Luna couldn’t help but walk out of the stadium with a smile on her face, sure she felt bad for Audaz for beating him, but it also felt good to win. When she meet up with James and the others, they congratulated her on her victory. Celestia was especially proud of her little, she didn’t understand what it meant to be a trainer but she was still proud.
When it came to Shadow and Lumi’s battle, both of them won and advanced to the next round where Luna had to battle Shadow the next day. The battle with Shadow was something Luna wanted to win, she hadn’t won against him once, the best result she had against him was a draw and that was their first battle. Then the day arrived.
Sunset managed to crush her opponent, it was a girl named Mira and she managed to beat two of Sunset’s Pokémon, only two. The poor girl was devastated and Sunset didn’t care at all. Then it was Luna and Shadow’s turn and the winner of this match would go on and face Sunset in the next battle.
Both trainer was ready to battle and the first battlefield was ice, Luna was first up. “Let’s got Onix.” Out came the rock snake Pokémon.
Then it was Shadow turn. “Let’s do this Floatzel.” Out came an orange Pokémon that was standing on two legs and had a life jacket around its neck?
Luna hadn’t seen that one before so she decided to see the data.
Floatzel the sea weasel Pokémon. it floats using its well developed flotation sac. It assists in the rescues of drowning people.
Luna decided to make the first move. “Use stealth rock.” Onix send away six rock that landed around Floatzel.
Celestia and the girls didn’t understand why Luna did that, then James told them that stealth rock was like spikes that Luna used in her last battle.
Back to the battle, Shadow decided to attack. “Use water gun.” Floatzel attack with water from its mouth.
“Doge it by using dig.” Onix managed to dig a hole in the ground so Floatzel attack missed.
There was one move that all trainer hated and the was dig, no one would know where or when the attack could come. Then all off sudden the ground started to move under Floatzel and the Onix came up sending the sea weasel up in the air.
“Use sonic boom.”
Floatzel managed to straighten himself up while in the air and then he used his tail to send away two attack from its tail which struck Onix, the rock snake Pokémon too some damage.
Luna then decided to call back Onix while Floatzel landed on the ground, she then got ready her next Pokémon. “You’re up Ivysaur.” Out came the seed Pokémon ready for battle. “Use razor leaf.” Ivysaur send away leaf’s towards its opponent.
“Use aqua jet to avoid the attack.” Water surrounded Floatzel as he rocket towards Ivysaur while avoiding the attack, then he hit the seed Pokémon right in the head. “Use ice fang.” The water disappeared and the ice appeared in Floatzel’s mouth, he then bite down on Ivysaur hurting him.
“Use petal dance.” Ivysaur attack with pink petals and this attack was up close so Floatzel had no were to run, he was hit so hard he flew backwards. “Now, use another razor leaf.” Ivysaur attack again and since Floatzel was in the air, the attack hit. Floatzel landed on the ground with stars in his eyes.
“Floatzel is unable to battle, Ivysaur is the winner.” The judge announced.
Shadow couldn’t believe it, he didn’t think that he would lose a Pokémon this fast. He called back Floatzel and got ready his next Pokémon. “Let’s do this Altaria.” Out came a yellow Pokémon who had white clouds as wings. When the Pokémon came out it was hurt by Onix’s stealth rock.
Luna had to see the data.
Altaria the humming Pokémon and the evolved form of Swablu. Altaria dances and wheels through the sky among billowing, cotton like clouds. By singing melodies in its crystal clear voice, this Pokémon makes its listeners experience dreamy wonderment.
Luna remember Swablu, she saw that Pokémon when she battle Shadow for the first time, when Eevee got hurt. She couldn’t think about that now, she had to focus on the battle right now.
When it came to the ponies on the stand, Rarity was smitten by Altaria’s beauty, Fluttershy thought that was the most pretty Pokémon she had ever seen while Pinkie wonder if Altaria’s wings would tased good, James wanted to punch her in the face of that comment.
Back to the battle, Luna called back Ivysaur and got ready her third Pokémon. “You’re up Gabite.” Out came the cave Pokémon. “Use dragon claw.” Gabite’s claw started to glow as he ran towards Altaria.
“Fly up.” Altaria started to flap its wings and as Gabite was about to attack, she flew up. “Use dragon dance.” Altaria started to dance around in the sky and then she glowed, Luna knew what that meant. “Use dragon pulse.” Altaria attack with a beam from its mouth.
“Doge it.” Gabite managed to jump backwards so he didn’t get hit. “Use draco meteor.” Gabite’s stomach started to glow and then he send up a ball of energy that explode in the air sending small comets towards the ground.
“Doge them.” Altaria started to fly around in the air avoiding the comets, unfortunately one of the hit her in the back, she headed towards the ground but managed to straighten herself up to avoid crashing into the ground. “Use wing attack.” While close to the ground Altaria’s wings started to glow and then she flew towards Gabite who had no time to doge, he was hit and he landed on the ground
“Use dragon claw.” Gabite manged to get up pretty quick as his claw started to glow, he then ran towards Altaria ready to strike.
“Dragon pulse.” Altaria fired a beam from its mouth.
Gabite managed to doge the attack and before Shadow could react he struck Altaria. ”Keep using dragon claw.” Gabite keep on attack and Altaria had nowhere to go, Gabite delivered the final blow and it was enough to knock out the humming Pokémon.
“Altaria is unable to battle, Gabite is the winner.” The judge announced.
Shadow couldn’t believe it, Luna had already knock out two of his Pokémon, she is much stronger than last time they battle. Shadow wasn’t about to give up, he called back Altaria and got ready his next Pokémon. “You’re up Steelix.” Out came the iron snake Pokémon ready for battle, he was also hit by stealth rock but it didn’t look like Steelix was hurt at all.
Celestia and the girls was just amazed by Steelix’s side, Celestia look at the data.
Steelix the iron snake Pokémon and the evolved form of Onix. Steelix lives even further underground than Onix. This Pokémon is known to dig towards the earth’s core. There are records of this Pokémon reaching a depth of over six tenths of a mile underground.
When Dash heard the data, she had to open her big mouth. “Wait a minute, if Onix evolves to Steelix then why haven’t Luna’s Onix evolved?”
“That’s because Luna’s Onix don’t want to evolve, not every Pokémon want to evolve.”
“Can’t she just force Onix to evolve? I had done it.”
That got Ace and Lumi to look at Dash in horror while James got up, he then turned around to face Dash with anger in his eyes, he then pointed at the exit. “Get the hell out.”
Dash’s eyes widen. “Why?”
“Because you sounded just like Sunset right now, to force a Pokémon to evolved is not right and I will not have anyone who thinks that, either you get out or I will have security to throw you out.”
Dash decided to not cause any more trouble so she just got up and left, her friends didn’t try and say anything because they didn’t want to get into trouble and also, Dash has only herself to blame. Once she was gone James at back down.
The battle went on. “Use rock smash.” Gabite’s claw started to glow as he ran towards Steelix.
“Use slam.” Steelix hit Gabite right in the stomach sending him flying towards Luna, he then past her and hit the wall behind her, he fell to the ground unconscious.
“Gabite is unable to battle, Steelix is the winner.” The judge announced.
Luna couldn’t believe how powerful Steelix was, she called back Gabite and got ready her next Pokémon. “You’re up Marowak.” Out came the bone keeper Pokémon. “Use flame wheel.” Marowak started to run and then he started to spin and flames surrounded him as he headed towards Steelix.
“Use dig.” Steelix managed to dig a hole in the ground to avoided the attack, Marowak missed and stop spinning.
Luna hated when others used dig on her but she knew what to do. “Use flamethrower into the hole.” Marowak jump into the air and attack with flames from its mouth into the hole, Steelix came out from it and was surrounded with flames.
“Don’t give up and use slam.” Steelix managed to ignore the flames while slamming its tail on Marowak who was still in the air, Steelix slammed the bone keeper Pokémon right into the ground, when Steelix removed its tail they saw that Marowak has starts in his eyes.
“Marowak is unable to battle, Steelix is the winner.” The judge announced.
Luna had lost two Pokémon to Shadow’s Steelix, but she hope her plan worked. She called back Marowak and got ready her fourth Pokémon. “You’re up Zangoose.” Out came the cat ferret Pokémon. “Use flamethrower.” Zangoose attack with flames from its mouth.
“Doge that and use slam.” Steelix managed to avoided the attack but when the iron snake Pokémon tried to use his tail to hit Zangoose, nothing happened. Shadow had no idea why it didn’t work, but then he remember Marowak’s ability, curse body. Steelix couldn’t use slam for a while.
Before Shadow could act. “Use another flamethrower.” Zangoose attack again and this time the attack hit, Steelix roared in pain as the flames surrounded him, Steelix then fell to the ground unconscious.
“Steelix is unable to battle, Zangoose is the winner.” The judge announced.
Shadow was the first one to lose three Pokémon so the trainers could now take a five minutes rest. Charizard who had watch the match from behind Shadow watch as his trainer walk to him. “Come on Charizard, we have some planning to do.” The flame Pokémon just smiled as he followed his trainer.
After the five minutes was over, the battlefield raised and this time it was the grass arena.
Shadow was up first this time. “Let’s do this Breloom.” Out came a Pokémon Luna knew all to well, she got a draw against Breloom with her Scyther.
Celestia and the girls had no idea what kind of Pokémon it was so Celestia decided to see the data.
Breloom the mushroom Pokémon. Breloom closes in on its foe with light and sprightly footwork, then throws punches with its stretchy arms. This Pokémon’s fighting technique puts boxer to shame.
Luna on the other hand was gambling with her Pokémon. “You’re up Onix.” The rock snake Pokémon came out for another round.
Shadow knew right away what Luna was planning and he wasn’t about to let her use stealth rock again. “Use mach punch.” Breloom disappeared and reappeared right in front of Onix and before Luna could react, Breloom attack with a glowing fist striking the giant Pokémon so hard that he landed on the ground unconscious.
“Onix is unable to battle, Breloom is the winner.” The judge announced.
Luna was lost for words, she had no idea that Breloom was this strong. She called back Onix and got ready her next Pokémon. “You’re up Zangoose.” Out came the cat ferret Pokémon ready for battle. “Use flamethrower.” Zangoose attack with flames from its mouth.
“Use mach punch.” Before the flames could connect, Breloom disappeared and reappeared right in front of Zangoose.
Luna was ready this time. “Use crush claw.” Zangoose claws started to glow and the attack meet Breloom’s fist, both Pokémon didn’t want to lose so they gave every thing they had but eventually both of them flew backwards, it was a draw. “Quickly, use flamethrower.” Zangoose attack with flames again and this time Breloom was hit hard.
“Don’t give up, use sky uppercut.” Breloom managed to recover and ran towards Zangoose and gave him an upper cut with its fist, Zangoose flew up in the air and landed on the ground.
“Are you okay Zangoose? Luna asked her Pokémon as she tried to get up, Zangoose managed to get up and it look like he was fine, until he fell face first on the ground, he was out.
“Zangoose is unable to battle, Breloom is the winner.” The judge announced.
Luna had lost two Pokémon against Shadow’s Breloom, it was Steelix all over again. She called back Zangoose and got ready her next Pokémon. “You’re up Ivysaur.” Out came the seed Pokémon ready for another round. “Use vine whip to tie up Breloom.” Before Shadow or Brellom could react, Brellom was trap by Ivysaur’s vines. “Now, throw Breloom up and down.” Ivyasur did that, he hit Brellom into the ground, and then he did it again and again. Shadow could only watch and eventually Brellom was unconscious.
“Brellom is unable to battle, Ivysaur is the winner.” The judge announced.
Shadow knew that Brellom was hurt but not that much, He called back the mushroom Pokémon and got ready his next. “Let’s do this Umbreon.” Out came a Pokémon that kind of look like Luna’s Jolteon but this one was black and had yellow rings.
Celestia decided to see the data.
Umbreon the moonlight Pokémon. Umbreon evolved as a result of exposure to the moon’s waves. It hides silently in darkness and waits for its foes to make a move. The rings on its body glow when it leaps to attack.
When Celestia saw the data she couldn’t help but think that Umbreon would be a good partner for her sister.
Then Shadow made a move. “Use quick attack.” Umbreon ran towards Ivysaur and tackled him before he could doge, Ivysaur slide backwards.
Luna had to counter. “Use razor leaf.” Ivysaur send away leaf’s which hit Umbreon. “Now, use energy ball.” Ivysaur send away a green energy ball towards Umbreon.
“Use shadow ball.” Umbreon send away a black ball.
Both attack missed each other but, energy ball managed to hit Umbreon and shadow ball managed to hit Ivysaur, both Pokémon was knock out.
“Both Pokémon is unable to battle, it’s a draw.” The judge announced.
Both trainers called back their Pokémon, then Shadow look over his shoulder. “Ready to battle buddy?” He asked Charizard who just smiled as he flew up on the battlefield ready to fight.
Luna just watch as Charizard got ready, she knew that was Shadow best Pokémon and that she was at a disadvantage, because her last Pokémon was… “You’re up Sceptile.” Out came the forest Pokémon ready for battle.
Celestia and the girls knew that Luna had the odds against her but James told them if Luna fought right, she could win.
Luna decided to attack first. “Use x scissor.” Sceptile crossed his arms and they started to glow, then he ran towards Charizard.
“Use flamethrower.” The flame Pokémon attack with flames from its mouth. Sceptile managed to avoid the flames and struck Charizard who staggered backwards. “Use dragon tail.” Charizard’s tail glow green and then he struck Sceptile right in the face.
Luna didn’t know that Charizard knew that move, she could think about that later. “Use leaf blade.” The blades on Sceptile’s arms became blades.
“Use dragon claw.” Then Charizard got green claws.
Both Pokémon started to attack each other with furiously, none of them wanted to give up. The audience was just mesmerized by the two Pokémon, none had seen two Pokémon go at each other like this before, they were like two wild animals. The only one who didn’t like it was Fluttersy, she thought it was barbaric.
Then Charizard managed to get in one good hit which made Sceptile to stop his attack. “Use pound.” Then the forest Pokémon used his tail to hit Charizard right in the face.
“Use flamethrower.” Charizard attack with flames again and this Sceptile was hit.
Luna didn’t know how much Secptile could take, she had to finished it. “Use solar beam.” The seeds on Secptile back started to glow.
Shadow knew that Secptile’s solar beam was a very powerful attack, he was prepared. “Use fire blast.” Fire appeared in Charizard’s mouth, he then fired away a massive flame towards Secptile who could only stand still.
Luna look between the seeds on Secptile’s back and the attack Charizard attack with, she hated that Solar beam took so long time to get ready but it was something she had to endure. Right when the attack was about to hit, the attack was ready. “Do it.” Sectile fired away a beam of energy which destroyed Charizard’s attack and before the flame Pokémon could fly up, he was hit with force so strong that it created an explosion.
The entire stadium was in silence as they waited for the smoke to clear, when it did clear they could see that Charizard was lying on the ground with stars in his eyes.
“Charizard is unable to battle, Secptile is the winner, the victory goes to Luna.” The judge announced.
Everyone erupted in cheers at what happened, Luna on the other hand had trouble believing it, she had managed to beat Shadow. She then ran to Secptile and gave him a hug. “We did it Secptile.” The forest Pokémon just smiled.
Then she saw Shadow walk over to her, he had a serious look on him. He then stop and smiled. “Congrats Luna, that was a worthy battle.” He said while holding out a hand.
Luna gladly shock his hand. “Thanks Shadow.” She said with a smile.
“You have to promise me something.” That got Luna to tilt her head in confusion. “That you will beat Sunset in the next round.” Luna just gave him a thumbs up.
Luna walk out of the stadium with a smile on her face, beating Shadow felt good considering she had never won over him before, she should feel bad for him but she couldn’t help but smile. Luna then notice rainbow Dash sitting on a bench not far from her, she look kind of sad.
Luna walk towards her. “Rainbow Dash.” The elements of loyalty look up and saw Luna walking towards her. “Why are you sitting outside?” Luna asked her.
“James, he kick me out, I said something I shouldn’t have said.” Dash told her.
Luna placed a hand on her face. “What did you say?” Dash told her why James kick her out. “Why did you say that you would force a Pokémon to evolve?” Luna asked with annoyance in her voice.
“I’m not sure, I just thought that Pokémon would be stronger if they evolved.” Luna had to admit that she had a point. “I guess I have to go back to Equestria.”
Luna didn’t expect Dash to say that. “No, you don’t have to go back, you can stay.” Dash look at Luna with a surprised face, she didn’t expect Luna to say that. “But,” And there was the ‘but’. “you have to watch you say from now on, got it?”
Dash nodded her head. “I promise that I will watch my mouth and if I say something stupid I will go back to Equestria by myself.” Luna couldn’t help but giggle when she heard that, she would love to see that. “I saw your battle on the big screen, I guess you’re up against Sunset next, do you think you can beat her?” Dash asked Luna.
“I have to because I won’t lose to her again.”
