//------------------------------// // Yuuki Onna / Snow Woman (Part 3) // Story: What if Mavis was a: // by darkmage1997 //------------------------------// Having toured most of Ponyville, Twilight decided Mavis should have her own Pokemon, and was bringing her over to see Will, "Don't worry Mavis. Will is a very nice person, and I'm sure he'll have some nice Pokemon for you to take as your own," Twilight said. "Is it really alright to do so?" Mavis asked cautiously. "Of course. Will is our friend, and he has plenty of baby Pokemon running around," Twilight said, as they arrived at Will's ranch house. In the front, they saw Cindy, sweeping off the porch. "Oh, hey Twilight, what brings you out here?" Cindy asked. "We have a new friend in our circle of friends, but she's a bit shy and timid, so we were wondering if Will had any baby Pokemon that could help her out?" Twilight asked. "Oh, sure! Will is around the back," Cindy said, pointing to the side of the house. "Thank you!" Twilight said, as she led Mavis around the house. There, on the porch, grooming one of his Liepard, was Will. "There you go, Liepard, you're all clean now," Will said. "Thanks Will," Liepard said, as she pranced off. Will then noticed Twilight and Mavis. "Oh, hey there, Twilight. What brings you out here?" Will asked. "Will, this is Mavis. She's new to Equestria, and is having some trouble opening up. We were hoping you had some baby Pokemon that could help her to open up?" Twilight asked. "Oh sure. There are plenty of Baby Pokemon over in the nursery that I'm sure would be thrilled to have someone to take care of them. Are there any particular ones you want to get her?" Will asked. "Well, here's the thing about Mavis. She's actually something that Raiden and Icezer called a 'Yuuki Onna', if I recall correctly, which is some kind of snow spirit, so maybe ones that are resistant to the cold?" Twilight asked. "Hmm, perhaps some Ice Types would prove beneficial. I also have a few Togepi and some other Pokemon that are good in colder climates. Let's step over to the nursery and take a look," Will said, as he led the two of them over to the nursery. "Now Mavis, Will is going to show a bunch of wonderful Pokemon for you to choose from, so don't feel too pressured, alright?" Twilight asked. "O-Ok," Mavis quietly said, as they entered the Nursery. "We'll need to do a bit of walking to reach the Ice Type section," Will said, as they continued to walk through the nursery. They soon came up to a large door. Will went over to a nearby closet, and pulled out two heavy looking parkas, "Here Twilight, you may want to put this on," he said, giving Twilight one of them. "What are these for?" Twilight asked, as Will opened up the big door, which released a powerful gust of ice, cold wind, "Ah, now I see." "This feels so nice," Mavis commented, enjoying the cold air. Inside, both she and Twilight were amazed to see a completely different environment. It looked exactly like a snowy forest. They saw some Pokemon playing in icy water, while others were wandering about. "As you can see, i isolate the Ice Type Pokemon, or other Pokemon that prefer colder climates to help with their comfort. Take a look around here for a little bit Mavis, while I go find some Togepi that I can give you," Will said, as he left the two of them alone in the snowy environment. "This reminds me of my home village," Mavis said, as she plopped face first into a pile of snow, enjoying every bit of the cold feeling. "Come along now Mavis, why don't we have a look over near the water?" Twilight suggested. "Oui," Mavis replied, as they walked over to the ice floe pool. There, they saw several Piplup, along with some seal Pokemon, a larger, pleisosaur like Pokemon with a shell on it's back. Around the banks of the water, they also saw some little yellow cone shaped Pokemon, little floating Pokemon that looked like ice cream, a small, polar bear like Pokemon with a drippy nose, and some sauropod Pokemon with frills that looked like they would glow like an aurora. "Already quite a few Pokemon to choose from. Let me get my Rotom Phone out," Twilight said, pulling out her Rotom Phone. "Piplup, the Penguin Pokemon, a Water Type. Because of it's pride, it doesn't like accepting food from others. It's thick down protects it from the cold. Seel, the Sea Lion Pokemon, a Water Type. A Pokemon that lives on icebergs, it swims in the sea using the horn on it's head to break up any ice. Spheal, the Clap Pokemon, a Water and Ice Type. They can't swim well yet, and move better by rolling. When they are happy, they clap fins. Snorunt, the Snow Hat Pokemon, an Ice Type. It is said that any house that Snorunt visits or lives in will be blessed with good fortune. Lapras, the Transport Pokemon, a Water and Ice Type. This very intelligent Pokemon is able to understand human speech, and will farry people across large bodies of water. Once on the verge of extinction, there is now an overabundance of them. Cubchoo, the Chill Pokemon, an Ice Type. It sniffles before executing an attack, using it's frosty snot to provide an icy element to any move that needs it. Amaura, the Tundra Pokemon, an Ice and Rock Type. In ancient times, it lived in colder climates to avoid predetors like Tyrunt and Tyrantrum. It is said that when Amaura whinnies, auroras appear in the night sky," Twilight's Rotom Phone explained. "They all sound perfect!" Mavis exclaimed quietly. "Well, then let's see if they'll want to go with you then," Will said, returning with an egg shapped Pokemon, with red and blue triangle markings on it's shell, "Speaking of which, Mavis, this Pokemon's name is 'Togepi'. It likes to share the happiness energy in it's shell with kind hearted individuals," he explained, giving Mavis the Spike Ball Pokemon. But as soon as Mavis got a hold of Togepi, it wrestling out of her hands, and shivered. "Hmm, maybe we should talk to Raiden about getting you some thermal insulated gloves. That way, you can hold Togepi all you want," Twilight said. "In any case, I also brought some Pokeballs," Will said, giving Mavis a handful of different Pokeballs, "Just press the button on the Pokeballs to make them bigger, and use them to catch those Pokemon," he explained. Mavis took a Dusk Ball, and pressed the button, enlargening it, "Hey guys, can some of you come over here?" he then called out to the Pokemon by and in the water. They all came over to him, "Alright guys, this is Mavis. Starting today, she would like to be your trainer," he said. The Pokemon all looked at Mavis curiously, which caused her to tense up a bit. One of the Amaura, a white one, came up, and nuzzled her cheek. "She's so cold!" the Amaura commented. "This may be a bit hard to believe, but she's a snow spirit called a 'Yuuki Onna', which means she's going to be very cold," Twilight replied. "We love the cold!" a Snorunt exclaimed happily. "And it's quite the coincidence that Mavis likes the cold too," Twilight replied. "So, what do you all say?" Will asked. "YES!" they all said, including Togepi. "Well, they've given their concent, Mavis, so now you can catch them," Will said. Mavis then used the Pokeballs on each of the baby Pokemon, "One more thing, take this with you, and use it on your Female Snorunt," he said, giving Mavis a teal colored stone, "Using that will enable it to evolve into a Froslass," he explained. "Ok, now which one had the Snorunt?" Mavis tried to remember which Pokeball had her Snorunt. "I think it was these two," Twilight said, grabbing a Dusk Ball and a Nest Ball. Mavis then released both of her Snorunt. "Uh, so how exactly do this work?" Mavis asked. "Just tap it Snorunt. it'll do the rest," Will explained. Mavis did so on one Snorunt, with no reaction, then she used it on her other one, which caused it to evolve into the ghostly Froslass. "In addition to those insulated gloves, we'll have to see if Raiden of Francisco can do something about your room, making it warm for Togepi, and cold for you and your other Pokemon," Twilight said. "Well, in any case, you now have Pokemon that can help with your happiness, and help keep you cold," Will stated. "Merci," Mavis said. "Yes, thank you for doing this for us, Will," Twilight said. "No problem. I'll give you some notes on how to take care of your Pokemon," Will said, as they left the Nursery.
