//------------------------------// // The Hunt for Suicune // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Equestria. Out in the fields. Afternoon. Right now, Goh was going through his usual task of catching Pokemon, just to fulfil his goal. Joining him in this was Starlight who supported his goal, despite how massive it was. Goh had just caught a few Pokemon today successfully, adding new data to his Pokedex. "Nice! I got myself a Delcatty!" Goh raised the Poke Ball which currently had a newly caught Delcatty within it. "Good job, Goh!" Starlight clapped her hooves, applauding her friend. "That's...how many Pokemon left to go?" "Not sure. But ah, who cares? As long as I can catch 'em, it's fine with me." Goh placed his Pokedex back in his pocket. "So, what's next?" "You're the catcher here." Starlight shrugged. "I don't have much to say right now, anyway." "Ah, that's it!" Goh then sparked an idea, putting his hands together. "How about we get you your second Pokemon? Someone new for Hatterene?" "Oh, my second Pokemon." The unicorn looked up, pondering for a moment. "I guess I'm really limited to one Pokemon, aren't I? Even Applejack has a Golett now. E-Even though if it tagged along in the first place. Having another Pokemon and a new teammate for Hatterene doesn't sound so bad." "Nice. So which Pokemon will it be?" "Eh..." Starlight shrugged. "I mean...Normal-Types are pretty cute. So are Fairy and Grass-Types, I guess. I don't know really. You choose." "Guess we're gonna have to find out which one works, huh? Oh, maybe those ponies over there have something." Goh then noticed some ponies passing by, going on a stroll. He waved at them, grabbing their attention. "Oh, hey." A mare spoke. "Aren't you Ash's sidekick?" After hearing that, Goh froze on the spot while still maintaining an open-mouthed smile. Being called a sidekick was a shot to the heart as he then fell to the ground afterwards. The mare put her hoof on her mouth, quickly realizing what she had just said. "Oops! Sorry!" She apologized before getting on her merry way with her friend. But the damage was already done. Goh laid there with his head hung low on his knees. "S-Sidekick..." Goh grumbled. "Guess that's what I am to everyone here." "G-Goh!" Starlight rushed over, patting him on the back. "Don't say that. Of course, you're not Ash's sidekick, you're just um...not that well known around here. That doesn't mean you're a sidekick." "Right." Goh scrunched his face before standing up, crossing his arms to try and shrug off the pain. But he was still feeling it as a single tear fell from his eyes. "Anyway! Let's get rolling and catch some Pokemon!" The two of them moved to the nearest part of the fields. Near the fields, there was a biome all for Rock-Type Pokemon and some Water-Types known as Rock-Soft Hills. Starlight was personally into cute Pokemon as her choice. Rock-Types aren't known for being the cutest but some are. Plus, any Pokemon can be considered cute in some way. They climbed up a hill to get a better view of the place before heading to a lower part of the area. There were some selections for Starlight. Plenty. But nothing that would really catch her eye. However, she knew that she wouldn't make any progress by just gazing and thinking. "Just to have a better chance, I'll use these." She took some Great Balls out of her saddlebag. They would clearly help for a better catch efficiency. "This would work fine. And I think I'll take a Lapras. Those are cute." "Lapras, huh?" Goh looked at his Pokedex, checking out Lapras' data. "Alright. Lapras it-" But just before he could finish his sentence, over at the distance up north, a loud and visible explosion occurred. The two of them were alerted by it as they faced the direction of the explosion. What was left was a large smoke cloud afterwards. But not only that, some Pokemon were running for the hills. Or even swimming away as fast as they could. "What was that?!" Starlight gasped. They wouldn't have to wonder soon as their answer had been granted. In the distance, up in the sky through the smoke, they had seen a familiar sight. A blimp. Not just any blimp. A Team Plasma blimp. "Team Plasma?!" They both exclaimed. If Team Plasma were here, that meant only one thing. There was something that they wanted in this world, obviously. The blimp travelled through the air as a few Team Plasma grunts could be seen exiting it. Starlight and Goh quickly hid behind a large rock mound to conceal themselves. "Suicune is hiding somewhere here. Search everywhere in this area." A grunt spoke as Goh and Starlight found out why they were here. "Suicune?" The duo said after hearing Suicune's name. It was clear as day. They were searching for Suicune. The same Suicune that escaped from their base along with the Zeraora. Their escape had led them to this universe and Team Plasma was aiming to retrieve them. They had been searching for a few weeks now without slowing down. A couple of grunts could be seen, moving across the land as they were scaring some Pokemon away from their destructive entrance. Starlight and Goh kept quiet as they knew what had to be done. However, they couldn't do it alone. Not with all of these grunts. "If they get Suicune..." Starlight said before pulling out her Xtransceiver. "Looks we'll need all-" Unfortunately, to their surprise, the rock mound that they hid behind had been obliterated, blowing them both back. "Ah!" Goh and Starlight were both knocked back by this explosion as they crashed into a nearby hill with pebbles falling on them. The cause of this? Not a Wild Pokemon. But Team Plasma themselves. The rubble settled along with the smoke as it was revealed that they had found Goh and Starlight. A few of them at least. The others were going for Suicune. And with them, they had a Luxray, explaining how they had been found. "Sticky Web!" Another grunt spoke, commanding his Araquanid by his side. "Quanid!" With quick movements, the Water Bubble Pokemon weaved a sticky web around the duo. The web had also pinned them against the wall "Nice find, Luxray." A grunt said. "Luxray!" The Gleam Eyes Pokemon growled at the two of them. "U-Ugh...What happened to using only Poison, Dark and Ghost-Types?" Starlight groaned. "Hmph. Those became boring and pointless quick. Using other types makes things much easier for us." Another grunt said as she chuckled. "You're Ash Ketchum's friends, aren't you? We've made a great find." A grunt stepped forward. "Can't stay out of our business, can you?" "What do you want with Suicune?! It's not a Pokemon that gives a lot of power like Reshiram or Zekrom!" Goh exclaimed as Starlight tried using her magic to break free. Araquanid just added more webs, causing the trap to become thicker and harder to break out of. "Lord Ghetsis and Colress have their plans with each Pokemon. Even the less powerful Legendary Pokemon have their purpose. But you don't need to know what. Speaking of Suicune, it's high time we bought it out." The grunt then turned around, holding a Poke Ball. Out of this Poke Ball came a Weavile. "Weavile!" As Weavile emerged, other grunts went up to the lake with their Pokemon. Despite them using new Pokemon of different types, they still had Poison and Dark-Type Pokemon with them. "Use Poison Jab on the water." "Toxic." A few other grunts ordered. Each would use some form of poison as the Pokemon spat out an intensifying toxic out of their mouths. "Wea...vile!" The Sharp Claw Pokemon covered its claws in poison before dipping them into the lake. By doing so, Weavile and the other Pokemon immediately polluted the lake with an abundance of poison. The naturally beautiful blue water had been corrupted, gaining a murky deep purple colouring. That didn't spell any good news for the Water-Type Pokemon living in it as there were no signs of the poison stopping or even slowing down. "That should do it. Practically something that it won't resist." A grunt chuckled before Goh and Starlight realized what they were doing. "I've heard about Suicune...it purifies water! You're gonna drag it out with this?!" Starlight bellowed before trying to use her magic to break through this thick web. Even if her magic was on par with an alicorn, the web from a Pokemon was tough to break. "Clever horse." A grunt replied before having his Araquanid add more webs, making it harder for Starlight to break free. As the webs were added, the Water-Type Pokemon were already in a predicament with dealing with this water. They were aiming to swim somewhere else for safety. And at that same time, the sound of a powerful Pokemon crying out could be heard. That Pokemon being Suicune. The grunts smirked, knowing that their bait was working. "Good. But first. Let's get rid of you all." The grunts then turned to Goh and Starlight, aiming to do more than just trap them here. "Lord Ghetsis will appreciate it if some of Ash's friends are out of the picture." She chuckled before approaching Starlight and Goh. The grunt noticed that Starlight had her Xtransceiver out. It was still out since she was aiming to call her friends. After seeing it, the grunt personal snatched the communication device from the web. She held it up, allowing Weavile to break it apart with a slash of its claw. Starlight's eyes widened as she just saw her Xtransceiver perish that easily. "Wea!" "There. Calling your friends won't be so easy now, will it? Weavile, Poison Jab." "Araquanid, Scald." "Wea...!" Weavile jumped into the air, coating its claws it poison yet again. Araquanid shot out scalding hot water from its face, aiming to burn them alive with water of all things. "C-Come on!" Goh put everything into his muscles but the webs were too thick. Starlight closed her eyes as she tried expanding her magic. Scald would obviously reach them first before Starlight could break free. However, something interrupted them. Another Scald came flying in, intercepting Araquanid's Scald as they cancelled each other out. That allowed Starlight to create a shield around her and Goh from Weavile. The Sharp Claw Pokemon ended up slashing a barrier instead of its intended prey. Araquanid and the grunts turned round to see who had intercepted the attack. It was a Lapras and other Water-Type Pokemon who weren't too fond of Team Plasma polluting their water. "Tch. There's always some interruption either way. Head for Suicune!" A grunt ordered as they all scattered, aiming to not waste any time. Once the other Pokemon approached, Team Plasma rushed off to focus on what really mattered. Suicune. "Grrr!" Starlight groaned as she concentrated all of the magic she had. By doing so, she ripped the web off, freeing her and Goh after having enough time. However, some grunts weren't about to allow their plans to be interrupted. A few of them stayed behind to deal with Goh, Starlight and the other Pokemon while the rest went off to nab Suicune. If they could find it. Now that they were free, Goh and Starlight could use their Pokemon. "Like we'd let you get to Suicune! Come out, Cinderace!" "Go, Hatterene!" At the same time, they threw their Poke Balls. Out came the Striker Pokemon and Silent Pokemon, standing in front of their trainers. And they had assistance from Lapras and some other Water-Types. "Cinderace!" "Hatterene!" "Cinderace, use Blaze Kick!" "Hatterene, Dazzling Gleam!" "Cinder!" Cinderace stomped on the ground before igniting its own feet. The Striker Pokemon then leapt forward, flipping in the air before putting its foot out. Hatterene stood back, unleashing multiple rainbow rays from her claw as the Water-Types assisted. Dazzling Gleam was accompanied by Water-Type attacks that also flew past Cinderace. "Sigilyph, Ancient Power!" "Galvantula, Discharge!" "Weavile, Night Slash!" Each of the grunts ordered the rest of their Pokemon. About 12 of them were present. Just enough to even the odds against Cinderace, Hatterene and the Water-Types. Weavile lunged into the air, clashing with Cinderace's leg by using Night Slash yet again. The two of them entered a clash with Weavile trying to properly slash Cinderace as Cinderace was looking for a clean hit with Blaze Kick. Galvantula unleashed a flare of electricity so strong that it had overpowered the Water-Type attacks, hitting the Pokemon that had unleashed them. Sigilyph's Ancient Power had met with Hatterene's Dazzling Gleam with both attacks being equal. A few other Pokemon had used Sludge Bomb and Hidden Power. Cinderace and Weavile separated as streams of sludge and white beams with different typings came towards its direction along with Hatterene. "Ace?!" Cinderace put up its arms to try and block this as attacks had landed right around their area. Discharge had already struck the Water-Types, dealing super-effective damage. Not only that, but the poison within the water was still present. And eventually, those inside the water would be poisoned as well. Cinderace and Hatteene had been hit by Discharge due to its range as well as the other attacks, taking damage in the process. The two of them had been knocked back afterwards. "C-Cinder!" "Hatt!" "Now, use Hyper Beam!" A grunt ordered their Exploud. "Ex...Ploud!" Exploud summoned an orb of energy in its mouth, charging it so that it would take everyone out in the process. "Pyro Ball!" "Cinderace!" Cinderace recovered before kicking a pebble. That pebble ignited afterwards, forming a ball of fire. The Striker Pokemon then kicked the fireball as hard as it could, right when Exploud unleashed Hyper Beam. Pyro Ball and Hyper Beam with them equalizing each other, resulting in an outburst. Afterwards, smoke filled the area while some of the Water-Type Pokemon were already leaving the area while the poison continued to spread. Through the smoke, Weavile had shown up, appearing above Hatterene with Poison Jab. Galvantula had also sent an Electroweb through the smoke, catching Cinderace with it. "C-Cinder!" Cinderace had been restrained against a hill with a net of electricity crackling bout. "Hatterene, Protect!" "Tterene!" To defend herself, Hatterene put up a barrier around her body. Weavile rapidly swung its claws at the barrier while Cinderace writhed around, attempting to break free. "Muk! Sludge Bomb!" Two grunts ordered their two Muk. The Muk shot out sludges from their mouths with one aimed at Cinderace and the other towards Hatterene's shield. "Cinderace!" Goh got in the way, shielding his partner as he took the Sludge Bomb instead. As a result, Goh had been hit by the sludge, falling over afterwards. Cinderace growled after seeing Goh harmed. With pure power, it broke out the web, shattering it. As for Hatterene, her shield was being battered by poison. Unfortunately, she couldn't hold it for long. "H-Hatt!" Hatterene groaned, however, she quickly gained help. Starlight used her own magic to add a second shield, layering it. That greatly helped her. "Hyper Beam, again!" "Ploud!" Exploud unleashed another Hyper Beam as Weavile jumped out of the way. The Hyper Beam struck the double shields at full force. It was a move certainly strong enough to damage shields if used correctly. One hit and Starlight's shield trembled. "There's way too many of them!" Goh said as he stood beside Cinderace. "Let's go!" "I'm with you on that one!" Starlight agreed as she removed her shield along with Hatterene's Protect. They were greatly outnumbered right now with the Water-Types aiming to head somewhere clean and safe without poison. Goh and Starlight recalled their Pokemon before dashing off. However, the grunts wouldn't allow them to get away scot-free. They had a goal. And they didn't want anyone to ruin it. Before they could rush off, Lapras had actually stayed behind, using Ice Beam to create a large sharp blockade of ice. "Lap! Lapras!" The Transport Pokemon could see that Goh and Starlight were good in the heart, so it allowed them to run off. But it was feeling vengeful against Team Plasma. "Thank you, Lapras!" Starlight thanked the Transport Pokemon as she and Goh managed to leave the sights of Team Plasma. The grunts faced Lapras, aiming to quickly deal with it and continue their pursuit. "Stay here." However. They weren't alone in this. One of the more elite members of Team Plasma had come along with them in their hunt for Suicune. One of the Shadow Triad members. He could be seen on a hill as he seemingly appeared out of nowhere. He ordered the grunts to stay behind and deal with Lapras while the rest find Suicune. The triad member himself would deal with Goh and Starlight. He had other stronger Team Plasma grunts by his side to make sure that would happen. Goh and Starlight had found a place to hide at the moment. A nearby cave. They were out of the grunts' sight at the moment. They took a moment to breathe. If they had continued their battle any further, chances are, they would've lost. Team Plasma had better numbers and they had seemingly improved their battling skills, which was not a good sign. "Okay...This looks good enough." Starlight sighed. "We still need to find Suicune before they do." "Where?" Goh asked. "Suicune could be anywhere. Doesn't it move around the land quickly?" "Suicune won't ignore any contaminated water at all. They know that it'll come right to it no matter what. There's also a lake nearby." Starlight explained. "We can't do this alone." Goh took out his Rotomdex to try and call Ash. "Then you never should've gotten in our way in the first place." Responding to Goh in a heartbeat was none other than the Shadow Triad member. That quickly, he had found them with little effort. Beside him were other grunts as he had his Banette out. The three grunts beside him had a Salazzle, Barbaracle and Liepard with them. "How'd they find us so fast?!" Starlight pulled her mane. "No time!" Goh quickly selected Ash's number, knowing he needed t call him fast. The call went through with some beeping. However, Team Plasma refused the chance of Ash and the others showing up. The Triad Member took a single needle out, flicking it. He flicked it with so much force that it moved at incredible speeds. The needle then pierced through Goh's Rotomdex, interrupting the call as it was dropped out of his hands. "Oh!" "Now." The Triad Member descended to the lower ground with the other grunts, facing Goh and Starlight. Already, they had cornered them despite their being less than 12 as opposed to the previous grunts from before. Goh held out a Poke Ball, ready to defend himself in whatever way he could. As for Starlight, she was ready to do the same, but not before using her magic to do one little thing. The telepathic communication spell. A handy spell that Twilight taught her and was also used during the invasion. "Twilight! If you're hearing this, Goh and I need help! Serious help!" Starlight communicated with Twilight from afar with this spell. The sound travelled through the land of Equestria, all the way from this rocky biome to Twilight's castle. "Starlight? What's wrong?" Twilight had received it, responding. "Where are you two?" "Rock-Soft Hills! We've run into some Team Plasma Trouble!" She explained as she sent out Hatterene while Goh sent out his Flygon. "They're after Suicune!" "Team Plasma?! Suicune?! We're on our way! Just hang in there, okay?!" "Banette, Phantom Force." "Nette!" The Marionette Pokemon vanished, evading Flygon's incoming Dragon Claw. "Fly?" "Liepard! Play Rough!" "Lie!" Liepard lunged at Flygon right after it had missed Dragon Claw. The Cruel Pokemon pounded on the Mystic Pokemon, pinning it to the ground before covering Flygon in a cloud of pink smoke. "Salazzle, Fire Lash!" "Lazzle!" Salazzle held her tongue out, igniting it with scorching flames before swinging it at Hatterene. "Psycho Cut, Hatterene!" "Hatt!" Hatterene quickly responded by swinging her own claw with Psychic energy around it. Her claw met with Salazzle's tongue as they started clashing back and forth like swords. "Barbaracle, use Ice Beam!" "Barbaracle!" As for Barbaracle, it stood from afar, firing a beam of ice towards Flygon once it was knocked out of Play Rough's smoke. Flygon recovered in the air, evading Ice Beam at the right time. However, as a sneak attack, Banette appeared from the shadows, whacking the Mystic Pokemon down to the ground. "F-Fly!" "Bar!" After Flygon was sent down, Barbaracle used another Ice Beam. A direct hit. Flygon had taken super-effective damage yet again as its body had been frozen afterwards. "Ah, Flygon!" Goh gasped but he didn't have to worry. Starlight used her magic to break the ice prison around Flygon, freeing the Mystic Pokemon. "Hatterene, Dazzling Gleam!" "Hatt!" Hatterene formed a dome-shaped rainbow around her body. BY doing so, she made a blinding light that had affected the opposing Pokemon. Liepard, Barbaracle and Salazzle had been blinded by it. Not only that, but the dome expanded, blowing the opposing Pokemon away with some damage added in. But not Banette. "Bane!" The Ghost-Type emerged from the shadows with Phantom Force once again, hitting Hatterene from behind. "H-Hatte!" Hatterene cried out as she almost fell on her face. Banette then reappeared, hitting her in front this time, knocking her back. The Psychic-Fairy-Type was sent towards Starlight. Hatterene had crashed into her own partner as they both fell over. "Flygon, Dragon Rush!" "Gon!" Flygon roared before enveloping its body in a giant blue draconic aura. The Mystic Pokemon then charged like a rocket with all it had. Flygon smashed into Liepard, which then prompted it to crash into Barbaracle. Flygon got a two-in-one hit with that move as both Liepard and Barbaracle went flying. Salazzle jumped out of the way, responding with Dragon Pulse. The Mystic Pokemon had been hit from the side with Dragon Pulse, crashing into the ground afterwards. "F-Fly!" "Flygon, no!" Goh cried out as Flygon groaned, on the verge of fainting. He attempted to return the Mystic Pokemon by holding out his Poke Ball. However, Banette appeared in front of Goh along with the Triad Member and Salazzle. They had forced Goh to move back, cornering him once more. Goh was shaking with fear as he wasn't' expecting today to end up like this. Hatterene had already taken super-effective damage from Banette two times in a row as Starlight helped her up. Starlight lit up her horn with magic, aiming to do something about this predicament without using Pokemon at all. This looked like a difficult situation. That is until the Pokemon of the hour arrived. Suicune. Appearing on top of a hill and letting out a bellowing cry, the Aurora Pokemon had shown itself, at last, grabbing everyone's attention. They all gawked before collectively saying its name. "Suicune!" As the journey continues. Chapter 522 End.
