Chapter One: New World, New People.

Ahh. The small village of Ponyville. Such a nice day, isn't it? The sun is shining, everybody is relaxed, and happy. Everything seems to be just normal here.
No new occurrences here. Nope! Nothing, whatsoever. Not at all.

Though, behind a flower stand, there was a little.. white thing.
A little-- frog?

Yes. A little, white frog. Nobody that was a pony was here yet, so they thought it'd be okay if they just- stuck around for a while. After all- they're somewhere that's somewhat like the Surface! The Surface is big, and--...scary.

Infact, it might be scarier than the Underground. Instead of being trapped, you're suddenly- free, and in this big old world??

Sure, the Surface sounded nice, but it would've been nice to be eased into it! Not just thrown up and told "handle it on your own" by the universe!

The little frog monster sat, hunched, glancing up ever so often. Was anyone going to come to this nice establishment? The flowers are very pretty. They shouldn't just sit here to wilt.

Maybe you could do something for them? Yes.. yes, you can water the flowers! So they don't die! How smart of you!
They smile to themself at the splendid idea, and stand. They look around for anything that looks like a--

A watering can! Perfect! They hop over, and grab the can. They bite down on the handle, securing it in their mouth. Goodness, you almost feel like a.. a.. w-whatever these creatures are!

They build up some momentum, and leaps up to the counter top. They just barely hang on to the edge.
They scurry themselves up, and onto said counter.

" ..Hmmh. " They scan the area. The dirt roads are accompanied with the colorful horses that inhabit this part of the Surface.
Though, they question if it even.. is the Surface..?

Well, it’s certainly not the Underground. So, maybe it is.
They grasp the watering can with their paper white hands, and aim the spout towards the water. For a moment, they wait. And then.. the little monster realized something.

There was no water! Of course! How could have been so blind to this!
They carefully place the can down, and think. Where, mayhaps, could they fetch water from? Think, think, think..
Their personal thought-train was put to a halt, by a voice.

“ Huh? What’re you doing here, little guy? “
The Froggit paused, and turned around. Oh-! Goodness, this is awkward.

The horse blinked, a tiny smile pulling at her lips. The Froggit thought for a moment. What should they say? Should they even say anything at all? They eye the watering can, and grab onto it again. They hold it up in front of the colorful creature.

“ Oh? My- what’re gonna do with that? “
The Froggit aimed the spout towards the flowers. They blinked up at the horse, giving her a small [ribbit.]

“ ..Ohhh- I see. “ She brought a hoof to her chin. “ Hold on, let me just fill it with water. “ The kindly creature held her fingerless appendage out in front of the little monster. The Froggit carefully placed the can into the horse’s hoof. She backed up, and trotted to the wooden bucket of water she had brought along on her way here. She sat, gripping the can with both of her hooves, and scooped up as much liquid as she could. The monster watched, tilting their head to the side.

“ (..What’s your name?) “

“ -Wh- What..? “ She abruptly stopped, turning her head to the little frog. Did- Did it talk?

“ (I’m asking what your name is.) -Ribbit. “

“ ..It’s.. Daisy..? “ She stood, holding the watering can close to her chest. “ ..Do you have a name, little…. ummm.. frog..? “

“ (My name is Echo.) -Ribbit. “ The Froggit put a hand on her chest, smiling just a tiny bit. “ (It’s very nice to meet you, Daisy.) “

“ ..Echo..? “ Daisy blinked, trotting back over. She chuckled. “ Well, that’s a nice name..! Here. “ She places the can back onto the countertop. “ You can use this, if you’d like. “

“ (-Oh! Why, thank you, Miss Daisy.) “

“ It’s no issue, really. “

Echo thought to herself. Daisy is very kind. Though, she’s probably never seen a monster like herself before, so it must be odd. Echo took the can, and very-so-cautiously watered the flowers. They need a certain amount of water, it is best not to drown them.

Almost…

Almost…

And done! Echo’s job here, was complete. She felt very accomplished, as she let her control of the watering go. By that- she meant she just stopped. “ (I think they look good, don’t you?) -Ribbit. “

“ I think, they look pretty hydrated to me! “ Daisy nodded, beaming. “ Thank you, Echo. “

“ (It was no problem. Though, I think I must be going. There are many other places to explore! I must see it, don’t you think?) “ Echo puts a hand- of sorts- to their face. “ (Do you have any suggestions?) -Ribbit. “

Daisy thought for a moment, humming lowly. “ ..Hrmmm…-oh! Oh, there’s Fluttershy’s cottage! I’m sure she’d like you. And there’s- “

“ (Oh, thank you, thank you, Ms. Daisy! I shall be off!) “ The Froggit says, with triumph, hopping off of the counter, and began their journey! It was sure to be spectacular!

…Daisy blinked. Before speaking back up. “ …She- doesn’t know where to go, does she. “

…Goodness, they don’t know where to go.
Echo facepalms herself. What a fool! You’re a fool, you should have stayed to ask! She sighs, her hand resting on the ground. No matter. You, are a very capable creature.

Capable to ask some possibly friendly color-horse for directions, that is! You must not be wandering aimlessly. Echo begins her little hopping journey around. She doesn't know how big this place is, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue. She eyes around any bystanders she could ask about that cottage.

" ..(Hmm.) " She traveled by, wondering how she would approach. It was pleasant the first time, but she should still be willing to explain herself.

..Echo- paused, spotting something out of the corner of her eye. Her head turned, squinting at a--.. flower? A flower, between two houses. Strange.

She glanced to her sides. Maybe- she could investigate?

...Yes, that- sounds like a good idea.
