//------------------------------// // Letting the Fists talk instead of Me... // Story: Displaced Brawler of Equestria (RWBY x MLP Displaced Story!) // by Ocelot the Devil //------------------------------// Natsu had to admit that the books that she brought back were very interesting to read. She was immersed in the Equestrian lore and the backstory of the land. But the one tale that intrigued her most was the tale of the two sisters - Celestia and Luna. According to the legend, the two sisters ruled Equestria in peace and harmony while raising the sun and moon respectfully. As time went on, the younger became jealous of the older and in the process turned into an evil being called Nightmare Moon. Celestia had no choice but to use the Elements of Harmony to banish her to the moon. A very sad tale but one which Natsu learned a very important lesson: “Never allow your jealousy to get the better of you lest you wish for the consequences to be severe.” Although in retrospect, Natsu couldn’t entirely blame Luna since she was the youngest sibling. All she wanted was some affection and love from her subjects like her elder sibling but instead she had gotten herself wound up being too jealous and turning into a monster. Natsu made a mental note to be aware of her own behavior and not let her emotions get the better of her. Speaking of emotions, she had another peaceful dinner alongside Fluttershy and her hormones started flaring up. Natsu did her best to ignore it yet it couldn’t be accomplished. She was starting to become closer to the pinkette and the signs were there. The blonde had to wonder if it was love at first sight… who knows? If it was… then she was hoping Flutters would accept. After dinner, she grabbed another book and started to read but paused after a while to draft out a plan for the next day. First she would have some breakfast and then she decided on getting some fresh air while she thought about how to best train herself. She would have to pick a quiet spot in order to practice some flashy moves with her shotgun gauntlets. As they often say: Practice makes Perfect! She wondered if Fluttershy could be her referee since that would allow Natsu to not do anything stupid and also… spending some quality time with the pinkette. A grin started to crawl on her lips as she couldn’t help but picture the training regiment being more like a date than an actual exercise routine. With a fluttering heart, Natsu put the book away and closed her eyes as slumber began to overtake her. She had a feeling that tomorrow would definitely be interesting for her. (The next day - the old castle of the royal pony sisters…) “You sure you want me to referee you, Natsu? I can fetch Twilight since she’s a much better coach than I am.” Fluttershy told her as she had donned a cap along with a white shirt, a set of tennis shorts and socks with sneakers while holding a stopwatch and a whistle. “I’m sure. Besides, I figured you’d like to watch me practice a little bit… gotta keep up my strength in case any more creatures like Discord show up.” Natsu told her. “Hmm… do you really need the practice? I don’t think you’re strong enough to move quickly.” Fluttershy said with a smug look. Natsu slumped her shoulders in disappointment. “Hey… I’m here, you know.” In response to that, Fluttershy giggled. “I know, I’m just teasing you, dummy. I might be the Element of Kindness but I’m not devoid of humor.” “Ha, ha, ha… very funny.” Natsu deadpanned while shaking her head before continuing. “So, how careful should I be around this place?” “Well, you have the run of the place since its just simple ruins… however don’t go too far. Twilight often comes at times to explore the castle for any signs of the past.” Natsu nodded. “Alright. I’ll do my best but there are no guarantees... Now let’s see…” She looked around for her first target - something non-lethal and safe to make sure that this castle didn’t collapse and incur Twilight’s wrath or anyone else’s for that matter. Sadly, the entrance hall didn’t seem to be offering anything decent. “Hmmm, nothing… maybe another room would offer better results.” Natsu decided. She and Fluttershy proceeded onward and started investigating some rooms to see if there was anything that could be used for Natsu’s gauntlets. But sadly, the furniture was either destroyed or missing which annoyed the blonde. However they didn’t give up and soon found themselves in a library where a couple of tables and chairs were in perfect working condition. Good… now she could let her fists do the talking. “Alright, this seems like a good spot to practice… I’ll do my best not to burn any of the books in this… library… I think.” Natsu promised. “Just don’t go too overboard, alright?” “I know, I know… first things first…” Natsu began setting up all the chairs and tables in a proper order as Fluttershy watched in anticipation. She couldn’t help but keep her eyes on the blonde while she was pushing furniture all around… it was an admiration. Again, the pinkette’s hormones flared up. Ever since meeting her, Fluttershy felt so much loyalty and attraction to Natsu. She wondered if the blonde was also feeling the same type of emotions that she was. God, she hoped that was the case… It had been a lot of hard work and stubbornness to hide her sexuality in high school and Ponyville but the signs were there. She did an attempt to date a boy her age one time yet she found herself discouraged and decided to try hopping the fence. It was like a breath of relief on a crowded subway train… And yet her luck in dating women was very low… at least until she had set her eyes on Natsu who was no doubt a lesbian in her book. Could it be that she was the ‘ONE’ that she had been searching for all these years? If that was the case, then she had to acquire the bravery when confessing. Natsu grunted as she finished moving the furniture and smiled at all her hard work. “Great! Now I can finally get down to business…” She rubbed her hands together and grinned as the furniture was set up in a way that wouldn’t be life-threatening and would only serve as target practice for her gauntlets. “Alright… now it’s time I get down to business.” Fluttershy nodded and looked at the stopwatch. “We’ll start off with your moves… how fast you can reach the furniture without using your weapons and then hitting some of the tables.” “Right.” Natsu gave her a nod. She took a few feet away from the furniture and took a deep breath before preparing herself and activating her gauntlet. She wasn’t planning on using them just yet… Fluttershy looked at the watch and positioned her thumb over the green-colored ON button. “Alright… ready… set… GO!” She activated the timer. Then her eyes looked at Natsu who rushed as fast as possible to the first section of furniture that were aligned together. She clashed her gauntlets together and started beating on the wooden furniture very easily. Fluttershy noted that she was doing a good job… and yet she sensed that Natsu was using her aggression as a weapon as well. Although anger was a good way to release all of the stress in you, it would also be a way to an easy defeat. Once the first section was nearly destroyed, Natsu calmed down and sighed. “How many seconds?” Fluttershy’s thumb clashed down onto the red-colored OFF button and checked the time. “17.6 seconds… not bad. Although… if I may…” “Yes?” Natsu raised a brow. “I noticed that the anger building up in you often makes you more powerful… it’s a good weapon to have… but it will also make you more open to enemies." Fluttershy explained. Fluttershy's comment had made Natsu pause. It did brought up a good question in regards to her ability in using her anger as a power up. How come she often got stronger when she ended up being angry? Was it a built in ability inside her own body? She had to assume that was the case. “Natsu?” Fluttershy spoke once more upon seeing that Natsu fell silent all of a sudden. The blonde shook her head and blinked at the pinkette. “Are you alright? You seemed to have trailed off for a moment.” Fluttershy asked. Natsu nodded. “Yeah… just a little disoriented.” “Do you want to stop?” Fluttershy asked only for Natsu to shake her head. “I still need practice. If I’m ever up against any serious opponents, I’ll have to be prepared at all costs. Although… I'll have to be careful on how I use my anger. The last thing that I need is to go overboard and do something stupid.” Fluttershy nodded before deciding on a new test. "Very well. Let's give it another go. If possible, try to keep your emotions in check, kay?" The question had received a nod from the blonde. A few seconds later, Natsu was right back at the starting line and keeping her emotions in check. Fluttershy raised the watch and held the thumb over the green button. “Ready, Natsu?” “Yeah! Let’s get started!” Natsu got into position as Fluttershy prepared the watch. “Ready… set… GO!” She activated the green button. Natsu charged forward while keeping her emotions in check. Once she got to the furniture she started to punch them while Fluttershy kept watch. However, she did notice that her punches and attacks were very weak. Even without the use of her gauntlet, Natsu couldn’t build up the pressure that was used to defeat Discord. Interesting. After a while Fluttershy turned off the timer and looked at the watch. “Hmm… this time it’s 22.6 seconds… seems like you’re a lot weaker without the use of your anger as a weapon.” Natsu gave a nod. “So… without the use of anger, I’m weaker?” “It would seem so… this is definitely a step back… we’ll have to find some way to teach you how to power you up without you turning into a rage monster.” “Right… Now how about we test out the gauntlets?” Fluttershy nodded as Natsu activated her weapon gauntlet and prepared for the next phase of the training regiment. The pinkette activated the timer and watched as the woman of her dreams practiced firing the shells at the furniture that was rearranged. *BANG!* Another shell was fired at a chair which was destroyed followed by another at a table. Natsu then clashed her fists together and started firing multiple shells at tables and chairs. Fluttershy watched her and memorized every little detail in her mind… however she was wondering what would happen once the shells had depleted. They’d have to find an alternative source if Natsu wanted to use the gauntlets more than once. But little did they know that the gauntlets had the uncanny ability to replenish the missing ammo after they had been previously used. Natsu and Fluttershy would definitely be asking questions that held no answers. The training regiment had continued all the way until the early afternoon. Once it was over, Natsu and Fluttershy packed up and headed home to get some food in their bellies. “That was a fun regiment…” Natsu admitted and stretched her arms. “Agreed. It definitely was something… to be honest, I found the whole thing… enchanting. How you trained hard… this whole thing was almost like a date when you think about it.” However when the words left her mouth both Fluttershy and Natsu blushed at the thought that this was a date… were they on the same page as the other? “A-anyways…” “Y-yeah…” They just smiled sheepishly at one another and headed home while keeping their hormones in check despite the obvious spark that they were feeling at the current moment. For now, all they wanted was some food and rest before they continued on with the rest of their duties for the day...
