Day 17
Trix-Clone volunteered to respond to the rescue request. Despite warnings of danger, she insisted she could handle it alone. Answered concerns with a show of psychic power: the psytrainer she had obtained from the Fallen Empire manifested into a “Pain Block” technique. She claimed to be able to resist pain to a higher degree. Flutter-Clone reminded her that a clean shot through the brain did not hurt, but was still lethal.

Suspect that cranial injury to the prefrontal cortex is now inhibiting mood regulation. Trix-Clone may be acting on emotion, trying to “prove” herself. Or she is just being herself. Inconclusive.

During travel preparations, Trix-Clone repeatedly altered supply count. Low and medications, low on food. Unsure of what to bring. All packaged survival meals have been depleted. Rice stores: due to blight, currently inadequate.

Novel idea: nutrient paste. Source of raw material, undisclosed to colonists. Installed simple designs for a machine to process meat proteins into digestible amino-acid paste for pony consumption.

Results: Palatable.

Further results: Flutter-Clone experienced a small mental break due to eating an “awful” meal. Meal tastes fine to this unit. Thought it was sufficient for energy needs.

Trix-Clone elected to wait a day longer until Flutter-Clone recovered. Commendable. Trix-Clone tended to crops and cleaned up the colony while this unit constructed a genetics work table. Plan to investigate generating cloning material, in the event of irreparable or lethal injury to one of the clones.

Later, the prisoner Mosquito escaped. This unit hunted down the prisoner. Mosquito died from multiple shot wounds. Shame.

Prisoner protein, however, should make no difference to the nutrient paste dispenser. Will try not to tip off Flutter-Clone.

Flutter-Clone found out and is suffering stress from cannibalism. Must prepare for more mental breaks.

Day 18
In the morning, an unusual metal pod crashed from the sky. Some beings in this Rimworld seem capable of great feats of travel. Space? One wonders how far.

A curious creature. Mammalian male of unknown species. Dark-coloured skin with multiple tattoos and horns around the crown of the skull. Scan of the pod’s intact data identifies this species as a “Zabrak,” escaping some kind of war among the stars, referred as the "Star Wars." Addendum to the data labels the species as “property of the Mouse.”

Such strange creatures, this Rimworld has.

Recovered the Zabrak, named “Seducer” according to the last of the pod records, and placed him in a new bedroom. Assumed creature was concussed from the crash, however he displays symptoms of paralytic abasia. He is fully immoble and unconscious. Without further medical androids, cannot assess the extent of the condition.

Can, however, harvest both eyes. He’s not using them, anyway.

Detected unusual tension from colonists. To ensure unity, this unit maintained close observation of both clones. Overheard conversation in storage room, and the cause of tension was elucidated.

Flutter-Clone tried to woo Trix by making an observation about honesty. Trix became aroused and agreed to become Flutter-Clone’s lover. Requested to be assigned a double bed. Was not aware of clones’ ability to love, but any morale boost is welcomed.

Day 19
Trix-Clone left in the morning with two packages of medicine and foraged berries, attempting to rescue Xavier. Perhaps brash action was the result of, or cause, of previous romantic entanglement.

Cannot report on Trix-Clone’s success until her return.

Can report that Zabraks have harvestable kidneys.

Summary:
Resources running low. Solutions available, but generate stress among colonists. Organ harvesting treatments have yet to prove profitable: no available traders yet. Perhaps should leave the colony to initiate trading.

PS: Generated the first ampule of genetic material from parts of the dead prisoner Mosquito as a test of the genetics workbench. Given time, successful cloning may elevate the colony’s success.
