group saw DJ Pon-3, Dusk and Nyx.
"Why isn't she under their spell?" Twilight asked.
"Never takes off her headphones," Spike replied.
"Which is a good thing," Dusk said. "She must have the proper equipment for the instruments you all play." DJ Pon-3 gave a thumbs up to the group.
"Come on, y'all!" Applejack said. "Time to prove we've still got the magic of friendship inside us!"
"And there's only one way to do it!" Twilight said.
"We're getting the band back together?" Pinkie asked, leaning in.
"We're getting our band back together!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Whee!!" Pinkie shouted, raising her hands.
"Ooh, which version of the counter-spell are we going to play?" Rarity asked.
"I don't think it matters what song we play, as long as we play it together as friends," Twilight said, looking at Sunset, who responded with a smile.
"I know just the song," Rainbow Dash said. She then looked over at Fluttershy. "Fluttershy's written a really great one." That made Fluttershy smile really wide. Almost Pinkie Pie smile wide.
"We're about to save the world here," Applejack said. "Personally, I think we should do it in style. Rarity?"
"I thought you'd never ask!" Rarity said, pulling out a cart of clothing.
Dusk walked over towards Applejack and asked, "Did she have those in here the entire time?" That made Applejack shrug her shoulders.
The Rainbooms, Sunset, Dusk, Nyx and Spike arrived at the top of a hill outside of the amphitheater as the Dazzlings were singing their final performance song. The Rainbooms were wearing different outfits. Including Dusk and Nyx.
"How are we supposed to play over them from up here?" Rainbow Dash complained. Just then, a car horn went off. The group turned around and saw DJ Pon-3 driving up to the group. She then stopped the car, and then it started transforming.
"Whoa!" Dusk said. "That is so cool!"
The car had transformed into a DJ's station, where the Rainbooms can connect their instruments. The others were amazed at what happened.
Nyx was looking down at the Dazzlings. She then gasped and said, "Everyone! The Dazzlings! They're transforming!" The others looked down at the stage to see that the Dazzlings had grown pony ears, tails and some creepy looking wings.
"Alright, everyone," Twilight said. "Let's get playing."
Pinkie got behind the drums and she started tapping her drumsticks together, saying, "1... 2... 3... 4!" She then started playing the drums loudly, getting the attention of everyone in the amphitheater. As the Rainbooms were playing, the group started to Pony Up.
Adagio smirked and said, "So the Rainbooms want to turn this into a real Battle of the Bands? Then let's battle!"
The two groups started using their magic to fight each other. Although, the Rainbooms had the upper hand at first, but then the Dazzlings took back control, and the Rainbooms fell to the ground. The microphone that Twilight was holding fell out of her grip and went over to Sunset Shimmer, Spike, Dusk and Nyx.
Sunset then picked up the microphone and looked over at the group.
"Sunset Shimmer, we need you!" Twilight called out. "Dusk, Nyx, you two as well!"
Sunset was unsure of herself, but then she got some confidence. She then walked in front of the Rainbooms, took off her jacket, and stood tall. Dusk and Nyx stood beside her. Sunset then started singing.
"You're never gonna bring me down... You're never gonna break this part of me..."
Then Dusk and Nyx came in with their singing.
"My friends are here to bring me 'round... Not singing just for popularity..."
Sunset was helping Twilight up to her feet. Twilight then joined in on the singing.
"We're here to let you know... That we won't let it go..."
Then the Rainbooms started singing together.
"Our music is a bomb and it's about to blow..."
That made a huge burst of magic head towards all the students of Canterlot, breaking the trance they were in. Twilight, Sunset, Dusk and Nyx sang together.
"And you can try to fight... But we have got the light of..."
Then the Rainbooms joined in.
"...Friendship on our side!"
The Dazzling started faltering in their singing as Sunset, Dusk and Nyx were ponying up. Sunset gained pony ears and a tail. Dusk and Nyx got the two, and their alicorn wings.
"Got the music in our hearts... We're here to blow this thing apart... And together, we will never... Be afraid of the dark... Here to sing our song out loud... Get you dancing with the crowd... As the music of our friendship... Survives, survives!"
Then a rainbow beam shot up from the Rainbooms and formed a clear alicorn in the sky. Then all of the students of Canterlot High, except for the Dazzlings, started singing together.
"Got the music in our hearts... We're here to blow this thing apart... And together, we will never... Be afraid of the dark... Here to sing our song out loud... Get you dancing with the crowd... As the music of our friendship... Survives, survives, survives!" When all of the students were singing together, the clear alicorn fired upon the Dazzling and the spiritual sirens. And the spiritual sirens were obliterated and the gems that the Dazzlings were wearing cracked apart and the music ended.
The Dazzlings recovered, but they had no magic. They looked down and saw their gems broken on the ground. They then picked them up and started singing. Too bad they were extremely off key. Then the students of Canterlot High started throwing fruit at them. Then the Dazzlings ran out of there.
The Rainbooms came onto the stage of the amphitheater and Sunset picked up a piece of the gems the Dazzlings had.
"You were right, Nyx," Sunset said. "They were so protective of these things."
"Without those pendants and the magic you brought here from Equestria, they're just three harmless teenage girls," Twilight said.
"Rainbooms rule!" came Flash's voice. Flash ran up to Twilight and hugged her. "That was amazing!" That made the others giggle at Flash hugging. Just then, Trixie came in between Twilight and Flash.
"You may have vanquished the Dazzlings," Trixie said, "but you will never have the amazing, show-stopping ability of the Great and Powerful Trixie!" She then threw a smoke bomb at the ground and she vanished.
"She's gone!" Pinkie said as she and the others finished coughing. She then looked at the back of the amphitheater seats. "Oh, wait. There she is." Trixie was going over the back and she fell.
"Trixie's okay!" Trixie called out.
"You know, Twilight is going back to Equestria soon," Rainbow Dash said. She then looked over at Sunset. "The Rainbooms could really use someone to help Fluttershy on backup vocals." Sunset then looked over and saw an electric guitar, picked it up and played a guitar riff.
"I also play guitar," Sunset said to the group. The others were awestruck by Sunset's playing. Especially Rainbow Dash.
"We'll see," Rainbow Dash said.
Dusk then asked, "Did you take guitar classes since you first came here?"
"Yeah," Sunset said. "I had to learn many things when I was living in this world. Might as well do something for my own entertainment." Then they all went into a group hug.
The Rainbooms were standing in front of the portal leading back to Equestria.
"Sure wish you could stay longer," Applejack said.
"Me too," Twilight said. "But I have responsibilities in Equestria that I have to get back to." Pinkie wasn't paying attention. She was sticking her head into the portal. Then her head came out, her hair more messier than it already was. "Its citizens need me. But now I can go through the portal whenever I need to. This isn't goodbye. It's just goodbye 'til next time." She then looked down at Spike, Dusk and Nyx. "Ready?"
"Ready!" Spike said.
"At least now we can come back anytime," Dusk said. "I still can't believe there's still a way for me to be human again. Even if it is temporary."
"Can we go home now?" Nyx asked.
"Alright, Nyx," Twilight said. "Let's go." Then the four went into the portal.
Somewhere in the city, Sci-Twi was reading a chart from a seismograph. She then put it onto a pin board that had something to do with Canterlot High.
"No doubt about it, Spike," Sci-Twi said. "There's definitely something strange going on at that school..." Her dog, Spike, was busy playing with a dog toy. When he was being talked to, he just responded with a bark. Just then, there was a knocking on the door. "Come in!"
Then Dusk's counterpart came in and said, "Hey, Twilight. Breakfast is ready."
Sci-Twi sighed and said, "Alright. I'll be down in a minute." She then looked back at the pin board after Dusk closed the door.
Meanwhile in Equestria, Dusk and Nyx walked into one room of the Castle of Friendship.
"Hey, Spike!" Dusk said. "Mom has breakfast ready." Then the two of them stopped and they saw Spike stuffing his mouth with dog treats. "Did you smuggle dog treats from the other dimension?!"
"How did you even do that?" Nyx asked.
Spike chuckled nervously and said, "I... might have put them into your backpack the night before while you were sleeping." He then looked around, then pointed a finger at the two and said, "Don't tell Twilight."
Dusk and Nyx then smirked.
