An Old Enemy

Chapter 5: An Old Enemy

We rush back to camp to find that everything was fine.

“The hell?” I say aloud.

“Oh you’re probably wondering about that explosion right?” Pinkie asked hopping in front of us.

“Uhh... Yeah.” Rainbow responded.

“You see Fluttershy was going to make pancakes for breakfast and I tried to help, but I wasn’t paying attention and I confused my party cannon for a mixing bowl again.”

“I want to ask so many questions about that explanation, but it’s you Pinkie so I really don’t have to.” I said.

“Well, at least we weren’t being ambushed.” The Princess said.

Right on cue in a case of dramatic irony, a rather small gargoyle landed right in the middle of our camp. It was probably only about 3 ½ feet tall. It was red, bald and wearing a breastplate. It made this horrible loud screech that made us all cover our ears. Then, out of nowhere serval more dropped out of the sky. Great.

Well, I must say gargoyles are much harder to fight than Dopple and Ganger, yet with them most of them were clones that vanished with a good hit. These are physical beings who are stronger and due to being bipedal creatures they’re more nimble. Plus they can fly and some can breath fire. So it takes much more than being punched in the face to defeat.

Oh yeah the stone gargoyle that was with them. Boy was he annoying. After I sliced the throat of one of his friends it grabbed me and lifted me up. I was able to think fast and swapped out a knife for a hammer and smashed it against his head, which shattered, but guess what, despite being head less it sill seemed to be alive. I was then thrown at a tree, but before impact I teleported back to right in front of him. I hit him in the chest with the hammer with crumbled to reveal a red gem that was giving off a glow. So I figure that this was some magically charged stone and what must be responsible for it being basically a living statue. So I wrapped my magic around the gem and ripped it out of the chest. The headless stone gargoyle then fell over back words landing on two unsuspecting regular gargoyles crushing them to death.

Suddenly I felt this metal collar wrap around my neck and then I was yanked out of the battlefield/camp sight and dragged across the ground by a chain. I tried teleporting, but my magic just got canceled out somehow and I couldn’t remove the collar.

After being dragged about fifty feet or so and stopped coughing from being practical strangled from all that, I look up to see the chain link being held by another stone gargoyle that looked exactly the same as the other one. Who just looked like what you’d expect, a gargoyle made of stone. It’s pretty self-explanatory.

To the right of me was a wooden prisoner’s cart that was being pulled by four changelings.

“Well it’s good to see you again Setali.” A familial voice called.

Then a tall figure stepped out of the shadows. He was a gargoyle as well. He was orange and had long black hair. He didn’t have wings and was wearing what looked like a straight jacket that had the sleeves torn off and a metal mask that covered his whole face except a pair of light green eyes that were full of hatred. “Remember me Mr. Disarmonia?” He asked.

“I-In-Inferno?!” I responded.

“Indeed.”

“How in the hay are you here? Last time I checked Princess Celestia had you thrown into Tartarus.”

“Oh she did. As to why I’m here... I wish I had a good explanation to that. I kinda just woke up in this universe yesterday. My best guess was because of that daughter of Celestia doing some universe hopping it made a gate way between the two universes and since I was trapped in the space between all realms for 1,300 years I must have some connection to them and was dragged along.”

I just looked at him confused.

“Okay I know it doesn’t make much sense, but that’s the best theory I could come up with. I mean most likely I’m far off, but for whatever reason why I fallowed you to this universe and I’m going to assist in you demise.”

I was then hit in the back of the head by the stone gargoyle and I fell to the ground before everything faded to black.

Author's Note

Okay I feel that I must applogize for the fact that a short chapter took almost a week to get out. I'm still having some writer's block right now. Also this may become the norm for time between chapters because school just started for me, so that might get in the way a bit. If season three comes on and I'm still working on this just bare with me.
