Episode 25: Rise Above the Storm! (Part 1)
The Mane 6 and all of the Freedom Fighters were in the Castle of Friendship, looking at the world map above the Cutie Map. Twilight was giving an angry look.
"So, Doctor Robotnik now has the Chaos Emeralds," Mutt said.
"Not all of them," MC said. "I still have one of them." He then held out the yellow Chaos Emerald. "We have a way to track where Doctor Robotnik and the Storm King are."
"But even with our combined strength, we're not going to be a match to the Storm King's power," Twilight said. "How are we going to stop him and Doctor Robotnik?"
"We call in reinforcements," Sonic said. "All of our friends we made along the way. Nicole, get in touch with our strongest allies." Then a list of heroes, Mobians and Equestrians, came up where the world map was.
The list of heroes included the Six Pillars, Stygian, the Young Six, Tempest Shadow, Olive the Rabbit, Rouge the Bat, Omega, Midpoint, Cozy Glow, Sonia, Manic, and Knuckles the Echidna.
"You wanted a war, Doctor Robotnik? You got one," MC said. "And we're going to end it."
Alex Lynol's ship, the Patriot Arrow, arrived and landed in front of the Castle of Friendship. Coming out of it were Alex Lynol, Cozy Glow, Olive the Rabbit, Rouge the Bat, Omega, Sonia, Manic and Knuckles. They all headed into the Castle.
"So, this is Equestria," Sonia said.
"Yeah," said Midpoint. "C'mon. We got to get to the Throne Room." Then they all headed in and came into the throne room of the Castle of Friendship, where the Mane 6, the Freedom Fighters, Shining Armor, Starlight Glimmer, Sunburst, Tempest Shadow, Trixie, the Six Pillars, Stygian and the Young Six were standing in.
"They're here," Rainbow Dash said.
"Good," Twilight said. "Now, we can get started on finding Doctor Robotnik and the Storm King."
"Do we really have to stop him like this?" Maria asked, getting nervous. "He's still my only relative."
"I know, Maria," Sally said, pulling Maria in for a hug. "But, for us to stop Doctor Robotnik, we have to take him down."
"Let's see where we have to go," Sonic said. MC then put the Chaos Emeralds in the center of the Cutie Map. Then the World Map reappeared, and it zoomed in at one spot. Then it showed the locations of the Chaos Emeralds, in six different places. "Okay. He split the Emeralds up. That's weird."
"Oh, no," Sally said. "That's not good."
"What? What is it?" Twilight asked.
"Nicole, place two straight lines connecting three Chaos Emeralds," Sally said. Then two lines came into view over the Chaos Emeralds, making one large X. "What does this look like to you?"
Most of them didn't know what it meant. But Midpoint, Tails, MC, Maria, Omega, Olive and Rotor told them, "Leylines."
"What are Leylines?" Twilight asked.
"They're like special landmarks that have special resonances around them," Tails said. "But if something gets supercharged there in those spots, something bad might happen."
"So that's why the Chaos Emeralds are in those spots," MC said. "There has to be some kind of generator or something in each location of those spots."
"Your highness!" came a guard's voice. The guards came in. "We just checked the room where the statue of Queen Chrysalis and Lord Tirek are located. It's gone!"
"He's got Equestrian villains on his side," Twilight said.
"Good thing Cozy Glow is now on our side," Sonic said. "Thanks to Alex Lynol."
"Looks like we're gonna have to split up into seven teams," MC said.
"Seven teams?" Shining Armor asked.
"Of course," Midpoint said. "Six teams to handle the trouble that's where the Chaos Emeralds are located, and one team to go up against the big boss, which is located in the center of the big X. Nicole, show us the location of that spot."
"Yes sir..." Nicole said, but when she tried saying Alex's name, the alarming noise came up, making everyone cover their ears.
"Sorry!" Midpoint said. "I forgot to turn that alarm off!" He then walked over to a panel and attached a cable from his left glove to it. The a holographic screen came from his left wrist and he started typing. "Alright, Nicole, say my name again."
"Yes, sir, Alex Lynol," Nicole said. "Now, as for the location of where the X is, it's right around Times Square."
"Alright, everyone," Sonic said. "We have to split into seven teams. I'll go with Twilight and her five friends, MC, and Maria." That made Maria go wide eyed.
"What?" Maria asked, surprised. "Why me?"
"We're going to need both the Dragoon Force and the Phoenix Flare if we're going to stop a turbocharged Storm King," Sonic replied. "Everyone else, choose your team."
"Yona would like to smash things!" Yona said, pounding her right fist to her left hand.
"Sounds like my kind of party," Knuckles said. "I'm in."
"Alright," MC said. "Omega, you and the strongest ones here go to where the gray Emerald is. Which is you, Knuckles, Yona, Rockhoof, Amy and Manic."
"Manic is a tactician," Omega said. "Of course he'll be able to help me shut down that generator."
"Those going after the light blue Emerald will be Sally, Bunnie, Ocellus, Starlight, and Mistmane," MC said. Sally nodded, the chosen few going into her group. "Next, going to get the blue one, Midpoint, Cozy Glow, Star Swirl, Stygian, Mutt, and Sandbar." The ones called got called into that group with Midpoint nodding. "The red one will consist of Olive, Cream and Cheese, Somnambula, Silverstream and Sonia." They all got into the group, and Olive nodded. "The Purple one will consist of Rotor, Antoine, Mage Meadowbrook, Smolder and Shining Armor." The ones chosen grouped up and Rotor nodded.
"That just leaves me with Rouge, Trixie, Sunburst, Tempest, Gallus and Flash Magnus to get the Green one," Tails said.
"Alright, everyone," Sonic said. "You know your groups, you know your locations. Let's get ready to move on out."
Meanwhile in New York City, Doctor Robotnik was finishing up the last generator in the last location, which was on top of Times Square, and he was smirking all the way.
"So, this is going to work?" came a voice. Doctor Robotnik turned around and saw the Storm King standing there, with his Staff of Sacanas.
"Oh, positive, your excellency," Doctor Robotnik said, bowing. "With this, we shall finally rule the world together, and no one to take us down. Not even those insignificant Freedom Fighters or those pathetic ponies."
"You better be right about this, Doctor!" the Storm King said. "I didn't get turned into Obsidian, broken apart, put back together, and reanimated just to lose to those beings again."
"Oh, don't worry," said Doctor Robotnik. "I've got some backup to help you with keeping the generators of this mega storm active. It would have been better if those foolish Freedom Fighters haven't swapped out one of the Chaos Emeralds with a fake copy."
"Good," the Storm King said. "I want everything to go as I plan to happen! Let's get this thing ready!"
Back in Equestria, the Mane 6, and all of the others who are joining in the Crusade were getting ready to head out. As they were loading up, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, minus Nyx because she was taken, were watching them. They wanted to go into the Spirit of Freedom, but then they were blocked by MC.
"And just where do you seven think you're going?" MC asked, looking at them.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders looked up at MC, nervously. But Joshua stood tall and said, "Nyx is my sister! I want to help her as best as I can."
"This isn't like all the other adventures you kids gotten yourselves into," MC said. "Last time you were around Doctor Robotnik, Joshua was almost Roboticized."
"What does that even mean?" Babs asked.
"Let's just say Bunnie's arm and legs weren't always metal," MC said.
"MC's right," Twilight's voice came. The Crusaders looked towards Twilight and she was walking up to the Crusaders. "This is the most dangerous mission we're going on, and we can't risk you all getting hurt."
"And we've already made an announcement to all of the ponies of Equestria and beyond to seal up all of their doors and windows," Sonic said. "With the Chaos Emeralds and the Storm King's power, we might have to face the mother of all storms."
"Get into the Castle," Twilight said. "And don't even think about using the portal to Knothole. We had to close it so you wouldn't use it to sneak to the United States without our supervision."
The Crusaders were about to argue, but Spike pushed them towards the Castle Doors, saying, "C'mon, Crusaders. Let the grown ups go."
"But Cozy Glow gets to go!" Sweetie Belle complained.
"Yeah, why is Cozy Glow going?" Twilight asked.
"Alex said with her experience with villains, it might give us an advantage on what to expect," Sonic replied. "Now, let's get going." Then they all headed into the individual ships, leaving Equestria, and heading West towards New York City.
Spike and the Crusaders watched the ships take off. Scootaloo then said, "I wish that we could help with saving Nyx and the other Princesses."
"Yeah, yer right 'bout that, Scoots," Apple Bloom added. "Nyx was always there fer us when she first came inta our club, it's time we be there fer her."
"But how are we gonna get there?" Twist asked.
"I have ta agree with Twist," Babs added. "We don't have a way ta get there."
"What are we going to do?" Dinky asked.
They were all thinking of ideas, but Spike admitted defeat and said, "You're right. Even we can't stay here and wait for things to blow over. We need to find a way to get to this place, New York City, without the others knowing. But how?"
What they didn't know was that someone came up from behind them and said, "Perhaps I could be of some assistance." They all looked back to see who was there and gasped.
In New York City, the heroes arrived there and landed at the Chelsea Piers. All of them got out and came together and got into their chosen groups.
"Alright, everyone," Sonic said. "You know where to go. Stick with your group. Time to go to those spots." Sonic then looked up and said, "Anyone got the feeling this is gonna end up similar to Ghostbusters?"
"I thought I was the only one," MC said. Then all seven groups headed out.
At one location, there was a mansion. Midpoint, Cozy Glow, Star Swirl, Stygian, Mutt, and Sandbar were heading towards it, but then someone called out to them.
"I'm sorry, people. But we're closed." The group looked towards who called out, and there stood a tour guide. "We're actually waiting for the Bomb Squad to arrive."
"We were informed about this by the President," Midpoint said. "It isn't a bomb. It's something build by Doctor Robotnik to create something that would made him and the Storm King rule the world with Iron Fists. We're going in to stop their plan."
The tour guide sighed and tossed the keys towards them, and Star Swirl caught the keys with his magic. The tour guide said, "Just be careful in there. You don't know what else is in there." The group nodded. Star Swirl handed Midpoint the keys, and Midpoint unlocked the door, and they all walked in.
At another location, which was a subway station, Sally, Bunnie, Ocellus, Starlight, and Mistmane arrived. People were gathered up at one end of the Subway Station.
"Alright, everyone!" Sally called out. "Out of the way! Heroes coming through!" The people moved out of the way. Ocellus was about to step on a rail but Bunnie grabbed her.
"Whoa! Easy there!" Bunnie said. "Ya don't wanna step on that rail, unless ya can handle 750 volts of electricity."
"Oh, thank you," Ocellus said.
At another location, which was at a theater place. Knuckles, Omega, Yona, Rockhoof, Amy and Manic went in. There was something on the stage.
"Everyone spread out," Amy said. "Omega, Manic, get to that machine."
"You got it, girl!" Manic said, making a clicking noise with his mouth, pointing at her with a forefinger and a thumb raised. Amy scoffed at Manic's attempt of a flirt. Manic and Omega then walked over towards the stage.
At another place, at the corner of 26th street and 6th avenue, Olive, Cream and Cheese, Somnambula, Silverstream and Sonia arrived. The group looked around.
"So where is that device?!" Sonia asked.
"It's gotta be close," Silverstream said.
Olive then taps on her cyber eye patch, and looked around. Something came in from below the apartment building. Olive smirked and said, "C'mon. We're going in there." Olive pointed at the apartment building.
Then at the Central Park Zoo, Rotor, Antoine, Mage Meadowbrook, Smolder and Shining Armor headed in, but they had to pay admission first. They all headed towards the southern part of the Zoo, looking around.
"Keep an eye out for that device," Rotor said. "It should be around here somewhere."
"It shouldn't be that hard to find something," Smolder said. She then started sniffing around. "Wait. I think I smell a gem!"
"Oh, that's good!" Shining Armor said. "She must be smelling the Chaos Emerald! Lead the way!"
Smolder then started running, the others following.
And over at Graffiti Kobra Museum, Tails, Rouge, Trixie, Sunburst, Tempest, Gallus and Flash Magnus headed in. The group looked around.
"How are we going to find something in a place that's nothing but art?" Gallus asked. "This place is so boring. How'd I get stuck with this bunch?"
"Oh, quiet, Gallus," Tails said. "Let's get down to the basement. That's probably where they stashed the device with the Chaos Emerald." Then they headed over to a stairwell.
And at the last location, Sonic, MC, Maria and the Mane 6 arrived.
"Now that you think about it, this place reminds me of Manehattan," Rarity said.
"Well, here, this is the island of Manhattan," MC said. "Now, let's head in."
They all were about to go in, but Maria stopped and put on a hat and sunglasses. Pinkie then asked, "Whatcha doin'?"
"Julian is bound to recognize me just by looking at me," Maria said. "If he finds out I'm his cousin, he might take me and force me to do bad things with him."
"No way we're gonna let that happen," Rainbow Dash said. "We got your back, no matter what." They all headed up the stairs to where the New Year's Ball was usually hosted in New York.
When they saw the New Year's Ball covered, Twilight asked, "What is that?!"
"That's the New Year's Ball," Sonic said. "They usually have this ready for New Year's Eve to countdown when the New Year officially starts."
"Okay," Twilight said. "That's a pretty good idea. Nice thinking. A way to celebrate the New Year with class."
MC then started sniffing around. He then said, "Hey. I got Nyx's scent."
The Mane 6, Sonic and Maria looked towards MC. Twilight then said, "Lead the way. If we find my daughter, we'll find the other princesses, Guard and Robotnik." Then they all followed MC to where Nyx's location was. They stopped at a tool shed.
"Oh, c'mon," MC said. "It can't be that simple." MC then opened the shack and inside there were some tools on the sides of the shed, but none in the back. MC looked around and saw a plunger. "Seriously? A plunger doesn't belong in a tool shed." He then pushed the plunger handle, and the back of the shed opened up, revealing a stairway going down.
"And he calls us dumb?!" Applejack asked. "Every creature knows that a plunger don't belong in a tool shed. They belong in a janitor's closet."
"Let's get going," Sonic said. Then the nine of them go down the stairs. When they reached the bottom of the stairs, they saw a giant generator thing, with six alicorn statues surrounding them.
"NO!!" Twilight shouted. She then flew over towards one of the statues, which was the third smallest one. "Nyx." She had tears coming out of her eyes.
MC walked over towards Twilight, pulled her aside slightly, cracked his knuckles, and put his hands on Nyx's head. His hands then started glowing in a golden aura, which surrounded Nyx's body. Then her body then turned back into her organic form. Nyx gasped and landed on her knees. She then coughed.
"Nyx!" Twilight shouted. She then picked Nyx up. "Are you okay?"
"Tw-Twilight?" Nyx asked. "How did I...?" She then noticed the other alicorns turned into Obsidian statues. She then gasped. "Did I...?"
"I'm afraid so," Twilight said. She then looked at MC and asked, "How did you do that?"
"It's called Molecular Manipulation," MC said. "It's part of my Materiokinetic powers." He then used his powers to turn the other alicorns back to normal, all gasping and coughing.
"Where are we?" Princess Luna asked. The Mane 6 helped them up. Pinkie and Fluttershy picked up Guard and Flurry, Rainbow Dash helped up Celestia, Applejack helped up Luna and Rarity helped up Cadance.
"We got to get out of here," Sonic said. "MC, destroy that generator."
"On it," MC said. Just then, the room started shaking. The floor then started elevating up. The fifteen figures looked around to see what was going on.
"Welcome, you insignificant fools!" came Doctor Robotnik's voice. They all looked towards the voice and saw Doctor Robotnik and the Storm King. "Glad you all could make it to your end."
"Robotnik," MC said, crossing his arms. He then looked at the Storm King. "And you must be the Storm King. You must be so weak if you want to take power that's not your own."
"You're the ones that are weak!" the Storm King replied. "Now that I have this!" The Storm King held up the Staff of Sacanas. "And with the power of the Chaos Emeralds, we shall rule this world and we shall get what we deserve!"
"Not on your life!" Sonic said. "We're going to stop you!"
"I don't think so," Doctor Robotnik said. "Let's show them why we deserve to rule this world!" The Storm King nodded, and jumped towards the group. He was about to attack Twilight, but MC blocked his attack, and pushed the Storm King back.
"You're stronger than you look," the Storm King said, smirking.
"And powerful," MC said, his tail attaching to the generator. Then his tail started getting coated in the same metal as the shell of the generator, spreading across his body. His mouth vanished and his eyes became golden aura.
"I didn't know he could do that," Fluttershy said.
"Also part of his Materiokinetic abilities," Sonic said.
MC's left hand then transformed into a hammer. Then he started fighting the Storm King. MC did a left handed uppercut, sending the Storm King towards the wall.
"Oh ho ho!" The Storm King said, wiping his lower lip. "So you're one of the Freedom Fighters, huh? Well, your fight will end in defeat! It's Freedom that's keeping you from your destiny!"
"It's only destiny by our own choices," MC said. "It's people like you who don't deserve to make choices for us. The life we make is determined by the life we choose."
"That is where you're wrong!" Doctor Robotnik said. "It's time you see the consequences of defying my will!"
The Mane 6, Sonic, Maria, and the alicorns were expecting something instantly but nothing happened. But then, they got a communication.
"Sonic! We got a problem here!" Tails's voice came from Sonic's communicator. It then went over to Tails's group, all of them being attacked by Metal Sonic. "It's a trap! It's that robotic copy of yours!"
Then it went over towards Knuckles's group. Knuckles then called out. "That's nothing! We got a power hungry centaur here!" In the theater, Knuckles's group was fighting Lord Tirek.
Then it went to the subway. Sally was saying into her communicator, "Guys, we also have trouble. According to Ocellus, it's the former Queen of the Changelings! Chrysalis!" She then was shot by green goop, stuck to a wall.
Then it went over to the zoo. Rotor was being pinned down by a pony. He then said into his communicator, "We got trouble, too! We got a pony named Lightning Dust!"
Then it went to Olive's group. She was kicked back by someone. She then said into her communicator. "I think I got the easiest one. An old pony stallion who's an ex-Wonderbolt."
"You're fighting Wind Rider?!" Rainbow's voice came from Olive's communicator.
"Yep," Olive said. "No wonder he was booted. He's a jerk."
Then it went to Midpoint's group. He called out to his group, "Everyone stay together!" They all came together. But then something came from above. It was Bokkun. "You again?! Haven't you caused enough trouble back in San Francisco?!"
"Oh, I have something else in mind!" Bokkun said, pulling a two-handed gun out of his satchel. He then fired it and a container came out of it, hitting Stygian.
"GAH!!" Stygian cried out in pain.
"Stygian!" Star Swirl exclaimed. He then looked up at Bokkun and shouted, "What did you do?!"
"Oh, I'm just introducing you to an old friend of yours, Star Swirl!" Bokkun said. Then black goop came out of where Stygian was hit, and then Stygian started getting bigger.
"What is that?!" Mutt asked.
"You got to be kidding me!" Midpoint said. "A symbiote?! Dang it, Stan Lee!"
Stygian had turned back to the Pony of Shadows. He then called out, "It's time to take you down once and for all!"
Then it went back to the Mane 6, Sonic, MC, Maria and the other Alicorns were shocked by what the others said. Sonic then got angry and shouted, "What have you done?!"
"It's time you got what all of you deserve!" Doctor Robotnik said. "It's time you all feel the wrath of the Storm King, and Doctor Eggman!" He then cackled loudly.
The Storm King then did a diving slam with the staff, but MC blocked the attack. MC was still metal. MC then turned around and his tail smacked the Storm King back into the wall.
MC then looked at Princesses Celestia, Luna and Cadance and said, "You three get those kids out of here! We'll take care of these idiots!"
"Oh, we're the idiots?!" Doctor Eggman said. "You're not even as smart as I am!"
"Who puts a plunger in a tool shed?!" MC called back.
"Oh, that's right," Doctor Eggman said. "That was not smart of me!" That caused MC to get smacked towards the Mane 6, Sonic and Maria, knocking them all down.
"You let your guard down!" the Storm King said. "Now, feel my wrath!" The Storm King then fired a beam from the Staff of Sacanas, heading towards the group.
"Chaos Shield!" MC shouted, putting his hands out and a golden aura emitting a shield in front of the group.
"What?!" the Storm King shouted.
MC then stood up, and the metal coating around him broke off, and he was in his natural form. He then said, "No one hurts my friends and family and gets away with it. Even though we're not related by blood, it doesn't mean we're family."
Sonic smirked at that, put a hand on MC's left shoulder and said, "You got that right, buddy." Then the Mane 6 and Maria stood along side the two of them.
"We must get going," Princess Luna said.
"C'mon," Cadance said. Cadance then picked up Flurry Heart, Celestia picked up Guard and Luna picked up Nyx.
MC then called out, "Get to Chelsea Piers! That's where we parked our flying machines!" Celestia nodded and they all headed towards the proper location.
Then the Storm King grabbed MC, shook him, and the Chaos Emerald fell out of him. He then grabbed it and pushed the group back down to the floor. The Storm King then opened up the generator, and placed the Chaos Emerald inside of it.
"NO!!" Sonic called out.
"It's too late, Hedgehog!" Doctor Eggman said. "It's time this world knows who's truly the greatest person of all worlds!" He then raised his hand, extended his forefinger, and then quickly went down and pushed a button. Then the generator started activating, releasing a yellow light. Then the generators from the other locations activate, emitting a light from the Chaos Emeralds. Then all the lights came together and the power headed to the sky, creating a huge dark cloud throughout the entire planet, coating everything in darkness.
Then seven colors came down and they headed towards the Staff of Sacanas. The Storm King then got supercharged with power, him laughing at the Mane 6, Sonic, MC and Maria.
"You lose!" the Storm King said, firing a beam at the heroes, them being pushed back and weakened.
"Prepare, you fools, for the Chaotic Storm of the Century!" Doctor Eggman called out. He then laughed out loud to the world. The Mane 6, Sonic, MC and Maria getting angry at them not stopping them in time.
