What do you know of alternate universes? Each one is unique in there own way yet some barely change anything from the original universe. This story takes place in one such universe, a world of "reflections" called the Mirrorverse...
A nice breeze helped cool down yet another hot summer day in Ponyville yet ponies were hardly out and about not due to the weather but because of the fact that the Erroneous Equines live within this town, far from said town is where we find a small Changeling mare carefully walking around. She was a dull gray with cyan wings and a shell to match, not far behind was a much bigger male with a darker color scheme and similar colored wings, what made him stand out was his antlers which were just as dark grey as the rest of him. This changeling was named Thorax.
"Hey don't go ahead of me Cephila, we need to stick together." Thorax says to the small female changeling.
"Aww no fun... I wanna hugs stuff" Cephila says before pouting.
"Don't give me that, The Duchess told me to take care of you since I had nothing better to do." Thorax said.
"Kk" Cephila says in a cute way before joining up with Thorax.
[Past]
Cephila was bored as she drew a picture of herself hugging a pony that was sad, suddenly she perked up, she had an idea. So off she ran to find the Virtue of Love herself, Duchess Chrysalis,Only to eventually bump into Thorax who already was in a rather sour mood.
"Watch it Cephila! You nearly ran me over!" He said.
"Sorry "raxy"! I need find momma Duchess, I wanna explore!" Cephila says excitedly while hopping up in down.
"Alright then let's find 'er together, oh by the way don't bump into me again." Thorax said.
"Yay!" Was Cephila's response.
The two would eventually find The Duchess taking care of a few baby changeling nymphs. It didn't take long for her to notice them.
"Ah hello dearies, how may I help you this fine day?" She says in her usual kind motherly tone.
Thorax explains to her the reason why they're looking for her and she then says "oh I see, how about you take care of little Cephila as she explores, that way she'll be safe."
"Alright fine, got nothing better to do anyway" Thorax said.
"Then it's settled, have fun you two" The Duchess says before giving them a kind smile.
[Present]
The two Changelings make there way over ponyville some of the few nicer ones would wave while others would just ignore them.
"Jeez figured these ponies would still be good with us or something." Thorax mutters to himself as Cephila skips along besides him humming a little tune.
"Sup bug breath." a voice calls out to them, one all too familiar to Thorax as it was Fluttershy herself! Leader of the infamous Erroneous Equines which is a well know group of trouble makers.
"What is it now Flutters? Oh and the name is Thorax." Thorax says clearly annoyed.
"Who's the cutie? Mind if I take her?" Fluttershy mockingly says before laughing at him.
Before Thorax could retort Cephila says " I Cephila, yellow pine no take me. Duchess be mad at yellow pony if she do."
"Some name, anyway gonna prank ya sometime later not gonna tell you when but it'll happen." Fluttershy says before giggling mischievously, she would then fly off possibly to the hideout which was right across from the mayor's office.
"Why is she always so annoying!? C'mon kiddo let's just get moving." Thorax says before walking off.
"Coming!" Cephila says cheerfully following him.
The two changelings would pass by the Erroneous Equines's hideout not to long after their encounter with Fluttershy, Thorax would shoot it a nasty look before continuing on,Cephila hopping along side him.
After a little while our two friends would be stopped one more by a small purple dragon that hat a little hat on his head.
"Where're you two headin' off too eh?" The dragon said.
"Oh great, you're Spike right? The guy who's too lazy to do any work yet somehow does spy stuff for those crooks?" Thorax said.
"I don't do work for no one but myself bug boy." Spike responds rudely.
"He mean..." Cephila says as she hides near one of Thorax's legs.
"Don't pay him any mind, from what I know he's been like this." Thorax said.
"Kk" Cephila said.
The two would then leave Spike alone by himself to walk around the rest of town.
"I hungry" Cephila said.
Thorax would sigh then take Cephila to a nearby apple stand, even though they don't need to eat love the changelings of the mirrorverse often will eat normal food to "blend in".
Unfortunately for Thorax the pony manning the apple stand was the infamous thief Jacqueline "Blackjack" Apple or Applejack for short. Funny enough she was actually there to steal said apples.
"Oh great another of you lot, how wonderful..." Thorax says sarcastically.
"Well howdy ta ya too bug boy." Applejack responds with equal sarcasm.
"Who she?" Cephila said.
"No pony important, were gonna go get something later." Thorax said.
"Aww.., kk" Cephila said.
"What er y'all doin' here anyway?" Applejack asks Thorax.
"I'm tasked to keep an eye on Cephila here as she explores this town of yours." Thorax explains.
"Sounds like good ol' fun." Applejack says in an cheerful but mocking tone knowing full well she just lied.
Thorax doesn't respond and simply ignores Applejack, he then walks off with Cephila shortly following behind.
On the way past Sugarcube Corner our two changelings would pass by the so called "heath nut" Pinkamena Pie who was currently scolding the painfully accident prone Rainbow Crash for injuring herself yet again after crashing into a wall.
Thorax didn't really want to speak to either of them and continued to escort Cephila around, said changeling would eventually bump right on into Rarity who for once wasn't trying to steal gems.
"Sorry sorry!" Cephila says to the greedy mare.
"As long as you didn't bump into MY gems you're fine,now then... DON'T DO IT AGAIN!" Rarity said.
"Meanie" Cephila says while pouting.
"Don't care." rarity says before leaving.
"The nerve of that, ignore her Cephila, let's go home." Thorax said.
"Kk" Cephila cheerfully responds.
They would then make there way home but not before they once agan pass by Fluttershy who simply ignores them as she was busy laughing at the argument between The Magnificent Magician Twilight Sparkle and The Princess of Humility herself, probably over who has the best looks again according to what Thorax jokingly thought in his head.
About 50 minutes later the two changelings would finally reach home...
"Momma Duchess we home" Cephila says happily before hugging Duchess Chrysalis.
"Did you have fun dearie?" Duchess Chrysalis asks her.
"Yup, we find mean error ponies though." Cephila says.
"Erroneous Equines Cephila..." Thorax says to correct her.
Duchess Chrysalis smiles, happy to know her little one was safe thanks to Thorax.
"Heh, what an adventure that was...." Thorax quietly says to himself before heading off into his room, Duchess Chrysalis chuckling in the background.
