Chapter 1: Terminus Fringe

Dimension: Equestria #065
Terrain: Temperate Woodland Hills with Developed Urban Ruins
Starting Season: Fall
Report Authenticator: Starbot Glimdroid XX-02

Dear Princess Twilight

Day 1 through 3
Portal translocation successful. Arrived with cargo of fifty units of packaged survival meals, fifty units of medications, fifty units of mechanical components, three sleeping bags, one hundred units of steel, one plasteel spear, one energy rifle. Colonist health: questionable. Trix-Clone reported symptoms of nausea, dizziness, and loss of coordination characteristic of “portal sickness.” Flutter-Clone reported no symptoms. Began construction of the landing site base.

Colonist mood uplifted by new environmental stimulus. Environment is temperate with defunct concrete and stone buildings interspersed between dense forest vegetation. Plentiful wood resources present in the form of “oak” and “birch” trees. The base was built within an existing, rectangular slate-brick structure discovered by Flutter-Clone.

Structure was surrounded by large unknown chunks of mechanical scrap and steel, approximately one hundred and fifty kilos per chunk. While the source is unknown, material has been useful in the construction of the base. Two wood-fueled generators were constructed outside the domicile by Trix-Clone, while Flutter-Clone identified and tamed one of the indigenous fauna, Canis lupus.

As of this report, she has begun training “Wolfius Maximus” to haul light loads to the base. Trix-Clone has, however, expressed fear of being eaten by wild animals, onset by a failed attempt to train Wolfius Maximus and receiving a bite to the leg. Treated Trix-Clone with one unit of medication. She is under observation in case of infection.

Day 4
A unique occurrence arrived in the form of a pony, native to this dimension. Identified him as “Xadabrinra,” or Xad for short. Claimed to come from a “Veral Alliance,” a community of tribal locals dispersed across Equestria #065. Presented no bias towards our settlement.

After careful consideration, Xadabrinra appeared to be a healthy specimen for further study and testing. Arrested peacefully and placed inside nearby ruins, refurbished as a prison. Suspect the “Alliance” will not be pleased. Request further aid via portal when possible.

Day 5 & 6
Performed first surgical procedure on “Xad.” Harvested left kidney successfully. Cursory scan of the planet shows other factions or communities which may trade for organs and other such medical materials.

Afterwards, a second stallion entered the colony area. At first, the colony believed it was a search party from the tribals. As the stallion entered, Trix-Clone identified it as a “wild pony.” Subject lacked normative social behaviour, did not engage with clone colonists until this unit attempted an arrest. Engaged with an energy pulse, shooting the subject in the head, torso, and limbs.

Found a tattoo of a name on the back of the wild subject while administering first aid: Levi. Levi appears too elderly to work effectively for long. Even if assimilation with the colony society is possible, the process won't necessarily be profitable. Instead, consider harvesting for more organs.

Trix-Clone disagreed, she appears upset by the practice. Should install a habitable eating area to boost colony morale.

Following his arrest, Levi contracted infections at the abdominal and left forelimb injuries. Requires medication, but medication production is not operational: current stocks must be rationed. Will amputate the infected limb instead.

Amputation failed twice before success.

Day 7
Received distress signal from a pony named Nektaros. Presented himself as a “knight” of the Fallen Empire, a seemingly feudal society built from the remnants of a much more advanced civilization. Nektaros requested shelter from an ambush by a “pony-hunting duck.” Trix-Clone accepted the request out of curiosity.

Fired upon and killed what was, indeed, a rabies-infected duck. Only a few hours later, a rocket-propelled shuttle landed on the outskirts of the colony to retrieve the knight. He left assuring Trix-Clone that she would be rewarded.

Shuttle shortly arrived from the Fallen Empire, presenting an unknown device they referred to as a “psylink.” Trix-Clone willingly accepted the application of the device on her head. She described the experience as “powerful.” Trix-Clone now seems to express new psychic abilities.

Unsure to be curious or concerned about newfound powers.

Summary
First week in this new dimension has yielded interesting results. Native populations offer possible sources of trade, as well as hostility. Psylink technology may prove exceedingly useful to Equestria Prime. Must investigate obtaining more from this Fallen Empire.

Packaged survival meals have begun running low, leading colonists to resort to foraging berries and other fruits. Must consider planting crops for future sustainability.
