//------------------------------// // Aim to be a Leek Master // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// The Pokemon World Championships. Or the Pokemon World Coronation Series. A trial to crown the World's Strongest Pokemon Trainer. In hopes of battling the Supreme Monarch and Undefeated Champion Leon, Ash is participating in the Championships. Trainers from all over the world are taking part. They battle other Trainers in their class and the results of those battles determine their current ranking in the world. Ash is currently ranked 415th place, which places him in the Great Class. His path to Supreme Monarch Leon remains a long one. The Pokemon House. Day. "Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Right now, Ash was doing some training with his Pokemon to better his skills for the Pokemon World Championships and to hopefully face Leon one day. "Pika...Chuuu!" Pikachu had currently ascended into the air, shooting a bolt of 100,000 volts towards Gengar who was his training opponent. "Gen...Gar!" Gengar flew over the Thunderbolt as it hit the ground. The Shadow Pokemon then used Psychic, outlining Pikachu in a blue light before shooting the Electric Mouse Pokemon down to the ground. "Pika!" "Lu!" As for Lucario, his training partner was Dragonite. The Aura Pokemon swung consecutive hits towards the Dragon Pokemon but Dragonite simply put her hands up to block every hit. "Ooh! Awesome you guys!" Rainbow Dash applauded. "You're doing great!" Fluttershy exclaimed while Audino held her. They were training hard but the only one not participating in this training session was Farfetch'd. Instead, he was sitting by a nearby rock on his own with his eyes closed. He stayed silent for a while until his eye opened up with a golden glare. "Far...fetch'd!" And by raising his leek, the Wild Duck Pokemon stomped his weapon on the ground, making everything around him tremble. The entire Pokemon House shook as everyone's balance had been disrupted. "Woah!" Ash and the others gasped, almost falling over. Smoke covered the area before fading away afterwards. Farfetch'd still kept his cold, serious never-changing stare as he didn't even face everyone behind him. "Farfetch'd. You're really pumped, aren't you?" Ash went up to the Wild Duck Pokemon. But the moment he approached him and got too close, Farfetch'd responded by swinging his leek onto Ash's stomach. "Woah!" Ash was then slammed into the ground by Farfetch'd as everyone gasped from seeing Farfetch'd suddenly strike his own Trainer. But it wasn't uncommon for a Pokemon to do that. "Ash! Are you okay?!" Twilight cried out as she and the others slid over to see if he was okay. "Pikapi?!" "That's some crazy power...I really felt that..." Ash laughed, shrugging off the damage he felt. "Far..." But Farfetch'd still stayed serious even after slamming Ash. And just arriving here, missing out on Ash being struck by Farfetch'd was Goh alongside his Cinderace. "Ash!" Goh bellowed. "Yeah, what's up, Goh?" Ash got up immediately afterwards. "Check this out!" He then showed Ash and the others his Rotomphone which had the image of a Geodude in it. "Get this. There's a Geodude outbreak! If I can catch Geodude then I can evolve it and register both Graveler and Golem in one fell swoop!" "Oh! Nice thinking, Goh! Where is it happening?" Ash asked. "This right here." Goh pointed at the location, showing it to everyone. "Rock Tunnel, huh? Farfetch'd. This'll be a perfect chance for you to train!" "Far?" "What about our training? We were gonna train together, right, Ash?" Rainbow Dash flew over. "Oh yeah, yeah. We're still gonna train up, Dash." Ash gave his thumbs up. "Oh, by the way...isn't the Equestria League Stadium close to finishing?" "It certainly is. Have a look." Rarity took out a picture she received of the early build of the Equestria League Stadium. She showed it to everyone, revealing its early stage. "Very soon, we'll be seeing it in its full glory. Right near Canterlot as well." "I'd say that thing needs four more weeks and it'll look good as new." Applejack spoke. "A bunch of trainers could already be heading there...I gotta get the rest of my badges quick!" Rainbow Dash bit her hoof, beginning to enter a state of panic as Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie calmed her down, making sure she wouldn't panic. "Alright. Let's go, Farfetch'd!" Ash looked at Farfetch'd, ready to head to Rock Tunnel. "Fetch'd?" Rock Tunnel. Kanto Region. Arriving here was Ash and everyone else. One for training and the other for catching a Pokemon. The rest were here for support. But mostly because they believed another Pokemon journey was bound to happen here. Plus, it's always entertaining to see what mishaps they can create along the way. Before, they would just stray away from any of that. "Where's that Geodude outbreak?" Goh scratched his head as he and everyone noticed a large lack of Geodude at the moment. "Did they already leave?" "Far!" And straying away from the group was Farfetch'd. He had just smashed some rocks with his leek in one just one hit. He then went on to destroy another rock, continuously swinging his leek. Many of the rubble from the shattered rocks started flying everywhere, almost hitting Ash and the others. "Oh!" Applejack gasped as she ducked for cover. Everyone else scattered from the flying rocks as Farfetch'd had smashed practically almost all rocks that he had seen. He wouldn't stop until all of them were obliterated."Be careful why don't you?!" Farfetch'd responded to Applejack with no words as he walked away, continuing his training. He then came across another rock, closing his eyes and holding the leek close to him. "He wasn't this grumpy before..." Rainbow Dash said. "What gives?" "Some attitude." Starlight pouted her face. "Did something happen to him earlier?" "He didn't take part in the training earlier." Rarity shook her head. "Some Pokemon are hard to understand with their mood swings, aren't they?" "Oh don't worry about it. Watch." Pinkie slid over to the Wild Duck Pokemon, already having some delicious food ready for him as she appeared behind the Fighting-Type. "Hey, Farfetch'd. Look, your favourite. Spicy vinegar cupcakes, eh?" "Far?" Farfetch'd heard Pinkie Pie's words as an anger vein appeared on his head. Pinkie had just interrupted his focus, which displeased the Wild Duck Pokemon. IN response, Farfetch'd swung his leek onto the cupcake, knocking it into the air. "AH!" Pinkie Pie cried out after witnessing the cupcake fly into the air. "Mew!" But Mew would gladly take it if Farfetch'd didn't want it. The New Species Pokemon teleported into the air, grabbing the cupcake and biting on it. "Mew-Mew!" "O-Okay! You're not in the best mood right now!" Pinkie let out a nervous grin as she backed away. "Farfetch'd looks like he has a new focus on his mind. Some Pokemon tend to change moods when it comes to focusing at times." Fluttershy observed the Wild Duck Pokemon as Farfetch'd had put all of his power into this one swing. "Fetch'd!" He smashed the rock in front of him at full force. And with that full power swing, out of it popped a Geodude. The Pokemon Goh was looking for as an eruption of energy emerged from the rubble. "Geodude!" "Aha! There!" Goh cried out as he took out a Poke Ball, launching it in a curved position. "Poke Ball, go! With one throw, the ball struck the Rock-Type, pulling it inside with a red ball. And once it hit the ground, the traditional shaking could begin. 1...2...3...Gotcha! Geodude has been caught. And for Goh's Pokedex, its data will be added automatically without needing to scan it. "Great! I owe you one, Farfetch'd!" Goh turned to Wild Duck Pokemon. "All's well that ends well, right, Farfetch'd?" Ash approached Farfetch'd once more. But this time, Farfetch'd just walked away, staying silent. He then continued to smash the rocks in front of him. "Well, at least he's consistently strong, huh?" Rainbow Dash said while Farfecth'd continued to ghost everyone around him, only focusing on one thing. "Yeah. My Farfetch'd's aiming to be a Leek Master." Ash nodded. "Leek Master?" They all said. "Yup. The world's mightiest Farfetch'd, a true expert at fighting with the leek!" Ash gave a short explanation as it was somewhat similar to his goal of becoming a Pokemon Master. Except it was fully understandable as Ash went over to his Pokemon, placing his hand on his shoulder. "Let's chase after that goal together, Farfetch'd." "Pika-Pika!" "Far!" With a short stare into each other's faces, Farfetch'd gave his response to Ash in the form of yet another swing with his leek. This time he carried Pikachu along with him. "W-Woah!" "Pika!" Both Ash and Pikachu crashed into a wall from Farfetch'd swing, leaving a crater in their body shape. Twilight and the others winced at seeing them both crash into the wall as the smoke cleared. "Yeah...That's some intense power...Good job." Ash groaned while on the rocks. "Pikachu..." "Ash sure does have some high pain tolerance, doesn't he?" Fluttershy chuckled nervously while Farfetch'd walked past the ponies and baby dragon. "I think some of that's rubbing off on me. Using Rainbow-Braviary and getting hit isn't a good time, ya know." Rainbow Dash held her head. Ash slid down the wall with Pikachu as Starlight used her magic to remove the rubble from them. As they got off and cleaned themselves, Ash's Rotomphone started ringing. "Hm?" Immediately, he checked to see what was up. Since it wasn't the Xtransceiver that was ringing, that meant it had to be something related to the Pokemon World Championships. And it certainly was. "This is an official battle announcement." The Rotomphone alerted Ash. "Pika?" "Hard at work, I see?!" Right after the alert and announcement from the phone, the sound of a burly man could be heard from everyone nearby. They each collectively turned their heads to see where the origin of this sound came from. They looked up at the same wall that Ash and Pikachu had crashed into. From one of the entrances of Rock Tunnel, a man and his Gurdurr could be seen as they were coming into view after the sun beamed down on them. "Is that guy participating in the Pokemon World Championships too?" said Spike, raising his head as high as he could. "Axew?" "Hm!" And without hesitation, he and his Gurdurr jumped from the cliff, landing on the ground next to Farfetch'd. When they landed, they made the ground shake a bit with a surprisingly heavy impact. Farfetch'd remained unphased by this, however. After making their heavy landing, the burly man with a pickaxe and hard hat rushed over in the blink of an eye, suddenly putting his hands on the Wild Duck Pokemon. "Very good! It's well trained! It's irresistible." The man suddenly said while examining and holding Farfetch'd. Naturally, Farfetch'd didn't take kindly to this up-close contact on him. "Uh...H-He's not in the best mood to be touched right now!" Pinkie Pie tried to warn the man. "Far...!" But it was too late. In response, Farfetch'd was ready to swing at this new target with his leek, gripping onto it tightly. "Far!" With a mighty yell, Farfetch'd swung his leek at the burly man, causing him to back up. "Gurr!" But, in quick action, the ma's Gurdurr had rushed over, holding up his steel beam to block the incoming leek. Farfetch'd's leek smashed onto the beam afterwards, creating a spark of light that could be seen by everyone. It also made a loud ringing sound that raced through all of their ears. "Gh!" Each of them closed their ears from this metal ringing sound as Audino had taken the worst of it, as usual. Both the benefits and curses of having amazing hearing are very clear. Afterwards, the two of them separated their main weapons. "Woah...Perfect timing, Gurdurr." said the burly man as he patted his stomach. "Sorry about that kid. I was just watching your Farfetch'd. And it wields that leek well, that's for sure." "Yeah. Your Gurdurr looks like a real pro with that steel beam, ya know." Ash also complimented the man's Gurdurr. "Right. So there's only one thing to do! You're in the Great Class, aren't you, kid?" "Sure am. You too?" "Hm! I am Dozer!" The man introduced himself, spinning his giant pickaxe around frantically without even hitting himself once, showing how skilled he was with it. Gurdurr also started doing the same with his steel beam "Gurdurr and I have trained hard together! You can call me Dozer the Self-Made Man!" "Gurdurr!" "Ooh." Starlight clapped at their coordination, giving an applause for a brief moment with her hooves. It was clear that a Pokemon Battle was ready to ensue between Ash and Dozer. They gave each other determined smiles before sliding back in unison. They took their places as Twilight and the others searched for a spot to sit down on. There was a small cliff where they could all view this battle as they collectively wet over, taking their seats. And at the right time too. The Rotom Drone had arrived to spectate, announce and be the referee as always. "The Pokemon World Championships has approved this Great Class Battle!" The drone said. "The matchup is Contestant Ash VS Contestant Dozer! The battle will be a 1V1! Now! Both sides, send out your Pokemon at the same time! 3...2...1...GO!" "Let's do this, Farfetch'd!" "Go forth, Gurdurr!" They had both chosen their Pokemon already since they were out in the first place. Both Fighting-Types ran ahead of their trainers. "Far!" The Wild Duck Pokemon let out his war cry before putting his Large Leek over his back, ready for a good fight. "Gurdurr!" Gurdurr also let out his own war cry, spinning his beam around and putting it over his head, ready himself. Pinkie Pie had already gotten out some equipment to cheer Ash on. Mainly some cheerleader pompoms and a giant flag with Ash's face that she can wave all willy-nilly. While she was the only one dressed for the scenario, the others chose to show their support by just holding the flags instead. Mainly Fluttershy and Twilight. "Come on, Ash! Let's get those numbers up!" Pinkie Pie cheered while blowing on a trumpet. "Give us a good show!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as Axew ad Audino were also holding flags with Ash's face on it. All of this was courtesy of the Ash Ketchum Fanclub in Ponyville. Most Pikie Pie. "Xew-Xew! Axew!" "Audino!" "Battle start!" "Gurr!" To work themselves up, both Gurdurr and Farfetch'd started sizing each other up by slowly swinging their weapons. By doing so, they kicked up some of the sand here in Rock Tunnel. Very soon, that sand formed into a sand tornado that surrounded them both as their swings sped up. "Oh, they're sizing each other up! Nice!" Rainbow Dash grinned in approval, already knowing this was going to be an enjoyable battle. "Here we go...Night Slash!" Ash gave the first command. "Far!" Farfetch'd bolted forward, running out of the sand tornado he made while dragging his leek on the ground. A white trail of energy was already flowing out of the leek. "High Horsepower!" Dozer roared, giving off his own command. "Durr!" Gurdurr's body became surrounded by an orange aura. He then charged at the Wild Duck Pokemon, ready to slam into him with great force. "Gurr...!" "Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd then jumped to the air with his leek, swinging it downwards. The leek met with Gurdurr's steel beam which was aimed upwards to block the incoming Night Slash. A hard impact met with the beam. "Gurddur!" Gurdurr then pushed Farfetch'd's leek back after blocking it. The Muscular Pokmon gave his counter by smashing his beam into Farfetch'd's chest at full force. "Far!" One single hit and Farfetch'd was sent flying like a rocket, crashing into a wall, just like Ash and Pikachu. "Ah! Farfetch'd!" Ash gasped along with everyone else. "Durr!" Gurdurr then slid back to his Trainer. Large rubbles of rocks dropped to the ground with Farfetch'd buried deep within them. "How do you like that? Our High Horsepower!" Dozer bellowed before putting his fist out. "Tremble before the might with the skill of our steel beam!" However, the Wild Duck Pokemon quickly recovered by blowing the rocks away with no time to spare. After blowing the rocks back, he came rushing in by dragging the leek again. "Fetch-Fetch-Fetch-Fetch!" "Awesome, Farfetch'd! Use Night Slash again!" "Farfetch'd!" "Counter with Focus Blast!" "Gur...Durr!" The Muscular Pokemon held his beam with one hand and stuck the other one out. Free of the beam. He then generated a ball of mental energy while Farfetch'd summoned those same blue trails, jumping into the air once more. "Far!" With a mighty and faster swig, Galarian Farfetch'd struck Gurdurr's head before he could pull off Focus Blast, causing the Muscular Pokemon to twice afterwards. "G-Gur?!" Gurdurr then went flying, crashing into a nearby rock and breaking it apart. The Muscular Pokemon tumbled after crashing into the rock. He then met with the walls, slamming into it just like the previous individuals who had been flung at them. "Grr!" Dozer growled, turning around to see his partner against the wall. "Fury Cutter!" But Ash wasn't about to let Gurdurr take a break. "Farfetch'd!" And neither was Farfetch'd. The Galarian variant coated his leek in a green energy before dashing towards the pinned Muscular Pokemon. "On your feet, Gurdurr! Focus Blast again, and make it count!" "Durr!" Gurdurr flexed his muscles, blowing the wall behind his back as he jumped forward. He then flipped and landed on a rock mound before holding his hand out. This time, he had enough time to charge Focus Blast as he did it while flipping. Gurdurr then finally unleashed the blast of orange mental energy. "Fetch'd!" But, aiming to make sure it doesn't land, when Farfetch'd jump in the air, he used Fury Cutter to strike the sphere, destroying it. From the destruction, an explosion of smoke emerged. And out of it came a wave trail of smoke. And within that trail was Farfetch'd as he eventually separated the smoke from his body. By boosting forward, he then swung his leek in an overhead position towards Gurdurr before being met with a pre-emptive block. But since this was Fury Cutter, more than one hit was expected. After the first hit had been blocked, the power of the leek increased as Farfetch'd swung it a second time, this time to the side. Gurdurr blocked that one as well. Farfetch'd went for another strike, this time from the top again. He pressed the leek onto the Muscular Pokemon's beam before he had been pushed back by Gurdurr. Farfetch'd move in again, continuing to swing the leek as he was putting the pressure on. On and on, Farfetch'd wouldn't stop as Gurdurr was forced to keep his beam up for protection. "Keep pushing him back, Farfetch'd!" Ash yelled along with Pikachu. "Pikachu!" "Far!" And Farfetch'd did just that. He didn't let up for one second. However, even with Farfetch'd's aggressive pressure and flurry of swings, Gurdurr had blocked every single one that came his way, preventing any proper damage to him. "That's some skill!" Twilight gasped. "He's predicting every hit that Farfetch'd throws at him!" "Come on, Ash! Farfetch'd! Knock 'em silly!" Rainbow Dash roared, trying to boost Ash's skills with her cheers as her Castform joined in the cheering. "Switch it up with Night Slash!" "Fetch'd!" Farfetch'd eventually switched things up by shifting into Night Slash. The light blue crescent shapes had already formed as Farfetch'd pulled his leek back. "Gur!" Gurdurr smile as he suddenly zipped to the side the moment Farfetch'd swung his leek dow. An evasion occurred as Farfetch'ds leek hit the ground instead. "Now!" Dozer roared. "Brutal Swing!" "Gurdurr!" Gurdurr found his opening as he was ready to strike by covering his beam in a dark red aura. "Raise your leek and dodge!" "Far?" "Durr!" Too late for that. Gurdurr then swung his beam, smashing it onto the side of the Wild Duck Pokemon's face. One strike and Farfecth'd was flung like a slingshot. Once more, he crashed into the rock walls of this area, creating more smoke and rubble along the way. However, as he hit the wall, just above it and near the cliffside, someone had approached here, also arriving at the Rock Tunnel. On the cliffside, A Trainer and his Gallade were watching from above, choosing to spectate over this. Larger rubble had formed, burying Farfetch'd in it. Quickly, Ash and Pikachu alongside the Rotomdrone had rushed over to see the state of the Wild Duck Pokemon. "Farfetch'd!" Ash cried out. "Pika!" "Verifying condition." said the drone. It would make the decision and result of Farfetch'ds current state. "Scanning. Scanning. Scanning." It continued to scan as Gurdurr stood by, waiting for the result. Twilight and the others held their breath, hoping that Farfetch'd could still battle on. Especially Ash. The drone continued to scan the rubble in front of it. And thankfully, he could. Out of the rocks, an eruption of energy occurred, blowing them away. Farfetch'ds leek could be seen in the rubble as he used it to blow it away. "Yes!" Ash pumped his fist. "Awesome, Farfetch'd!" "Fetch'd!" Erupting out of the rubble with a mighty jump, Farfetch'd created an explosion of power that could be seen by everyone. His spirit was rising as he made a graceful landing, holding his leek on his back as always. This battle was still on. "Battle resume!" "Farfetch'd! Focus Energy!" "Far!" Galarian Farfetch'd's body was briefly covered in an orange glow. His strength had risen after that glow as all of his power was sent into his leek. "You good to go?" Ash asked. "Far!" With a stern smash to the ground with his leek, Farfetch'd was pumped and fully charged. He was raring to go. His eyes flared rared, glancing at his fellow Fighting-Type. The force of him smashing his leek to the ground caused cracks that had reached Gurdurr from a fairly far distance. Large rocks were also rising from the tremor, threatening to strike Gurdurr. But the Muscular Pokemon simply stopped them by slamming his beam down. One hit and it caused an explosive outburst that stopped all the rocks. There was now a visible crevice on the ground. "Very good...Looks like things are heating up!" Dozer smirked as Gurdurr told Farfetch'd to bring it on. And that just provoked Farfetch'd, causing him to act on his own instinct as he charged forward. "Farfetch'd!" "Huh?! Wait, Farfetch'd! You can't just charge in carelessly!" Ash cried out but it was too late. Farfetch'd had already set his mind on one thing as he prepared Night Slash. All the while, that same Trainer and his Gallade watched from the cliffs. "Just like Absol?" Rarity said. "Just like Absol. Guess some Pokemon really like doing things their way when they weren't caught, huh?" Twilight laughed. "Okay then...Night Slash!" "Bring it! Focus Blast!" "Durr!" The Muscular Pokemon growled before holding his hand out again, preparing for one more mental energy blast. This time, he moved his hand around, making sure to carefully aim at Farfetch'd while he was approaching. "Fire!" "Gur!" Finding the right moment, Gurdurr fired the blast of mental energy. But just as he found the right time, so did Farfetch'd. With a flash of his eye, the Wild Duck Pokemon ducked underneath the sphere, evading it. The sphere had hit a nearby rock instead. "Farfetch'd!" After Gurdurr missed, Farfetch'd capitalized. In a burst of speed, he slashed past his fellow Fighting-Type. And with that one slash, Gurdurr felt an instant strike that resembled multiple hits. An explosion of darkness happened behind him, causing him to be knocked back. "Gurdurr!" Gurdurr staggered, but he quickly recovered by maintaining his composure and momentum. "Nice hit!" Applejack cheered. "Sceptile!" "Keep it up, Ash!" Pinkie Pie aggressively blew on a trumpet, while Audino and Axe continued waving the flag around. "Gah...That really stung!" Dozer started sweating as he grumbled. Gurdurr landed on his feet afterwards. He then adjusted his beam, pointing it at Farfetch'd. "Gur..." "Far..." Farfetch'd also adjusted his leek, putting it behind his back. Then, the two Fighting-Types glared at each other as they had a moment of silence. In this moment of silence, they began pivoting their feet to the side, watching each other's movements. They then started approaching each other slowly with their pivoting feet. Neither one had struck yet. They were waiting for that opportune moment. In a sense, the two of them were perfectly synchronized when it came to their thoughts. "Alright, Farfetch'd! Let's end this and keep our streak going!" "Gurdurr and I can't lose here! We've been itching to battle many strong trainers! So let's give it our all! Bulk Up, Gurdurr!" "Gurdurr!" The Muscular Pokemon raised his beam as he started building up power and energy. An orange aura coated him as his already muscular body started bulking up with new muscles. His veins were also throbbing. "We'll power up too with Focus Energy!" "Far!" Farfetch'd also increased his own strength by jumping up and having orange streams spiral around him. The streams then enveloped his body, giving him a blazing aura as he rocketed back on the ground. Farfetch'd was stronger than ever ow with the aura fading. Once more, there was total silence between them. The Two Fighting-Types gazed at each other for one last time. And with their staredown, both of their auras were starting to show, clashing against each other. Farfetch'd had a furious red aura while Gurdurr had a bold blue aura. Like two claws clashing with each other, their aura streams went back and forth as their power was building up. "Brutal Swing!" At the same time, both Ash and Dozer yelled, giving out commands to their partners. "Farfetch'd!" "Gurdurr!" In unison, they both coated their weapons in a dark crimson aura, spinning them around with their own battle cries. They were now up in each other's faces, smashing their weapons and entering a clash. Once their weapons met, they looked each other in the eyes, trying to push through. Once they separated from each other, a back and forth clash began. With heavy hits, the two of them started clashing their weapons. Farfetch'd did a swing in the air, sending it towards Gurdurr, only for it to be evaded with Gurdurr zipping to the side. Farfetch'd then turned around, continuing his assault as he went for an overhead. Gurdurr evaded it once more by moving back. "We're not even close to done! Keep swinging!" Ash roared. "Far!" "You seriously believe a steel beam can lose to a leek?! Send 'em flying, Gurdurr!" "Gurdurr!" Gurdurr blocked Farfetch'ds incoming swing with his beam, pushing the Wild Duck Pokemon away. Farfetch'd slid on the ground before rushing back at Gurdurr. The Galarian Farfetch'd went for another swing, only to be met by a second block. The tension was rising as Twilight and everyone had no idea who was going to win this at this rate. "Gur!" With another pushback, Gurdurr raised his beam for his own overhead smash. Farfetch'd used his wings to fly back, evading the overhead. But not only did he evade the beam, when it hit the ground in a diagonal position, the Wild Duck Pokemon then landed on it. "Far!" "Push back, Farfetch'd!" "Far...!" After landing on the leek, Farfetch'd then gained a higher height with a long build-up for his leek. He had more power building up as he and Gurdurr met with their weapons once more. Gurdurr seemed to be the more defensive type here with all of his blocks while Farfetch'd was all about attacking. They had their weapons against each other as they both growled, comparing each other's raw power. "We're comparing strength? Sounds wonderful! I accept your challenge!" Dozer bellowed. They were seeing who could push through with the sheer amount of raw strength that they could exhibit. Pinkie Pie bit her hoof while also chewing on the trumpet, worried about the outcome. Everyone kept their eyes open without blinking, unsure of how this would turn out. Farfetch'd and Gurdurr kept pressing their weapons with Farfetch'd being the one to add more pressure. They were both showings signs of straining as their limbs were struggling. "F-Farfetch'd...!" "G-G-Gurdurr!" And then, to everyone's shock, Gurdurr's steal beam started to crack. "What?!" Dozer and all of them shouted. The day they could witness something as fragile as a leek deal damage to something as sturdy as a steel beam was mind-boggling. Dozer and everyone shot up after experiencing this sight. "That can't be possible!" Starlight gasped. "Far!" With one mighty yell and one final push, Farfecth'd did the impossible. He broke through the steel beam with just a leek. Gurdurr's main weapon shattered to pieces and as a result, Farfetch'd's large leek smashed into the Muscular Pokemon's head. "G-Gur!" And with a crimson explosion from the energy of Brutal Swing, Gurdurr was sent back, crying out. And with that cry, he slid on the ground. He didn't even tumble on it. The effects of Bulk Up had vanished after he fell, returning his muscles to normal. And that meant only one thing if Bulk Up had stopped. Gurdurr had fainted. "Gurdurr..." "Gurdurr is unable to battle! Farfetch'd wins! As such the winner is Contestant Ash!" The Rotomdrone announced. "Alright!" Ash let out a mighty cheer as Pikachu also cheered, hopping on his best friend's shoulder. "Pika-Pika!" "Yay!" Fluttershy showed all of her enthusiasm by flying up and flailing her hooves around while everyone else cheered and applauded Ash's victory. "He did it!" "Farfetch'd you did it!" Ash ran over to his Pokemon who was breathing in and out. "That steel beam slice was amazing!" "We went and lost..." Dozer sighed while helping Gurdurr up. "Gurr..." "Based on the results of this battle, the Pokemon World Championships rankings will be updated!" And thus, the Rotomdrone could take its leave now. "It went up!" Ash looked at his ranking on his Rotomphone. He was now ranked 381st. "381st? Marvellous, Ash!" Rarity nodded in approval. "Your name was Ash, right?" Dozer suddenly spoke to the one who defeated him. "I suppose we still have a long way to go. We'll have to start training again, Gurdurr." "Gur...Durr." Meanwhile, Gurdurr was holding two parts of his steel beam after it had been broken in half. His upset face showed that he wasn't happy about his main weapon being shattered. "Here." But, Dozer had a solution to that problem as he took the beams away. "Don't look so down, Gurdurr. I'll make you a new steel beam. Until then, you can use this." As a substitute, Dozer had given his partner the giant pickaxe that he carried around on his back. "Gurr!" But not too big for Gurdurr to carry despite the size difference. The Muscular Pokemon let out a happy smile after receiving the pickaxe. While it wasn't his steel beams, it would certainly suffice for an extra weapon as he swung it around excitedly. "D-Does that look safe?" Starlight scrunched her face, worried about the future Pokemon that might have the misfortune of going up against such a weapon. "Looks safe to me." Applejack nodded in response. "Far." Just then, Farfetch'd swung his leek on the spot, kicking up some sand while looking at Gurdurr. "Again?!" Rainbow Dash turned to face Farfetch'd. "It's got a look that screams that it's hungry for more battle!" Dozer pointed out as Farfetch'd suddenly walked away when Ash got down to face him. "Wait! Where are you going?" Ash went after Farfetch'd but was met with the leek being pointed at him, forcing Ash to stop right there. The Wild Duck Pokemon was once again heading for more practice. "Kid. He's got the eyes of a real warrior! I can tell." said Dozer as they all faced him. "His resilience is quite alluring. It's a Pokemon well worth raising!" "Gurdurr!" "You think so too?" Dozer turned to Gurdurr as the Muscular Pokemon nodded in confirmation. After that battle, why wouldn't he see that warrior spirit of Farfetch'd? "Aha, see?" Dozer chuckled. "Yeah. Thanks, Dozer!" Ash gave his last words before running off to his partner. "Wait, Ash!" Goh and the others exclaimed as they followed Ash along. Dozer and Gurdurr then gave their waves to Ash and his group, granting them their goodbyes. "See ya, kid!" "Gurdurr!" Farfetch'd continued his training with another rock smashed yet again. Even after all of that, he persisted as he went to the next rock, practising his leek swings. "Is he not tired after such a gruelling battle?" Rarity spoke. "No, he's definitely tired." nodded Fluttershy. "But I guess he has a harder time showing it." "But he's gotten closer to being a Leek Master," said Ash. "It sliced through a steel beam!" "How does that even work with a leek..?" Starlight was still trying to figure out how something like that was even possible. But Twilight gave her response with a pat on the back, knowing that this was just the absurdity of Pokemon. "You'll get used to it, Starlight." As Farfetch'd kept swinging his leek, practising his handiwork, or wing-work in this case, he suddenly stopped his movements. His eye flashed, moving to the side as he had sensed someone approaching. And someone did approach and afterwards. From high up, the same Gallade that was watching the battle hand descended to the ground, appearing before everyone else. "Oh! A Gallade!" Rainbow Dash gasped. "A wild one? Alright, that's a free catch!" Goh took out his Poke Ball. "I'm afraid that's my partner." But of course, he had been interrupted by the actual owner of Gallade. And that owner was the same person who had watched Ash and Dozer's battle from high up on a cliff. This Trainer jumped down from the cliff, landing right in front of everyone. "You're rather inadequate." And with such a calm demeanour too as he spoke to Ash. "Huh?" "I was observing your battle." He replied, walking by Ash and the others. "Your Farfetch'd. It was rough and unrefined and didn't seem at all aware of its surroundings. But due to sheer power, it won despite its inadequacy." "Ah!" Rarity scoffed. "Rude!" "What do you mean?!" Rainbow Dash narrowed. "Farfetch'd did awesome in that battle and won!" "Are you here to offer advice?" said Goh. "Perhaps..." He then went up to Farfetch'd nonchalantly. "Even I don't know why I felt compelled to come and lecture you. I just couldn't let you be." "Lecture?" Starlight's eyes widened before narrowing. "Why you...You listen here, pal!" "Starlight. Don't." Twilight quickly stopped Starlight from enacting something hostile. "Hi there, Farfetch'd. My name's Rinto." The Trainer revealed his name, kneeling to face the Wild Duck Pokemon. "I am this Gallade's Trainer. How would you like to battle us?" Farfetch'd like the sound of that as he turned around to face Gallade. He also aimed his leek at the Blade Pokemon, accepting the challenge. "You're up for it, Farfetch'd?" Ash asked. "Pika?" He certainly was. Immediately, both Trainers and their Pokemon took their places, standing on opposite sides. This was a Pokemon World Championships match so no rankings would be affected by this point. "Farfetch'd doesn't seem to understand that which is most essential," said Rinto. "Most essential?" Ash repeated. "Part of battling is learning what that is. Here we go, Gallade." Rinto was ready as he delivered a holding blade pose which Gallade mimicked. "Gallade." "Okay. Farfetch'd! Show them how strong you are! Let's go with Night Slash!" "Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd went first, dragging his leek and surrounding it with light blue blades. He then jumped into the air, swinging the leek down. But with one hit, Gallade had simply blocked the attack by keeping his hand in the same stance as Rinto's own hand. That block not only negated Farfetch'ds attack, but it also made the Wild Duck Pokemon hit the ground instead, suddenly rebounding him. "F-Fetch'd!" "How'd he do that?!" Spike leaned forward as Gallade didn't even move his hand for that. "Far!" Farfetch'd persisted, however. He went for another swing to see if he could land a hit this time. But as he swung his second hit, Gallade simply moved to the side casually, not trying that much in all honesty. Farfetch'd kept swinging as he went for another hit, only to be met by more evasions from Gallade. The Psychic-Fighting-Type had short-hopped, ducked, swayed or raised one leg to avoid every single hit, despite how fast Farfetch'd was moving. "Keep it up until you find an opening, Farfetch'd!" "Far! Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd kept swinging his leek, only for Gallade to evade them even more by moving his head when it was attacked. Eventually, Farfetch'd did find an opening. He struck his leek one second before Gallade, finding that opening and potential hit he needed. However, even though he found it, Gallade reacted fast enough to put his hand up and block the hit. And with that block, he moved his hand forward, pushing his fellow Fighting-Type away. "Far!" "Brutal Swing!" "Fetch'd!" Farfetch'd took a slight moment to breathe before moving back in there with his leek being coated dark red. "Double Edge!" Rinto gave a command at last. "Gallade!" One of Gallade's arm blades glowed light green and extended. As Farfetch'd swung the leek, Gallade found his own opening. With superior speed, the Blade Pokemon slashed Farfetch'ds chest, interrupting Brutal Swing. The slash was so strong that not only did it knock Galarian Farfetch'd away, making him fall on his back, but it also left a visible red mark on his chest. "Ah! Farfetch'd!" "F-Far...!" Farfetch'd groaned as he flipped over. He hadn't fainted yet but that damage was potent. He was straining as he tried to reach his leek that had fallen out of his hold. He didn't want to quit here as Gallade retracted his blade. Unfortunately, since he had such a gruelling battle with Dozer and Gurdurr earlier, he wasn't at full power. Thus, he couldn't reach his leek. "It's over." Rinto declared. "Farfetch'd!" Ash ran over, picking the Wild Duck Pokemon up and holding him. "Hang in there!" "Your Farfetch'd holds massive potential. Shame about its inadequacy." Rinto spoke. "Should we ever meet again, I hope to see you battling in unison. Shall we go, Gallade?" "Gallade." "Tch." Applejack grizzled her teeth while Rinto and Gallade walked away. "Who does he think he is I should take that blade of his Gallade and-" But before Applejack could go off the rails, Ash stood up with Farfetch'd, causing everyone to look at him. Even after that defeat, he kept a smile on his face as always. Ash already knew what he needed to do. Equestria. Ponyville. The Pokemon House. Afternoon. "Okay! Let's do this!" Ash suddenly raised a leek in his hand as they had all returned to the Pokemon House. "Pikachu!" Pikachu also did the same, holding a leek in his own hand. "Huh? Leeks?" Twilight said. "Far?" "Farfetch'd! We won't let up! We'll definitely beat that guy the next time we meet, ya hear? Let's train together!" Ash was always showing his enthusiasm and drive to improve alongside his friends. "But...why leeks?" Spike asked. "Rinto said he wanted us to battle in unison. So if we train with leeks, maybe I'll understand Farfetch'd better." Ash gave his own explanation. "I mean...That's how your logic works Ash." Twilight laughed nervously. "His logic works all the time so why not?" Applejack shrugged. "Aim to be a Leek Master!" Ash raised the leek. "Pika-Pikachu!" "Farfetch'd!" And Farfetch'd was definitely on board with this. He and Ash truly had something special that was about to bore fruit. They have decided that they will meet the mysterious Trainer Rinto and his Gallade again. And of course, they'll be pumped to show them what they're capable of next time as the journey continues.
