The Other Sibling

The Black Pony of the Family.

Alight, if you all read my blog post, you'll know some major changes are coming to this story. If you haven't, go read it. Well, I don't really have anything else to say, so, go read the new first chapter of the story previously known as The Brother, now known as The Other Sibling.

It was the day after Applebucking season had ended, and Twilight was waiting at the spa with all here friends for Pinkie Pie to get there. They had all decided after all the work they had did, they needed a day of rest and relaxation, Applejack more so then the others.

Pinkie soon arrived, bursting through the door, talking quickly about a new pony in town that she had seen as she was leaving Sugercube Corner. She continued to talk about how she couldn't wait to start working on a "Welcome to Ponyville Party" for the mare as soon as they were done at the spa.

Twilight smiled and giggled at Pinkie's enthusiasm. She'd never know where that mare got all that energy from.

As the were settling into hot bath at the spa, when Twilight heard the door open again.

"OI! TWIGGY!! YOU IN HERE!"

Twilight froze. She only knew one mare that called her by that name. And, although older sounding, she knew the voice she hadn't heard in over six years. On she thought she would never hear again.

"Im-impossible..."

She couldn't believe it. She had moved to this small town to open her record store so she wouldn't have to worry too much about competitors, and it was just by chance she hear somepony mention the name "Twilight" as she entered the gingerbread style bakery. She asked the pony who said the name if they knew the pony's full name.

"I believe it's Twilight Sparkle, the new librarian at Golden Oaks Library," was all she heard before she was out the door, running towards the large tree library she had pasted earlier that day.

When she got there, she burst through the door and yelled, "TWIGGY! YOU HERE?!" startling the young dragon that had been organizing books. She instantly recognized the little guy, although he had grown a lot over the past few years.

"Spiky! Man, you've grown so much!" she exclaimed.

Spike gave her a confused look. "Uh, do I know you?"

The mare lightly tapped her head. "Duh, I forgot, you we basically a newborn when I left. Of course you wouldn't remember me. Eh, I'll explain later, but first, I need to know, where's Twilight?" she asked, using the unicorn's real name, figuring the young dragon wouldn't know her nickname.

"Uh, she's at the spa," she was gone, "with... her... friends?" Spike finished, watching the mare gallop away.

He just shrugged and went back to work.

She quickly reached the spa, and, again, burst through the door, surprising the pink mare sitting at the front desk.

She took a deep breath and yelled, "OI! TWIGGY!! YOU IN HERE!"

Everything was quiet, but she just barely heard a voice that, why older sounding, she knew all to well.

"Im-impossible..."

"TWIGGY!!" she yelled again, running toward a tub full of five confused mares, and one very surprised sister. She jumped, landed in the tub, causing a huge splash, and glomped a very surprised Twilight in a tight hug.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Look at how much you've grown!! You've become even more adorable then you were as a little filly! Oh I've missed you so much!" she said quickly, not noticing the dark look on her sister's face.

"...oh, you've missed me huh... THEN WHY DID YOU LEAVE WITHOUT SAYING GOOD BYE OR EVER COMING TO SEE US, OR EVEN SEND US A LETTER FOR SIX BUCKING YEARS!!!" Twilight yelled, startling the mare hugging her, and confusing her five friends even more.

The mare slowly let go of Twilight, and looked down. "S-sorry, little sis," she said, surprising the other five mares in the tub, "I've wanted to, but whenever I tried to, I-I just couldn't do it. Not after what happened between me and Mom and Dad. I-I always thought about you, and Shinny, though Twiggy, everyday."

Twilight was also looking down, her face dark, and her body shaking. It was quiet for several seconds, until the silence was broken by the sounds of water dripping. The mare looked up, and saw tears running down Twilight's face.

"W-we thought you were dead. M-me and Shinny. Mom and Dad never said any thing about y-you when we asked. They just got a sad look on they're faces. W-when we were old enough, we began to assume that the looks meant, y-you were d-dead." Twilight whispered, just loud enough for them to hear.

The mare frowned, and tears started to slowly work their way down her cheeks too.

"Hmpf, figures they wouldn't want to talk about me, what with how much we fought before I left. I wouldn't be surprised if they thought I had died at some point too..." she said quietly, her tears growing stronger.

There was silence for several more seconds, whit bother purple mare dropping tears into the tub.

It was broken by Applejack asking, "Uh, Twi, not to ruin what seems to be a kind of personal moment, but uh, what's going on?"

Twilight sniffed one more time, and then began wiping away her tears.

*sniff* "Uh, s-sorry. Girls, t-this is my older s-sister, Midnight Sparkle." Twilight told them, with the now named Midnight waving to them.

"Uh, hi? Um, if you didn't realize from that conversation, I'm kind of the black sheep of the family. At least in my parents eyes..." Midnight said.

"Ok, back up, I think it's story time, but I think we should have it somewhere else." Rainbow Dash said, the others nodding in agreement.

Ok, I'm going to stop it here. Manly because I want to save the explanation of what happen that there was a family falling out. And don't worry, only the first two chapters will be kind of dramatic. After that, comedy will be my focus. Hatter, out.
