People start filling up seats while listening to the orchestra being assembled. There were people who played bowed string instruments such as the violin, the viola, the cello, the double bass, and the harp, people who played woodwinds such as the flute, the oboe, the clarinet, and the bassoon, people who played brass instruments such as the horn, the trumpet, the trombone, and the tuba, and people who played percussion instruments such as the timpani, the snare drum, the bass drum, the cymbals, the triangle, the tambourine, and people who played mallet percussion instruments such as the xylophone, the glockenspiel, and the bells. When the orchestra was assembled, Mr. V stepped foward along with dapper gentleman in formal attire.
(Pause at 1:50)
"How do you do?" The gentleman said. "My name is Deems Taylor."
"And I am Mr. V" Mr. V replied. "And it's our very pleasant duty to welcome you here on behalf of Walt Disney, Leopold Stokowski and all the other artists and musicians from Hasbro and Disney whose combined talents went into the creation of the third installment in our series, Equestria Girls: Disney Odyssey: Fantasia."
"What you're going to see are the designs and pictures and stories that music inspired in the minds and imaginations of a group of artists." Deems stated.
"In other words, these are not going to be the interpretations of trained musicians, which I think is all to the good." Mr. V replied.
"Now, before we start the story, you should know that there are three kinds of music on this program." Deems explained. "First, there's the kind that tells a definite story. Then there's the kind, that while it has no specific plot, does paint a series of more or less definite pictures. Then there's a third kind, music that exists simply for its own sake."
"And with that, we'll begin our story." Mr. V concluded with a bow.
Our story begins one afternoon when the Rainbooms, Trinity and Jiminy Cricket joined the rest of the students in a assembly arranged by Principal Celestia for a big announcement.
"Attention everyone." She said. "I am very happy to announce that we will be having our first ever Canterlot High School concert." This announcement made everyone interested, except for Rainbow Dash, who was just a little concerned. "We'll start practicing tomorrow, and will have the concert in 2 months. That should give you more then enough time to pick your ideal instrument and perform with it in flawless beauty." Our heroes then met at Trinity's house to discuss the event.
"This is pretty exciting, us all being in a concert and all, ain't it?" Applejack asked in equal excitement.
"Yeah, exciting." Rainbow Dash said, not shairing Applejack's enthusiasm.
"What ever is the matter, Rainbow Dash?" Rarity asked in curiosity.
"I'm gonna be honest with you guys." Rainbow Dash said in embarressment. "I've never played in a concert ever in my life."
"What are you talking about?" Sunset asked in confusion. "You perform a lot all the time with the Rainbooms."
"Well it's different." Rainbow Dash said. "I played to my own rhythem. As part of a concert, I'd have to follow someone else's lead."
At that moment, the group heard a concert playing in the kitchen, conducted by Sheldon the cat. This concert consisted of tomatos, cucumbers, asparagus, gourds, peas, and many other vegetables all playing a rather fancy sounding musical number, and Sheldon was conducting them with poise and finess. The band was playing some very swingin' music, worthy of a group of looney toons. At the end of the concert, the vegetables returned to the fridge after bowing to the audience as Sheldon turned to the group.
"What do you think of my veggie band?" He asked. "I think above of the rest, they'll stand."
"It was beautiful." Fluttershy said. "And you conducted it so well."
"Yeah, how did you learn how to conduct so well?" Twilight asked.
"I obtained this skill in a world musically made." Sheldon answered. "If it were a class I'd have a good grade. The Symphony of Sorcery, it is called. Memories from there are greatly recalled."
"Do think we can find out what we are good at there?" Trinity asked. "There's a big concert coming, and we'd need to know what instrument is fit for us."
"Why sure, you can find your talent there!" Sheldon answered. "The results will give you grins to bear!" The group then went to map, as it glowed an showed a world filled by musical notes, with a mountain surrounded by water. A logo beneath it showed that is was indeed called Symphony of Sorcery.
"That must be it!" Jiminy said in excitement. "This will be my first time in a new world."
"It sure will be!" Sunset said. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get going!" The group then entered the portal to begin their quest of musical proportions.
